My daughter loves the BBQ Pork, Hot Honey Lemon Drink & Hot Chocolate; my husband loves roast duck and I loves their Choi Sum, congee , noodles, mix vegetable dish, milk tea and more. Servers are attentive and courteous, when it is busy, it can take a bit longer for food to come. I love this restaurants on a late night especially when purple dot and hk cafe are overfilled with obnoxiously loud people on the weekends. This place is highly misunderstood. I can relate because my first impression of the place was not great: the entrance was messy, the staff wasn't particularly friendly and the floor was sticky. The food was what kept me coming back over and over again. The caveat is that you have to know what to order! Their list of food items are huge! And not all of them are a hit. I've eaten here a few times in the past and thought it was decent. I went last night, however, and our meal was really subpar so the place seems to have gone down hill. We had chow fun noodles and the "hollow vegetables with chili sauce". The chow fun was insanely greasy. After a few bites the oil and MSG created a nasty coating on my tongue that pretty much ruined my appetite. The vegetables were a bit better, although the inattentive waiter apparently had the cook make them with garlic sauce instead of the requested chili. The service was completely indifferent. However, whenever I am in the mood for Cantonese style dinner, it never disappoints. Often times you have to wait for a table at dinner time. That's doesn't happen often elsewhere in Chinatown. Price is reasonable, food is delicious, and the restaurant is clean. That's a rare combination in Chinatown. Some quick reviews: Food: 3.5/5, good tasty pseudo-authentic Chinese cuisine with the occasional Americanized dish. Not the tastiest you'll eat, but will satisfy. BBQ is their specialty here. Service: 3/5, pretty typical "Chinese" service (I'm Chinese so I can say that). Waitresses didn't smile much and were slow at times, but satisfied our requests for more rice, water, etc. Price: 4.5/5, if you don't want the high-end family-style dishes, you can order cheaper individual rice or noodle dishes for around $5-7. There are cheaper places in the neighborhood but your wallet will not feel violated afterward. For 5, our family-style dinner came out to be about $38. Overall, it's a great place for a cheap eat. We saw this place open and fell in love with the small area and the great food. Love the crispy noodles, the cashew chicken and my ex likes the sesame chicken which is good too. Food- Good and consistent. A wide variety of items including mostly Cantonese style but some northern dishes. No oyster dishes though. Service- It's Chinatown, I've been going for 20+ years and these servers get on my nerves. They can have quite an attitude at times. Dine-in is usually ok, one guy even complimented on how my biracial toddler enjoys Chinese food. Totally unnecessary but I appreciate it. But take-out (not deliver) is a different story. 90% of the time they're late on their projected time, and I mean I gave them an hour and the food was still not ready when I got there. I can tell by the dine-in tickets they lay out they prioritize the dine-in and deliveries over pick-up. I understand, I've worked at restaurants before as a teenager. But over an hour when they told me 20 minutes? Also, I often placed the order and had my "American" husband pick-up. At one time, 663 no longer has a certain dish and told my husband I lied about ordering it. My husband called me and said later even though they were nice to me on the phone they were rolling their eyes and making faces about me there. They deserve zero star I have been there couple times for to go order. Last night I went there with my girl friend for dinner. We ordered wonton noodle and claypot with chicken and salted fish. The noodle taste good. The claypot taste ok at first, but later we found that there was some rotten stuff (probably the salted fish). It was really disgusting. Both of us had severe diarrhea in the midnight, and I`m pretty sure it was the claypot that almost made us rushing to ER. This restaurant absolutely needed an official sanitary check-up! Avoid this place and go next door to Ho Ho for fresh and delicious Chinese food or to Hing-Long across the street for similar Cantonese food but of better quality. I've called to make take-out orders a few different times, throughout the course of the past couple years. giving them another chance, and maybe hoping that the person on the other end will be slightly more friendlier. Each time I call, and inquire about a dish-I'm not familiar, they are not very friendly and always feels like they think that we should know what things are. Frankly the last time there, I still wasn't happy with how they can't speak very good 'English' to the point of understanding what a dish description ' really' is, and plus the three different items I ordered- were all no good. Very bland, not much taste and had bones in something that probably shouldn't have. I could have broken my tooth...If I wasn't careful. I guess I'm going to stop trying, as things seem to be the same there, and not very understanding when it comes to explaining what things are. You want to know what your eating- right?! Ordered dinner through eat24hours (a great service) and after an hour I chatted with eat24, they called 663 Bistro who said sorry and that they were 10-15 minutes out. Two words, never again. I used Amazon Prime for delivery and they were awesome, but this restaurant sucks. The $13 deep fried prawns were lackluster and sopping with oil (worth 1/2 that price). The house chow mein noodles were dry and overcooked. The orange chicken was rancid and did not taste like typical orange chicken. The egg flower soup was slimy and dense with a bunch of disgusting pieces of tofu (I'm guessing). The beef and broccoli was OK (nothing more and nothing less). I'm sure there are far better Chinese restaurants in the ID, as my wife and me visited a great one a few weeks ago. There was a huge contrast between that place ( delicious, light egg flower soup; the best lemon chicken I have ever tasted in my life) and this place. If I can would give this place NO star! The worse bbq restaurant ever!!! I recently ordered a whole roasted pig for my engagement. When we place the order the chef asked us if we want it cut up. We said, no because it's for an engagement and we need to bless it. When the day came my fiancé went to pick up the pig. When he arrived at my mom's house, my aunt went to take look at the pig. To her surprise the pig was cut up and shaped like a turtle! WTH! (Excuse my language. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the cultural it is bad luck to have a cut up pig before blessing) At the point my aunt and my mom was very upset. We called the restaurant and asked them what happened. The chef said, he slipped and drop the pig. He could of at least have the courtesy to give us a call and told us what had happened. If so, we could have gone somewhere else or find an alternative solution. He rudely told us can bring the pig back and I will refund you. The money isn't the issues it's the integrity. As a restaurant customer service should come first. The next day, I went to complain about their lack of customer service all the owner/chef said was. "It's not my fault that the pig slipped out of hand". Not once did he apologize for his mistake. I was very disappointment with his attitude and felt very disrespected. My advice for everyone is DO NOT ORDER A WHOLE ROASTED PIG FROM THIS PLACE. THEY WILL RUIN YOUR SPECIAL DAY!!! I used enjoy coming to this restaurant with my families and friends for dinner. soooooooooooooooooooooo let me tell you, we alllllllways go here after a night of clubbin and is usually welcomed by a very nice woman, very nice and helpful, instead this night 7/20/12, was greeted by a man, whom was nice in the beginning, but at the end when it came time to pay a $79 tab, he took 4 $20's and a debit card, which he stated he will charge $20 ok. let me tell you, he already told us that he added a 15% gratuity bc the size of our party, which was OK, we are OK with that, and will give him even more tip bc he dealt with us. once someone asked him why are you taking $80 already and a debit card to charge another $20, he started making up stories saying our bill was more, which was not true, so we caught him!!!! he gave back the debit card, and we told him dont you worry, we will tip you even more, bc he was nice, until he blurted out "YOU GUYS ARE VERY CHEAP, YOU KNOW!" we said WHAT??????????????? are you serious, after charging us a 15% gratuity, and we will even give more tip he had the nerves to say that to us when we asked for the debit card back.....so you know what??!?!?!? he ended up getting $0.02 cents from us!! take that mister!!!! read more
