Last night after a long day of work, SaturDATE! with my boyfriend. It was so crowed, it was three large parties, I was afraid it would be a long wait but in 15 mins we were seated. I don't venture to Yard House often, I think I have only been 3 times in the past ten years, but this particular visit was pleasant. Busy Monday evening = Happy Hour Kick-Off, is it? We took a seat at the bar and I started with a Pomegranate Margarita, which was mighty tasty! Estimated to be a 25 minute wait for a table turned out to be only about 15 minutes even with both indoor and outdoor dining full! We were seated outside and enjoyed a calming view of the Marina. I had the Pepper Jack Burger and Truffle fries and felt both were delicious. The condiments in the burger, i.e., cheese and poblano pepper, were of average quality. I've had burgers with a 'roasted' poblano pepper and actual 'melted' pepper jack cheese which tells me the burger was made with love. The Yard House Pepper Jack lacked a 'roasted' pepper and 'melted' cheese. Nonetheless, the flavor was almost the same. The truffle fries are delicious as I love my thin, crispy fries seasoned! Horrible service from the help, for lack of a better word was the worst! Ordered the onion ring tower, and buffalo cauliflower for starters, the onion rings where not fresh at all, the buffalo cauliflower was ok, ordered a beer and asked for water, the drinks did not get to my table promptly, I was halfway done with the appetizers before the beer getting served. Every time I walk into Yard House I get excited to try a new beer from their massive selection. This particular Yard House also had good service and good food, which was just a side bonus. I had a strawberry blonde ale which was delicious. I could smell the strawberry as soon as she set it down. I followed that with the black truffle cheeseburger which was amazing. I wasn't thrilled with the wheat bun, but that was just personal preference. Their burger itself was perfectly cooked at medium and the onion jam was a good balance to the truffle cheese. The fries were okay, but nothing special. The shinning light of the night for food was the appetizer: fried cheese curds. I would probably come back just for those. Between the gooey curds and the horseradish and sweet and sour sauces, it was pretty close to perfection. Between the great food, yummy beer, and sitting outside next to the marina, it was a great experience. I'd been coming here for a long time, then had a bad night with lousy service (snooty, unhelpful front desk staff), inadequate heaters outside on a cool & breezy night; about half of the heaters were not even working. I left and vowed never to return. Wrote to home-office management & got a very cordial reply. But I'm always ready to forgive one bad night, and who could not come back to a place with this gorgeous setting on the docks. What can i say about the yard house. If you are the beer drinker then this is the place for you, the beer list is to die for as for me i am more of a fruity drink kinda girl. There are these margaritas they make which are so good. You just have to be careful because with two of them you are already feeling kinda woooo. The bar is probably the best thing about this place especially if you are getting together with a group of friends or just going out for fun. Yard House rocks my socks off! Especially this particular location.... Clean restaurant interior, with a deck that overlooks the Rainbow Harbor. We only ever go during Happy Hour, which is the bomb as far as happy hours go. Half price appetizers and drinks between 3-6pm and then again between 10-1AM. Our personal favorites are the Seared Ahi and Poke Stack, nearly sushi bar quality and they each only cost around $6 during Happy Hour. The Peperoni and Mushroom pizza is also very good, as well as the sliders and chicken strips. Great bar food! The Beer is excellent as well. Always served at just the right temperature and with the right amount carbonation. Lots and lots to choose from, the menu breaks them down by region and type which helps you to really identfy what flavors you are drawn to. You can also chose to order tasters at $1 each. A great option if you're unsure. The last best thing about this particular Yard House is that it has great service! The waiters are very fast, courteous and knowlegeable. If you ask them for recomendations, most of them will turn into Beer Geeks who know their shit. Most recently we went to the Yard House in Downtown LA and we were EXTREMELY disappointed. So just keep in mind that not all Yard Houses are equal. This particular location is awesome though, and I recommend it highly (for Happy Hour). read more

