The only place open late night in Lincoln Park and I'm so grateful for it. The sushi rolls are great and fresh. The skewers help add something warm and are great to snack on while drinking. Speaking of drinks - their selection is great, love the soju options that help you transition from dinner to drinks and going out.

Came here around 8:30pm midweek and it was empty. The decor of the place is really nice as well as their music playing. We ordered a bunch of skewers as well as a Philly roll and Saba Yaki (not pictured). Food was delicious! Unfortunately they were out of a few skewers we wanted to try such as the chicken skin, pork neck and a few others. There was only one waitress and she was very sweet. We had a big group so food came out very inconsistently. Some people were finished eating before others even got a portion of theirs, so we were pretty disappointed with that.

I went with 2 friends after a concert around 11ish and it was pretty busy. The restaurant itself is quite small and there's not a lot of tables but they were all full when we came. We had a reservation and were seated pretty quickly. However, getting served took forever. We didn't get waters until we flagged down a server and then we had to wait longer to get our orders taken. We did feel bad because there was really only one main server running all the tables and it seemed like they were helping in the back as well. The food was alright - some better than others. But it is nice that this place was open so late because we wanted Asian food after the concert.

Broad Japanese menu, cozy dining area, open late, and really affordable. The sushi was good, there's tempura, and a good selection of yakitori. The service was quick and friendly. Loved the pork belly, beef tongue, and chicken skin.

Ordered once on Ubereat and I was super disappointed. The portion is so SMALL and the price is very PRICEY compared to the food portion. Saba Yaki: the fish is really thin and small. The price for this is $20.70, DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT!!! The taste was ok, but not worth trying. Ika Sansai Salad: Just a standard level salad, not the best I had so far. Again, not really worth it became the bottom half is filled with veggies. Hamachi Kama: Another VERY small and think piece! The flavor was just alright, not overly salty. But not with it ($20.70). Hotate: very sad looking two pieces of Hotate for $6.40. It was a bit salty and it wasn't really fresh because it got a bit of fishy taste. Overall, I don't recommend this place. The dishes are just standard-level, but the price is very high.

Super cute Japanese place in Lakeview. Friend booked us a reservation for 7:30pm. We had a good time trying a variety of items. This place has Sake and Chardonnay and some beer. We ended up having a glass of Chardonnay and doing a couple Sake Bombs (Sake & Kirin beer). For food: Short Ribs (2 plates), Chicken Screwers, Edamame, Crab Rangoons, Philly Sushi Roll, Red Snapper Sashimi, Chicken noodles, 2 Chardonnay and 3 Kirin with a bottle of sake. We shared the food between 3 people and enjoyed our choices. Standout was Short Ribs and Chicken Screwers. The sushi was just okay...but probably because I am used to Americanized version. The fish was very fresh so no complaints on that. I am just used to more glitzy rolls. All in all, would come back. Prepare for parking as Lincoln has limited street parking and cars must move at 10pm on Friday and Saturday. So stupid of the city to dampen the businesses with these parking policies.

Underrated spot. There were only 2-3 tables with diners for a Friday night. We shared some hot sake to start which was the right fix as the weather gets cooler! We tried the following: sashimi appetizer - good healthier option lollipop roll- roll with no rice - angel roll- meh - spicy Mexican- this was a hit. Good flavor. roasted eggplant - this was a fail...I think i was expecting a more miso flavor and not so much garlic. The skin was burnt and bitter but the inside was fine.

I was hesitant to try this authentic looking Lincoln park sushi bar solely because of the name ( the 2AM part made me assume this would be a dive place for college kids with lousy food). I was totally incorrect and I'm so glad I I finally tried it as the food was GREAT overall and very fairly priced. The miso soup and ginger salad were average. That said, the spicy Mexican roll and spicy tuna roll, rainbow roll and salmon avocado rolls were all outstanding. Seriously some of the freshest tasting fish I'v had in a long time ( and they served everything on a wooden boat which made the dining experience fun for our 11 year old and made for a beautiful presentation). I will be back for sure. This is a neighborhood gem and won't disappoint.

Such a huge variety on their menu, and very affordable as well! It's a very cute, smaller venue, which is nice for smaller groups, not so as much for bigger parties. Staff is nice and hospitable here as well. Will definitely be returning. I wanna try as much of the menu as possible!

    Crab Rangoon comes with one...

I ordered takeout from here and laughed at the portions for the prices. The crab Rangoons order came with one. The chicken skewer was a little tiny piece of chicken. $70 takeout was not worth it here at all!

