Their Classic chicken rice is one of my favorites in Seattle. Perfectly cooked. If you like fried chicken, you can get to combo and it comes with both types of chicken. I'm traditional so I prefer just the classic. They also have noodle soup options as well if you're not a fan of chicken and rice.
I really liked this spot! I didn't realize it was so popular too. I came for lunch on a long weekend and we had to put our name on the waitlist. The inside isn't too big but there are plenty of tables, and we waited around 15 minutes before getting seated. I got the combo chicken rice plate, which came with half poached chicken and half fried along with rice, soup, and some veggies. The poached chicken was absolutely perfect - it was so tender, soft, and juicy. I don't know how they got it that texture but it's amazing! The crispy chicken was also good, but a tad on the drier side. I also enjoyed the sauces they came with. The soup was comforting and clean and the rice was fragrant as well. Overall, highly recommend if you're craving hainese chicken rice!
A good spot for Hainanese chicken. I love that it's boneless and that the combo $21 (crispy and poached chicken) comes with a good amount of food. It includes a side of pickled veggies and soup, both of which I thought were quite tasty. We also tried the kuy teav noodle soup $19, the only noodle soup on the entire menu. It comes with rice noodles, ground pork, shrimp, pork liver, heart, meatballs, and sliced pork. All of the ingredients were fresh, though the sliced pork was a bit too dry. We ordered our food using the QR code on the table, so there wasn't much service. I really like that you can join the Yelp waitlist online, which worked out perfectly since we were only a few minutes away. It gets quite loud during the lunch hour, but overall, the food was tasty and I'll be back. It's already a regular spot for my husband since it's close to his work, but this was my first time here and I will definitely return more frequently.
I went to Amas Chicken and it was sooo good--I can't believe it took me this long to finally visit. It's a fusion of Cambodian and Chinese food, and everything tasted amazing. I got the plate with both fried chicken and boiled chicken. The chicken was super flavorful on its own, but the sauces really took it to the next level. My favorite was definitely the spicy chili sauce--it was so good. I'll 100% be coming back.
Great place when you're craving Hainanese Chicken. I had the combo chicken rice, which comes with your lighter Hainanese chicken and fried chicken. The Hainanese chicken was so tender and almost pure. It had depth and complemented the chicken fat infused rice. It's a nice balance and you can dip sauce into it if you like more intense flavors. I also liked the fried chicken because it had more texture to a tender dish and I found it nice to go back and forth. We also tried the noodles and it was decent and had a slow burn (spicy) to it but i like the rice dishes the best. The combo chicken was more than enough food for me - I left very full. Ambiance is casual. We arrived on Friday around 6:45pm, and joined a waitlist of 9 for 2 ppl. We waited about 25 minutes for a table. You sit down, order via QR code, and food comes out! Service was decent - nice and friendly and attentive - it's not a place where they'll wait on you regularly but it's also not that kind of setting. Parking is either on the street or in the H Mart complex parking lot. All in all - great eatery
Had been wanting to try A Ma for awhile when people talk about the best chicken and rice this place comes up a lot. I did grow up eating it but the two friends I visited did one of Singaporean the other is Chinese but was born in Malaysia. They have very high expectations for this dish. I've probably had it at four other locations around greater Seattle. The rice and broth are the best part here some other places the rice has been to wet and the broth hasn't been as flavorful. The ginger scallion sauce and the pickled garlic are wonderful accompaniments. Couldn't get enough of that garlic. Also appreciate the pickled veggies that come with the dish. We also ordered a bowl of the pork broth to share. The space is bright and clean. Love the antique items and the items that represent the owners culture. The dishes came out quickly. Service was fine not above and beyond but attentive as needed. Portion was generous, would return when in the area.
So glad I finally got to try A Ma! Came by at lunchtime on a Sunday and waited in line for 5 minutes before we got seated. Service was efficient - the food came out quickly and the servers seemed attentive. The store itself wasn't super large but they were able to fit a lot of us in there. Parking was easy in the big plaza lot. I got the combo chicken plate, and everything tasted really fresh. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the batter of the fried chicken was crispy and surprisingly yummy. Both paired so well with the two tangy sauces the dish came with. The included broth was very comforting and wholesome. If I had one piece of feedback, it would be that I wish we got just a few more pickled veggies. I definitely recommend this spot - there's a reason it's so popular!