I live around the corner and have been coming here for years, but have to say that this place is going downhill fast!!! Ever since the new ownership, there has been a steady decline of food quality, and staff!! This place used to be the place to go for good food, awesome happy hour, and cool staff. But sorry to say, that has changed! Was there two days ago for happy hour and wow, so disappointed! The spicy tune roll was gross (the tuna was way to fatty and chewy), calamari was sub par, and the wings were just ok... We had beer and martinis, but never even received our second round that we ordered, because our waitress forgot about us, as the drinks sat up at the bar!!?? That was enough for us to leave with a bad taste in our mouth! Another generic chain attempting to be something more. It has food. The food is edible. It has a view across the harbor with boats owned by mostly rich people. It has an extensive beer list. For many people, I suppose that suffices to make it a five star dining experience. The hostess was nice, sort of looked like Mandy Moore. I can appreciate that. Seated inside at one of those stool tables. I don't like these. I don't feel like eating my dinner on a stool...feels like being at the children's table at Thanksgiving. Anyway...unfortunately it was some football playoff weekend and that section of the restaurant was filled with said people and those said people were screaming every thirty seconds. I kept having spontaneous abortions...odd for a male. The only time I scream like that is during sex. Asked the hostess if we could sit outside away from the sub-zero IQ crowd and were accommodated quickly. Outside was alright. Except there were speakers blasting seventies music located over every table. Really loud. So join the Magdalenian crowd on the inside or relive my best cocaine years on the outside. Chose coke. The service were VERY slow. VERY slow. It was crowded, but the service was still SLOW. Had beer...since they've got several thousand varieties apparently. Why, I don't know. Look, people, stock a few good beers of different varieties, rotate them, but having a list of a hundred on hand is kind of pointless. The appetizer was the lobster, crab and artichoke dip. It tasted fine. The plate was huge, but the size is deceptive. Most of the plate was covered with tortilla chips. The actual dip in the middle is fairly small. You will consume maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the chips and the dip is gone. But it was alright. For the main I have the Blue Crab Cake Hoagie. The flavors didn't blend well for me. I have been going to yard house for what seems like forever now and I love it! Being a true loyal customer I did notice they stopped serving the artichoke spinach dip during Covid & their limited menu. I recently found out they were bringing it back Monday April 12 so you know I had to be there! I then received the news that it is no longer an artichoke spinach dip, it is now only a spinach dip. They also replaced the pita chips with crispy flatbread. I decided to try it, the spinach dip is super delicious so I'm here for it. The flatbread However does no Justice for what used to be, not to mention because it's so sharp I got a bunch of cuts on the roof of my mouth. This last time granted it was fathers day it was about 10 o'clock. I called 5 times and no answer. I got there at 10:15 they say sorry were not taking any guest. Looked online before I drove 20 mins and it says last call at 11:30. With no answer and last call at 11:30 in mind I figure I'd be ok. The host say no way. Can't help you. I say why didn't you answer. Their response was "sorry couldn't hear the phone" with 3 host there that's pretty absurd but what ever. I tell manager my story. He of course says sorry. Can't do much. My absolute favorite place to eat in the LBC...the original Yardhouse! The food is excellent, the drinks are plentiful, the atmosphere is vibrant, and the location is ideal. Best to sit outdoors on a sunny day overlooking the marina and enjoy a cold beer! (you can still get half a yard glasses which are fun to try and drink) If you want a great appetizer place, they cant be beat. I HIGHLY recommend the pairing of the firecracker wings with the light nectar taste of the Pear Cider....this combo cant be beat! For a little more spice, start with the spicy tuna roll, its a unique taste combination of tuna, avacado, and edamame that will make your head spin....and its healthy too! I actually am a fan of yardhouse, but NOT the one in Long Beach on Shoreline. The first time I went there a few weeks ago, there was a 2 hour wait WITH my reservation. My husband ans I just left and went somewhere else. So, tonight, we decide to give it another try with our families. We called in advanced for a reservation. The manager took our name and number (which was odd) and we got there early. Its a Thursday night, no one else was waiting. We get there and they tell us its AT LEAST AN HOUR WAIT, REGARDLESS of our reservations. I dont know what kind of management this place is under but the customer service is ridiculously poor. I will be going back to downtown la for my yardhouse fix. If there was an option for NO STARS, they'd get it!!! read more

