This review is long time coming. First, they're food is consistently delicious. They're salmon is always spot on, and I love that they don't charge for extra veggies (no rice). However, they're customer service is next level. We called to check the time they close, apparently they were closing within 5 minutes, and the young lady insisted that they'd wait for us. When we got there, the gentleman man cooking our food insisted we shouldn't rush and eat there. I had company waiting at home so we declined, but it was so kind for them to offer. I swear it feels like visiting familia and the rolling out the red carpet. They have out business anytime we're craving teriyaki. read more

This is a gem for Cypress & Buena Park residents! The "grill master" gentleman that grills all the meat is a very friendly and helpful. The ladies that take your orders are pretty great too! Ask any questions about their menu and they'll offer you all their options. My family loves the Chicken Teriyaki with Veggies and the Beef Ribs Plate. We always ask to substitute the fruit & salad for more steamed veggies. Side condiments they have are: Pickled jalapeños and carrots Chopped green onions Teriyaki sauce Thousand Island dressing Chili sauce / Sriracha Prices are budget friendly and portions are plentiful. Great service, good value, and some tasty food. We were looking for something a little lighter for dinner when Yaho popped up in our search results. Located in the back of a Home Depot parking lot, we had probably driven by this place for years without ever knowing it was in our neck of the woods. Chicken bowls were what we ordered and they didn't disappoint. They give a great amount of protein and pack in the rice. Add in some of their teriyaki sauce or something else of you liking and you'll have yourself a hearty meal, or at least enough for leftovers the next day if you're trying to maintain portion control. The lady working there was super friendly and helpful. I chose to wait outside while our order was being prepared and she was nice enough to walk it out to me which was a nice surprise. Parking can be a little chaotic, but it's a big shopping center if you don't mind walking a few feet to get to the eatery. Totally worth it and we'll keep coming back in the future! read more

I have already eaten here twice, and the food has been consistently delicious. Much better than anything I have tried. And I was a Yoshinoya lover every since college, this place blows it out of the water. Food: The chicken and beef are cooked perfectly. Perfect amount of char but not dry at all. Best part, the portions are huge. They do not skimp out on the meat. Even the rice is cooked well. Service: I've gotten togo both times, and the people working there have been awesome. I have been coming here for 8 years and I don't intend to stop coming any time soon. I used to take classes at Cypress College back in 2011, and I used to come here almost every week. I have moved since then, and this is still one of my regular places whenever I am in the area. Why do I still come here? The chicken is undeniably fresh each time. I came here to grab some food to bring home. I couldn't decided what I wanted so I went for the combo with shrimp, steak, and korean ribs. It came with a side or rice, cabbage, and broccoli. The cashier also threw in a generous amount of delicious terriyiki sauce. Everything was good. I liked how everything had been marinated and cooked perfectly. I think my combo meal was $8-9. Most of the plates are around that price. The cashier girl was very nice. She told me before placing my order that the food would take 10 minutes and if that was okay; oppose to making me wait. I pretty much agree with everything Fia R wrote in her review so just go read hers. Although I suppose I should say a thing or two about my own experience. The place was hoppin' on a weekday at lunchtime, mostly with students from Cypress College (the food here is inexpensive). The staff is pleasant and the interior is dull but adequate. You don't expect a teriyaki place to be fancy. I ordered the pork plate. The teriyaki sauce containers provided at the counter were plentiful and I gave my pork & rice several squirts. The rice was really good. The pork was okay although I got a few pieces that were fatty/chewy...had to decide whether to swallow it or spit it out (I always chose the latter). The salad had no dressing and to say it was not a taste treat is an understatement. My pork had some spicy seasoning that gave it some zing. The soda machine only had 4 of 7 flavors working. I know because I had 3 wrong choices before I got one that worked. If I was a college student I might come here now and then but it's not the best teriyaki I've ever had. read more

I don't live in the area but I came across this place when I was there for work and omg this place is the best. What really stood out to me was the service. It looks like it's family owned but they run such a good business. The cashier was super friendly and very accommodating. She asked us if we needed anything multiple times and brought our food out to us. The food itself was good too. I got the chicken with veggies and the chicken was cooked so well. New favorite place! Such a generous LARGE serving for the low price. The food is such GREAT quality and the meat had literally NO fat at all, so lean and tender. The teriyaki sauce is the best. I absolutely love this spot. I work right across the street from here and they're so quick with preparing their food and the food is extremely fresh all the time. I usually get the "Salmon Bowl w/ Veggies." Comes with teriyaki and siracha and it just does it for me. Perfect for an on the go lunch and super healthy as well. Goes accordingly to my diet. Came across this place when I went to the campus next door to them on a weekend. I'm a sucker for a good teriyaki chicken place and of course, had to try Yano grill.