Came here at 3pm on a Monday and was immediately sat, whenever I would pass by during lunch time there would be a line out the door. The space is well decorated, this is one of the few Cambodian restaurants I've tried in the Seattle area. Easy parking in Redmond Town Center. At the table it looked like you can order by QR code but the waiter was nice and came over to take my order. The food came out so quickly I was shocked at their speed! The dish is so well presented on the tray with the fresh greens on the side, two sauces, soup and then the main chicken/rice dish. There are additional chili oil, scallion oil and ginger/scallion oil on the side of the table. The chicken was so moist & tender. The sauces and chili oil gave it a kick I was looking for so definitely recommend it. 10/10 recommend, tasted and felt like comfort food, will be back.
This was my first time trying these dishes, and I really enjoyed them! The restaurant is super cute and the employees were very nice! It's a smaller restaurant and has a very cozy feel. We ordered the combo chicken rice and kuy teav noodle soup. I really enjoyed both! The food was mild in flavor and easy to eat. Like others have said, I think this would be the perfect meal to have when you're sick or low energy! I don't know how it compares to other similar restaurants, but I know that I liked it! I would definitely come back again!
Seriously glad Redmond town center has this place because it SO delicious and simple! It's one of those places I don't even care about the decor because the food is so good. I love their chicken and rice, you'll probably enjoy crispy more but both are good- and generous portions. I love the soup, taste so flavorful. I especially love the pickled garlic that's on each table. I love everything I've tried here. The service is typically quick. Coming back asap.
Great Cambodian restaurant for chicken/rice dishes! I had their combo chicken rice dish and it was very delicious! It came with steamed and fried chicken. It also came with sauces, broth, veggies, pickled veggies, and well seasoned rice. The steamed chicken went very well with their dipping sauce. The were two kinds; one salty/sweet, and one that's like spicy fish sauce (my favorite). The broth was flavorful and the seasoned rice was so good. The service was good. The server quickly took our order and the food came out pretty quickly. After they delivered the food, there wasn't much service afterwards. The ambiance was good. Nicely decorated inside. The place was busy on a random Thursday afternoon, so I'm guessing this place is popular. Definitely would come back!
Fantastic chicken rice place! Chicken rice is one of my favorite dishes and I love finding a good spot. Would recommend ordering the poached chicken here (as is typically recommended), but we tried the fried chicken as well. The fried chicken was just a little overcooked and dry, but the poached chicken was amazing! Note that the chicken flavor in the rice is slightly weaker than some other chicken rice restaurants, but I think they do this because if you add any of the sauces they provide it really brings it out (plus you can always use some of the soup if you want) so you can season it to your taste. Their sauces are great, as well as the toppings that come on the side (e.g. fermented green garlic, chili oil, etc.). Generous serving of chicken as you can see from the picture! There can be a wait (we waited about 15 minutes to be seated at dinner time on a weekday), but they have a tablet with the Yelp waitlist in front so if the wait is long you can put your name down and go do something else.

