Not the cheapest in town, but Dan is still reasonable and fair. Kitchen sink clogged up, after two plumbers came out, both snaked with no success, we called these guys. Mike (the son) answered the phone and scheduled the appointment, while Dan (the dad) came out with another fellow, the two of them are hilarious working together, good chemistry, free entertainment for your money. Mike doesn't do snake anymore for kitchen jobs so he brought in the hydro-jetting machine which uses high pressure water at end of a thin water hose which pushes down the grease, etc. Within 20 mins, he put the pipes back together and the sink was cleared again! They definitely know what they're doing and I would use them again. read more

Ridiculous pricing. Scare tactics. Needed a newly purchased water softener installed. I have the softener, but need it connected to the main water line and a drain line connected. The unit is sitting on the ground right next to the main line and an outlet for power in the basement. 3 lines total to connect and you're done. Bonus points if they mount it to the wall in case there's an earthquake but i didn't ask for that. Dan asked if it was salt based, asked where I purchased it, claimed that salt based water softeners cause dry skin and my hair to fall out, and then mentioned that they sold non-salt-based softeners for $4000 installed. How convenient. Nice scare tactic.. When asked to simply install the new unit I already purchased, he quoted a price of $1800 to install with mounting it to the wall + warranty. It's a half day's work at best. Their "fixed price for installing a softener" he says. No thanks. Go rip some other people off.. At that price i'll have my attorney do it as i'm sure it'll be more reasonable.. read more

Nothing worse than plumbing problems, or wait yes there is, when you can't reach a plumber when you have those problems....well, not Pros Plumbing because I called them at night when my kitchen sink backed up, spewing water out of my washing machine drain, and they were there to talk me through it and put my mind at ease. My problem was actually minor and I was able to wait til morning for them to come out, which they did the very next morning. But it was nice to talk to someone and get that reassurance that it's nothing major and my house won't be flooding overnight. I was happy to see Dan bright and early in the morning and away went my troubles down the drain! We even had a little toliet issue that he looked at for us while he was there. I could not agree more with Tracy T's comments! Please do not use this company... I wish I would've read the Yelp reviews prior to calling ProsPlumbing. Isn't "Pro" supposed to stand for "Professional"? There is nothing Professional about them. My issue was with my washer line backing up into the kitchen sink. When I first called, Cheryl wanted my credit card number prior to them coming out. I asked her why, and she noted because I was the landlord and I wasn't going to be on-sight at the time of the visit. I refused to give it, noting that my tenant was going to pay. I should have read this as the first bad sign of things to come. Just like what happened with Tracy, the Owner Dan came out and told my tenant that I needed my kitchen sink line to be Hydro jetted out in a matter of minutes. He didn't even attempt to investigate this issue. He called me from the site, and noted the same and that the cost would be over 350 dollars, I was blown away. I asked him how much it would cost to just snake out the line, and he noted that they don't use snakes. Another bad sign. My tenant was stuck with a service charge of $59 dollars. The next day, I called another plumber who came out and actual did work. He snaked my washer line, and fixed my issue for 35 dollars! I called Dan back noting this and asked him for a refund for the service charge, and he went off on me on the phone... I couldn't believe his tone and unprofessional language that he used. The pump in the crawling space underneath the house didn't work.The crawling space was flooded. I called this company and Dan came an hour later to take a look and gave me an estimate for the job. He asked $500 for the job and $200 for a new pump. He made me call my husband to make sure we are ok with the price. It was quite expensive but giving a circumstances we agreed. For two hours Dan was pumping out water with his pump ( siting in his car) Then he tried to reach my pump but there were still a lot of water. So he left, promising me to finish this job the next day. He came at 10 in a morning and told me that now we have to pay 1500 for the job to be done. And a new pump will probably cost up to $600. We wright him a check for $500 just to get rid of him. I purchased a pump for $50 on sale at Home Depot and cleaned my old pump myself. It works now. read more

I too almost got at $385 bill for a $149 drain cleanout. Does a Los Gatos address justify the charges? Google maps gives address as 801 University, Yelp says Alberto Way and they admit to neither location over the phone. At one time they had an affiliation with someone in Los Gatos???. Suspect they are in Morgan Hill which is fine but is there an integrity or business ethics issue here? In my case it appeared they overcommitted when they were available(3 hours late), refused to quote an hourly rate without an inspection(overflowing outside sewer drains are all unique?), sent 2 plumbers of which neither was the guy originally scheduled, quoted $385/hr and once refused, re-quoted $285/hr saying there was a bad cell phone connection with the guys on the job. Clearly a lot of Yelp folks have had good experiences with Pros Plumbing, which is why I called them. I had a bad experience. Without going into gruesome detail, I'll just say that there was a mistake and misunderstanding in their part which was then turned around on me and I was accused of being the problem. In the end they cared enough to call and apologize, which is a good sign. All this was communication and customer service related around a fee for an estimate, and I did not end up having any physical work performed. We all make mistakes. I can't give more than 2 stars based on my overall experience, but I have upgraded from the 1 I originally gave. read more

