Food was flavorful. We had tom yum soup, basil chicken and pineapple fried rice. We finished all our food and were thoroughly satisfied.

After quite a few return visits, I'm upgrading my review of 2C Thai to a 5. I've tried a lot of different menu items--curry, noodles, stir-fried wok items, fried rice.... and it's all consistently delicious. I don't think I've disliked anything I've had. Some of my favorites are the panang curry, simple noodles, and stir-fried garlic green beans. The vegetables are clearly fresh, and are cooked enough to be tender but are never overcooked. The mango and sweet sticky rice dessert is a wonderful treat--simple yet a good contrast of flavor and texture. The drink selection is also lovely. I've sampled multiple teas and the lychee martini. The teas I've had are all good and they give you a whole little teapot worth, not just one cup. The lychee martini was sweet, fruity and yummy--a bit light on the actual alcohol, but I also did spread it out over the course of my meal. I would have liked a few more of those... :P read more

How is it that I haven't reviewed this place yet?! I've been here a couple times, but have taken food out to go many times. Dishes have bright flavors here, and there is a unique presentation that separated 2C Thai from other thai restaurants in the area. I love love love their papaya salad, it is more satisfying with the added avocado(no extra cost!) and green beans. Very refreshing and complements any curry/noodles/rice dish perfectly. The avocado curry is amazing here. Doesn't look as good as it tastes, but don't be fooled! The pad thai is above standard, nice bright flavors and perfect amount of sweetness/tamarind to it. This place is nicely decorated, very modern and clean. They also have a full bar if you would like to get cocktails, but I have yet to try those. I usually just go for thai tea, like, who doesn't?! I feel like every time I order from here, I tend to get the same things. Really need to try more of their amazing food. Take outs don't take more than 15 minutes, they're always ready when I come in to pick up my food. Same with eating in -- the service is quick and food is served promptly. This was hands down one of our favorite Thai places in Seattle until today. We ordered $60+ worth of take out only to have the delivery guy say we were missed charged and owed $5.00 more and we needed to add it to the tip. Which we would have happily paid if his attitude had been better. Then when we called the restaurant about it they said it was our fault. We also mentioned we didn't get any utensils to eat with and we were told we "should have said something". Seriously? The rudeness was unbelievable. It's a shame because it was such a good go to place before this. Can't say they will have our repeat business any time soon. read more

I think this is my go-to Thai food place up in north Seattle! I love their pad see ew, Phad Thai, tom yum soup, and papaya salad! I believe the portion size is generous for a Thai restaurant. I have to say that their pad see ew is one of my favorites in all of the greater Seattle area! I'm also a fan of the crab Rangoons! Very consistent in taste and service is always friendly. I don't go to Lake City that often, but was in mood to try something new tonight. I got a 5-star ginger with beef and jasmine rice. Also, got an order of Thai iced tea, which I haven't had for ages. Since I requested the waitress to make it very lightly sweetened, she did she that she'd have to add more milk to the tea. End result, it was diluted down, but no harm. I requested it that way. The seafood pad thai looked amazing. It was nice to see that it was actually a mix of seafood (shrimp, mussels, scallop, and squid). I love how they have so many hot tea options. We absolutely love Thai, and this is a fantastic option for all the classics like See Ew, Phad Thai, Panang Curry, etc. The house noodles with basil was delightful. We just moved into the neighborhood, so it's now our mission to try everything on the extensive menu. We often order two dishes, and take home two boxes of leftovers for future lunches. Great way to be "economical" as well as to frequently enjoy this establishment. Love the convenience, pricing, tastiness, staff, atmosphere, everything. When you order thai tea to go, you even get this nifty plastic holder that keeps your straw in check and you don't have to freeze your hand off on the way home. They've thought of everything. If there's any complaint, it can only be parking. The lot designated for 2C Thai can be a tad sketchy. We like the parking lot by Bartell's better! read more

I came here with my wife for lunch. She loves the place and its close to her work. I should have stuck with what I know but I tried something new. I will probably try them again because of my wife but on my own I would go somewhere else. I started with Crazy Calamari. I dont know what was crazy about it. The calamari where tender but the sauce was just sweet. My main meal was the Crying Tiger. First off the whole thing was cold. The steak was cold as was the rice. The sauce was almost an ice cube it was so cold. Also it says the sauce is spicy. More like bland. As was the steak. Not sure why everything was so cold. But add to that the chewy steak and you end up with a very bad dish. read more