I've wanted to try A Ma Chicken Rice since it opened, and I'm glad I finally did. My friend and I shared the combo chicken rice (had both steamed and fried chicken) and we both enjoyed it a lot. You could opt to add a bowl of broth with your food, so we did that. We both appreciated being able to try both kinds of chicken because they were so good but different from each other. Personally, I enjoyed the steamed chicken more (and I'm biased because it's something I grew up eating), and my friend enjoyed the fried chicken more so it worked out really well. She liked the pickled veggies on the side, and I couldn't stop eating the rice; it was so good. The portion size was good for the two of us since we wanted something lighter rather than an entree each. We sat outside because it was a nice day and didn't require a wait. There was a bee that kept bothering us by trying to steal our food, so I'd want to sit inside in the future. Definitely looking forward to more chicken here. read more
I immediately noticed the beautifully decorayed interior! Made it feel fun and homey. Wanting to try both types of chicken, I ordered the combo chicken rice. As someone looking for all the good chicken rice in Seattle, this is currently my top contender! The boiled hainan chicken was juicy and absorbed all the aromatics and flavor. The crispy chicken had a great crunch and bite. The sauces added that perfect tang and sweetness. The pickled vegetables were also a good palette break, as was the simple but delicious soup. We enjoyed the meal overall!! Here's the breakdown! Food wise: The chicken overall is very tender, and there's no bones! So it is convenient to eat. The chicken itself lacks some flavor though, without the sauce it's not super flavorful. That's the main reason it doesn't get a full 5 star. The soup could also be hotter too, it will probably make the broth taste even better! Good portion size though, it was plenty to eat for us. Ambiance: it is a smaller restaurant but the decorations are unique and nice! A good amount of tables with a couple more tables outside. Waited a little for a table but glad they were busy! This is a fairly fast spot perfect for weekday lunch breaks. I went here solo around 12pm on a Monday and while busy, the turnover is fast and I waited no more than a minute to have the table cleaned and get seated. I got the combo chicken rice - the crispy chicken + classic chicken. It is served with pickled vegetables and chicken soup. It is fairly filling at $21 before tax and tip, so okay price. I liked the sauces that came with it - the garlic ginger and sweet and sour, both of which paired well with both chicken variations. The chicken rice is pretty flavorful and pairs well with the meat. I had an issue with how the seating arrangement is set up, as the turnover is high so there are a lot of opening and closing the door. Half the restaurant will be blown with cold air for most of the year every minute or so, or even more often, worse in the fall/winter/spring when it is colder, so dining in is not the most comfortable experience. While there is service, it felt more like a fast casual spot as they give you only a cup of water with no refills and they bring the food out and that's about it. You pay online or at the front, both costing the same. Overall, good food and fast service, though the seating could be improved. read more
For this return trip here on a Friday night, I ended up getting the same thing as I did last time: the combo chicken rice. I still consider it the best dish they have here, and so do my other two friends I went with who were also with me on my previous visit. Place still gets really packed when you go, and we waited a little before being seated. Many people started coming in some time while we were eating, and service is still fast and efficient though our server never gave us water while giving water to every other table that came in after us. That didn't affect my experience here, and I see myself coming back again to potentially try their noodle dishes or just get the combo dish again! read more

We got A Ma Chicken Rice via to-go since we were coming from Seattle and it they had earlier closing on Wednesdays. They close at 4PM weekdays and 9PM on weekends, which I think is quite inconvenient since their food is so good! We ordered the Crispy Chicken Rice and Kuy Teav w/ Soup on the side. These were phenomenal! Since we took the food to-go we decided to eat on one of tables in Redmond Town Center. It was so hot outside but the food was worth it! The Crispy Chicken Rice was juicy and paired well with the sauces provided. I don't know how you can fail at making a good Chicken Rice but A Ma does it pretty well! The Kuy Teav was super good too! Unlike other Kuy Teav's I've had this one had a pretty strong seafood/ shrimp broth and it was so comforting. We are going to try and eat in next time because I would like to try the food with some of the other condiments that are at the tables. read more

