Best chinese buffet ive been to since i moved to the area. Went twice before writing a review. The first time we went it was busy, but we were sat right away anyways. Second time, it was super slow and still, everything was hot, fresh, and LABELED( including the sushi which is huge for me since im allergic to some fish). service is quick, everything is clean!!! I love this place, it's cheap, they serve a huge variety of food and you can actually buy them by the pound, which is very convenient. The sushi is amazing the the cheapest way to buy them, by the pound. The only reason I don't go there more often is that it's way too dangerous for my figure. I tend to eat more. read more

Wow, after reading a lot of reviews here on yelp i've decided to leave Hyde Park and go to Revere to try Yutaka "japanese" & Chinese Buffet in Revere - 14 miles away my home. What a disappointment! FOOD They do not have a lot of options. Quite few to be honest. Mostly chicken and just 3 ou 4 opcoes of sea food. 1 Pork. 3 Vegetables. Sushi was ok but very limited. 2 Fruits. 2 cake. 4 ice cream flavors. That is all! THE SERVICE Oddly for a chinese buffet the waiting service was ok and gentle. But the manager or owner - i don know - a short hair lady around 50`s, she made me feel so bad and ashamed. We went there last sunday to celebrate my birthday. Myself, wife, brother and 2 kids: 5 and 2 years old. Wow, the lady went to my table more than 20 times staring at us with a spooky face. After around 1 hour there she started to go to my table checking the watch all the time and making signs with her hands (like: they wont leave this place???). I saw the place starting to get busier and i was there for more than 1 hour. I understand that but it was sunday and you don`t go out to be hurried by the manager when you go to a "all you can eat" restaurant. Now you my think that we have eaten tons of food, right??? No, when you have kids with that age you barely can serve yourself. We spent a lot of time trying to make them quiet as possible because of the Spooky but i won`t hit or punish them to be children and make some noise (not much, just normal laughs and shouts that childrens normally at this point do, when enjoying the day with their parents). i don`t go to a chinese to eat in 20 minutes and go. It was not a fast food. We served the seafood (a doughy shrimp, plain shrimp tasteless and salty clams). After that, Chicken + rice and finally deserts (only the jelly was good at least for my kids - the other 3 or 4 options was bought in a bakery or supermarket). THE BILL My brother got so upset with Spooky that he left and went to wait for us in the car. My wife went to bathroom to change baby`s diaper and took 15 minutes to comeback. In the meantime Spooky brought the bill with the biscuits and came back 3 times to pick the money. I paid to be relieved of her face - i was about the cross my breaking point and make a scene. The bill was 42 dollars. Cheap for 3 adults and 2 kids but very expensive for the quality of the food and service. I gave her 50 bucks and she assumed that she deserved the 8 dollars change as tip. Of course we were about to do it but not because of her. But this suppose to be OUR DECISION. She did not bring the change to us. In fact she stole it. My wife convinced me to let it go. FINALLY... Waste of time and a lot of stress for nothing. I have never been treated like that before. My wife decided to leave when she came back to the table without finish her desert. Visit them several times, the food is always delicious. Big variety of sushi and rolls. they even have a sushi bar, where all food prepared to order (never seated there myself). As a down side - not many options for vegetarians. Other than that 5 star. read more

