A friend and I came here for the Alice in Wonderland escape room and we had the best time! 10/10 theming, puzzles and riddles. I won't spoil anything for you, but it was challenging, fun and definitely made us think and work together. I like that you get unlimited clues -- we needed to use a few but tried to space them out to when we were really stuck. Becca was an excellent clue master, too. Definitely recommend doing an escape room here!

My friends and I had such a fun time doing the Mission Sigma VR room! I believe only this Melrose location had VR escape games while the other locations are the non-VR ones. We found parking on the street and walked a few blocks to the place. We entered through the bottom front door, where you may need someone to ring you in. First thing they do is make sure we scan the QR code and sign the waiver. As a heads up, they don't accept @yahoo emails! Lol I had to use my Gmail one for them to accept. I had a blast but knocked down a point since there were one too many technical difficulties. The VR technology was dynamic and intuitive, with little to no lag. However, there were two instances where the game turned black and they had to reset us. At one point everyone in the group couldn't see each other and ended up playing alone. When we asked for help, it took them over 5 mins to respond and insisted we were in different parts of the game which we clearly weren't. We communicated the clock was frozen and we were seeing the same room, but not each other. With all the restarts, it showed we escape in 9 minutes, but most likely over an hour. Good thing no one had a game booked after us. I noticed they wipe down the gear after each group's use and also offered hand sanitizers post-game. Glad they stay sanitized ! Overall it was a fun experience, I would recommend this place! Hope what we experienced was not a common issue, because I would come here again to try their other VRs rooms.

I believe his name is Pongo. Such a sweetie!

First time doing a VR escape room and must say it was pretty cool. We did the Madusa room which was hard but not hard. Took some team work and communication for sure! But loved it! We did have some glitches with the hand remotes a few times though. Our game guy was great!! So accommodating and helpful. Thank you!!

Today was my third escape room here - the staff are always super rad and helpful! Today we had Sam and Connor (sp?) who were both a delight, and parking was a breeze (you've gotta come here during the liminal space that is the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve, trust). Even though we didn't beat Dracula we got closer than I'd anticipated. Thanks for a super fun time y'all :)

Great experience at 60out! Ive done about 40+ escape rooms and this definitely was one of the memorable ones! The place was fairly easy to find, street parking so plan accordingly! Lobby is really cute and nice to wait in. Game hosts were super welcoming and nice! We did Grandma's Master Plan. They let us know its one of their harder rooms, we were up for the challenge! From the setting to the storyline to the linearity of the puzzles, this room was definitely well thought out! Some of these puzzles I havent seen before but I really enjoyed. I give this a 5 star experience with one comment: The host mentioned that they give unlimited hints; which is great! They mentioned if a hint is needed, the whole group must come to a consensus then flag down the camera at the same time. However we never actually formally asked for a hint and the host would start giving us nudges here and there anyway. I believe if we were given a few moments to think we'd be able to get thru without the hint, but I mean I guess that was nice of them to lend a hand! I was just confused because none of us asked for hints hahaha All in all, great room and great experience! Would definitely return

WOW! What a great experience following a faux pas of a night My roommate and a friend of ours had come to this location after being forced to do a room with a secondary group we had no connection with another escape room located in CC. After accidentally signing up for their virtual room, I quickly called them and asked if they had a physical room available to accommodate my group. They offered the ghost ship and said all we needed to do was pay the difference. Parking is a bit tough as its located on melrose, so you either get lucky finding a spot or pay the 10$ for the public park The room was crafted and all puzzles were fun to figure out. Clues that were given when asked were also helpful! Thanks game master Jenna! Looking forward to coming back to check out the harder games they have to offer

Seemingly unassuming room with 4 VR headsets attached to the ceiling. Don't be foold, this room is where magic happens.