Really good chicken and rice! Came here on Friday around 7 and waited 20 min to be seated. Service is super fast, menu is limited, and I love that their condiments are on the table (ginger scallion, chili oil, pickled garlic) for you to serve yourself. I got the classic chicken while my partner got the combo (crispy/boiled). You get a lot of chicken with the meal and while the crispy one is good, I don't know that I could eat an entire order of it. Rice is super flavorful and love the presentation. Broth was ok, not super hot. Overall would come back again forsure! Skip the add ons, we got extra the pickled vegetables and didn't know the meal already came with it. The portion for the pickled veggies are also in a dipping sauce tray. read more
Went with some friends and tried thea ma dried noodles because someone told me it was delicious. And it was but i think it would've been better to try their chicken rice first as a standard. Not complaining though. The chicken was fantastic and it was almost like a dandan noodle situation was great too. And everything comes with the chicken broth which is so comforting. read more
If you want to get your Hainanese chicken fix, then look no further than A-Ma Chicken Rice! It's a small space, with limited seating, so be warned there may be a wait during prime time. Additionally, the menu is short and sweet - just about 6 dishes were offered. We came just for the Hainanese Chicken Rice dish, initially I ordered it crispy, and my hubby ordered the combo. The rice is flavored with the Hainanese aromatics (garlic, ginger, broth) and the crispy chicken is crispy, breaded lightly, and still juicy. The steamed chicken is cooked to perfection and moist. Honestly, I should have ordered the steamed chicken (which I did next time), I found it more flavorful and tasty. There are condiments on the table and you can add flavor as you wish - they also add these when you order take out. We also noticed that a lot of customers were ordering the noodle dishes - it's on our list for our next visit! read more

Free street parking, no wait for early dinner on a Saturday, and food came out quick after ordering. The QR code for ordering didn't work at our first table for some reason, so we just switched tables. But overall quick and easy ordering and service. Classic chicken rice: super tender chicken, tasty rice, and amazing broth. I could drink A LOT of this broth. The pickled veg was nice in between bites and each sauce was very different. I preferred a little of the spicy fish sauce one with the ginger that's provided at the table. I ate a lot of the ginger scallion oil. Eek, it's just so yummy! A ma dried noodles: WOW this dish packs the flavor. This was really tasty, porky, slightly spicy, and the crispy chicken on top gives great texture. Highly recommend this dish. Also beware, you get oily lips after eating this one. I would get these two dishes again! Having a mix of steamed chicken and crispy chicken and having the variety of sauces to dip your chicken in is a huge plus! read more
Casual and quick as you order via your phone from a QR code. The menu is simple with options for poached, crispy, or combo chicken and rice. All chicken plates come with some pickles, a light broth that might've healed me, and a sweet and a spicy sauce. I also love that the table is stocked with various condiments to dress up your chicken dishes. I especially loved the ginger scallion oil and pickle garlic to help work as a palate cleanser. My visits have been limited to pick-up orders for the chicken and rice, but I finally was able to have a sit-down and try the Phnom Penh Kuy Teav noodles. It's very hard to find them in restaurants because there just aren't many Cambodian restaurants around. Unfortunately, their's didn't hit the spot for me. It was missing something that makes Phnom Penh noodles different from other ethnic noodle soup. I've enjoyed the one over in White Center at Apsara Palace and the OG Cambodian restaurant Phnom Penh Noodle house in the CID. When I shared my experience with others who highly recommended the noodles, they said I probably had an off day there. Anyway, the chicken rice and pretty amazing though. Love the sauces and side pickled veggies as well. For now, I will just stick to that. read more

Hands down the BEST chicken and rice restaurant in Washington. I crave this place all the time. Not pictured are the crispy chicken and classic rice dish, my husband and I usually order both and split them. The sauces are amazing and complement the chicken perfectly, and the rice is super flavorful on its own. We also tried the dry-style Phnom Penh noodles (Kit Teav Kouk) and pork bone broth, both were so good. Service is quick, food is consistent, and honestly, I just hope they open more locations in the future! read more