This is one of the best buffets I have went to in my life and I have been to a lot. They are not one of those buffets that have 10000 options and they all taste crappy. They have a modest selection and the execution of the dishes is spot on. I saw the coming soon sign for a while and was just waiting for it to be open. Luckily when I went there last week it was open. The waitstaff don't have that hollow why-are-you-here stare that you get at many buffets. They were actually welcoming and seemed genuinely friendly. The food is on two long buffet tables. One for the hot foods and one for the cold. They have sushi options and not just dried out California rolls either. I ate two plates (what can i say I am getting old and my appetite is waning...lol). I finished every bite in both plates and that is rare for a crazy , chubby, picky eater like myself. The buffet is just $8.99 for lunch and $12.99 for dinner. It is $1 more on weekends. If you are not a buffet person you can also order off of the menu. I am going back sometime this week. This was the worst buffet ever. First the mens bathroom was filthy. There were spitballs filled with poo. No one flushed and it seems like the ceiling tiles were broken. I had diariaaah (not good stool) when i ate the food. The workers did not wear gloves and one of the managers were so rude. Never go on a Monday afternoon lunch. The waitress was beyond rude. I never ever complain about service but she was beyond rude! It's too bad because the food and selection is pretty good but when you're waited on by someone that ignorant it just makes you not want to come back. I have been coming here for years now. Primarily for sushi but I eat some Chinese from time to time. Have I had better sushi? Yes. But this is pretty darn good and for the price? Cant be beat. They have very fast turn over so nothing is sitting very long at all ( especially the sushi.). I really don't get some of the critical reviews. My family went to try out Yutaka's Saturday night buffet. It was well attended with no more than 1-2 tables empty at any one time for the duration. The hot buffet table had about 20 items which included soups, standard appetizers (scallion pancakes, gyozas, shumais, spring rolls, chicken wings), meat and vegetable entrees, pad thai, fried rice and lo mein. The soups were disappointing, both the miso and the hot and sour were watered down and rather tasteless. The appetizers were more palatable, with the chicken satays and fried chicken wings being spot on, but the scallion pancake was dense and chewy. The hot entrees were all standard fares which included shrimp with fried vegetables and General Gao's chicken. The best entree of the evening belonged to their salt and pepper shrimp & calamari. While not up to gourmet standards, these hot dishes were competitive with other American-Chinese restaurants in the area. Many reviewers raved about their langoustines, but the ones we sampled cannot compare with those available down south or in Europe. It did not have the expected sweetness nor the firm mouth feel of the fresh crustacean. The grilled salmon on the other hand was seasoned well and quite tasty. The star of the whole buffet resides in the cold entrees' table. A large number of sushi and sashimi items listed in the restaurant's menu were on offer at the table. They did use good quality fishes so the end products tasted fresh and competitive with other Japanese restaurants in the area. Dessert selections consisted of fresh fruits, pastries, and ice cream. Service was unobtrusive and diligent. More importantly, we never felt that we were being rushed along through our meals. Overall Yutaka Buffet represents a good value for family dining. read more

Hmmmm...Yutaka Buffet....Strange, but for some reason, the inside has a distinct smell. Every time I go, I smell it. It's not your typical chinese food buffet aroma, which is weird because they have your typical chinese fare. Either way, FOR A BUFFET, it's good. Don't go in expecting the freshest sushi you've ever eaten, but the noodles are good, cheese rangoons just okay, and the deserts aren't too bad. Well, i went to this place with a copule of Friends for luch and it was good. Average chinese buffet food. I want there 2 more times with My husband. We live 5 min from the place and it is a quick fix choice, food is ready , you come , eat, go ... I went there for dinner with my husband again this week and got SICK, both of us got SICK. I ate some sushi, vegetables,I always drink hot tea, and fried rolls. Basically what I eat at buffets. Nothing too much or unusual. As we left the place I started cramping and nausea came in. Well, we were pretty sick, I was worse than husband. I could not sleep for 2 nights, diarrhea, cramps , nausea, walking around uncomfortable all night last night and still not able to go to work, nauseous, cramping, headaches. I am not going back to this place. I ate a plate of variety sushi from the buffet, and a spring roll, some vegetables. Not overeating . My husband does not like sushi, he ate fried rice, fish, chicken broccoli , salads, pink pork, crab Rangoon . Well, I drank hot tea, he had a Pepsi . Basically I got worse but we both got SICK. So someone recommended Yukata Chinese buffet to me. They said it was good and affordable, so my mother and I decided to give it a whirl. First impression was average, decor was outdated and carpet was extremely worn, but the food was very decent. I was sitting at my table trying to digest my food to go for another round of chow when a waitress who was standing in the bussing station by the bar, in plain view, starts coughing. She sounded like she had bronchitis perhaps. She then tilts her head over the bin of dirty dishes and excavates a long ass loogie into the dirty dishes. She did it twice. Hacking both times. I'm not talking spitting here. I'm talking hacking two long friggin' loogies into the dishes. My jaw dropped. I then heard the hostess tell her something in Chinese. I then looked at the hostess and she looked at me. I know she saw what the waitress did and I know she knows that I saw her too. Obviously at that point, my mother and I stopped eating after I told her what I saw. We got up to pay our bill. The same hostess met us at the register. I told her what I witnessed. Originally she didn't say much then when I said she hocked in the dirty dishes she chimed in " no, she do in garbage. " We told her we were grossed out and would not return unfortunately. She said ok. Bye bye! $30 down the drain, or toilet. Word of advise if you go. Bring your own cutlery and plate. :/ read more