Absolutely delicious! Easily my favorite Thai restaurant in Seattle! My friend and I have been here many times and tried a variety of menu items. Our top 3 have to be the pad thai, tom kha soup, and the crab fried rice. The pad thai is delicious and not too sweet like some restaurants. I've had both the chicken as well as the tofu which were equally tasty. Typically I order 4 stars for spice as most restaurants tend to go light on the chili oil. However the first time I got 4 stars here and wow my pallet was on fire! The next time I got 3 stars which was perfect! The tom kha is easily a tie for my other favorite dish. It is so creamy and has a fantastic coconut flavor. The spice level is again perfect here with the rich coconut balancing it out. Finally, the crab rice is to die for! They actually put a pretty decent amount of crab on top of the rice which I really appreciate! You can also tell it is good quality and not cheap imitation crab. My friend got this dish and was raving about it all night. Overall, 2C is a fantastic hidden gem up in lake city. Ordered delivery and gave clear instructions to come to our door, only to have the delivery guy call and say he was outside and ask me to come down and get it. I oblige, only he isn't outside and doesn't pick up his phone. After finally answering he tells me he's actually inside (so then why didn't he come to our door?!). After I find him I see that our sodas are fountain drinks in plastic cups with ice, not the standard can or bottle you get with delivery. We were charged $2.50 for each drink which came from a fountain and cost them ten cents, which came with ice and were flat and watered down. To top it off the food was average and definitely not worth the 4.6 stars it has on google. My pad Thai was ordered with tofu & veggies, I got a few pieces of tofu and almost no vegetables. I also did not receive the extra limes and peanuts I requested. Overall: poor experience, average food, and overpriced. read more

We love this place - it has become our favorite Thai restaurant in Seattle, hands down! We've found the service is good, the food is fresh and flavorful, and the prices are good. It looks like most of the negative reviews are based on problems with to-go orders. We've never ordered to-go. Our only knock on the place is their hours - we like late lunches, and we have to work around their afternoon closing between lunch and dinner (which, frankly, I don't understand). We love the basil chicken, all the curries, the eggplant and the tom ka gai. And they have the most amazing house-made prick nam pla ever (that's the stuff in the spice tray that's neither chili flakes nor chili sauce). read more

I would say 2.5 rating. I had high expectations from the reviews. Got the chicken laab (asked for very spicy, and it was not spicy at all), wonton soup, and yellow curry. Chicken laab was not juicy. Wonton soup tasted bland and plain. The wontons were not that good to me. Although, I should have known more about the texture since they are chicken wontons. Yellow curry was really sweet, then had the kick at the end (asked for very spicy again but still did not meet our spice standards). Service is good and we got seated right away. But I'm probably not gonna come here unless I'm desperate for food. I'm not sure if it was the stuff I ordered or what... it just didn't float my boat. read more

With so many Thai restaurants everywhere, it's hard to tell one apart from the shuffle. This particular restaurant stands above most in my book. First, the restaurant is clean and charmingly designed. Second, the food tastes better than a lot of Thai joints out there. They use quality ingredients and it shows. Third, management and ownership is proud and ready to dish out hospitality with some straight up yummy food. It's been rumored that the owner and staff are super experienced with Thai cuisine and formally worked at popular Thai restaurants all over the Seattle area. I was very excited to see a thai food place in my neighborhood open up, and even more excited to see all the yelp reviews. And the verdict? It's not the best in Seattle for sure. However, It's probably one of the better thai restaurants in the Northgate/Lake city area. I've tried the food here twice. Once dining in and once to-go. The first time, I had the crispy basil chicken and the phad khee mao along with thai tea. The phad khee mao was decent - although I wished it had more of a sweetness to it, rather than just soy-saucy. The basil chicken pieces were too big - as a result, the chicken was a bit dry to taste. The drizzled sauce had good flavor, but there was definitely not enough! So this made the chicken seem even more dry. On a separate occasion, my boyfriend tried the Khao Soi and he said it was NOT good. For delicious Khao Soi, go to Pestle Rock. The second time, I ordered phad thai with beef to go. This is the best dish by far that I've had here. I would almost even say it's one of my favorites in Seattle. FYI, I am VERY picky about my phad thai because I have eaten it at so many restaurants. The perfect phad thai to me is not too sweet, NO ketchup, and a great balance between tangy and spicy, and 2C's fit this criteria. The only downside is the meat to noodles ratio is too low and the beef can be a bit chewy. The ambiance of the restaurant is super cute and modernish. They also have a bar, so if you want beer/cocktails with your food, this would be perfect. read more

Wanted to try someplace new and I'm glad me and my boyfriend went here! It was nice and cozy and the food was great! I got the massamun curry and it was delicious! It was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy and spice and I loved the peanuts in the curry. It's also nice that the curry comes with rice with no extra charge. I also got the black peach ginger tea and it was good too! I got the hot tea so they brought out a small tea pot and cup so that I could pour for myself whenever I wanted more which is nice. The service was also great as everyone was very polite and friendly. I would definitely recommend coming here and I look forward to coming back again :) read more

