    Chicken Tarna
    Daisy M.

Zankou Chicken was introduced to me around 2019 and it has been one of my favorite comfort foods since. My boyfriend and I used to go to the Gold's Gym nearby for a workout and come here after for some dinner. My favorite dish is the chicken kabob combo plate with tzatziki and tabouleh as the sides. It's a big portion so I always split it into 2 meals. Such great food! We also recently tried the chicken tarna that is also very very good! The people at this location are always very welcoming and friendly. The interior is always very clean and comfortable.

Excellent tasting chicken & beef. Freshly prepared. Popular take out (15 minutes). Tricky to get to, but lots of parking around building.

Two kebab combo with chicken and steak

Great foods for a great price. Get the 2 kebab combo with chicken and steak and don't forget the garlic paste.

Very good but not nearly as good as the one in santa clarita. ordered the family meal. this is a very good deal. The chicken skin was crisp but the meat was a bit dry. The hummus was delicious and the cucumber salad was good. The pickled turnips were mushy. there is a nice big outdoor pup friendly area for my boy Fergus. Restroom was clean.

Overcooked $28 kabob combo which was on the menu board as $19.99. flavorless leather like

My food was over cooked, I paid $28 for a 2 item combo no drink to dine in. There was barely any rice, no onions... The meat was so over cooked it is difficult to chew. The girl at the counter is very apathetic. I asked for garlic and harissa sauce, the look. The male did get me some sumac from the back. I have had excellent food in Los Angeles and Anaheim... I will probably not visit this location when I am here for business...

The vegetables arrive so fresh that even the most resolute vegan might momentarily forgive the unapologetic abundance of beef, lamb, and chicken beneath them. The sauces are lush, indulgent, and impossibly smooth--crafted with a decadence that feels almost improper to describe. The fries? Crisped to perfection on the outside--twice over, it seems--while the interior dissolves into something closer to silk than potato. And then there is the staff: disarmingly kind, effortlessly charismatic, and possessed of a presence that elevates the entire experience. The towering proprietor, all 6'8" of him, greets guests with a smile that borders on euphoric--especially when he places into your hand a perfectly chilled stein of Enegren Valkyrie. The beer selection is not merely good; it is curated with intent and reverence. Each pour feels like a quiet passage to the old country--a place you may not want to leave once you arrive. In short, their meats linger in the mind long after the meal ends. We are fortunate, indeed, that two gentlemen from Deutschland chose to share their craft here. PROST!

I REALLY like this Stand location!…read more I've been to a few of these and this one is by far my favorite. Inside it's just nicer, quieter and less crazy and has lots of tables that feel nice to eat off of. The outdoor portion also feels equally nice to dine at and doesn't feel like just a few chairs added outside for the sake of it. This time we got the miso salmon bowl which was really good and filling (very easy to split) and a side of sweet potato fries. I loved feeling like I didn't have to get a burger to feel satisfied here. Everything was delicious and staff accommodated every request! Pretty much everyone we talked to were nice and kind so it seems like great staff too! Really happy with this one, will definitely be back!

I'm a fan of The Stand. A proud App user and regular at the Northridge and Valencia locations. So…read morewhen work took me to Thousand Oaks and I saw a location near my gig, I happily anticipated my seared ahi salad for dinner. I was greeted as I entered, as per The Stand custom and the line was hurried right along. Maybe a little too hurried. Most people seemed to be getting "to-go" and the dining room didn't seem very crowded, but it was a sorta loud ambient and music setting. I had a hard time hearing the employee taking my order and there was a small confusion when I noticed something I hadn't ordered listed on the register. No problem, that's why it is shown. After we straightened that out, I found Hubs bussing a table so we could sit. That's unusual, given one of their credos is "Don't Fuss, We'll Bus!" It wasn't THAT busy and Hubs was wanting a table away from a couple of families with small kids, so we don't mind being self-sufficient. What truly surprised me, I've never seen at The Stand, and it was disturbing. Our food was delivered, the server was wearing blue "food service" gloves, which is great - WHEN USED PROPERLY. As I reached to pull the salad bowl he had just set upon our table, I felt some "ick" on my fingers. I look and there was, what appeared to be, mustard and ketchup on the side of my bowl. I tried not to think about it and wiped my hands on a paper napkin. Then cleaned the bowl. Ok, maybe another order next to mine had condiments, like a burger, and the kitchen staff was going quick. Maybe, the "bonus" corn and tortilla strip found in my salad, neither of which is an ingredient in the Seared Ahi Salad, was also an error of working too quickly. Maaaybe. After a few minutes, I saw the same employee bussing tables and wearing blue gloves. I never saw him remove the gloves. Now, it's my understanding, in food service, the gloves should be changed when moving from food prep/deliver to register to kitchen, to avoid cross contamination. Anything less is lazy, not to mention unsanitary and just plain inconsiderate to the guests eating your food. I starting paying attention to each of the workers as they moved about. The gentleman that I will presume to be the manager, or at least lead on this day, DID grab fresh gloves when moving from register to bagging food and back again. Multiple sets of gloves. The other team members, not so much. One young lady kept the same gloves on btwn register and food bagging a few times, until she set a shake down and realized it was running. She cleaned it with the same gloves on, then got a fresh pair after the shake was given to the guest. The guy that delivered my food was moving btwn bussing, which involved wiping tables with a continuously wet rag and emptying trays into the receptacles, then back to the kitchen to get another order - with the same gloves on. My stomach got queasy at the thought that the mustard/ketchup mess was from bussed dishes and NOT just a mishap in the kitchen. I looked at the yellow/red paper napkin, the corn and tortilla strip picked from my salad and proclaimed, 'I'm done!' and tossed the rest out. Yes, bussing my own table as I went. I'll continue to support my local restaurants, but do not plan on returning to this location again. Cheers! "CC"

The website said 10-20min for pickup, so I thought that was perfect timing, as I was 20min away. To my horror, the system automatically put my order 55min out because I had "more than just 2 sandwiches", even though there was no one in line at the restaurant or anyone waiting to pick up an order, when I got there. Why? Well, they blamed it on "3rd party system" and the manager (Zaen?) would not even budge to start making my order right away and could only give it to me 35min later. Again, there was no one waiting in line and they could have easily started making it right away. This extremely rude manager tells me that even if I cancelled my order (which he wasn't even concerned about), and then placed a new one at the counter, they would still take more than 30min for a few sandwiches. Never have I come across such an inconsiderate manager at a place that's known to be considerate and welcoming. Thankfully for me, the other manager (Alec?), was so much nicer and instead of ignoring me like the other guy, he tried to help by fast tracking my order and guess what, it was done in less than 7min. All of it. Did they make anybody wait because of me? Nope! I've been going to Mendocino Farms for over a decade across so many different locations, and this was my first visit to this particular store. And because of this one manager (Zaen?), it ruined my entire outlook for this popular brand. How does the General Manager and the overall franchise operations team even hire such a terrible person, who was just indifferent to losing a customer that had placed an order of over $150??? PS: the online ordering system also defaulted to a $20 tip that you couldn't change. I wish I could get that money back or at least direct it all to the nicer manager.
