    The saddest looking cali rolls.
    Hillary K.

This place has been my go to place for a quick bite for my parents and I. But lately the quality and portions have been so off. I understand the prices for everything is going up nowdays but that doesnt mean the portion and quality of your food should go down. The rice on my california rolls were so thin and the fillings are so little you can see empty space in them.

Quick and easy! Simple dishes from sushi rolls to udon combos. Perfect place to chow down after or before shopping at the market. They also provide catering service (which is awesome!) Everything here is fresh and good but the minus 1 star since they have very limited seating available!

Don't go shopping while hungry? No problem. Stop into Yanusa, set nearby the produce section. They have an extensive menu of soups and noodles and sushi --- at least I think so. My Korean isn't so good, but I can certainly read the pictures! Nice little lunch nook here with tables and mini booths and a bar area. I snagged the last stool and ordered #7. Got pleasantly met with a couple baked mussels (delicious if mysterious); a big bowl of Udon; a big sushi roll of krab and avocado and veggies; some Korean pickles, and kimchi. Kind of a lot of food - and at $10, pretty dang reasonable. Service is quick, efficient and friendly. (Friendlier than some of the 'Taster' staff in the store who don't look as kindly on the likes of me). It's impressive how they navigate the small space with all the diners, but somehow they do it. I would definitely return. There's a few places to eat inside this market, and this place looks the healthiest and nicest.

A hidden gem!! SO hidden that I'm the first to review! Woohoo! This place is a small take-out and catering restaurant located INSIDE the corner of Hannam Chain, the Korean market in the plaza next to Cafe Tous Les Jour. As soon as you walk in, you'll see it on the right side. Very humble and cozy, only 4 small tables and a sushi bar. The times I've come here, I've tried their udon for $5.55. I really like the taste of their broth/soup! They also have sushi and rolls, and you can get a combination of california roll + udon for $7.39 which also comes with 2 mussels. You can also get a spicy tuna roll instead in the combo, although it's not on the menu. Pretty good deal! The service is always super fast and the prices are cheap! So next time you have to buy some groceries at the Korean market, stop by and grab a quick bite to eat! Easy on the wallet and yummy in the tummy! :)

Portions have downgraded and they only offer takeout with a higher price now. I used to love coming here for years but now I'm hesitating to even come back.

Upon entering Hannam Market to your immediate right is Yanusa , one of several eateries inside the store. I've eaten here so many times and just never left a review. Yanusa is a very tiny and crowded, only 4 tables and a few bench seats. My lunch consisted of Baked Mussels and Seafood Udon. (Several Banchan are included with order) The Baked Mussels are my favorite and I always order them. The Seafood Udon is loaded with portions of Seafood. This simple lunch will fill your appetite and will not even put a dent in your pocket book. *** Stop # 6 of 7 from my DTLA / K Town excursion

$9 (with tax) for three handrolls, banchans, and miso soup!? I SAY YES!! My sister and I were shopping at Hanam and got a little hungry so we decided to stop at the little restaurant near the produce to have a bite. To our surprise, the 3 handrolls were amazing, fresh, and a great portion of food for two girls! The three handrolls are spicy fish (tuna, salmon, yellowtail mix I think), california roll, and eel. Let me tell you, they don't skimp on the meat or avocado! It was delicious. The miso soup was a wonderful touch and a bigger portion than normal. Score! Will be back.

The vibe is awesome inside; there's lofi playing at a nice level and the lighting is beautiful. It feels like an elevated experience right when you walk in. We didn't wait long as it was a Sunday afternoon, and our waitress was so helpful in deciding what to order (the menu is extensive!). We got the baked scallop roll, the crunch spider roll, and the Baja California roll. All three were amazing!!!! We also got spicy tuna crispy rice and the gyoza to start. I am not joking when I say they were the best restaurant gyoza I've had in Los Angeles. Juicy, warm, nice golden crisp on the bottom, and flavorful filling. The baked scallop roll was my personal favorite of the three; it was warm and savory, with an excellent bite from the juicy scallops. It was a great contrast to the Baja roll, which is cold and has crunchy elements to it. And the spider roll was one I didn't expect to like (my boyfriend wanted it), but ended up being my second favorite! The soft shell crab flavor is deliciously salty and pairs great with the surrounding flavors. I'll definitely be back for more!

We had an rsvp but wasn't busy when we arrived. Was sat immediately and served water. They have a pretty extensive menu of most things you'd find at a sushi cut roll spot. We ended up ordering the toro garlic toast, veggie tempura, ginza roll, and several pieces of nigiri sushi. The toro garlic toast was pretty good - sort of like a spicy tuna crispy rice situation ... but a little fattier and more garlicky than crispy. The ginza roll was pretty good too - a lot of fish in the roll and wasn't overwhelming with too much sauce. The tempura was good too- not super oily and all your typical veg involved. The nigiri sushi were pretty well prepared. The size was pretty good for the price - and each were accompanied by a small garnish on top or a little bit of sauce brushed on. All in all - I wouldn't say it's a date night place, but is a good easy eats sushi spot for rolls and nigiri for the price. Would recommend!

The cozy interior features rich wood accents and traditional Japanese design influences, creating an intimate and inviting ambiance. Our server was kind and attentive, frequently checking in throughout the meal to make sure we had everything we needed. We ended up ordering from the lunch menu, which included complimentary miso soup and a small side of vegetables as a thoughtful touch. **Lunch Sushi & Sashimi: 5/5** This lunch special offered generous portions, featuring a chef's choice assortment of sushi and sashimi alongside a maki roll. While the spicy tuna roll was enjoyable, the nigiri and sashimi were easily the highlights. The salmon and yellowtail nigiri had exceptionally smooth, buttery textures that practically melted on the tongue. Each slice of sashimi was delicate and remarkably fresh, with a clean flavor and no hint of fishiness. **Salmon Ikura Don: 4/5** This donburi featured salmon sashimi and ikura served over rice with avocado and a spring salad mix. The salmon was tender and silky, pairing beautifully with the ikura, which provided bright bursts of brininess and a satisfying pop with each bite. Underneath, the rice was perfectly cooked, while creamy slices of avocado complemented the richness of the fish. My only complaint was the spring salad mix, which felt somewhat out of place among the other ingredients and didn't contribute much to the bowl. With well-executed dishes and warm hospitality, Izakaya Osen delivered an incredible dining experience that left a lasting impression. The combination of exceptional quality and excellent value makes this a restaurant I'd happily return to.

It's one of the healthier options in the area, the staff is always incredibly polite, and the food is consistently fresh. I usually order a spicy tuna roll along with a few other rolls, but I've also had the fried rice and crispy rice, and they've all been excellent. I did have one small incident where I bit into a tuna scale that had made its way into my spicy tuna roll. It definitely caught me off guard, but honestly, it wasn't a dealbreaker. If anything, it reminded me that they're working with fresh fish. I let the staff know just so they were aware, and without me asking, they removed the roll from my bill. That level of customer service was genuinely appreciated. The restaurant is always clean, welcoming, and a place I look forward to visiting on my lunch breaks. Then they have to wait there to walk us out. There were NO toilet seat covers or one square of toilet paper in the three stalls of the women's bathroom. There was also an abandoned ice machine in front of the women's door so my 99 year old mother's walker wouldn't fit and I had to walk her in. What if it was a wheelchair?
