My skewer is ready to eat! Beef and lamb, chicken skin, pork belly, and beef rolls
    Vanessa C.

I've visited a few times and it's always a great experience when with friends. Lots of variety, delicious eats, fun videos, and karaoke lyrics on the walls. They have bright lights while the room is pretty dark. There's only a few tables so if you're coming in on a weekend late that you might have a wait and need to join the waitlist. I love that they have a scannable menu and you can order directly through online. It's a great late night spot when you're having a few drinks or just grabbing some food with friends until the late night. The service is great and they're pretty quick once you order. I always love to have beef and lamb and enoki wrapped in bacon as well as the cucumbers. They have a few drinks on the menu, but for me it's usually a night after. I bring my friends here when I'm in town and I'll definitely keep coming. Already thinking about the next meal!

Everything was cold other than the flavorless eggplant

You guys fooled me with your reviews. We got overpriced cold skewers. They also didn't have any hot drinks (not even tea), which is super rare for a Chinese restaurant. Disappointed.

I have been coming here for over 5 years and it never disappoints! The prices are great, the dry bbq seasoning is spicy cumin perfection, and the orange garlic chili sauce that comes on some dishes like Grilled Oysters and Eggplants is soo garlicky and fragrant! I love to dip my skewers in the sauce that comes on them. Skewers come to your table already cooked to perfection. My favorite skewers are: - Lamb!! (Lamb is consistently more tender and juicy than beef here) -Quail Eggs -Chicken Wings (very crispy) -Chives -Grilled Oysters -Chicken Skin -Beef -Cucumber Salad -Toasted Buns for dessert The interior is dark - with slow moving background projections on all the walls. The booth seating resembles couches. It's a very cozy and casual space, and its great because this place opens super late until 2/3am. Service is fast and you order on your phone using a QR code. I love stopping by Xinjiang BBQ when I'm passing the area, but it's definitely a late night stop in my mind. And never get the skewers togo! Really not as good togo.

If you're not coming to grub here are you really living? Jk this spot always hits, go hungry and leave pleasantly satisfied. The food is made to order off the QR code menu, your code is on the screen! Maybe volunteer an unsuspecting friend in your party to sing some karaoke. While you wait for your delicious bbq skewers, they have it all, chicken, lamb, beef, seafood, veggies. Come by and get comfy, hope you don't have to wait too long to be seated, it's a small dining area but worth the wait. Extra seasoning on the table but if you want spicy you can order that too.

Came to Xinjiang BBQ for my friend's birthday. They order via QR code at the table. Everything you order comes out cooked so it's nice that you don't have to wait for the skewers to cook at your table like other places. My group ordered the crispy pork appetizer, jellyfish cucumber and marinated cucumbers. All were delicious that we ordered multiple plates of them. As for the skewers we got the chicken, beef, lamb, squid, bacon wrapped enoki, bean curd and fried chicken skin. All were cooked to perfection and none of them were tough or chewy. They have different powders on the table that you can put on your plate to accompany the skewers. They are priced pretty fairly with each order being about $6. My group was there for 4 hours and each one of us paid about $260 for a party of 7. We liked that this place was opened late and was a chill environment. The staff speaks some English but would be good if you have someone in the party who speaks mandarin. They have about a dozen tables inside and everything comes out pretty quickly.

I always go to the SD location and just recently visited this location. My go-to spot for late night cheap eats to hang with friends! Small location so there could be a wait on weekends but worth the wait. I've tried a lot of stuff on the menu but my personal favorites are - beef skewers - cucumbers - tofu - oysters/scallops!! Love that they have a Yelp waitlist so you can leave to grab boba real quick and come back before getting text updates about the waitlist!

easy spot to get some yummy skewers! inside has really cool interior. the seating is booth style and has an ipad to order from. you can also send in song requests. they have visuals on all the walls surrounding you as well. skewers were reasonably priced and come out cooked already, then placed on a heated tray. some skewers had alot of fat though their side dishes were pretty good, the cucumber salad and stir fried clams were the better ones of what we ordered try the chicken wing! it was super fresh and hot when we got ours roasted eggplant dish was a little too burnt on the bottom

Had this place bookmarked for a while and finally went to try it out. Skewers were quite yummy and they had a wide selection. They cook it and bring it to you. Flavors were good and meat not overcooked. The cucumbers were good and hubs really liked the shredded potatoes, but we really enjoyed the lamb dough drop soup! It was a good grease cutter lol and delicious too! Very different! Was extra good when I squeezed some lime into it. Service was good. Food came out quickly. I loved the ambiance, fun vibe and the constant changing scenes kept me entertained! There were 8 projectors lol. Seats were comfy too! Open late and quite a popular place.

