It's really hit and miss when you go to Zippy's when you rate them on service, it really depends on who is helping at that time, this particular time they asked for my name so they could call me when my order comes up, I pretty much order the same things all the time so the food is always consistent, and will probably eat here again. read more

I could have sworn that Zippy's was good. However, the Zippy's I went to was on Oahu, not Maui. Maybe the food is served differently here or my memory from my last visit to Zippy's over 5 years ago has served me wrong. This is my father-in Law's absolute favorite place to eat and if he is allowed, he wants to be here every time he has a chance. ( He is 90 years old). His favorite appetizer is "Nachos" which has just perfect amount of topping. Tonight we were greeted by one of our favorite waitress "lei" and we had a great time. This place needs to pay attention to their takeout order phone calls. They need to understand that their customers don't want to stay in line for their orders cuz we all know how busy they get. Yum! The food style of Zippy's is in line with my comfort food and what I sometimes make at home, so it was familiar to me. I made the mistake of getting a mini zip pac, which was fine but didn't have as much flavor as I wanted. Hubby got the loco moco. We spent 10 days on Maui and had countless meals everywhere with some places where our bill was over $125 for both us and I think he still views this meal as his best on the island. :) read more

We missed out on Zippy's on Oahu last year so we were happy to get a second chance on Maui. Zippy's was on last meal on the island. By this time I was tired of the high prices and no so great food. Zippy was cheap! I got the friend chicken mini-plate and got two big pieces of chicken, rice and mac salad. A full plate will get you 3 pieces, all cheap. We also got the katsu chicken and spaghetti for the kids. All the meals were inexpensive and tasty. Zippy's may be just a fast food but its also nice to have fast food choice other than hamburgers and fries. read more

Made our way before the Hana Hwy as usual and enjoy 2 mini loco mocos. We saw they had chocolate filled malasadas and we told the lady we'd split one. She looked at us like we had 3 heads and said "just one? You don't want all of that chocolate to get all over you when you cut it!" and laughed. So we got two. They were pretty good but I like granulated sugar on my malasadas so I thought they were missing a little something. Cheap, fast (for fast food on Hawaii) and convenient. read more

I always need to stop here every time I visit Maui. That Macaroni Salad they serve with everything is so good. The service can be a bit slow at times but the fact that it's open 24hrs is very helpful when you land on a later flight. We came here with a party of nine after the NBA Finals game 1. We made a reservation and were seated promptly. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Korean Chicken, with mashed potatoes and gravy and a salad. Rice would been a better side but I really felt like potatoes and gravy. The Korean chicken was tasty and a large portion...so much that I had to give away bites. My wife order the Zip Min a saimin bowl with veggies, meat and a tempura shrimp which wasn't bad. Others had burgers with fries and were very pleased. Zippy's is an island chain that feels like a Denny's with and island influence. One of the few places on Maui that's open 24hours other than McDonald's but not the best option. I had a gift card so decided to stop in. Unfortunately since it was only $10 on the card the cashier said I could not pay the difference in cash. She also said that the card was not reloadable which it clearly said it was on the back. When I showed her she said she couldn't do it so I would have to come back in the morning if I want to add more money to the card. I ordered the chili as that was one of the only things I could under $10. I was not impressed with the chili. it also did not settle well in my stomach. Perhaps it deserves another chance but for now it was not a pleasant experience. read more

Man... This place sucks. The portions are extremely small, they didnt want to mix the Hershey's syrup in milk so my daughter could have chocolate milk... The service was fine. And the small portion servings take away an egg and a pancake... How cheap can you be??? I ended up having to go somewhere else to make sure I wasn't hungry after eating here. read more

Reasonable, friendly service and GOOD food with many choices! Although they are known for their chili, I just thought it was so-so. I like thicker chili so I wasn't impressed. They had a garlic miso pork chop that was FANTASTIC!!! I also tried the katsu saimin, which was not as good as the garlic miso pork chop. We are a fan of Zippy's and are happy they made to Maui. It's a great place for fast food when you are looking for something other than a burger and fries. The Zip Pack is a must when we travel and spam musubi's when we are hitting the beach. Chili Frank and Fried chicken plate when your dining in and the malasada's are delish!
