I rarely go to Yummy.com because this place is pricey but when I want to pick up something really quick, fresh and delicious for under $10 for lunch, this place is it. (FYI: It is right across the street from my work.) I usually get one of their fresh sandwiches for under $8 pre tax or their half rotisserie chicken with french fries for $5.99 pre tax. I absolutely love their pesto chicken sandwich because you get thick slices of chicken, fresh slice of tomato, thick slices of mozzarella cheese, pesto spread and on some really great bread. It is delicious because you taste freshness and quality. Also the sandwich doesn't look huge but believe, you will be full after the first half of your sandwich. Seriously, everyone stop complaining about the price. You have to expect it when you are in nicer areas, everything is pricier. Plus this place is in Playa Vista, you cannot expect the food to be a $1. read more

The made to order sandwiches and salads are pretty good here. Highlights are the Fancy Chicken salad or sandwich and the Provence & Brie sandwich. The ingredients are fresh and you can pretty much make any substitutions you want with little or no additional cost. That said, this is the most inconvenient convenience store around. Man they are SLOW. The sandwich makers aren't individually that slow, but they just do not have enough people working the deli line. At lunchtime, expect to wait at least 10 to 15 minutes after ordering before your food is ready. The deli prices aren't too bad, considering the sandwiches are much better than anything Subway or Quiznos has to offer. The prices for the fresh produce and other grocery items are outrageous though ($3.00 for a rice krispie treat?! You've got to be kidding me). If you're in a hurry, try ordering online. I just received my third order in a row where we were shorted items. That in itself isn't that big of a deal especially during a pandemic, but each time these guys charged me for what I didn't get. To make matters worse if you call the playa vista location it consistently will say the line is busy. Note to management: a service provider is measured by its customer service. If no one can get ahold of you then that speaks volumes about your company. I also sent an email months ago when this happened the first time, and never got a response. All in all it seems that yummy's MO is to charge a premium due to the times, and then not give a shit about service. I like this little local market. Some prices are very marked up and some are actually better deals compared to a big grocery chain. Overall they have a great selection of products. My only advice would be to have employees browse through sell by and expiration dates more often. There's been a few times when I've come home and the product had a sale date by of a couple of days before I purchased it. This is a small market that has a small deli. They deliver groceries as well to the local community (Playa Vista). I came here because of an excellent Yelp review and was in need of lunch. I read in some of the previous reviews that the chicken pesto sandwich was good so I ordered it. First off, the sandwich was delicately wrapped in paper and then placed in an individual box which was real nice. The bread was perfect and freshly baked. The ingredients were wholesome, nutritious, and fresh. The sandwich was about near perfect as it gets (see picture). The employees were helpful and pleasant. And special praise to the tall guy that talked to me about Yelp reviews. While I waited for my sandwich, I walked the aisles of this market and found it well stocked. Our go-to place for sumptuous sandwiches and caesar salad! It doesn't hurt that it is right down the street and open till midnight daily. I've lost track of the number of times we have ordered from Yummy and it is rare that anything is a-miss. My favorite is the chicken pesto, but the BLT (tip: add swiss!) is so tasty too. The ingredients are fresh, the quality is amazing and you can usually customize your sandwich to what you're feeling. The prices here can be steep and the aisles are stuffed with all sorts of things. YUMMY.COM is a lifesaver!!! I get home around 10:30pm and they are open until 12midnight so I am able to grab a healthy dinner at odd hours. My typical dinner is half a rotisserie chicken + 1 side salad from the salad bar which typically comes out to $7ish total. The rotisserie chicken is so juicy and tender with the right amount of flavor. hmmm.... I am getting hungry just thinking about it. The deli is awesome! they make the bestest sandwiches and sells fresh bread from La Brea bakery. This means I don't have to waste my gas or my time trekking to the mid-wilshire area for fresh bread. I always buy a loaf of the fresh french bread for the week. Also, the pasta bar never disappoints! Also, their prices may be a bit more than your local Ralphs, but their food quality is fresh at Whole Foods level. To me, I really don't feel like there is a price difference because you get what you paid for. I stopped shopping at Ralphs for almost 2 years now because my purchases always turned moldy very very very quickly. I definately do not have that problem at YUMMY. Also, I buy my mochi ice cream from YUMMY instead of Trader Joe's because (1) the prices are the same and (2) the mochi at Trader Joe's have gone bad on me a couple of times being flaky and hard but the mochi ice cream at YUMMY taste super fresh everytime. so in conclusion, you get what you paid for at YUMMY! delicious and fresh!!! read more

This place is really great on the deli side! I recently sold some friends a Condo in Playa Vista and they said I absolutely had to try this place--so we did. I had the seasoned roast beef sandwich--very delicious--and a bowl of their chili--very tasty!. I ordered a Sailor juice blend, or something with the word Sailor in it, it was very green and tasty with ginseng kicking up the flavor by several notches. Yummy is a nice little store situated on the square in Playa Vista. It's not terribly big, but it is more spacious and offers a much larger selection than a traditional convenience market. The prices are steep, and the store is poorly lighted. The aisles are surpisingly cramped considering a selection that is slim at best. That's the bad news. Here is the good news, this store rocks as compared to a 7-Eleven (except no Slurpees), They have a modest produce section and other amenities that a full service grocery store offers, but in a compact and, most importantly, convenient manner. So don't expect a mini-Whole Foods, but if you keep your expectation modest, you will find this market a Yummy choice. read more

You're basically saving on time and paying for the added convenience which of course is the same with any liquor store across the street vs a large supermarket like Albertsons/Ralphs. This place provides better snacks than those of the vending machines at my work establishment. It carries cookies, chips, fruits, ice cream, ordinary grocery store needs. I'm really bummed. I've been ordering frequently from Yummy for years, first Santa Monica and now (due to a move) Playa Del Rey, spending many thousands of dollars and recommending widely. Something has happened over the last six months or so. Their motto "we deliver in about 30 minutes" is no longer accurate -- it's at least 60, often more like 90-120. I've been on hold now for 20 minutes for an order I placed 90 minutes ago. I've had lots of back and forth with Yummy management over the years around a variety of their business changes but this is it. I also got a side of the seafood salad which looked completely different from the picture online and I found it really unappetizing and I didn't eat more then two bites of it. Impressive product line for a small store but never try to return anything! Manager was incredibly unhelpful over a $5 product, particularly given that I am 8 months pregnant.
