First of all We love ZIPPY'S! The food is delicious It this is our second time at this location and we had a service issue the first time because of sick calls and we didn't receive some of our order but we understood the situation. This time was different because there were plenty of workers and places to sit. Our waitress Mary started out her greeting with I'm helping you and the co-worker is on break so I can get out of here sooner. Ha Ha right? Nope She was irritated that our son and their newborn came in later than expected for us. We saw that there was seating so we didn't worry that others were waiting on us. She rushed through taking our order when he arrived. We had to remind her of 2 separate items that we hadn't received. When trying to get her attention she was short speaking and rude with us. Clearly her day was showing on her face. We needed to do a to go order for family at home but because of her demeanor we opted on not doing it with her and doing take out. That being said we when we ordered for take out of course we were no longer able to order the Portuguese sausage. It was a frustrating experience and disappointing. Food and service is pretty good, BUT the take out containers and how they package single bakery items are horrible. I bought a small no bean chili no rice bowl and because they didn't close the lid well or the containers aren't that great, it spilled in the car. I didn't even get to eat it. It spilled on my grilled cornbread and made it soggy. I had to throw it all away. Spent $11 and ate not of it. :( My ube long John was also smashed but at least I salvaged that. First time trying this place and ordered takeout: a chicken katsu plate and fried chicken plate. Both meals came with white rice and macaroni salad. The katsu and fried chicken were... fine. Just fried. Nothing really stood out, even with the tangy katsu sauce--which honestly tasted just like ketchup. The macaroni salad was heavy on the mayo, a little salty, and lacked flavor. I felt like it was missing something. That said, there are a few other items on the menu that look interesting, and they offer desserts too. I'll probably give them another shot. When I had my vacation home in Hawaii, I used to be a regular at Zippy's. How excited to know a Zippy's opened in Henderson, NV. They have now been open just a few days short of a month. I'm hear to tell you they are not ready for prime time. The facility is nice enough with plenty of Hawaiian music playing in the background. We went there for lunch... at least half of the seats were empty, yet there was a line-up of several parties ahead of us. We were told there would be a 20-minute wait for a table... there didn't seem to be enough staff to tend to the guests. We patiently waited 40 minutes to be seated. We then waited another 10 minutes for our server to get to our table to take an order. We then waited another 10 minutes for water. We were told when we place our order that it would take 20 minutes for food. We ordered the Kalua Pork plate ($18.25). It came with two large scoops of white rice and a large scoop of macaroni salad which is standard side fare for Hawaiian lunches. The Kalua Pork was good, moist tender and flavorful. It didn't disappoint. The two side dishes were plentiful and okay... nothing special. My order was the Korean Fried Chicken with No-Bean Chili ($16.95). It came with the same oblatory side dishes as above. There were 6 chunks of fried chicken with some kind of a light drizzle of flavor. The chicken was over cooked and dry... not very flavorful. I did finish the chicken because we had already waited an hour for lunch and I was hungry. Our server asked how everything was, and I told him the overall experience was underwhelming... nothing I would come back for. He sent the manager over to talk with us and he said if I hadn't finished all my chicken he would have made it over again. Why would I wait another 20 minutes for another plate of pretty bad chicken? Pretty lame manager while he explained they had 28 restaurants in Hawaii and another 2 in Las Vegas... they are successful. Who cares? I had a pretty bad experience, was not asking for anything and he was making excuses on how successful they are and I couldn't have had an bad meal. Well, I did have a bad meal that I waited for over an hour for lunch. I used to love Zippy's. Used to go there quite often when in Hawaii. But I think we had our first and last experience at this location. I don't know what it is with this location this is the third restaurant that has opened in this location and they all seem to fail. If you are planning on going there, I would wait a few weeks until they can get all together. read more