I love Buffets, but never go to any, because the quality is always bad. The quality of food here is very good. Could use a few more items, but I love the Lobster sauce, and they have freshly cooked white rice always on hand, as well as Pork fried rice. The Crab Rangoon rate up there with some of the best I've had. I usually get General Gau's chicken, which is admittedly not spicy, but very good other wise. My only complaint is that there is almost no beef dishes. I also LOVE the hot and sour soup. And the best part is, all the waitstaff are very nice and attentive. I think people that don't go to Buffets, forget that the waitstaff at a buffet usually are useless. but I love those girls! read more

Ehhh where should I start... This place is pretty roomy and its pretty comfortable. Thats all i can say that was nice about this place. They also have a big TV for the bar i guess which is pretty nice. Now comes the bad stuff. The food here is below average! They have a small variety of chinese food and really really little amount of sushi. They'll place out sashimi every so often... if you're too slow and its all gone, then better luck next time. The chinese food here makes me really really thirsty for some reason. The price was around $15-$20 dollars for dinner, kinda forgot about this restaurant until my friend mentioned about it lately. Also, a little tip for people, its almost impossible to walk here from wonderland. My friends and i decided to travel here without a car and it was such a long hike. I rather use that $20 for some other buffet closer than this one. You have to get off wonderland and walk through streets and roads just to get to this buffet. DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO END UP DIARRHEA OR A BAD STOMACH!!!! Horrible service and not so great food! The hostess was ridiculously rude to the point that I wouldn't even go back even if the food was good. One of the pork dumplings that I had gotten was undercooked and was still pink inside. I felt the need to inform them because many other customers would be eating the food. When I informed the hostess whom I also think was the owner, she didn't even apologize and went to grab another dumpling and ripped it apart and told me its suppose to be pink inside. I eat this dumpling all the time in many other restaurants and it is definitely not pink inside. Pink undercooked pork is very unsafe to eat. She was rude and arrogant when a simple apology would have done and a reassurance that she would ensure that the meat would be properly cooked. On top of that, she watched our table eat with an evil eye until we were finished. IT IS A DANGER TO EAT HERE. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH. I have reported them to the city health officials because the fact that they believe that pork should be pink is a danger to all of their customers. read more

So my friend said that this place was good. When we got there most of the food trays were empty of sushi, and Maki's ect ect. So I just took other stuff and figure I'd wait until they made fresh ones. We were literally there 20 min and on our last bite of the last piece of food item. When one of the waitresses came to drop off our bill and started graving our plates with food still on them. And said "oh you done? Ok". We didnt even have the chance to say we were not done yet. So she took the bill and a few min later another waitress came and just dropped it on the table. Didn't even wait for us to respond to her question. No biatch we were not done eating!!!!. I payed $15 for 2 California roll pieces, 1 sweet potato tempura, 3 crab rangoon, and 1 sesame ball (that I didn't have a chance to eat because the plate was taken before I could say anything. Bottom line. I would not recommend this place unless you can eat fast, and if you are in a rush to be somewhere. Very disappointing. read more