tl,dr: fantastic VR escape room exp! An absolute must-try. Likes: + My party of 4 did the Jungle VR escape room. It was a spectacular setup. + I like that when placing an online reservation for your game, you have two payment options: pay in full, or pay $60 upfront and the rest when you show up. That way, if you have to cancel last-min, you don't get charged in full. + I really appreciate that despite our several-min late arrival due to my friends struggling to find parking, the venue were patient with us and did not charge extra. + In your escape room, there's a basket to put your belongings before you start your game. + VR is amazing!! While wearing the headset, where you look, your character looks. While holding the controllers, where you move your hands, your character's hands move. You can interact with the objects in the virtual world as if they're really there! Whoo!! And you can see your friends and their actions in the virtual world in real time! + I appreciate the 5min tutorial that comes before starting the game. + In-game, the irrelevant watermelons are hilarious to grab, smash, and toss to your friends lol + The puzzles were fun and easy enough. Good team-building experience. + The staff were polite and helpful throughout the exp. + Although I dislike the general LA parking situation, thankfully there were several open spots right in front of the venue. Always keep a pack of quarters in your car. Non-likes: - Max occupancy for the Jungle escape game is 4 ppl. So our 5th friend couldn't join. - My VR headset is a bit close to the wall. So in game when I'm reaching for something, at times I accidentally knocked the controller against the wall. - They only have 1 restroom. Tips: . Since your whole party will be occupied during the game, none of your friends will be available to take a pic/vid of everyone playing the game. So you may wanna ask a staff member to do the favor. Ask them to take a couple pics/short vids of your gang while y'all are playing the game. Something nice to look back on. . They have a 10%-off Yelp check-in offer. When you show up to your game, you may wanna ask how that check-in offer works. We forgot to. . You may wanna remind your friends not to shout. Even though we're in one room together, we're also communicating via headset, so your friend's voice comes out loud right next to your ears. . For the most part, you're standing in place. Almost all the motion is done with your hands, looking around with your head, turning in place, and maybe crouching just to pick something up. You shouldn't need to take more than 1-2 steps at any time. Locomotion is done via controller buttons. This design is so you don't physically move too far from your VR headset ceiling anchorage. Suggestion to business owner: If you've visited other non-VR escape room venues, they provide various quick puzzles in the front lobby for guests to solve for fun while awaiting their next game. It'd be awesome if you could do the same. Total price for our game, party of 4: $145.60

How does the 10%-off Yelp check-in work exactly? Normally you have to reserve your game ahead of time, so you're probably doing that from home. But to check-in, you'd have to be physically at the store. But by the time you show up to your game, you w

How much does it cost for 8 people?

All of our rooms are on a sliding scale beginning at about $120 for two people. Jumanji, which fits anywhere from four players to eight, can cost upwards of $416 at peak hours on the weekend. For the most accurate cost, check out our website at…

Which room would be appropriate for a group of 12 year olds first time escape roomers (if any)?

I have only done the Jumanji room, but that would certainly be appropriate. It is also a really great room.

Is the room private if we don't fill it up? Or do we have to share with people we don't know?

Each game room has a designated number of participants and they don't mix you up with people you don't know. Check because each game room had different number of participants from 2-8.

Looking for a good medium-level, kid-friendly escape room. Would the Jumanji room be too difficult for a few 10-year-olds and a couple of adults?

Hello, Alaina! I have to admit that Jumanji is one of the most difficult rooms at our location. You would love the puzzles and the atmosphere of the game. I am absolutely sure that your family will love this room. We can not guarantee you escaping…

Would love to confirm before going: Is Jumanji a 60-minute or a 75-minute game?

Hello Matthew! Jumanji is a 60-minute game. If you're looking for a 75minute escape check out our Grandma's Masterplan at the same location!…

Hi! Can anyone tell me where we can park? Is there parking spots for this location in the back or street parking available?

Hello Jennifer! At the Melrose location we have about 5 spaces in the back, marked with orange…

Do you think 8 people is too big for the Jumanji room? If so, what room would you recommend for a majority of newbies? Thanks in advance!

The Jumanji is a very hard level room but that's what makes it perfect for large groups such as 8 players. Since this room is different than most of our rooms each player is given a character or role so there will be plenty of puzzles for each…

Hi I was wondering at this location as well if the rooms would be ok with people who have claustrophobia issuses?

Hello Andrew! We understand why being locked into a room to escape would worry those with claustrophobia, but all of the rooms at this location are pretty large; the size of an average bedroom. Besides the rooms not actually being very small we are…

From the moment you step into the Escape Hotel, you are immersed in its story. All the staff were dressed and acted in character.