Restaurant is popular so there is a waitlist. They use the yelp waitlist stand. Easy to use and they text or call you if you're next. Everyone needs to be present before siting. My entire party wasn't there yet but the owner was very accommodating to my party being late and said to let him know when everyone was here and he can remember to add us back in line. Combo chicken rice is a solid choice to try 2 styles of chicken. I got the crispy chicken and it was so deliciously battered and fried. Portions were great and so many sauce and topping choices! I loved it all. Water cups are good sizes. No complains. Definitely recommend a group of 2-4 to come! Ordering is by table QR code. Love the app since everyone can order on their phones and send out orders at different times as well as choose to sneakily pay for everyone at the table at any time. Food comes out quick! Fast service due to limited menu of just Hainan Chicken. The two types of chicken are both delicious, try both with the combo meal! The pork bone with broth is also very flavorful and a very good value for only $7. Tables are small and the resturant is busy, get ready to squish in as a party of 5. If only a ma wasn't so far!! I got the original while my husband got the crispy chicken; the rice was perfectly seasoned and chicken was so tender and moist ... perfectly cooked. Even though simple, everything about the meal was great. It tasted so comforting and homey. Gotta add the ginger lemongrass seasoning they have on the side. read more
The food is sooo so delicious!! The combo chicken is absolutely my fav. The fried chicken is crispy, the normal chicken was tender and juicy. Topping it off with ginger scallion oil or the sauces makes the dish so flavorful. The soup is hearty. The wait times here can get pretty lengthy. I've been here a couple of times and the wait seemed like a hit or miss, but it can be around an hour or longer wait :/ Worth the wait though! Once you're seated, the service is pretty fast. The interior is a little crowded. Not for big parties. But even with a party of two, we were seated near the entrance and the people waiting for a seat were standing right behind me, which is not that comfortable. read more
I'm so glad my family told me about this place. They brought back to go boxes of the combo chicken rice. The classic chicken was so juicy, tender, and soft! It is the closest "Hainanese chicken" I have had since visiting Singapore Hawker stands. It isn't a long wait, but they are pretty quick with serving. The ambiance is family style. Even though the combo chicken to go was given to us an hour later the crispy chicken was still decently crispy. We heard that if you eat it right away there it is even better. Next time we visit we can't wait to try it in person while it is still hot. The sauces here are to die for. I dipped the red chili fish sauce like sauce with the classic chicken while the brown sauce I dipped with the crispy chicken. It was so addicting! read more
I've visited twice and tried the combo chicken rice, crispy chicken, and the Thai tea. I personally like the crispy chicken the most. The Thai tea is great and very flavorful, and it is not overwhelmingly sweet. I liked the orange sauce more than the dark brown one. The crispy chicken was good and I can definitely see myself becoming a regular. read more
I finally made a trip up north to try A Ma chicken and rice. I love all styles of chicken and rice from all different Asian food cuisines. So, I was very excited ro finally try the chicken and rice here. I ordered the combo half fried and half poached over their flavored rice and salad that came with a side of soup, pickled veggies and some dipping sauces. The chicken and rice combo is a very big portion that could probably be divided into 2 servings. But it was so good that I finished the entire dish. My favorite was the poached chicken. The fried chicken was a bit dry. Food also came out super fast. We sat down and ordered by scanning the QR code on the table and within 10 minutes our food came. The seating tables are really close to one another and it did feel crammed. So I'd probably order take out next time. read more
A small and cozy restaurant with a very limited menu. Not necessarily a bad thing. We tried the combo plate (fried and poached chicken with 2 sauces, rice and chicken broth soup) and the wet noodles with an assortment of meat. There were quite a bit of condiments on the table (hoisin, rooster sauce, and then 3 glass jars of chili paste, marinaded garlic cloves in vinegar, and some other green sauce which tasted like finely minced ginger and garlic). Years ago I visited Nong's in Portland OR where she only served poached chicken and rice. What stood out to me was the sauce. I had hoped to experience that at A Ma but it fell short. There were 2 sauces: one looked like a sweet chili sauce but had fish sauce in it. The other darker sauce my daughter commented was like a plum sauce base. The pork noodle soup was very reminiscent of a pho with thin rice noodles and meatball, liver, shrimp and maybe brisket. But all of the meat was really tough. They served it with bean sprouts, jalapeños and lime wedges. The combo chicken was decent but nothing terribly memorable. I liked the rice and the pickled vegetables. Both preparations of the chicken weren't bad, but they weren't great either (quite bland) as I think the idea is to dip it in the sauces. Overall I'm glad I tried it but I don't think I need to try it again. The food was just average in taste and quality. read more