Very unreliable group. I called with a semi-urgent issue, they said someone would call me back and come that day. I waited all day, didn't go to work and no one came. I called back, they assured me they would come that evening. They didn't. I called again, they said they would come in the morning and call me back personally. They didn't call and didn't show. Fixed a clog from my dishwasher, took the time to explain the problem, and gave me a 10 percent discount. Best of all, really nice and polite. I've called Pros Plumbing twice for emergency service on leaks(water heater first, then bathtub next). Each time I called, someone came out right away even though it was outside of normal business hours. Dan had to search around for the right part to fit my water heater on my manufactured home. He even gave me recommendations for asking the park to upgrade their equipment on my space. Corey was able to rebuild my tub faucet as a temporary fix to then allow time for me put aside the money to replace it later. I will gladly do business with Pros Plumbing again. He skillfully completed the work which many others have tried to do but have failed miserably. Again, not only was he honest about a Jacuzzi bathtub parts company needing to fix the problem, but took the time to arrange an appointment giving them the necessary details about the type tub we have and the parts needed. Dan and the team are fantastic. I was given a quote to replace a water heater by Benjamin Franklin, a competitor, at a cost of $3300. Not only did Dan confirm we could easily and quickly repair my current unit (the competitor told me it would take more than a week to get the required part and there's a chance it wouldn't fix my problem), but he also told me just how out of line the replacement cost was and that my current 7 year old unit was still under warranty. My elderly windowed neighbor called out Pro Plumbing for a leak in main line in front yard. He dug a 2' x 1' deep hole and replaced 1 foot of 1" PVC pipe that had came loose at a coupler. The so called plumber had to go to Home Depot to get the PVC pipe and replaced. a total of three hour work and charged her a total of $1,487.50. WOW a nice round figure! On the invoice no itemize bill, no hour charge or service charge just a simple description as describe above and $1,487.50. Please don't be scammed by this company and please don't let your elderly parent have anything to do with them. I call this guy and he said that they have no hourly fee just give you a over all cost. These guys had a pretty good Yelp review so I tried them. BIG MISTAKE. These guys are a rip off, and I am sure many of the "happy" customers don't realize they have been over charged or had work done that was not needed. First they charged 2.5 times what other plumbers charged for a clean out. Then when the same problem came back 48 hours later, they would not stand by their work. The next plumberwe called (Midas Plumbing; use these guys) charged less than 1/2 and stood by his work. Is a less than 1 star review possible?? Because even 1 star would be overstating the quality of this company's work. After reading some reviews on yelp I can say we experienced much of the same and worse. Outrageous prices, poor service, extremely poor clean up, unprofessional and argumentative. They hardly cleaned up a huge mess that they made in my bathroom and even left hair that was found in drain in my driveway. They wanted to charge over $900 for a job someone else would do for less than $200. They even used my own cleaning supplies rather than bringing their own and didn't even ask. Make sure you ask prices up front because they tried to add a bunch of work and did not disclose extra costs (excess of $300 extra). Kept telling me I was getting a good deal but wouldn't break down any hourly rates instead saying they are all "fixed" prices. Funny that they are willing to negotiate these so called fixed prices. After agreeing to their original ridiculous quote they tried to hike the price up AFTER the work was done. I only paid original agreed upon price and was then told they would not come help if I called. After I informed him I would only pay original estimate he told me he should have left my shower clogged with all that sh!* in there. What a joke! I would stay far away from these guys who show up in an unmarked truck and try to take advantage of hard working people. Very disappointed in my experience and will go to great lengths to make sure not a single person I know ever uses this company. read more

Dont call these people. I do give them one star cause I cant give less so I will give that star to lady on the phone cheryl. She was nice. But the two guys that came out was worthless. Didnt seem to know what they were doing. I had a leak dripping from my upstairs bath into my garage. I cut out a hole in drywall to see if I could see where coming from so half the work for them. So the two guys came out used my ladder took flash light looked where I cut out hole. And that was it went to their van and got on phone. Didnt explain anything to me. Didnt seem like knew what looking at. Very unprofessional smoking in my lawn. As I go out there to ask whats going on one guy says were talking to our boss. I suppose thier boss was telling them what to do or say. I then say we dont feel comfrontable in you guys doing the work. Then finally the guy said well it would cost $2500. So again we tell them we dont feel comfrontable with them doing the work so he said oh ok well it will be 225 since we came out to look. Like WHAT... all they did was use my ladder and look up at the hole I made.... Since I made the call in first place Cheryl(lady on phone) said it would cost 129 to have them come out and look at problem. Had I know thats exactly what she was talking about I would have not had them come out. So regaurdless I kept my end if deal and paid the $129. I would not refer these guys to anyone.