Came here on new years eve around 10pm & it was starting to get busy. Total meal was $30 for 3 meat skewers (4 sticks each), cucumbers, & rice This is my favorite skewers place & a great late night spot! The price is great & the flavor of the meat is tasty. The cucumbers & eggplants are also great add ons to your meal! Favorite is the beef & lamb The ambiance is very chill, dim lighting, & can sometimes be a little louder at night with the talking & music

What an interesting restaurant experience! Xinjiang BBQ is located in a tiny plaza that has a good amount of parking as well. The plaza is initially pretty hard to locate while driving on the street so just be on the lookout. The decor is really interesting as well. It gives somewhat of a *nightclub* type of vibe and, for some reason, there is a super large projector in the front of the restaurant that's showing random messages that people in the restaurant can send in via a google form QR code. Just really odd, but I'm not complaining - it's kind of cool actually too, the more I think about it. The service is quick and the food comes quicker. You order via a QR code at your table and the ordering site is very easy to use. It's perfect, since we could order skewers throughout the meal, instead of all at once. The main skewers that we got were the beef and pork belly. The prices are very reasonable as well, going for about $1.50 per skewer. I also highly recommend getting the cucumber salad! It's a big portion for a reasonable price and it has a very clean and fresh taste, allowing for a good contrast between the saltiness of the meat. Overall, I had a great time and really just had an ~interesting~ experience here. A lot of aspects of this restaurant were very odd to me, but I still enjoyed it and had fun. Great place to just chill and relax with your friends with good food and drinks!

The food is decent, but I have other places that I prefer for skewers. I feel like the biggest appeal of this place would've been the atmosphere created by the giant LED screens that are projected onto the walls, but I felt kinda catfished when I came here. It's not as vibrant and cool looking as some of the pictures make it seem. Service is fine. Your interactions with the staff are relatively minimal. They'll seat you and bring out your food. You order on your phone. I feel like for each dish I tried, I've had a better version of it somewhere else. I wouldn't mind coming here if someone else wanted to go, but it's definitely not my first choice.

Great prices and great food with amazing selections to sum it all up. It's our 3/4 times we are here and each time we always had a great times. Don't compare to those common tiny skewers, this place give you three times the meats for same price and you have the option of well done or mediums. Try them and you will be back, particularly for their beef , pork, lamb and my fav intestines Service is great and if you speak probably better but for English speaking they are good but the ambience is like night club drinking place which they are

    Yadi s.

this is a cute spot that's open late, that was the driving force as to how we got there... the place looks clean and there are cute projected images on the walls -the booths are comfy and the seats are like cute little futon style seating the menu was not what i was looking for at the moment- skewers sounded yummy but reading some of the other items was a little too experimental for me for ex: sheep's testicle. i'm not knocking it and i respect all cultures - i'll try this spot another time but we did end up leaving tonight. the service was great! if you want try something more chinese-traditional in a cute space and you want something that closes well after midnight this is the spot for you!

They opened and closed the door for us which was a nice touch because it was busy inside. We ordered the pork ramen, pork buns, and pork soup dumplings. On to the food! Pork Ramen: 3/5 They give you a hefty amount of noodles and pork. They use a thin noodle here which pairs well with the broth. I truly do believe this was around average for ramen as the flavor in the broth was not as strong or savory. The highlight of the entire entree was definitely the pork, which was tender and flavorful. I probably would not order this again. Pork bun: 5/5 The pork buns were soft and fluffy, almost too good looking to eat. There was the right amount of soup and meat inside that made for a wonderful bite full of flavor. Not dry at all. Would recommend ordering this if you visit. Pork Dumplings: 5/5 The star of the show, the dumplings. They were soft and just like the buns, they had the right amount of soup + meat which made for a delicious bite every time. My toddler even ate some and she's usually super picky about meat. Overall, I'd definitely recommend coming here for the other noodles, the dumplings, and buns. You can skip on the ramen. I would 100% come back here to dine in. Quick note that parking gets full pretty quick here.