THANK GOD MAX OUR WAITER SAW THAT. Most waiter don't see it and treat me badly. On top of that another manager came by to check on us named Aaron it really was a team work kind of place. This isn't the first time this has happened, a few years ago on my husband and I's anniversary we came to Yard House and recieved the same service. As if that wasn't enough, I thought I left my husband's glasses there, called in about a half hour ago expecting to be brushed off and waiting an hour on the phone, to my pleasant surprise a manager named Josh came to our aid he went looking for the my husbands glasses without putting us on hold till I had a third child and without the call dropping whooohooo!!! He didnt find it but Jesus we feel great that the service here is so outstanding! It really made going out to dinner so nice and definitely earns our recommendation to all of our friends and family that comes to visit Long Beach and trust me we have a ton that come every year. What a Sh-t show, literally. Our day was suppose to start with a late lunch and a day in Long Beach at the well known Yard House. When we arrived and tried to get on the seating list we were told to wait a moment while the hostess chatted with other employees. It took over 4 minutes just to get our name ON A SEATING LIST.While we waited the rest of the party moved to the bar where we were met by an unfriendly and understaffed bar . Two maybe 3 bartenders for the entire bar. 4 empty glasses sat on the bar for almost 10 minutes. Poor service for sure. Before we sat down to eat 3 of the party tried to use the restroom. WE COULD NOT! It was filthy. Paper on the floor, toilets leaking, no toilet paper and one toilet totally out of service and over flowing. We addressed the server and got brushed off like she was too busy to call someone. Granted this was a busy time, but not just us needed to use the restroom. We tried a final time to use the restroom before leaving and still disgusting Strike two for this Yard house. Strike 3 came with our dinner. One pasta dish, $24.99, was served dried out and cold, my two tacos, $19.99 were so spicy I could not finish them. I Ordered grilled fish tacos but got 2 very over seasoned tacos with Sriracha , could not even taste the overcooked fish. Disappointing after waiting 20 minutes at our table just to order. So need I say myself and the rest of my party will not be coming back to this Yard House or any others if this is how the establishments are run. I've been to the location in SD but this was my first time at the Long Beach location. Great views of the water and small boats. We sat on the patio. We were greeted promptly by our server, and though we arrived during changeover time, the first waitress made sure we were good to go with her successor. We ordered a few beers, I opted for La Chouffe belgian beer and then Hoegaarden (my old standby) and the others ordered German beer and Hackett (?) We started off with an appetizer, the egg rolls. Tasty and good to share. I ordered the seared ahi tuna sandwich, delicious and the fries are crispy shoestrings (my favorite!) The others got an ahi tuna salad and a steak sandwich. We were all too full for dessert. It was great in the beginning but got a bit chilly at the end of the meal. They have heat lamps going but we were in an odd spot and not really near to any. The place was surprisingly busy for a Monday night but I imagine that the restaurants' sales are high due to the location and reputation. Their beer selection is formidable, and stretches all along the bar. The service is good, attentive but not overbearing. It's casual dining done right. After hearing a lot about this place from my friend, I finally came out to have lunch here. The atmosphere is on the more sophisticated side. We got a table outside which over looked the harbor. There are umbrellas so the sun doesn't melt you. There are more beers and other drinks than there are food items. I don't have a problem with that. The lunch menu has a few of the entrées at reduced prices...and reduced portions. I debated between the (Mac and Cheese)^2 or the Spicy Jambalaya. JAMBALAYA WON! The Jambalaya was 10.95 on the lunch menu while it is originally 16.95. Same goes for the Mac and Cheese price wise. Hopefully the dinner portions are larger. My friend ordered the seared ahi sashimi and the chicken strips. The Ahi looked good from the few glances I got of it while I was devouring my jambalaya. The jambalaya was oily, but the blackened shrimp, ample pieces of crawfish, and andouille sausage was awesome. It wasn't spicy for me, but I have a a pretty high tolerance...I'm Asian we eat spicy stuff all the time. I definitely did not look up from my dish for a while...and I offered to share but...c'mon...we both knew I didn't really mean it. The chicken strips were lightly battered and the pieces were pretty big. It came with ranch, some