Did the bar omakaze with a friend. Service was a bit slow between courses to a point where the sushi chef behind the counter was like I'm just going to hand the plates to you ladies so you're not sitting here waiting. The sushi selection was delicious I really enjoyed each piece. I thought the omakase price point was a little high it was 140$ and we were still hungry after and had to get tacos down the street. I wasn't a big fan of the dessert but my friend really enjoyed it.

Tranquil spot with various omakase options. Came here with my family for an early dinner and made a reservation online beforehand. We opted for the Sushi Bar Omakase for $109 which came with 8 courses (including dessert). A couple of courses had multiple pieces, and we left very full. The blue crab hand roll was my favorite part; it was huge, hot, and the sauce that accompanied it was delicious. The fish was super fresh and the pieces kept coming. It was fun to watch them being prepared right in front of us at the bar (there are table seats as well). We enjoyed our meal and I would recommend this for special occasions or a way to treat yourself.

This is an eight course omakase chef selection during dine LA 2025 July . It's same pricing as normal regular days. Parking only on street and service is okay. But a biit pricey . The restaurant is small with only very little tables. I seated at the bar seat.

Went there for a birthday celebration. We do the $75 pp omakase with a special toro uni add on. The fish are fresh but the some of them is a little chewy for me and the chef did add wasabi into some sushi (which I don't like) the wagyu beef/ bluefin tuna/ uni are fantastic! I got a little rose from the restaurant too for bday. Reasonable price for occasional event :)

What an amazing experience this was! I have never been to an Omakase & my boyfriend took me for Valentine's Day :') To start off, the restaurant was clean + aesthetically pleasing to the eye. All the workers were super kind & greeted us immediately upon arriving. Once we got seated, we opted in for the Kannazuki Omakase. The Kannazuki Omakase is a 10 course omakase meal -- perfect for me but my boyfriend was still hungry LOL. You can taste the quality in the fish for each dish & it litcherally melts into your mouth. My favorites of the night were the snow crab coquette with yuzu curd, the Uni & Toro sushi pcs, the Uni tofu (topped off with truffle), and the white fish tart. Everything was so fresh & I wish I could go back and savor it more !! The server who was helping us was super knowledgeable about every omakase dish that came out & answered all the questions we had regarding the menu. She also helped us decide which sake choices to go with & I'm glad we asked for her suggestions -- the sake paired SO well with our meal. Very nice touch how the restaurant gave a rose, a little box with 2 chocolates, and complimentary plum wine to us for Valentine's Day. This was such a great experience :-)

Located in Silverlake, this is one of the best omakase restaurants in Los Angeles. This was recommended by my son who lives in KTown, a short 20 minute drive to Osen. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday. Seated at the sushi counter, we could observe the chef preparing each course. The kitchen looked clean, sanitary and well organized. There were four chefs in the little space but they all knew their duties and weren't bumping into each other. Each plate was delivered in a timely manner and explained with detail. As you can see from the photos, the sushi glistened and was the most freshest, tender buttery smooth. My favorites were the udon made with scallop, the prime grade O-toro with caviar topping, velvety smooth chawanmushi, tofu with truffle shavings, fried crab cake with cream "bubble" . Although I'm not a fan of uni, my dining partners said it was the absolute high-end grade from Hokkaido. They also have a big selection of sake. The special omakase meal is $170 per person and you're served about 15 dishes, plus an amuse bouche and dessert. You can also supplement by adding additional sushi pieces but you really don't have to because the entire experience was quite fulfilling. Honestly, each piece tasted like it was just captured from the ocean. No fishy or metallic aftertaste like you get in some of the lower end omakase restaurants. High on my list of favorites, I'll be back to Osen whenever I visit Los Angeles.

Spectacular. My partner and I did the bar omakase for his birthday and we were thoroughly impressed. We were quite full after the 8 courses. Quality was great and the flavors an interesting mix. Also the price seemed extremely reasonable at $110. Would definitely come again. Small detail-the sushi chef noticed I was left handed and started placing the sushi at a different angle that made it more natural for me to pick it up.

We came here for my girlfriend's birthday and we had such a good time! It is a very nice and tranquil restaurant that has a serene and warm atmosphere. Service is super welcoming and hospitable, most I've experienced ever at a restaurant! We got the nagatsuki omakase ($140 x 2) together! We didn't expect to be full but we were not only filled all the way but also satisfied with every dish! Everything was very high quality! Highly recommended! Great for all very special occasions! Because it's in silver lake area parking is always going to be tough, but there's a nearby street where there's lots of street parking!

