Glad I got to explore San Clemente. I found Zebra House on Yelp and had to experience it for a few reasons: 1. there's not a lot of coffee shops with drive thrus 2. this cafe sits solo, close to the Ralphs parking lot 3. there's indoor and outdoor seating; love that the indoor seating had a variety of seating arrangements - tables, booths, high chairs & tables and a sofa 4. their menu was enticing 5. they offer merch 6. their ambiance is comfy I only ordered a hot pecan dream. I definitely tasted the pecan with a hint of coffee and I prefer to taste more espresso in my lattes. I wish I had an appetite this morning so I'll have to go back and try out their breakfast menu.

The coffee was ok but the star here is the breakfast burrito. It had eggs, tater tots!, cheese, and we opted for sausage. It was wrapped very nicely, compact, making it easy to eat without it bursting apart on a drive. Tater tots are a huge bonus! Delicious breakfast burrito, might try it with bacon next time. Came with a side of a few tortilla chips (maybe mission), and salsa.

This place has an ambience that is very well thought out and visually appealing. They also have a drive-through, which is very convenient. I had the iced chai, which was very strong. I also tried their street tacos, which I thought were too expensive for the small amount of food that you can get. $8 for two small tacos with very little meat/ topping. Service is very friendly, they have a nice clean facilities in including bathroom. Plenty of parking outside too. The Wi-Fi was spotty also. Overall, my impression is that this is a place that has decent food and drinks, but feels expensive

This coffee shop was clean and decorated so beautifully! The ambiance is spectacular! The customer service was amazing! I didn't get the name of the lady behind the counter but she was super nice! I told her it was my first time there and she made me feel welcomed and pointed out everything on the menu! I went with a vanilla latte and a cranberry orange muffin. The vanilla latte wasn't my cup of tea but the muffin was really good! If I lived in the area I would come back to try their breakfast menu and other coffee offerings. I just wasn't a fan of the latte.

Okay, I was not expecting a coffee shop to deliver one of the best veggie tacos I've had in a long time, but here we are. Zebra House Coffee, you surprised me in the best way. The taco came wrapped in foil, nothing fancy, but it was loaded with goodness. Fresh corn, zucchini, radish, onion, cilantro, a little crumble of cheese--super colorful and flavorful. The tortilla had that soft, slightly chewy texture I love, not greasy, and held together really well even with all those veggies stuffed in there. It tasted fresh. Like actually-fresh, not "been-sitting-in-a-steamer-tray" fresh. You could tell they put a little love into it, which is rare for a coffee spot that could've easily just phoned it in. Also, side note: I came in for a coffee (which was also solid) but ended up leaving a taco fan. Bottom line--if you're grabbing a drink at Zebra House, do yourself a favor and order the veggie taco. You won't regret it.

I came here before a work event to grab a drink and cowork with a colleague. This place reminds me of a Panera Bread but more localized. There's a few booth seatings with complimentary 2-hour wifi. The worker I interacted with was super sweet, and was able to provide me with some popular recommendations. I ended up getting the strawberry matcha which was both very strawberry and matcha-y. It was a little bit on the sweeter side for me, but if you prefer sweet drinks, this is definitely a good choice! This coffee shop also has a drive through, and a whole food menu. I also loved that there were dedicated parking spaces so you're not driving around looking for spots.

As a new mom, drive through options are so important. And I really appreciate this place being a healthier option. However, I have to agree with another review on here. Everything is just so inconsistent. Every time I go, I get a honey latte and a power bowl. The power bowl can take anywhere from 5-35 minute to be made regardless of how busy. And what left me to finally make this review is after driving away I pulled over to open the lid to my coffee that felt kinda empty to find this , my coffee half empty and tasting like water. I am not sure I will be back and it's really disappointing because I love the convenient of this place & it's a small business . Photo is after one sip

Ordered a chorizo burrito earlier this week and asked for avocado didn't get any avocado, ok fine no biggie. Still charged me for it. Today I waited 30 minutes for another chorizo burrito and when I asked they said they were going to check on it (after waiting for 20 minutes) I'm pretty upset they just sent me to the wall to park and had no urgency. I come home and it's a bacon burrito. Really upset with how they just forgot. I walked in before finally getting handed my burrito and they had 2 customers sitting and 2 who were in line. I would've completely understood if they were packed but weren't. * Owner did reach out and refunded me I truly appreciate you speaking to the ladies working thank you Sara!