Went in last night 9/21 at about 750pm. Local Aunty, mid aged around 50, dark hair up in a clip and dark eyebrows. Seemed as if she was already irritated for whatever reason. My wife asked her a simple question regarding online pickup and she gave a sarcastic answer then she walked away and she said "you're welcome". So much being from Hawaii no aloha just a wise ass attitude! On top of that we get 1/4 piece of pie when we order a full slice as pictured it looked like it's someone's leftovers. Had dinner at this newest location. Great food and service. There's a slight design difference than the Badura restaurant. The waiting area is on the other side of the sliding doors, but not a problem if you have your cellphone for texts. The food is the same. Consistently good because of a central kitchen. I went in on Sunday 10/19 waited 15 minutes for a table ,got to the table and was ignored for the next 20 minutes till I got up and walked out of the restaurant. Everybody around us was taken care of ,waters, food ,menus ...we had absolutely nothing on our table. Servers, food runners, everybody was walking around us never even looked at us. I'll be honest.. I felt discriminated. Everybody that was taken care of was of Hawaiian descent.. my daughter and I , the only Caucasian people in there did not have even a glass of water in front of us not even acknowledged. Server during my first time was very polite. BUT low customer Service skills. There was a dessert I wanted to try and he told me they were out, dis not even offer an alternative. No upsell. I had to go to the take our counter and see what they have for myself. 2. Food: Spaghetti meat Sauce BLAND. Could use a little more seasoning. 3. Ensemada: BLAND and dry. I thought they have an error with the recipe 4. Hostess: During my 1st time: i wanted to seat in a booth because I have a back injury and wanted a littlw more cushion, DENIED, server for that table is lon breal. 2nd time: You have a QR code to join waitlist for a table. My name was up on the board. And the hostess could see us waiting by the wait area. Two batches of walkins came and got seated and that surprised me. So i came up to her and asked if they were following the wait list on the board because I said I have been waiting to be called. She said "you have to let me know that youre here because how would I know that youre here if you dont approach me?" Well why do you have a QR CODE that puts your name on the screen just for it to be ignored. Why wont you call out the names on the wait screen? We showed up to Zippy's late this afternoon and were really disappointed from start to finish. It took forever just to be seated even though the place wasn't that busy, and once we finally sat down, no one came to our table for quite a while. When the food finally arrived, most of it was cold except for the fried chicken and part of the beef was actually raw. I could only eat about a quarter of my meal before I gave up. We tried to end the night on a better note by ordering dessert, but our server completely forgot about it. At that point, we just asked to have it removed from the check so we could leave. First and last time we'll be coming to Zippy's. This location really needs better management, staff training, and cooks who actually check the food before it goes out. Very disappointing. read more

Well, what can I say? Where should I even begin, man, so disappointing, we were so excited to try this place out, heard about it and seen it online. We love Hawaiian food, but unfortunately, had the absolute worst experience. It was Thursday the 23rd at around 3 o'clock. My kids and I walked in, it did not seem very busy at all. Couple people waiting in the to go area and about three tables were seated on the dining side. This was our first time there so did not really know where to go, saw the sign where it said "to go" to the left "dine in" to the right. We saw one person in the Togo area and two guys on the dining side, one guy just walking behind the counter the other one looked like he was helping tables. As we were standing there a girl comes out from the back to check someone out interestingly enough wearing a black In-N-Out Hoodie, odd but didn't think anything of it, she checked him out and went straight into the back. The other guy walking behind the counter, went into the to go area in the back, keep in mind still not one person has said anything to us, but they've all looked at us. So we are just waiting patiently not sure where to wait to get seated while the to go guy is putting his orders together and the server that was helping the tables just walking by getting what he needs again still not acknowledging or saying anything to us as we are just walking back-and-forth trying to figure out how to get seated. At this point, my daughter goes and sits at a table. I go over there with her still standing as the server is just looking at us. I then go back to the to go area. Finally the to go guy gets done with his orders after about five, maybe 10 minutes finally asked if I want to place it to go Order, I told him we were trying to get seated, and asked him if I should order from him, he said I could, but still just kind of looked at me like I was an idiot. Needless to say "Hospitality" definitely nonexistent. Told my kids " Let's go" And left as they were completely surprised, no one said anything to us. We will never go back to this location and maybe never even try Zippy's, nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone. Leadership in this building should definitely have some conversations with their employees on how to treat people or in this case just acknowledge people. Hospitality was fine. My problem was that I watched as the kitchen put out my tables' food and it was not picked up for at least 10 minutes. It was the same for multiple other tables. Me and my wife's fried chicken were both overcooked and cold. Not only that but my grandmothers oxtail soup ($28) was MICROWAVED. Won Ton Min was disappointing compared to Hawaii. Noodles were all stuck together and mushy. Won ton wrapper was hard. Same for our parties 2 zipmin and keiki min. Not going back there.
