We were seated right away because they have many seating with clean spacious interior. Our server Long and the other staff were all accommodating and very friendly. We ordered the sauteed lamb with black pepper, the shredded potatoes with sour pickles, and the boiled fish in hot and spicy chilies oil. They were all so delicious. Ordered Couple beef , Toothpick lamb and chong ching chicken. Out of the 3 dishes, the Toothpick lamb was the best. The Couple beef and the Chong Ching chicken were lacking a bit of flavor. Really authentic Sichuan cuisine and northeastern cuisine here! The guobaorou 锅包肉 is some of the best I've had in the bay area, the spicy dishes are really good too. I've been eyeing this place ever since it took over Chi. So finally, two weeks ago, my boss and I went here for a quick lunch. The restaurant was packed when we got there but luckily we were able to snag a table. The layout didn't change much from Chi but new décor is way cuter. Now about the menu, they have a lot of items but not enough pictures so I had to use IG and of course Yelp to see what people are ordering and their recommendations. Here is what we end up ordering: Roasted ribs with chili and peanuts 2/5 Baised lotus with pork belly in bean sauce 5/5 Chong qing spicy noodles with peas 3/5 I was looking forward to the roasted ribs because it looked really good and packed with lots of flavor. Unfortunately, the dish fail short. It was very dry and not seasoned enough, even those chili, onion and peanut toppings didn't help. It was a good thing we ordered the chong qing spicy noodle dish to help wash down the dryness of those ribs. The broth of the chong qing was tasty, too bad the noodles itself were too soft for my liking. The braised lotus with pork belly in bean sauce was my favorite. The lotus were tender but also crunchy and I love the sauce it was cooked in. Overall, this place was good but kind of too expensive for lunch. We ordered 3 dishes, a side of rice and 2 ice water and our bill for lunch was $56 (tax and tip included). read more

The food here is only okay - quality of the meat overall was average or below average (we got the lamb). Soup was sort of bland and not noteworthy. Service was also just normal but I don't have high expectations and to be honest, it was not a big deal. Portion size is pretty good - I enjoyed how much food they gave us. I had an interesting experience here because I really liked the sauce and flavors that they used but the quality of meats was so so, for both of our meat dishes. I was slightly ok with it since the opposite isn't as great (good meat but bad flavors). It's just something to consider. We got 口水雞 (saliva chicken? I think it's supposed to mean chicken that's so good you salivate?) and I thought the spicy oil sauce was great. It was very spicy and maybe a hair above my comfort level but I liked it quite a bit. It had a bit of that numbing flavor too. I thought the chicken pieces were mediocre, a lot of bone pieces though. Cumin lamb, the flavor was great! Pretty good so far but def on the pricier side. I havent tried the more common dishes like the map tofu and noodles, but i was impressed so far with the dishes I did try. Food: Grilled Seven Ribs with Garlic- Theres mad garlic and onions all over this. I really enjoyed this dish. The ribs werent fall off the bone like some ppl have said, but it was pretty damn close! If you've had texas bbq you would know fall off the bone. The ribs were pretty tender, and it was just really flavorful overall. Steamed Pork Spare Rib w/ glutinous rice w/ lotus leaf- You def dont see this dish everyday. Imagine like instead of chicken wings you get a spare rib. And instead of breading, you get the sticky rice. Really solid dish, but I enjoyed the ribs more. Overall, I did enjoy the dishes that I did have, but the pricing has kept me from coming back more often. I do think the two dishes I did have are worth trying tho so if you are in the area, def give this place a shot. read more