Simple ingredients, well done. Natural flavors, combined. The rice is seasoned with chicken broth and the boiled chicken is nice and tender. It's a great balance with the fried chicken which has a unique batter. The sauces provided are great at adding a unique taste to each bite and there are extra condiments at the table such as sriracha and pickled marinated green garlic. This restaurant is incredibly popular therefore very busy during weekday lunch hours. I'd recommend getting there early or expect to wait about 10-20 on the guest list depending on your party size. Ok, well that's the best fried chicken and rice I have ever had! We went on a Friday night expecting that we would need to join the waitlist on Yelp, but we were able to walk right in and get a table. We ordered online from the table and paid online too and food came out quickly. If you are around Redmond Town Center, you should definitely be going here! read more
There is quite a lack of Cambodian owned restaurants in the greater Seattle area/East side so it makes me so happy to see when a restaurant of my culture's cuisine thriving. The menu is nice and short so you already know to expect something that tastes great. The kuy teav noodle soup was nice and light. Similar to how my mom used to make it :) I also tried a bit of the chicken rice, both classic and crispy. My favorite part was the chili sauce that came with it. Everything was very tasty and I'm definitely wanting to come back for more. The restaurant itself is pretty small. During peak times, you can easily expect to see at least 20 parties on the waiting list. So it is nice to take advantage of Yelp waitlist. Once you're seated, it is mainly self service. Ordering with a QR code on your phone, as well as paying the bill when you're done. read more

Admittedly I'm not a huge Hainanese chicken fan, but I would come back here 10/10 times for their Crispy Chicken and chicken fat-infused rice. It's wild how well they do it. Both accompanying ginger sauce and sweet chili sauce are perfect to dip in for an extra flavor kick. Their A Ma Dried noodles are just ok, but pales compared to their chicken dishes. The soup broth is very light and provides a refreshing contrast to their heavy flavors; pretty underrated. I've dined in and done plenty of take out orders and the wait times are minimal. No wait for weekday lunch, but there was a 30 min wait for weekend dinner. The food was prepared quickly. Scan QR code on the table to order. There's an extra 3% credit card surcharge that isn't included in the menu prices. Got the Classic Chicken Rice set for $16.50. The chicken was tender, and there was a decent amount of chicken, but it could use a little more seasoning. The rice was flavorful because it was cooked in chicken broth, but it was also a bit clumpy and fairly greasy. The set came with pickled vegetables, two sauces, and a chicken broth/soup on the side. We decided to visit A Ma Chicken Rice for a weekday lunch right when the opened. We arrived just a couple of minutes after 11 and somehow there were already 3 tables occupied! We weren't entirely sure how the order process works, so we sat down at the table and pulled up the QR code ordering system before the waitress came over and took our order in person. I guess both ways are fine with them. When there's only 7 main items on the menu, it has to be good. We ended up ordering one rice dish and one noodle dish. Much like hawker stalls in SE Asia, the food seems like it's all precooked in the morning and all they have to do during service is assemble the plates. It's almost like fast food, so it takes 5 minutes or less to come out. Combo Chicken Rice ($21) - Starting with the sides: firstly, there's a quick pickled mix of cabbage and thinly sliced cucumber. It's on the sweet side, but is also tangy and gives plenty of crunch. Next to that are two dipping sauce. The first seems like a mixture of sriracha, fish sauce and aromatics, leaning more heavily towards the ginger. It first starts with a heavily fish saucy flavors, then a mild spiciness starts to build. There's another sauce next door that seems to be a hoisin sauce mixed with similar aromatics, very savory, salty, and gingery. To the right of that is a bowl of broth. The menu calls it a "light broth." While it's certainly lighter in color, the flavor is a distinctively heavy umami, but not exceptionally salty. It's like a light vegetable broth, possibly enhanced with chicken powder, with a heaping spoonful of msg crystals mixed in. It's one of the most savory things I've eaten recently, albeit not especially chicken-forward in flavor. Onto the main plate, where there's firstly a light salad of mixed greens with thick cut cucumber. It's a refreshing side for what comes next: a mound of some of the best rice and chicken one could ask for. The combo comes with both types of