Zebra coffee is my go to in San Clemente! Note for the drive-thru, they don't have an additional menu once you arrive at the ordering window; so take a photo or be sure you know what you're ordering ahead of time!

I was trying to find a location to have my sister meet me at, I always just look up coffee spots this place looked cute and it had a good rating decided to try it out and if you're not a coffee drinker the next best things are chai! The rose chai is delicious. I was scared it was going to be watered down but no it was perfect and you get to choose your milk! This is hands-down the worst coffee experience I have ever had. I have never used a yelp review until now. I was handed the palest wateriest iced mocha, and I asked before hand to make sure it was a double shot and I could have extra ice so it would be strong enough. I was really disappointed in the coffee so I got out of my car after waiting in the drive-through and went into the café. I explained to the person working that I would like a stronger coffee because I wasn't happy with this one, I paid another six dollars for another coffee and the flavor was forgotten. Now my coffee run has been a 45 minute ideal and I waited for this treat on a Saturday morning all week. $12 later not including tips I have no coffee that I am happy with and I'm just feeling frustrated. When I asked for the third time for a new coffee I was argued against and was told that I got exactly what I ordered. At this point I turn around and just kept my flavorless coffee and moved on. I felt defeated and disappointed and like the employees were bothered even tho I was apologetic and paid for both coffees. I do not recommend zebra coffee if you like real strong espresso and real crafted quality drinks. This is the weakest watery palest coffee you will ever have. Try Sur coffee instead- never making this mistake again. read more

We did a large pick up. Unfortunately they couldn't do blended or hot drinks at the time so I got a honey latte and others ordered iced coffees! I'll definitely be reordering and hopefully soon be able to try more from the menu! read more

Holy shit!!! Best hazelnut blend EVERRRRRR!!! Its my 2nd day in town. Waking up late and lazy i wanted something refreshing! And oh boy i couldn't be happier to have this place 2 mints away from where i live! It's like a light bulb went on in my brain with the first sip! Thank you for existing! Whenever I'm back in my hometown, I stop by this spot. Great coffee & even sandwiches. Iced americanos are my drink and I add a shot or two for a kick. Coffee is bright and on the fruity side and is a really nice flavor. Stop by and support a local shop, well worth it. read more

Ordered a gluten free fried bologna sandwich, it came out with the meat not fried at all, bread had been toasted but it was borderline soggy and limp, contents inside spilled out from all sides of the bread, tons of sauce, disappointing for a $10 sandwich. They gave me a refund which was very nice of them, great Ambiance and atmosphere, friendly staff, nice decor, zebra signature drink is really sweet, great classic drinks. read more

So this morning I was passing through with my boyfriend to try a new surf spot. I looked up coffee shops and the name of this one was awesome so we made the stop. We got two black coffees, a latte, and a chai tea latte. I swear my blood is made of chai because it's all I drink. I rate each one I have and I am telling you it's the best one I've ever had. It's in my top 3! 10/10 and the people were awesome. read more

What a cute little place my friends and I discovered while going to our airbnb. We wanted coffee and my friend found this coffee shop so we went. The decoration is very cute. When you walk in, it has a few seats and a table inside. They have a cold fridge with cold drinks to grab from, but also a menu on top for sandwhiches and coffee drinks. The staff were super friendly as we kept looking, the nice woman at the register let us know we can ask her for suggestions and we did. She told us to order the Pecan Dream (options of cold or hot). We were so basic and decided to listen to her suggestion that we ALL ordered pecan dream. I ordered mine Iced while the others ordered hot. It tasted really good that we ewre craving it the next day and wanted to get more! Definitely at the pecan taste to it, but not too strong. It was a nice sweet refreshing coffee. I would go back :) read more

Nice, clean restaurant. Friendly service. I had house coffee only. I ordered a protein bowl and even though the bottom of the box was warm, the top was cold as well as the black beans. I asked for them to warm it up some more but when I got it back, it hadn't changed much. The eggs were not that great, so overall impression of food was kind of blah, especially for the price. Maybe I caught place on an off day because it seemed like a very popular spot. read more