When we were there, we were handed a new menu where lunch is from 11:00-3:00pm and dinner from 4:00-11:00pm. We were asked to pay the dinner price, The waiter just said his manager told him to tell everyone that, but the menu doesn't state the price between 3:00-4:00pm. The online menu also needs to be updated. As for the food, the hot food selection has gone downhill. Not as much variety as before. Mostly fried foods, not as much greens as before. The dessert selection was only oranges and a jello dessert. The meat was sliced super thin, so it wasn't chewy. I would say the service was just ok. One waiter was catering to us, but he was also busy doing other things in the kitchen. Would I come back here again, probably not. Seeing the server and an Asian staff coming out from kitchen confirmed that the cooking wasn't fully American taste bud. But that is the reason why it hit me very well. Honestly, whether you have American or fusion or Asian taste bud, the taste quality is better than some average American restaurants. I tried the butter squash soup, lamp chop, and bow tie pasta with chicken. I was enjoying my soup and lamp chop a lot. The pasta was pleasant to me, but it wasn't exceptionally great compared to the lamp chop. My fiancé loved the pasta though, saying that the sauce wasn't overwhelming. It is not a cheap place to come for, but it is because the food and drinks (good white wine) have quality. The wait for the entrees was a little long, even though it wasn't that busy. I believe it was the chef spending time to make sure each dish was done well, unlike the busy restaurant where chefs only follow the restaurant's recipes to make it quick and easy. Lastly, the ambience was okay, but it was more an older fine dining/family owned style. It had some nostalgic vibe if you'd take it that way. Keep it up. I really hope it will be there forever long.

Good ingredients used, but just too heavy on the oil, too light on the aromatics. We didn't fully enjoy our meal as much as we would've liked. We might come back and try the brunch some day.

The staff was so friendly and sweet, answered our questions about ingredients and macros, and overall seemed very knowledgeable. Their parking lot was a little tricky but we easily found free street parking during the lunch hour.

Located in a busy neighborhood of El Monte, CA, this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Limited parking is available behind the restaurant, and street parking is an option if you can find a space. Upon entering, I immediately noticed how clean, well-organized, and modern everything looked. The electronic menu board is clearly and prominently displayed as you walk in. The menu is quite extensive, with options including wraps, salads, bowls, breakfast items, smoothies, and meal-prepped dishes with chicken, beef, salmon, tofu, and much more. I was impressed by the variety of choices and portions. My wife ordered an Asian chicken salad and garlic edamame, while I had a house salad with chicken and shrimp, plus a strawberry-banana smoothie and (2) protein donuts. Each dish was absolutely delicious. The lettuce in our salads was crunchy and fresh, the chicken and shrimp were flavorful and well-seasoned, the garlic edamame was tasty and cooked perfectly, and my banana and strawberry smoothie--let's just say I wish I had another one right now, as I loved it! If I may make a small suggestion: please chop the lettuce into smaller pieces, as the lettuce on both our plates contained large pieces that we had to cut ourselves. Despite this minor item, it was a positive dining experience, and we definitely plan to return soon to try other items on the menu.

They only provided us with the lunch menu when we arrived. If you spend $50 or more, you get to spin the wheel for a free dish. They asked us what we wanted and we requested the 免费烤鸭 or Roasted Duck. We didn't spin the wheel. Later, we saw that crab was one of the free item you could spin for, so we immediately ask the waiter to change the free item, but she said they already cut up the duck. Also, they said you have to spin to get the crab. We've been here many time and have not see anyone spin for the crab. We ordered the 清蒸鲈鱼 or Steamed Sea Bass with Soy Sauce for $16.99, 乾煸四李豆 or Stir-fried String Beans for $10.99, 海鲜扒炸豆腐 or Seafood Fried Tofu for $13.99, and 宮保雞丁 or Kung Pao Chicken for $10.99. We also ordered white rice for $1.50 per bowl. All of the dishes were really salty. We saw other tables had the Dinner Special menu. We didn't like that we didn't get a complete menu when we definitely came during the Dinner Special time. The complimentary red bean dessert at the end wasn't bad. The food was too salty and service was not good this time.
