So I think it's weird that I added this place when it first opened and even have the link to my former review but now there is a second listing for this place. I wanted to update it since it is under new ownership. They are the exact same owners of the former "Flame Broiler" but sold the franchise b/c it was costing them too much money. So know that you'll get the same service and quality as before....just under a new name! This place is just like The Flame Broiler except they have better prices! And if you have a student ID card, you get 10% off! They have all kinds of teriyaki bowls and plates (Chicken, Chicken & Veg, Beef, Salmon, etc) and offer 2 sizes...small and large. The small will stuff the average person who probably won't finish it and the large would give you a whole second meal for left overs! All meals do not include a drink but are well priced it doesn't matter. The small chicken plate was $4.65. Great price for fresh food. You can substitute white steamed rice for REAL brown rice that is soaked overnight so it's tender and delish! My big gripe about places that offer "brown rice" for an additional charge is that they sometimes use the instant crap. Yuck. This is the real deal and actually worth the extra charge. They also make their own sauces and dressings....added bonus. They just recently re-opened under the new name. So the decor is bland, the place is small BUT the staff ARE AMAZINGLY FRIENDLY. Very attentive and aim to please. The food is cooked to order (not previously partially cooked and then finished when you order) so it's FRESH. I was told they re-opened by a co-worker and stopped in today for lunch. English is their second language so I think that is why they haven't advertised well. They need to make fliers and hang them around the College so their old clientele come back! Don't be discouraged by the look of the place, stop in and have dinner before going next door for dessert at Frostbites! UPDATED REVIEW: Under new ownership. The lady that ran it before just couldn't afford it anymore. I even stopped coming by b/c if it was even open, then it became cash only. They now call it: "Yaho Grill Teriyaki House" The new owners are a nice couple that have done a great job updating the place. Like other reviewers have said, you don't come in here for the decor...especially for this price. They aren't a franchise like Flame-Broiler, so they don't have the same $$$ to work with. The menu is similar to before, yet smaller. Probably a good business move. The prices are higher but still not unreasonable. I disagree with anyone who has said that the portion sizes are the same as Flame-Broiler. No way! Even now with the new owners, the portions have gotten a pinch smaller and are still bigger than FB's. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this place. I'm also not a Teriyaki snob. Great portions, friendly staff, they take credit cards again, the soda machine is fully functional, you can add more sauce or salad dressing at the counter, and it's freshly made to order. So for anyone that wants a quick bite to eat for a bottom basement price, try it out. read more

It seems to me that there are lots of teriyaki bowl places (ie. Kush Bowl, the infamous Flame Broiler, etc.) therefore, this place is just A-OK. I prefer Kush Bowl or MOS 2 way way better. Woow... I'm blown away by this place. The best teriyaki grilling ever. I'm not a teriyaki fan since I don't like sweetness on meat dishes. Yaho Grilling has turned me into their fan. On top of their most delicious grilling and fresh vegetables, their customer service is the best too. All staffs are friendly, kind and nicest ever. The sauce was superior and they're home made. The best Thousand Island ever. The grilled shrimps was super tasty, you could taste the freshness and the grilling flavor on them. The short ribs was superb. Their home made marinading sauce was best ever I had on grilled meat. I didn't expect much, thought it'll just be one of those grilled teriyaki place and that's how it totally surprised me. My husband and I discovered this place by chance, we were getting our car wash right next door.... We're coming back for sure even if it might be a little distance from us. The quality of the food coming out of their kitchen is amazing! Tender steak, lean cuts of chicken, delicious spicy pork, and perfectly steamed veggies. The portions are great compared to their pricing, considering they are competing with The Flame Broiler and Kush Bowl. For an upwards price of $5-6 you can get a (Insert Protein of choice here)/ veggie bowl, and the option to upgrade to brown rice for an additional charge of .50 cents. Not bad at all! The service is top notch as well. Very friendly and helpful. They also have a frequent buyer's card with the 10th stamp being a free chicken bowl. Standard teriyaki bowl restaurant. You basically can get a plate ~$8 (meat + rice + salad + oranges) or a bowl ~$6 (Meat + rice + veggies). My bf and I shared a chicken-steak veggie bowl. The chicken was nothing to brag about. The steak was definitely better and had more of a grilled flavor. The actual teriyaki sauce itself was pretty good. Veggies were standard. If you're trying to be healthy and want a teriyaki bowl this then place will do the trick. I don't think I would actually crave this place, but I wouldn't mind coming back and just ordering the steak and taking it home. 10% discount if you bring your college ID. read more

Great teriyaki joint...it blows flame broiler and those other teriyaki places out of the water. The food is fresh and made to order. They also have brown rice and all white meat chicken upon request. The best thing about this place is their spicy sauce...friggen DELICIOUS! I heard it was homemade or something. If you want nice ambiance go to mortons or those other fancy smuck places. My review will strictly be on what I've ordered: Beef Bowl - Eh, this was decent. Meat was expectedly CHEWY. Not fond of the teriyaki sauce just because it didn't taste too homemade. Veggies at at teriyaki place usually aren't that great because they steam the hell out of them and they just get mushy. OVERALL: Would I come here again? Probably not. It's no Flame Broiler but it will do to keep you filled. I was satisfied by today's lunch for $5.43. I had a chicken/rice "bowl" w/ salad on the side. Everything was fresh including the mix salad. If you want to grab a quick lunch, I would recommend this spot. It's not an exciting spot. I went in and I was the only customer there during lunch. I thought about leaving but I didn't want to start looking for another place. So I gave it a gry. I was satisfied.