We went here on a Sunday on a whim as we were looking for a good sushi spot, something different than our usual dining places. The omakase was either 100 or 140 for more dishes. I think the standard includes sushi only, for $140 you get some small Japanese dishes with more variety. The service was good and attentive. Omakase was pretty good except for 2 dishes which made it not perfect. For one there was a wagyu beef roll that felt a bit chewy for a5 wagyu beef. Second was some chawanmushi with blue cheese - who puts blue cheese in this? Tasted very pungent and strange. Sushi was pretty good but that is easy to do at many high end sushi places. Ambience was nice, nothing special. The restaurant was mostly empty on a Sunday evening at 6 pm. Omakase was good overall, seemed pretty balanced, but again not perfect for $140. Could have used a couple extra dishes.

I went shortly after they opened, so it was quiet and service was quick. To start I ordered the yellowtail kumquatccio & the A5 wagyu with amaebi. I like how refreshing the yellowtail was with the ponzu and kumquat. The A5 with amaebi is the perfect bite; it's juicy & has so much flavor. I ordered the bluefin spicy tuna hand roll, toro & scallion hand roll, & spicy scallop hand roll. The toro just melts in your mouth and the spicy tuna/spicy scallop has a nice kick to it. The quality of the food was great--fresh ingredients and well-prepared dishes. However, the overall experience felt way too long. We were there for 2.5 hours on Valentine's Day, which was honestly excessive, especially with long gaps between some courses. The portions were small, as expected for omakase, but the pacing made it feel even more drawn out. It was still a unique experience, but the wait times really took away from the enjoyment. Not sure if this was just because of the holiday, but I'd think twice before coming back on a busy night.

    Diana L.

This place is amazing! We've been to the izakaya and thought it was meh, but decided to give the omakase location a try. We originally went for Dine LA menu, but instead went for the regular menu because it just looked too enticing. The appetizers were WOW, not only were they delicious but also very creative. The server would explain every dish to us, the content and how they're made. Ambiance is your typical sushi restaurant vibe. Would definitely come back but will take Uber next time, parking in the area is always problematic.

    Kunous K.

Other than the price tag nothing I should complaint... Everything is top notch, the food, the service, the vibe... If I have to pick something to criticize I would say the uni stir rice is a bit too overwhelming, I don't eat much uni that's why I find it pretty fishy...

The service was absolutely on pointe thanks to Kaiya, Teri, and Randy. Warm, polished, attentive, and just the right amount of fun. Hubs and I split everything, which was the right move because this meal was rich, delicious, and very filling. We started with the baguette bread service, which is an additional charge but 100% worth it. The bread, salted butter, and mixed berry spread were pure France in a basket. Next up was the French onion soup, and wow. Cheesy, full of flavor, with a beautiful broth that somehow managed to be rich without being too salty. Perfection. Then came the Big Mec burger, as seen on Food Network's top burgers -- and yes, it absolutely lives up to the hype. Definitely enough for two. Perfectly seasoned patties, melty cheese, a fresh brioche bun, and that bordelaise sauce bath underneath? Flavor-forward, decadent, and unforgettable. We rounded out the meal with a slice of French toast because apparently we make excellent life choices. Also delicious, also worth sharing. This was not just lunch -- it was an experience. Will I go back? Absolument! Next up: dinner.

Got seated on the patio on a beautiful day, so we were perfectly happy. After a quick glance at the menu, our recommendations from our server, we decided to order. We started with the escargot, as one does at a French restaurant, and the French onion soup. The escargot cube bathed in butter, garlic and parsley and were very tasty. I mean, how can they not be when bathed in garlic and butter? The French onion soup was also delicious with ample gruyere cheese overflowing. Pure indulgence! For entrees, we all tried something different. The steak frites were.... steak frites. If you've tried one, you've tried most, so not very memorable. The duck confit was cooked well and not overly fatty, which was nice. The omelette, let me say, is beautiful to look at. You almost don't want to touch it because it is very picrure-esque, and absolutely cooked perfectly. A, dare I say, perfect omelette. Finally was the Big Mec. Now, there are a lot of good burgers in Los Angeles, but the Big Mec is one of the greats. So much flavor with the double wagyu patties, cheese, special sauce all while sitting in a Bordelaise sauce. It isn't something you would eat every day, as it is heavy, but it is phenomenal when you do. I'd say one of the top five burgers in Los Angeles, in my humble opinion. Overall, delicious French restaurant in Hollywood, a little above Hancock Park, serving delicious food. Get the escargot and French onion soup to start, and definitely get the omelette and the Big Mec, you will not be disappointed.

