Great chicken and middle eastern food. The Tarna chicken is roasted so it can be crispy. If you want soft chicken order the regular chicken. It is very good. If you love garlic sauce in oil they give you a tub a long with the meal. They have mingle eastern vegetable sides that are also good. I came to this location by accident. I was in Burbank, but 5 minutes away from the Glendale location. I ordered from this location thinking it was closer, since it was in Burbank. I was wrong. But by the time I figured it out, I had already paid for the order and was on my way. Needless to say, I was annoyed I had to drive so far (20 minutes). But let me tell you, once I got there, I completely changed my mind. For starters, the guy working the front was SO nice. He put a smile on my very grumpy face, and was just so kind it was hard not to cheer up. Then I got home and tasted the food, and WOW. It's just so good. There's a real difference between locations I've realized, and this is hands down the best one. We got the quarter chicken plate and chicken tarna with hummus and tabbouleh, and it was all so good we couldn't stop eating. I'm stuffed now and already want more. Can't wait to go back. read more

First time eating here and glad I decided to give this place a try. The inside is clean and they have small tables outside in the shade that keep you cool. Menu was clear and easily visible. No lines and my order was taken quickly. Prices are very reasonable as well. We ordered the quarter dark and tri tip shwarma. Let's start with the tri tip shwarma. The meat was tender and flavorful and charred to perfection. They give you a good portion that will leave your stomach blissfully satisfied. Now for the chicken The chicken was cooked to perfection as well. The meat fell right off of the bone. Meat was tender, juicy and seasoned well. The pita bread, garlic sauce and hummus were also delicious. There was one area of improvement and that is cleaning the table outside. I'm a big fan of Zankou chicken and I try to check out their various locations whenever I can. This particular location seemed fine. They had some outdoor patio tables, which was nice. The restaurant inside was spacious and clean and I thought their food was on par with the other locations. I usually order the quarter chicken dark plate which goes for $10.99. It came with hummus, diced tomatoes, pickled turnips, 2 pitas and garlic sauce. I really enjoy their garlic sauce, as it's definitely the best around. However, beware it will leaving you smelling of garlic, so I wouldn't suggest eating it before any social engagements. read more

I put this question to the test with my first lunch stop back in LA at Zankou Chicken. It's been over 20 years since I've had the chance to dive into a plate of this Armenian/Mediterranean deliciousness. It did not disappoint. ZC lives in that most excellent crossroads of fast-food speed and cost, while still attaining flavor and quality that you'd expect in a sit-down restaurant. Whether classified as "Upscale Fast Casual" or "Gourmet Fast Food", I can say that it's a formula that works well for me, and I was happy to chow down on a rotisserie chicken plate, with plenty of sauce. Of course, I had to taste their other stuff by sneaking bites from the rest of my family's orders. All good, I have to say. While their chicken remains amazing, I wouldn't sell their shawerma short. Putting those tri-tip bits in the garlic sauce must be where the phrase "Holy Cow" came from. I can't tell you how happy that my long-term recollections and current day meet in a happy place. There is plenty of seating and the staff works hard at keeping the tables wiped down and clean . On my last visit, I ordered the chicken kabob plate and everything from the rice , chicken and pita bread were exactly what you would expect from Zankou. This place only uses fresh ingredients and high quality meats. The service is awesome at this location and there is plenty of parking. Weekends are a madhouse but if you can get there on a weekday, you'll be fine. This location has plenty of outdoor seating, too. read more

Probably one my favorite places in Burbank to grab a quick meal! Love getting the Tri-Tip Shawarma plate here. The dish comes with hand-sliced beef, three sides of your choosing, garlic sauce, and two fresh pita breads. The tri-tip is absolutely delicious and they give a generous portion of it. I've tried a variety of their sides, but my go-to ones to get are definitely the cucumber salad and cabbage salad. Both of which are super refreshing with the meal and adds a nice contrast to the beef. The garlic sauce is an absolute must when I come here and I generally ask for a couple more. They have pretty good food but their prices have gone up so much it's crazy. I still come when I'm in a hurry to get in and out just wish the prices haven't gone up so much and yes I understand inflation. Place is usually better then average clean and it's chills I live there rotisserie chicken and it the sandwich especially that garlic sauce is fire. Employees are usually nice and get my orders right. I also like that you can find this place in many different cities. My go to is their chicken tarna, deliciously seasoned and cut up for my eating convenience. It also comes with the standard hummus, pita and pickled radish, as well as their house made tahini. And who can forget that famous garlic sauce?? Mmm...I can put that on everything. One order is good for two meals with the large portions they give you. Ahhhhh.....Zankou chicken! How I love you so! I've been eating at the various Zankou Chicken locations for years. Their food is freshly prepared, full of flavor, and reasonably priced. Today was no exception. I ordered the Chicken Tarna wrap. The wrap starts with a split pita, nicely toasted and crispy on the edges, then filled with chicken, garlic spread and chopped tomatoes. Their Chicken Tarna is delicious. It is cut from a rotating Trompo or vertical rotating spit of sorts, similar to how you prepare authentic Al Pastor. The marinated chicken is layered onto a giant spike where it rotates as it cooks, allowing all of the delicious juices to spill down the side flavoring the meat. The edges of the chicken get a nice char from the heat, a nice compliment to the flavor of the marinade. And you cannot beat their garlic spread. I have no clue what is in it, only that it is insanely addictive and delicious. The only complaint I have is that the chopped tomatoes are always underripe, hard and flavorless. While I can forgive that in the winter when tomatoes are imported from pother areas, right now we are in the middle of tomato season. The is NO EXCUSE for using substandard tomatoes this time of year. As always, the meal was delicious. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. But I had to ding them one star for the tomatoes. I finally tried Zankou for the first time. This place is down the street from home so it's very convenient for me. The food was delicious! You actually get a pretty decent portion of food and it's filling! I got the chicken kabob plate and it was yummy. It came with 2 kabobs, rice, salad, hummus, and pita bread. The chicken was tender and perfectly seasoned. The hummus was amazing as well. Then there's the garlic sauce. AMAZING! It was so flavorful and delicious. My only complaint is that they don't double check the orders before they give them. I also ordered some falafel and I had to ask for it before I left because I noticed it was missing. When the order came I told them oh sorry I said fries, the manager was super nice, he said to keep the rice I ordered and I can get any other side for free (for the inconvenience). As I was visiting my Lebonese friend, and former co-worker, who I last saw in 2001, I mentioned that it's time for my dinner. His daughter recommended Zankou. At first, I thought I'd be going myself since I didn't know when they eat dinner. But, my friend said, "Let me get my hat, and I'll go with you (a good thing, as the street I remembered, wasn't the same now). So, we got up to the counter. Not knowing what to order, my suggested the Beef and Chicken kabob combo. Our cashier was very nice when she took our order. When the meal was ready, they had placed it in to-go containers vs on a plate. But, that didn't detract from the delicious tastes of this Middle-Eastern dish. Since everything is made to order, it took awhile for our buzzer to start buzzing. As we ate, he told me that the company had originated in Lebanon, and he and 2 family members would go there every week. While the menu has changed some, the quality and tastes remain. So, we got, "a taste of the old country, without going to the old country". Since I never tried these dishes before, I was eager to dive in.
