I kid you not I was floored when I tried the focaccia, unseen burrata and Caesar salad for the first time. It was full of depth and flavor and I was honestly so amazing I almost felt my soul leave my body. This honestly makes up for the lack of vegetarian options found at this establishment. The pasta: I knew I wasn't going to be a fan but my partner wanted to try the only vegetarian entree they had so we gave it a shot. It was definitely something different and my partner enjoyed it however I did not. Chocolate tortino was fabulous as well. Soft creamy and simple hints of that nutty chocolate flavor we like. Back in January I finally got to dined at this popular restaurant week spot. I heard a lot of great things about the food in this place. The setup is an open kitchen to provide a view of the action. Restaurant was pretty dead because I arrived during the time when performances or shows in the area have started. Service was great and my server was knowledgeable to help decide what to order. To start I had a complementary piece of foccacia with olive oil paired with a glass of Gavi. For appetizers I started with sunchokes and puntarelles which were refreshing. For my entree I went with the comforting Rigatoni Amatriciana, which hit the spot as the textures of freshly made pasta together with the thick sauce cuts through the acidity of the Gavi. I got a last minute 6pm table on OpenTable on a Friday for a 7pm opera. I was expecting average food bc many places in an institutional location are more about the place. But everything was delicious. I asked what dishes would be fast, bc another review said they were always rushing to the show. The waitress suggested a few. I had an amazing escarole salad that came out quickly. The dressing was delicious. Then I had the branzino, which was also great. I was ready to go across the plaza to the show by 6:45. Price wise, you are paying for a large piece of fish. But I had walked by many times and wanted to check it out. The building design is gorgeous. They have Sancerre. That's a plus, given that a lot of establishments do not include that particular white wine on their menus. It was decent. The "Potato & Caviar" was okay. $30 for two tastings, as expected. My issue with the "bite" was it being pretty one note in terms of flavor and texture: slightly salty and creamy. Maybe add a light tomato cube? I tend to expect the range from complex to exploratory in such a concentrated package. One of the bartenders was preeee- ten- tious. I've had warmer service at the DMV. The food was excellent across the board, the service was seamless, and the overall level of hospitality was exceptional. A special thank you to Barbara, the General Manager, for setting such a high standard, and to Ahmed, our server, who took terrific care of us throughout the evening. I also want to recognize Chef Richard Diamonte and his culinary team -- every dish was beautifully executed, thoughtful, and delicious. With the buzz of the holidays in the air, we were lucky to get such a great reservation at Lincoln Ristorante! It had been a while since we dined at Lincoln and I'm not sure why we waited so long. We had such an amazing dining experience. From our drinks to desserts, our entire meal was top notch and one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a while. Service by Freddy was super professional and really added to our enjoyable evening. The atmosphere and ambiance at Lincoln is very special with great views of Lincoln Center too. If you have a show after dinner they also make sure dinner is timed accordingly for you. We started with the Duck Meatballs and the Tuna Crudo and both were excellent especially the Meatballs which were very nicely prepared. The two young women at reception tried to sit us at the worst table in the restaurant. I had booked us weeks in advance. We knew dinner was going to be over $1,000 before we got there and were looking forward to it because the food is amazing. The service is also top notch. But on our arrival the front desk girls put us at a table in the hallway between the two dining rooms. Not even at the window, virtually next to the hallway. We booked this restaurant due to its convenient location, as we had a show at the Lincoln Center right after dinner. It's on the same block and only a couple hundred feet away from the doors of the theater. When we checked in, we were asked if we were trying to make a particular show time so they could try to accommodate that as best as possible. We allowed 2.5 hours when choosing our reservation time so it wasn't an issue, but this would be a very welcome part of the experience for those who might be running on a tighter timeline. As it turned out, we had an extra hour to spare after we left the restaurant. With this extra time before our show, we took a stroll down to Venchi, a chocolatier and gelato establishment about 4 blocks away that I highly recommend. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. If you can, try to secure a table next to the floor-to-ceiling windows for great views of the Lincoln Center. I had the wagyu strip loin, which was served with a very tasty green peppercorn sugo and potato cakes. They don't have a kids menu per se, but they had options readily available. My 7 year-old son ended up going with the butter and cheese pasta. I definitely recommend this for a wonderful upscale pre-show dining spot. read more