The lights and ambiance are truly insane. I have never experienced anything like it. Let me backtrack too and say that I paid $14 for valet which tbh is not too bad considering I didn't have to worry about my car or anything so it was worth it. Okay the food. We got Parker rolls and the Mezze plate for the table. Wow, the Parker rolls were as you would expect. Buttery goodness. French butter as you know...top tier. Okay the Mezze plate? Every single sauce was so good. The little cous cous thing in the Mezze plate was so cute and yummy. Then the main dishes. Seven vegetable couscous was great. As a Moroccan, I can say it was a great vegetarian version of the dish. Has the staple veggies you look for in a cous cous. My friend got the vegan cauliflower steak and that was so beautiful and tasted delicious. It was a great dish for my vegan friend. Our waiter was so nice and really personable as well. She chose this place for the Instagram worthy atmosphere you see online, but I would say it falls a little short of how picturesque it is. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice garden setup up, but we were expecting a more romantic and whimsical layout. We also noticed that the dress code is very loosely enforced as there were numerous people there with T shirts on. We got there for our reservation about 15 minutes early and was seated quite fast. The hostesses at the front were quite friendly and the wait staff were attentive and mostly nice. One of our servers seemed a little curt at one point, but it wasn't too bad. Once you are seated they ask about your drink order, and offered wines, sparkling water, and literally said "tap water". Pretty surprised that they said tap water, but we went with a glass of wine and sparkling water. The menu is short and it's easy to make your decision. We went with the 24oz Prime Ribeye Steak, Pappardelle pasta, Kingfish Crudo, and the Portuguese Piri Piri Shrimp. The ribeye was served with scalloped potatoes and green beans that were delicious. The ribeye was a perfect medium rare, tender, and served in a very balanced sauce. The Piri Piri Shrimp was also great. Large pieces in a slightly spicy cream sauce; I would describe it as almost a Cajun flavor. These were my favorites of the dishes we ordered on this night. The Kingfish Crudo was a nice choice. I believe it was yellowtail served with small pieces of cherry tomatoes and peach chunks. The sauce was nice and refreshing with a little sweetness. The Pappardelle Pasta was ok, and probably my least favorite dish of the night. It wasn't bad, but wasn't on par with the rest of our meal. The thick pasta noodles were al dente, and the sauce was nice and creamy with pieces of green beans. It got better once we mixed the poached egg into the sauce, but still didn't get it to the point where we would order it again. Since it was my fiancé's birthday, she wanted to get one of their desserts served as a small birthday. She saw pictures of their passion fruit coconut cheesecake on Instagram and wanted that, but they changed it where the passion fruit was at the bottom of the cake. I thought it was decent, but not a great dessert. I thought the staff would at least sing happy birthday like other restaurants, but that didn't happen here. Overall, The Little Door is a small romantic stop to have a date night. I don't know if I would consider it a place to celebrate a special occasion though. I think we would come back, but not for anything big. Also, I would recommend using the valet, it's right in front and they only charge $14 pre tip.

The beef was fork tender and cooked really nicely but I just thought the sauce was too strong. Everything else was nice! - pistachio crème brulee (5/5): I was so surprised but this was so good!! Never had these flavors before but it was the perfect blend of light and airiness with a hint of pistachio! Service was standard, they give table bread which was good and fresh! Parking is tough since it's in DTLA but it was easy on a Sunday night!

You'll need to venture a little deeper into the plaza to find it, but it's well worth the effort. They were offering a pre-fix menu during our visit, which was a great way to sample a variety of dishes. The standout items for us were the ENDIVE SALAD, BURGUNDY SNAILS, 48-HOUR DUCK LEG CONFIT, and the MOULES MARINIERES. Service was a bit slow, but the food was good. ENJOY! PS: Super weird, you have to leave the restaurant and go to a security guard in the middle of the plaza to let you in to use the restroom. Parking can be really difficult. There's no lot, but I was able to get a meter spot.

Let's talk about the food: -Wine and cheese flight- 3 Small Pours Paired with 3 Bites of Cheese (Bright Whites). This was absolutely lovely. The cheese and wine pairings were perfection. This was served with crackers and a baguette. My favorite cheese was the brie, it was super creamy. -Poulpe Aux Pistou- Octopus with white beans, and pesto. I do not recommend this item. The beans were a little undercooked and the octopus was chewy. I should've returned it. -Nicoise Salad- My friend had this salad and said this was one of the best ones she's ever had. The assortment of ingredients was perfect. Service was friendly but our server was running around with a large section. Our wines did not come out until after the food was delivered, and the appetizers were not coursed. I don't blame her for the lack of service as she was doing her best. The buss boys were really nice and helpful and we were able to ask for help as needed.

The owners added to the warmth of the space genuinely welcoming, the kind of presence that makes a place feel personal rather than polished-for show. The sea bass was the standout: perfectly crisped skin, buttery and delicate underneath, resting over earthy lentils that soaked up every bit of flavor. Paired with a smooth Malbec, it all came together effortlessly. But honestly, the best part of the night wasn't just the food or the wine. it was the company. The soft candlelight, a shared table, and her next to me made everything taste better. A spot that feels intimate without trying too hard. Definitely coming back.
