If I could give minus five I would. I went there today and ordered there Koa Po fish without nuts This dish arrived with a ton of greasy onion and pepper on top. I was okay to overlook that because I really only wanted the fish with the authentic and light spicy sauce. A) there was no spicy flavor. B) and WORST OF ALL. I would have saved money by staying home and sucking on a sugar cube -. The male who I requested to taste the dish I sent back came back and SIMPLY said its how we always make it WITH A SMIRK ON HIS FACE, as he looked down at me. Underwhelming. I was excited to have some Asian food for lunch. Haven't tried Zen but I drive past it every day. Ordered hot and sour soup, spicy tuna roll, garlic sauteed spinach and garlic shrimp. The spicy tuna was fine and well priced. Everything else was blah. How can hot and sour soup not be spicy? I had to add lots of soy sauce and by the way, I received no soy sauce or any condiments. Walked into Zen Sushi with my daughter because I remembered they had good curry noodles there. So, we walked in and waited to be greeted, but no one did. They were all congregating around the bar area. I finally signaled to someone, and they said we could sit anywhere. Then I picked up the stained, and torn menus, that should have told us to run. But we ordered and the food was AWFUL, not at all like I had remembered. Even though we hardly ate anything, when she asked if we wanted to wrap up the food, I told her no, because it wasn't good. She brought the bill over and nothing was taken off. When I went up the manager, he was all grumpy and begrudgingly gave us 20% off the bill. Wow, thanks. Really, Zen, you guys need to step it up. Dine-in date was 12/29/2023 at 8:00pm. Food was really good and was met by a pleasant server and was led to our seat. But we had a different server who was so rude. An Asian guy with a glasses. He even gave me a smirk when I asked what is the best seller for noodles. Good thing the food was good. Though ramen was not good but their roll was excellent. I really love coming to this place but honestly after this past sunday night i doubt ill be returning. I came in and ordered the chicken teriyaki combo and had to ask multiple times how long it was going to take because i kept seeing people who got seated way after me getting there food and i hadnt received anything yet. When you arrive, the waitress takes great care to give you orders in a rather rude way; Although it is essential to apply Covid measures, the way to indicate the client is not incompatible with friendly and gentle treatment. After you sit down, the treatment improves. I will not return despite myself because the bathroom does not work well: it has no light, coat hanger and purse and the door is jammed with cardboard. Sushi, French fries, and dominos pizza my 3 top favorite food I can have all day. So I eat good sushi I know it's good. I admit I thought this restaurant was out of business, but drove past it after grocery shopping and saw that they were taking to-go and delivery orders. We ordered once (sushi and ramen) in March and the food was delicious. It was such a treat to eat a meal that we didn't cook. We decided to treat ourselves again last night to celebrate finishing grad school. We ordered pretty much the same thing through yelp/grub-hub and had it delivered. This time our order was missing some items. I called the restaurant and they were both apologetic and kind. They made the missing items plus one extra, explained how to order in the future to get items that aren't on the Yelp menu and even delivered the missing items to our house. Glad they've reopened. The food is good and the price is reasonable. We ordered the assorted won ton soup, beef pan fried noodles and crispy calamari. I believe the servers forgot to put in one of our items because when we finished our other two items and asked about the third they went to the kitchen and came back 10 minutes later with it. However the only lacking area is their service skills. Slow to serve the food and slow to get the check. We waited 15 minutes after we asked for our check to get it. I have tried ordering from this restaurant several times. Each time, although the food is decent, the service is absolutely horrible. They take forever to answer the phone and put you on hold every time. Today when I ordered over $100 worth of food to be delivered they neglected a part of the order. When I called them to ask what happened, they put the blame on the customer. Really all I wanted was some form of apology. It definitely did not need to be a monetary discount. The girl who I spoke with was the same girl that I placed the hundred dollar order with and she said I read you back the order and you didn't say anything. In this day and age, customer service is a big deal. Usually when I place orders, they are larger amounts because we have guests. The last thing I need to hear is how I screwed up as the customer. Great ratings etc. the restaurant in general looked like it needed a wipe-down. No biggie, however, walking into the restaurant the host wasn't welcoming, he said to sit anywhere you want. I think they did some big renovations in the last year or so because I had been here a few years ago and didn't think too much of it...but upon return recently it has been excellent. Orders are ready quick and food is fresh with great flavors. Also one of the only places that has both Chinese and Japanese so if you want some sushi to accompany the Chinese favorites, they have it. I like to stick with the Chinese food here, all the classics are there and good. One dish I typically do not get but that I ordered here which I was delighted by was the lemon chicken. Really excellent! Give this place a shot next time you are in the mood for some Asian cuisine. read more