sort of mustard sauce, and shoestring fries. The mustard sauce tasted like it had maple syrup in it...weird. I had the raspberry cider was light and the raspberry flavor wasn't overwhelming, and it wasn't super strong or anything. My friend got the hef, he wasn't happy with it since it was warm when they brought it to him. Warm beer...gross. The hostess was friendly and our waitress was nice...but whenever she came by she emitted this awkward vibe. This was my second time at this location and latest visit was a comedy of errors. Service was wacky and entertaining. Not including our table, the three closest tables included: spilled steaming hot tea all over the table and floor; a botched order with multiple manager visits offering free salads and food to go; and a manager visit at another table. Our table saw two items spilled -- french fries and soup -- that required replacing without us requesting it. We ordered one beverage at the start that came as we were finishing our entrees. That didn't show up on the bill because it was so late but why. Also, our beers came late and I was asked for a refill so late after these errors that I passed. We could have had four beers but ended up with two. That's how not to make money in the restaurant business. Outside the weird service problems, the food was good and beer was tasty. The location right on the harbor is nice. And there are big TVs everywhere with sports. Can't say I'll rush back here but I won't back away. Let me rephrase that, of all the places that I love to grab cheap pints at, Yard House has the best appetizers. And the fact that they're half priced during HH doesn't hurt at all either. We had no specific plans for dinner, but it was a beautiful night out...so we decided to take a stroll towards Shoreline Village and see what we found. While walking along the dock, we noticed Yard House had a large patio area with heaters (it was October and getting a bit chilly as the sun went down), so we figured good call. Even though they were quite packed, we had no problem getting seated on the patio so we could take in the beautiful view. The beer selection was a bit overwhelming, but if I was a local, I would LOVE it. I can't remember the last time I saw such an extensive list of brews. My favorites of the ones we tried were the Sea Dog Bluepaw Wild Blueberry and the Widmer Hefeweizen. We started out with an order of fried calamari, which was very good. Then for dinner I had the roast beef dip, and the flavor was intense. I don't know if it's the garlic or some other seasoning they use, but it was a really great sandwich (and I'm somewhat of a french dip connoisseur). I would've loved to try something sweet for dessert, but with such a long list of beers to try, our tanks were full. Service was great all meal long, and the well was never dry. This place always seems to be busy, so if you have large group, I would recommend making a reservation. I was hungry when I checked in, and it happened to be around 4pm, so I figured I would swing over for happy hour. Luckily they serve happy hour on the patio (win) so I sat outside. It has a nice view of the Long Beach Harbor area, and the patio is lively and well staffed. The happy hour menu is really great. Has everything from ahi tuna, to wings, to nachos. Seriously, I had a tough time deciding. If I remember correctly, all the happy hour appetizers are half off. I settled with the ahi tuna and the vegetarian hot wings (seriously people, these things are really good and not tofu or weird tasting). I know beer wine and I believe cocktails are also on discount. I was seriously happy with my visit. I brought my coworkers back for dinner 2 nights later.. It was super busy at the time, so we had a 20 min wait. We found a spot at the bar and the bartender took great care of us. He even sat there and listened to me modify one of their specialty cocktails to make it what I wanted (sorry sometimes I am a drink snob!) and was super helpful. When we sat down for dinner everyone was happy with their food and service. Since I am really spoiled living in Houston with so many local amazing eateries, I was seriously happy with The Yard House. You gotta love the Yard House. How can you not love an upscale sports bar with delicious food and water views. We have been here several times, for both lunch & dinner, and have yet to be disappointed. The menu has a huge selection of food (oh yeah, and beers!!!). I think they have the best BBQ Chicken Salad. Yum yum yum! But on our visits we have also shared lettuce wraps, edamame, and pizza. All delish. On our most recent visit with some out of town friends, I had a turkey burger which was good. My boyfriend had the jambalaya which he said was spicy and very tasty. Our guests enjoyed the chicken enchilada stack and a chicken rice bowl. The yard house was a hit. I'm sure well be back here many more times, hopefully will continue to be impressed. read more