I love the decorations, the food plating/presentations is stunning. To go orders could stand for improvement in terms of packaging but still so good! Star are kind and helpful

This is a great add to the area given that way too many places close so early - one of my biggest complaints about Chicago. Thankful this is open until 2am as the name suggests. Our server was extremely nice the entire time and also made us aware of their fresh fish specials (literally noting that fresh fish is shipped in almost daily). We ordered a miso soup, Hamachi Kama (yellowtail), a Philly roll, and the Sashimi dinner. Everything tasted fantastic! I was a huge fan of my grilled yellowtail. It really did taste very fresh and was super flavorful. The sashimi dinner had 7 different types of sashimi with 3 of each. Honestly, this might be some of the freshest tasting fish and sashimi I've had in Chicago since moving here. The quality was excellent, and it didn't have any of that fishy flavor. It melted in our mouths. That fact that this place is BYOB (yes, you can literally bring your Sapporo or a bottle of Sake from the street) AND they have excellent quality food, AND they're open late leads me to believe that this may be one of my favorite spots to return to! I wish it was closer to me, but I highly recommend it. Also the dimmer blue lighting inside adds to the ambiance and mood. I'll be back!

    Michelle L.

My favorite late night sushi bar to visit in Chicago ever. Sushi quality is pretty good and we always order the sushi/sashimi combo or the sashimi platter (lollipop roll is tasty as well). The shrimp & chicken gizzard skewers are juicy and have the perfect crunch, and if I'm super hungry, I get the okra and shishito peppers. Service is pretty good and timely depending on how busy it is but it's luckily a hidden gem still. Love the interior & they also brightened up the place.

MingHin was packed, loud, and a little chaotic. Worth it. Dim sum is an experience as much as a meal and MingHin delivers on both fronts. We ordered more than we could keep track of. Soup dumplings that immediately became the kids' personal obsession. Shu mai that hit every time. BBQ pork buns in every form they offered because obviously. Chinese broccoli to balance out the indulgence. Everything was solid, fresh, and exactly what you want from a dim sum spread. The room was packed and buzzing but the service kept up impressively. Servers were constantly circling, clearing empty plates and dishes without missing a beat. Clean and attentive even at full capacity, which is no small thing. Fair warning if you are bringing little ones: this environment is a lot. The noise, the crowd, the overwhelming parade of food arriving at the table. Our kids loved what they ate but the sensory experience was a bit much for them. This is a place better suited for a group of adventurous adults or older kids who thrive in high energy environments. Prices are great for the quality and quantity of food you get. A Chinatown institution for good reason. Just know what you are walking into and embrace it fully.

BUT, as wonderful as the food is, the last 5 visits have been dreadful. The angry waitresses are part of the deal, but when we're spending a few hundred bucks on dinner, enough is enough. Asking for extra sauce and being told NO- asking for extra bao wrappers and being told NO, asking for extra daikon for the duck when we're given a half full dish in the first place in unacceptable. And like I said, that's part of the deal. And the food is so good that you put up with it. But what happened last week was the last straw. We ordered egg rolls, 2 large dumpling soups, pot stickers, a whole duck, medium ribs, sweet and sour chicken, and for an appetizer, a medium BBQ pork. When the server brought the pork, first, it was cold. I guess that's also the deal. Sometimes it's hot, sometimes totally cold. But this time, and I'm not exaggerating, more than half of the order was pure white fat. Not fatty pork, white solid fat. we tried chewing git to see if there was any meat, but no. So, I finally got the servers attention and showed her. She looked at it, and then walked away. I assumed she was going to bring us a new order. Instead, the owner walked over. I showed her the 2 plates- 1 plate with half of the solid white fat, and the other plate with chewed up fat pieces. Instead of apologizing and bringing over a new order, she said "sometimes the pigs we get are very fatty". So I replied something like "sure I get that, but you can't serve this to customers" and " can you please bring us a new order of actual pork and not just a plate of fat"??? and she then looks down at both plates and says "you already ate it so we can't do anything. I tell her that, no, I didn't eat anything- you can see a plate with chewed up and spit out fat, but she literally WALKS AWAY. So then of course we wait for her to bring a new order over, but that never happens. And we're loyal customers for many many years, and she knows us. This extreme lack of care for your longtime customers is nauseating. Like I said, we've put up with it for years because we love the food (as well as putting up with the many health code violations over the years), but after this huge fuck you from the owner over a few bucks worth of pork? We're done. And our friends are done. This rude pathetic refusal to admit that you're serving inedible food and take care of your loyal customers with a few dollars in pork will now cost you THOUSANDS of dollars every year, because we have now told 20 of our friends to stop going, and they all agreed with us. Creamy, nutty, crunchy from the peanuts, packed with flavor, and not overly spicy. It was my first time trying dan dan noodles and now I totally understand the hype. 8/10. No thank you, no nothing. She just grabbed it and left. The place has potential, but they really need to fix the food and retrain the staff. A cool vibe doesn't make up for bad food and awful service.
