This is the best zippys on the island. It is located off king street in town. I was hungry after watching a movie so I decided to dine in here. They open til 12 am so i was happy because i arrived around 10pm thinking dine in was closed. No mask required anymore or covid cards needed. I checked in and waited 5 minutes to be seated. It was busy but staff was friendly and precise. I ordered zip min soup because it was chilly outside. It came out fast. It warmed me up and was delicious. They also have fresh waffles which is not on the outside menu. I get it with a side of icecream. I would recommend this place as its the best zippy on the island and cleanest. Our first meal when we touched down in Hawaii is at Zippys. It was recommended that we at least try it out since it's a local establishment. My first impression of it is a Denny's diner but with pretty tasty food and friendly service. Our wait was close to 25 min on a Monday night around 9pm. They close at 10pm and I was worried that I'd be that customer that dines right before closing time and get all the side eye they can serve but I was so wrong! They were friendly and never rushed us but they were efficient! We got in and out before 10pm. Everything we ordered was delicious. On a flavor level, the wings were seasoned really well. I ordered it with the Chinese 5 spice bbq seasoning and was blown away at how flavorful it is without it being overpowering. My fiance ordered the Loco moco. Call it a strange tradition / travel habit / odd behavior, but I always make time for Zippy's whenever I'm in Honolulu. It almost doesn't matter which Zippy's, but Hawaii's most beloved comfort food chain is still one of my favorite places to go, especially late at night. It would be the longest review ever if I decided to list out all the things they do well, so it really comes down to a matter of taste. If one has a hankering for Hawaiian specialties like loco moco, saimin, and macaroni salad, it's all available here! My favorite meal is often breakfast, which usually means hashbrowns are involved and Zippy's has all of that available, 24 hours a day. This particular Zippy's is a little different though - it's massive. There is a separate dining room that could hold a hundred plus, along with some smaller seating on the takeout side. The parking lot is also similar, so big it's like it's for a supermarket. Is there such thing as a flagship Zippy's? I'm going to guess this is the closest thing to it. One thing I tend to forget is that Zippy's is also a bakery. They have custom cakes galore and there are a ton of pastries on display for all. For a place that is no frills and casual, just from the looks of it, the baked goods are looking quite delicious. Lastly, the service here is so lovely. oh my, who doesn't love zippy's. am i right?? this location has free parking, a large indoor dining area and really friendly staff. we had a huge party so we had to wait about 30 minutes, but there was an indoor and outdoor waiting area which made it go by pretty quickly. our family loves to order the saimin, chili, loco moco, fried chicken, child's size spaghetti, and BLT. You can get a ton of plates and upgrade it to the "meal" so you get a soup, desert and soda for about $3.50 more. read more

This Zippy's has the nicest dining room for a Zippy's near Waikiki. The staff is friendly and the food is Aloha comfort! This time I ordered the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken), Oxtail Soup, Chili Rice, and a side of SPAM which were all very good and tasty. Last time I ordered the Loco Moco and Zip Pac which was 'ONO - sooooo delicious! Zippy's is an institution and a must when visiting the islands!!! Private parking lot is available. Prices have slowly been increasing to now nearly $15 a plate but today we received burnt korean chicken with no sauce and a chili chicken plate with nearly no chili. Do not sleep on Zippy's! One of my favorite fast food chains in Oahu. So cheap and delicious. The variety of dishes they offer here is absolutely amazing. We always make it a point to come to Zippy's when we visit Oahu. The service was on point and the staff were very welcoming. During our most recent visit, we decided to come here for breakfast before heading to Kualoa Ranch. We did not eat on the diner side, we were fine with the fast food style side. I got their breakfast platter that came with scrabbled eggs, spam, and Portuguese sausages. My wife got something similar, but instead of sausages, she got corn-beef hash. Each dish was around $5 and hit the spot. Exactly what we needed before a day of activities. Overall, there is nothing extravagant here. Just good ol' cheap comfort food. This is what we expected. If you come here