We were expecting to have Taiwanese food at Chi but they gave way to the newly opened Spicy Way. The new restaurant was only on its second day of operations. The staff seemed very friendly and inviting so we decided to give them a try. The new menu is full of Szechuan dishes and we were very pleased with the meal we ordered. Fresh fish soup with soft tofu 5 stars excellent! Marinated Egg Plant appetizer 5 stars comes in mortar and comes with a pestle so you can mash the eggplant into the sauce Pork Kidney 5 stars comes lightly marinated in a celery and cilantro sauce Smoked Pork Belly 4 stars stir fried with veggies Steamed Pork ribs with sticky rice 5 stars comes with sweet white rice and dark wild rice. What makes this an absolute 5 star is the service. After the diner we stayed and talked. They served free dessert, much more tea. And cleaned the table, also tell us that there is no rush. They have huge portion sizes and really flavorful dishes!! I personally like their cereal prawns which I found really delicious. Their grilled japanese tofu on sizzling plate with the mushrooms for today is also really good - light, saucey, and really tasty. I usually order the same three or so dishes from Szechuan places, so I may have a bit of tunnel vision. - Slice Fish with Hot Pepper and Chilies in Boiled Oil This is my partner's favorite. The fish is soft but doesn't fall apart as you pick it up, and it's oily (but that's the gimmick). I thought it lacked a bit of saltiness but otherwise they nailed it. Usually other places have a shiz ton of bean sprouts but they kinda made up for it with how much fish they gave! - F2 Griddle Pork Intestines with in Dry Pot This is my favorite dish. I generally expect this to be crispy fried - however I'm sure that it got soggy because of takeout. But the taste is perfect imo! I'd hope that when I can dine in it'll be crispy~ - D39 Sauteed Fillet of Lamb with Cumin Cumin lamb is also a go-to, and this was not bad. It's a bit on the oilier side but I think it was seasoned well. Last time, we didn't order rice... but we just let it cook it at home while we drove to pick it up, so simple enough! Extremely authentic, with a touch of creative presentation of food. Spicy food doesn't have to be too extreme, but you can tell them to make it more or less spicy. Love the peacock decors on the walls and lovely matching green tables & chairs. Pretty clean! Great for family style dinners. Pricey, but worth the experience. Service is pretty good for Chinese place. Nice, spacious seating. Food is mediocre though. The fried porkchop sauce is good, but half of the coating is too thick and some coating is warped inside the meat and taste like wet steamed coating. The ribs are not done right, taste like it was water boiled as a whole, then grilled for a little bit. There is no flavor to the meat itself without the seasoning sprinkled on top. read more

Our usual dish we order, 傷心凉粉, only got 1/3 of the usual portions.肥羊魚normally is full tray and now only half. And other dishes vice verser about the same ratio. Awesome place! I had the pleasure of coming here on a busy Thursday afternoon. It took 15-20 minutes for me and my friend to get seated, but that was reasonable seeing how busy it was. The inside of the restaurant is fairly large, and the seating includes booths, tables and chairs that are very decorative. One thing that threw me off immediately was the lack of a plate of seasoning (like pepper, salt, soy sauce, chili oil) but I guess they season their food well enough! I'm a big fan of spicy Chinese food, especially noodle dishes. When I saw their noodle soup variety, I had to come give it a try. Unfortunately, I came on a day where I wasn't feeling well and had a fever. It was honestly a terrible idea, but I still tried my best to enjoy my food, and since this place is awesome, I did! I ordered Chongqing noodle soup and shared a lunch special beef stir fry with peppers with my friend. Both were really good! The stir fry had really crunchy chili peppers that had a lot of flavor, and it came in a generous portion. I was pleasantly surprised. The Chongqing noodles flavor wise was great. It tasted how I expected it to be. I wish there were more nuts and toppings on it, because there was a really large portion of noodles, enough to share with another person. However, I had this noodle soup to myself, so I ended up taking half of it home. Another complaint I have is the fact that the noodles are pretty overcooked. I prefer al dente noodles in all of my noodle/pasta dishes, but that is a preference! For the service.. When the restaurant became empty, the workers were hard to reach. It took a lot of effort to get them to refill our water, but they were apologetic when we had to go out of our way to ask. They gave the bill at a timely manner and were kind about giving us to-go containers. Overall, this place was awesome. It exceeded my expectations, and I see myself coming back when I'm in the mood for spicy Chinese food. I am looking forward to trying dishes I see other Yelp users love from this place, but the ones I already tried were great! The interesting thing about this restaurant is that it seems to change owner quite frequently. Anyhow, I thought the reviews on Yelp was quite positive so both my friend and I decided to give it a try. As the restaurant name suggests, they are known for regional spicy Chinese food. The two of us ordered the sauteed lamb with black pepper, stir-fried loofah squash and a whole fish cooked with black bean and soft tofu. All in all, the sauteed lamb was exceptionally tasty. the lamb was soft and tender and full of flavors from the unique blend of spices. The use of the chili pepper was just right and the addition of the celery added a nice fresh and crunchy element making the entire dish very palatable. The loofah squash was okay and as expected but the fish was covered in too much sauce making the dish really salty. The soft tofu was a nice touch and we wish there were more tofu. Anyhow, 2 out of the 3 dishes were good and the service was prompt. One thing to be aware of is their booth seating. Since both my friend and I are petite Asian women, the table from the booth was too far and the table height too tall which made eating not as enjoyable. I would prefer to sit in standard seat and table next time I dine there. read more