The Green Avocado curry was the best green curry we had ever tasted, it came with avocado, green beans, eggplant, and some other goood stuff! The Pineapple fried rice was great but no the best, however it had chicken and shrimp already in it! One of the best Thai spots i've been to. Very clean, very good. Their yakisoba is unique plus for me because most Thai restaurants don't offer that. I didn't try their pad thai until a few visits in, and it was really good hands down. Ahhhh, my inner Thai lovin food side has discovered another yummy spot. Located in the midst of the small shops that lined along Lake City Way, is this cute little Thai place. It's not a huge restaurant but it feels quite cozy and intimate with its soft wooden décor, dim lighting and cute designs around the place. As usual, came in for an early dinner and went a little crazy with the food order. The menu here offers a large selection of Thai dishes (quite a few vegetarian options too!), with reasonable prices and solid portions. I got the: Garden Rolls, Chives Cake, Yellow Curry, Pineapple Fried Rice, papaya salad and Thai Ice Tea. The garden rolls itself, were pretty average (full of various veggies) BUT the sauces that came with the rolls were delicious!! The peanut sauce was sweet, creamy, and had a good balance of the nutty flavor. The other sauce, was more of a sweet and sour taste with a hint of spice in it (similar to an eggroll sauce). When you combined both together for the roll, it taste really different and refreshing. The papaya salad was pretty tasty too. A bit of tartness and full of fresh veggie flavors, this was quite a tasty dish! As for the chives cake, it was chewy, moist, and very flavorful. You can taste the chives without it being too overwhelming and again, the sauce was on point. This time, the sauce was a mixture of soysauce with chili and it paired well with the chives cake. For the main courses, the yellow curry and pineapple fried rice were delightful. For the yellow curry, we went with the vegetarian option (paid an extra dollar more for extra vegetables) and for a 3/5 star for spice level, this dish deliver just the right amount of spiciness without needing to whip out a tissue for the runny nose. The curry was creamy with its coconut milk flavor, the veggies were soft and not too mushy and the portion itself is large enough to share with another person. As for the pineapple fried rice, this dish mainly consists of chicken (you could get other options) + shrimp + veggies + pineapple, all mixed in fried rice style with curry flavoring. It may sound like a strange dish combination but it's a tasty one. Spicy, sweet, and savory, this was well made since the rice wasn't too mushy or wet from the curry sauce and you can taste all the different flavors. Service here was quick and friendly. For the month, there's a special deal going on at the moment where you can get a 10% discount from your dine in bill. =] Plus, if you're in the mood for Thai food at home, this place does offer free delivery if you're within a 3 mile range. Yum!! I've been waiting for this place to open for quite some time now, as I'm a serious Thai food addict. The first true test for me is always the 5-Star Chicken Pad Thai, and it did not disappoint. When 2c first opened there was an issue with a taste consistency, but they've nailed it down now after a few years in operation. It is SO delicious and they give you such a generous amount. They also actually listen to my 5 star spice request and don't skimp here. I also had the fresh rolls (called garden roll here) which were yummy and quite a big portion (4 rolls). However, I do want to note that they don't use peanut sauce for these here, it's a variation of a sweet chili glaze sauce. Over time I've also tried the wings (DELICIOUS), the crab rangoon (yumz), and the fried spring rolls. Honestly, I've never had an appetizer that's disappointed me here. You really can't go wrong. I wish their Garden Roll would have a choice of meat--great veggies but a choice of meat would be nice. Service is a bit slow here so come expecting to wait a while and don't be on a time crunch--the food is worth it! Getting a refill on water or the check takes a while too--we didn't get any water refilled. Kee Mao flavorful and veggies fresh and crunchy. The large chicken slices were a plus and cooked to the right texture. Thai fusion pasta's flavor is almost like spaghetti sauce. The veggies were fresh and crispy tasting. Tuesday is always a sad day since 2C is closed! I love this place. It actually took over another thai place that did not do so well and closed, and now 2C came in and renovated the whole interior and has a completely different menu. It is very well done! Pros: 1. Amazing food (favorite is crispy basil chicken) 2. Super friendly staff 3. Great interior Cons: 1. Sometimes language creates interesting situations (for example, last 3 times I had different outcomes with me requesting split checks) I highly recommend this place if you love Thai. TBH, it is way better quality food and service than the competitor down the road at Thai One On. I would never go back to the other thai place because 2C is on a whole other tier better!