for lunch, I highly recommend the "Zip Pack". You get to sample their fried chicken, katsu, bbq beef, and spam. All served on a bed of white rice with furikake sprinkles. I wish we had a Zippy's in Austin! I could probably eat everything on their menu twice a month. Well maybe not without having serious health issues. After my meeting near the Mililani area, my friend took me to his favorite go-to spot, Zippy's the night I got into town. I ordered the Zip Pac with Teri beef, Spam, fried chicken, fried fish, and rice. The rice was sprinkled with some bomb Furikake (seaweed & seasonings mix). The entire plate was soooooo good! Never been to the Makiki Zippy's before. Parking lot was really full at lunchtime so we took it as a good sign. There was a waiting line that was understandable, but while waiting we noticed many tables, probably 8, that were empty and waiting to be bussed. The hostess would ask the next in line how big is their party and then bus one table at a time for that party. Took us just 10 minutes to be seated, not bad. Then we sat for 10 minutes before our server can and brought us drinks. There were 4 tables within our view that were empty and needing to be bussed and the line waiting to be seated was even longer. They finally started cleaning the tables after we paid our tab. I think they need another busboy. Now for the food. You can't go wrong with a large saimin at Zippy's and my wife really enjoyed hers. I ordered the chili nachos and told them to make sure the cheese was melted because the last time I ordered it the cheese was still cold. The nachos was a delicious bargain for less than $9. Yelp challenge 19/100 First of all, I wouldn't choose to come back to this location because of the women's restroom. Believe me. Trust me. There is a definite plumbing issue. And by the looks of it, management knows about it, but hasn't fixed it properly. There's almost nothing worse than a bathroom problem in a restaurant. From the old school "texting" in the stall, this isn't a new problem. Actually, all 4 women in our party noted the problem. This location gets busy. And table turnover is slow, because everyone spends a lot of time at the table after they are pau. But hey, it's Hawaii and talking story sometimes is more important than the food! The staff are busy, and so it they may not be as attentive as they could be, especially if you are not ready to order right away-when they come to first take your order. But the good thing is even though you have to call them over, they don't act bitter about it! I had the teri chicken sandwich with fries. Disappointed on both counts. The teri sauce was diluted and barely had taste, and the fries were too well done-and had too many small pieces. My friend said they didn't change the oil. Sad to say I couldn't really eat the fries. Haven't been to Zippy's for a while and now I remember why the food is terrible ordered a large 1 ton 1 ton was overcooked too soft no flavor and priced high for what you get very disappointed. It used to be really good but now it's junk. my wife ordered the Korean chicken salad. That was all right, but not the best. We've had better at other Zippy's. In my opinion, it's kind of weird that you HAVE to get on the waitlist using your phone once you arrive at the restaurant. At no other restaurant in Oahu did we have to do that. The wait was at least fifteen minutes, maybe a little longer. We were finally seated, and the waitress came and took our orders pretty much right away. The food came out quickly, too, but that was it. Never did the waitress check up on us again, and my husband ran out of water at the end and tried to get the waitress's attention (he was literally raising his hand), but no, she never even looked our way. Highly recommended for comfort. It's not the food (they are average and good) but it's the atmosphere. We like it here and come frequently because the staffs are super courteous and polite. The atmosphere is calming and cozy. Great for reading (no one chase you away) and chatting with families and friends. Unfortunately the QR code from the CommonPass app didn't work again but they were amazingly patient and accommodating by checking the verified records and ID, and even apologized. I tried ordering from here via the app. I got all the way to selecting the payment method, then got an error message telling me to call them directly to place an order. When I called their number, some person took my order then proceeded to tell me that there were items that couldn't be ordered because they ran out of it. When I asked which items they ran out of, she told me she didn't know. How ridiculous. Taking my business elsewhere. This is already strike two with Zippy's. read more