Got a lot of spicy food varieties and most of them are very authentic Sichuan/hu-Nan style. My favorite is the fry smelt fish,chilling beef noodle soup with paper corn that can numb your lips and tongue. You can try more varieties if go with group of people. Service - Excellent, attentive, and personal. The waitresses ask if you enjoyed each dish after they collect it. BBQ Ribs - Very good for a non-Korean, Asian restaurant. The spicy seasoning can easily be removed. The meat was tender, savory, soft, and fell off the bone. Fish Filet (One with green, one with red seasoning) - Spicy, soft, warm, gushing. Cauliflower - Slightly spicy, soft, a hint of crunch, warm, and tender. Eggplant - Not spicy, oddly wonderful for a Chinese restaurant. Typically it's oily, but the amount of oil was just right. Fungus - Cold, crisp, refreshing. Oxtail - Tasted like jerky, too much bone, too little meat, amazing honey flavor. The pool of the sauce at the bottom is worth taking home. Located in what is probably one of the most cursed locations in Milpitas, Spicy Way offers peacock-accented seating and an excellent selection of Chinese foods. We entered a hungry party of 9 and left satisfied. For vegetables, we got string beans with eggplants (excellently seasoned and not slimy at all) and pea sprouts (more or less what you'd expect out of Chinese-style pea sprouts). We also got Japanese-style fried tofu on a sizzling plate, which was doused in a savory sauce that had an..... interesting flavor to it; it wasn't off-putting, but it wasn't particularly appealing either. We also ordered grilled pork spare ribs (sliced at the table, more "flavored" than it was "spicy", and a smidge overcooked), steamed pork belly over lotus leaves (absolutely delicious and messy), and black pepper lamb (which was, without a doubt, spicy but delicious). And for carbs, we had an order of yang chow fried rice (acceptable but not outstanding) and white rice (kinda hard and not-fluffy). Overall, everything was pretty delicious. After months of trying to find a new spicy Chinese food place I think I have finally found it!! This place has it all. Super spicy food. Great desserts. Good service. My boyfriend and I ordered about five dishes and every single one of them was better than we expected. I really like the sweet and sour spare ribs! Those were by far the best dish of the night. Plus it's really hard to find a place that serves jiu niang tangyuan (sweet fermented rice ball soup) and they give you a pretty large bowl for the price. We had a later lunch today so decide to try couple dishes at this new restaurant. It looks like the chef are from Sichuan or can make some real nice dishes. We had twice cooked pork and one spicy chicken pot. The twice cooked pork has preserved cabbage in it which I never tried before but it tastes good. As for the chicken, it was said to be a cage free chicken but it was actually meat chicken for supermarket, quite disappointed. Overall, I would give it 3.5 stars. read more

ehhh, didn't have a good dining experience here. The staff barely speaks english, which is fine, but they are not so friendly and they grunt as a form of communication. Can someone please smile? Food was just okay.....nothing to make me want to come back. The food was not spicy at all. We ordered the tofu dish, fish filet with two spices, lotus root, and spare ribs. Worst of all, the food came out one by one....and it took a long time for them it arrive. By the time we were finishing up, I guess there were people waiting out front. The person drops off the check (while we were still eating) and not a minute later comes by to pick up the check. um no....we're not paying until we're finished with our meal. So finally, we're finished, paid the bill and we're packing up leftovers......and they server starts rushing us by cleaning up our table while REPEATEDLY saying "thank you, bye bye.....thank you bye bye" to get us out. So rude!!! We literally just finished our food. Make the 8 min drive up the 680 for Spices. Their food is waaaay tastier and treats their customers better. read more