Once they left, it was better. There are two entrances into the restaurant, one street and one plaza level. The service was excellent and attentive. We all had an appetizer and main entree as well as shared a few sides. A few of us had mocktails (and didn't miss the alcohol) and red and white wine. Our dishes were excellent! A few of us had the striped bass, lasagna and steak. Can't go wrong with any of them. The staff is top notch and efficient. The ambiance was romantic and subtle. There is street parking available. In 2015, we had dinner here and remembered one of the hostesses gave me a stern look when I complimented her looking like the dancer Misty Copeland. Must be my limited Chinglish. Excellent size portions and the staff were extremely warm and hospitable. Great prices too for the area and can make for a wonderful night. The location of the restaurant was super cool actually, as there was a grass field built on its roof in Lincoln Center. I would have given this place a four out of five if it wasn't for out waiter. We like dance. Watching it. Doing it. Digging it. :)) Sweetie comes from a land where they consider ballet the most evolved form of dance. I dunno. It's ok. I'm more of a modern dance kinda fella. Still learning. And Ballet usually means Lincoln Center. So aside from arranging tix and parking, my biggest get is picking a place to eat in the Lincoln Square neighborhood. This particular Saturday evening we decided to wing it for dinner. None of the usuals was appealing so we wandered into Lincoln about an hour or so before curtain hoping to get seated. We were both in the mood for a bowl of pasta and some drinks. Two really happy looking and sounding hospitality folks inquired if we had a curtain to make and then immediately ushered us to the corner seats of a small but incredibly well curated bar with two pro's mixing and pouring some inventive cocktails. Turns out, this is Lincoln's signature Negroni bar (my current favorite cocktail) and these folks will mix the classic or dozens of other riffs fortified with all sorts of bitters, digestifs and obscure base spirits. The best part is you can get an absolutely banging bowl of pasta with your drink, served right at the bar, fast enough to make a curtain in an hour. Plenty of elbow room at the bar and adjacent floor to ceiling windows provide a nice distraction -- with great views of Juilliard and 65th street below. Not sure how I've missed Lincoln these past few years. It is on the Square, just steps away from all the area stages. Priced like everything else in this part of town, but for my money, a cut above and well worth the convenience. My traditional Negroni was poured over a lacrosse ball sized ice cube -- made for a great start. We nibbled on an amuse bouche of breaded and delicately fried mozzarella cubes, fresh focaccia and very flavorful breadsticks -- accompanied by an addictive spread made from whipped ricotta, honey and a drizzle of fragrant olive oil. Auspicious beginning. I drank their signature mezcal based Negroni with my pasta -- called "stromboli" -- it is smoky and spicy and salty and bitter and sweet -- full of so many flavor profiles -- i tasted a different drink with every pull. As good as the drinks were, the pastas were even better. I ate Lincoln's version of the classic orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage -- elevated to a whole new level by house made lamb sausage, nice heat and just the right amount of acid from the tomato and salt from the grated cheese. Big flavors here -- perfect match for the Stromboli Negroni. Sweeties ricotta based cavatelli was dressed with basil pesto. This was smooth, garlicky, perfumed by the basil and dressed with what looked like shaved parmeggiano. Subtle and bold flavors, side by side, and delicious. The regular menu and the prix fixe specials looked great -- but we just didn't have enough time for a more elaborate dining experience before our show. Next trip. I think this eatery once held a Michelin star. Makes sense. The room itself is an architectural masterpiece of steel and glass -- euro-styled with clean lines and a canted tarp-like roof line with REAL GRASS planted on parts of the roof itself. The food, service and cool bar vibe work seamlessly with the look. I liked the whole experience very much. Top Tip: If you plan to do cocktails with some quick noms, and are pressed for time, eat at the bar and snag the corner two seats facing 65th street. We had menu items from both their normal menu and from the restaurant week menu, and everything was so delicious!! Our server, George, was amazing, and it was clear that the kitchen staff take great pride in their craft. The hostesses greeted us with welcoming smile, and seated us right away. The restaurant itself was classy, but not pretentious, and their service was spectacular despite them hosting a wedding reception as well. We had dinner there before seeing a concert at Alice Tully hall. The location is spectacular with it being walking distance to all the music halls. We felt we waiting a long time to be fed. Not sure why and when we got our food, three of us ordered the pasta it was room temperature. I had to stir it in to get some hot pieces in the bottom of the bowl. The broccoli rabe was excellent as well was the salad which they split in the kitchen for us. Unlike other nice restaurants they only give you once piece of bread each and never come back to ask if anyone would like another.