In a rush but needed a mid morning coffee. Thot I'd give Zebra a try - the all too familiar "Brand X" has gotten ... all too familiar. Had a dark roast. Excellent aroma. Excellent taste. Best chai tea I've had there! First they're always so nice and welcoming when I go and order. Inside is decorated very well. Their coffee is great! Have great choices to pick from. Their muffins are great sizes and taste great also. Like that they have different milk options! Pricing is about the same as Starbucks, but like their coffee better. read more

Owner called and explained that the manager was out of town. She called while on maternity leave after just having her baby a few days ago. It has taken me a while to correct the review because I too just had a little one! Babies are blessings and need a lot of time. Very thankful the owner reached out and I hope you all give this coffee shop a try. I will update with my next visit. Hopefully the wait isn't too long and the customer service reflects their owner's vision. read more

Stopped by on the way to San Diego for a cup of coffee. So glad that I did. What a great little place. In a world full of chains of Starbucks, the Zebra House is a breath of fresh air. Located in San Clemente right off the freeway. This little place seems to be a local favorite. We came in early so we ordered a breakfast sandwich who's name escapes me, but it was good. I also ordered a dirty chai. Fortunately it was done Right! It's always a hit or miss when it comes to small mom and pop places but the Zebra House was a big hit! I loved it with its small space charm. If I lived in the area, I would definitely be there often. read more

This time around we got the shakshouka, chicken pesto sandwich, smoked salmon tartine, and the pistachio croissant. Everything was amazing, as expected. Their bread and pastries are top tier, you can really tell that they use high quality ingredients. Their croissants are honestly the best I've ever had. So flakey and crispy on the outside and soft in the middle.

I assumed that their focus was on whisky, and certainly not on food. But then, one day, I passed by in the evening, when Drift was actually open. I saw a lot of people inside, so I thought I would check it out. The moment I walked inside and smelled that wonderful smoky flavor, I had a feeling my assumption was very wrong. I checked out the menu, which had me at brisket, and I committed to eating there as soon as possible. As soon as possible was the next day. I tried the brisket, which was fantastic! It was moist and tender without being fatty. And, it had a great smoky flavor. I went back to Drift four times that week, including twice in one day. Everything I have tried has been great - the pulled pork, beef rib (absolutely amazing) and turkey. I haven't tried the chicken or pork ribs yet, but I plan to very soon. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that the bbq baked beans are among, if not the best, I have ever eaten. Service at Drift has always been really friendly. The environment is casual and fun (at times a little too noisy for me, but I'm pretty old and have a little trouble hearing conversation in noisy environments). I'm so glad I looked past my initial perception of Drift and gave it a try. It has become one of my favorite restaurants in San Clemente.

Yet, this place was still pack and parking was full. (We found street parking near Starbucks) I had my staff placed our name down since she lives closer, but they won't see you until all your party is here and that's fine. We ended up seating at the bar and left the booth for other parties. Love the teamwork, the staff were super stars doing a rush like that, let me tell you it PACKED HOUSE and we got our food and drinks on time, no one in my party had to wait to eat and I forgot to take pictures of my staff meals, only took mines and what I got for the table to share was a croissant french toast, which I believe was their special of the day. I got the chicken fried steak and the portion are MASSIVE!!! All of us took our food home because the portion size are insanely big and bang for the buck!! Great place to eat breakfast or brunch or even a 'Team Building Breakfast Time' LOL Just happy to treating out my amazing staff on their work. The coffee had a peculiar burnt and sour aroma, which made it difficult to enjoy. While the café offers an array of sweet, syrup-based beverages, I believe a true taste of a coffee establishment lies in its ability to serve a good, traditional espresso. This little coffee shop has the perfect pick-me-up fresh, custom drinks and their drive through is great way for me to start my days and has become a part of my morning routine. We like the caramel fraps and the hot Chai Tea Latte is the Best in OC! Zebra's yummy muffins and breakfast sandwiches are always fresh and the employees are very friendly and helpful. About two hours later i was still sipping on my cup and i began to realize this was one of the best tasting cups of coffee i have ever had. We love supporting our local businesses but this place price gouges you for coffee that isn't even that stellar. I understand paying for customizations in my drink, but a latte should not cost $8 just for adding oat milk and lavender flavoring. Lower your prices so we don't have to spend $10 after tipping.