chicken. The crispy is the lesser of the two. It's fried in a lightly crisp batter which seems to be rice flour based. The chicken meat is pounded flat in some areas, but still has thickness in others, resulting in a somewhat uneven fry. It's dry in general, but the flat portions are especially tough to chew. If I had ordered solely the fried chicken, I would have been underwhelmed. The poached chicken, on the other hand, is literally perfect. It's moist, succulent, juicy, tender, silky smooth, with no hint of dry or tough meat. The skin is excellently rendered, making it gelatinous, slippery and bouncy, but not chewy at all. It's so chickeny in flavor. Words cannot describe how enamored I am with this chicken. And yet with how perfect the poached chicken is, it's not even the best item on the plate! The rice, glistening and shimmering with chicken fat, has the perfect sticky, bitey, yet soft, fatty, yet not oily, mouthfeel. Flavorwise, it's fragrant and lightly aromatic with garlic and ginger. It's one of the most rich, yet not heavy, rice dishes that I've had in a while. Based on the somewhat mediocrity of the crispy chicken, the classic chicken set is where it's at. The poached chicken/chicken rice is honestly better than any Hainanese Chicken Rice I've eaten, including in Singapore and Hong Kong (although, as a disclaimer, I don't have that many under my belt to begin with). (5/5) Kuy Teav ($19) - I can't say I've had this dish before. It's really reminiscent of pho, but with a lighter broth base and different meats on top. The rice noodles are cooked perfectly, firm and bouncy, albeit served in a bit of an enmeshed mess at the bottom of the bowl, necessitating the use of a chopstick in each hand to untangle. There's plenty of meat placed on top - enough so that the noodles can't be seen through it. It's a creative mix of beefy and bouncy meat balls, sweet and tender shrimp, thinly sliced fatty pork, small balls of ground pork, pasty, gritty, and irony pork liver, and chewy pork heart. Lots of different textures and flavors to chew through. The broth is salty and somewhat savory, although not nearly as concentrated umami as the side broth that comes with the rice dishes. I'd say it's a bit more vegetable-forward vs. meaty and doesn't really have the rich taste of roasted chicken or pork bones. Still plenty savory and a joy to sip on! On the side, the noodles come with a plate of fresh bean sprouts, jalapenos, and a lime wedge. Interestingly, they cut the bean sprouts into more manageable sections to eat instead of leaving them whole. This does make it a bit harder to transfer them to the broth though! (5/5) A Ma Chicken Rice does get crowded as the day goes on. We walked past the shop again at around 12:30 and there were a couple of people waiting outside for seats. The haianese chicken is well cooked and tender here and I tried both crispy and poached. The soup was also flavourful and appetizing. I took away a star because of how oily the rice is, which you might notice as you finish the meal. Portion sizes are great and it comes with sauces on the side. Such a tasty casual spot for Hainan chicken in Redmond! It's a small restaurant, so it was hard to maneuver through. It's also self-service, where you grab a seat and order/pay through the QR code on the table. The menu's short and sweet since as they specialize in the few dishes. We tried the two popular options - the classic and the combo chicken rice set (which includes both the classic and crispy chicken). Service was quick but we did have a 30 min wait since we got there right at lunch time. Classic Chicken Rice. I would definitely order this dish again. The chicken was super tender and lightly seasoned. Together, with the sauces, rice, and paired with a flavorful broth, this made for a fantastic and filling meal. Kuy Teav (a Cambodian noodle soup that was slightly sweeter than pho). This pork broth was lightly flavored, translucent and slightly iridescent with hints of oil and flavor on top. Absolutely delectable and abundant pork pieces with the perfect texture. Lithe rice noodles, bean sprouts, and a squeeze of lime rounded off the dish. This is now one my new favorite restaurants in Redmond and can't wait to come back. I arrived on Saturday at lunch time and the restaurant was packed. The vibe is casual, the restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. The food came very fast. I ordered the Combo chicken rice which comes with the regular and crispy chicken, soup, a side of salad, and sauces. There is also chilli oil, ginger and pickled garlic and sweet soy sauce on every table. The regular chicken was very tasty, the crispy chicken was crunch and not dry. The portion size is quite good, my group all ended up with leftovers. The sauces on the side go so well with the chicken, our group's favorite was the sweet soy sauce and ginger. There is minimal service, you order on the website from a QR code and pay at the desk at the back of the restaurant. Overall, the food was great and I have no complaints. read more
