The osso buco special at A Tí is absolutely unreal. The guajillo sauce is so unique and deeply flavorful, unlike anything I've had before -- rich, smoky, and perfectly balanced. The rice is incredible, honestly one of the best sides I've had in a long time. The tortillas deserve their own shoutout -- hands down some of the best I've ever had. Warm, pillowy, and clearly made with care. And the beef tacos... I'm not exaggerating when I say they are my favorite in the world. Truly next level. Vibey modern Mexican restaurant serving up unique dishes in a Modern Echo Park space. Located in an outdoor strip mall with a tiny parking lot, parking is rather rough here. Below is what we tried: Margaritas - 4 Stars. Quite tasty, the perfect cocktail to pair with this meal. Duck Mole - 4 1/2 stars. Favorite dish of the night. The duck was rich and tender and was complimented perfectly with the savory mole. Scallop Aguachile - 3 1/2 stars. This was quite forgettable to me, and prefer an aguachile with shrimp. Chips & Guac - 4 stars. The Guac was delicious, the chips were just fine. Tacos Al Pastor - 4 1/2 stars. These were delicious and the perfect bite. Tuna Tostada - 4 stars. I've been wanting to try out this spot when I saw that they had won the LA Taco madness. When I tried their tacos, it did not disappoint. These are some of the best tacos I've ever had. Their aguachile was also good and had a good kick. Their crispy duck plate was also delicious. Just wished there was more mole. Newer spot in LA, and close to where I live. The menu sounded interesting so decided to try it out. Made a reservation but there were seats available for people who wanted to walk in, so don't overly worry if you don't have a reservation at this point Start with cocktails. It's not a full bar, per say, as they didn't have juices for many cocktails, so just stick with what if on the menu. We tried the Plum Paloma and the Margarita. The paloma was decent, could have been a little more plum forward since it is the first word in the name, but still had some flavor noted. The Margarita used a yuzushu citrus which was nice but didn't really distinguish itself from a regular material too much. For appetizers, we had the kanpachi tostada which was phenomenal. So many good things going on with the crisp blue tortilla and the softener of the avocado. Could have ate three or four of those. We also had the scallop aguachille which has a nice spice to pair with the soft scallop and citrus yuzu. It's a nice bite as well For entrees we grabbed a couple al pastor tacos, issues with pineapple, as it should be, and the crispy duck mole. The tacos were forgotten, and made in the street tech fashion, but very expensive for what it was. The duck mole came with a side of tortillas. The duck was cooked perfectly and didn't have that overly fatty feeling you get with many duck presentations. The mole was exceptional and pries with the line crema, put it all together in one bite, and it is magic in your mouth. Overall, really nice newer restaurant in Echo Park serving up some yummy Latin/Asian fare. Prices can be a little more expensive for some items, but, if you go, and they have the kanpachi tostada, definitely get that and the duck mole. You'll be more than happy you did! read more

Definitely been loving the Mexican restaurants that have been representing. A Ti is pretty damn good. It's in a quiet, intimate and dark location. The tables / seats are small for for taller people this might be a thing. It's aight though. It's still very cute. Our server was very nice and attentive. Now the food. Started off with a Michelada. It was aight. Compared to a lot of micheladas I've had in the past. This wasn't bad but wasn't hit mode squad. Chicharron w Ranch Dust. This is a pass for me. The chicarrones are not warm and can't really tell if they came from a decent snack company or made in house. The ranch dust was barely present. These were meh. Tuna Tostada - Bomb. I enjoyed how the tuna was not cold as it went well with the other ingredients. Olive oil and a crema that was like a cream cheese. Very light and tasty. Striped Bass Tacos - They was good. Nothing really stood out here. Execution and flavors were good. Fish tasted fresh and a good bite. Just nothing to rave about here. Duck Mole - This was amazing. I only enjoy a very few moles out there and this one was really unique and different. The duck was falling apart and the marinated sebolla y crema was perfect additions to the sweet but deep mole flavor. Sheeps Neck Birria - Really good. Very rich here. The birria jugo was on the thicker side and to me didnt impose its flavors into the meat. The meat however was falling apart. Very succulent n juicy. This was a huge portion too. You could easily feed 3-4 people. This came with some quesi-tortilla / cheese tortillas. Putting the birria within these bad boys and adding in some of the consome made for a really good bite. But buyer beware it's rich and you definitely catching the itis after this meal. I'm hesitant to go in for birria when its chivo or ovejas. But this was not gamey at all. Would I be back?? I really wanted to love this place. The reviews were glowing, and it had been on my "must-try" list for a while. Unfortunately, it ended up being a "once in a lifetime" experience. The good: the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the space is minimal but lovely. The regular margaritas were excellent--but here's the catch: when the ice takes up most of the glass, don't expect much of a buzz. We started with chips and guacamole, which were great, but when I asked for salsa, the bartender said they "save" it for the beef tacos. I've never been to a Mexican restaurant that didn't serve salsa with chips--it felt odd. The tuna tostada came highly recommended, so I asked if it was shareable. Technically yes--if you only want three bites each. Delicious, but at three bucks a bite, it should be. The fish tacos were mushy and bland, and the crispy beef tacos were overloaded with gummy shredded cheddar cheese. Restaurant is definitely small but has a nice intimate vibe to it. Despite it being rather chilly at night, we enjoyed our table at the patio. The two heaters kept us nice and warm, and being nestled under the olive trees with the twinkling candles was very romantic (but note your neighboring patrons might be able to hear all your conversation). Dine in LA is what drew us to this establishment and we were glad we came. The highlight of the meal was the tuna tostada (definitely can have more tuna, couldn't taste the fish much but the the sauce was unique, one bite sweet and another bite spicy), duck confit (OMG, the best mole I had in my life, and the duck was cooked to perfection. Fresh off DineLA week, I'm putting in 2 reviews, and this is one of them. This was my second time coming to A Ti, and it was a much better experience than my first visit. We came as a group of three and all did the DineLA menu, which ended up being the perfect move. There were 9 dishes total across the menu (each person gets a starter, a taco, and a main), so by ordering the full menu, we basically did our own sampler of their core dishes. It was such a fun and efficient way to try most of what they offer at a really great price. Everything was really great. My personal favorites were the tuna tostada (the salsa on it was just wowwww), the Caesar salad, the Branzino, the mushroom taco, and the wagyu steak. I know the Duck Mole comes highly recommended, and it is good, but it just wasn't the standout for me compared to the other dishes we tried. Service was also excellent. Both our host and server were friendly and helpful, but the host especially stood out. Even though we had reservations, the group seated at our table before us took a long time to wrap up. He proactively apologized and offered us a round of drinks while we waited, which was such a thoughtful gesture and really set a positive tone for the meal. The only minor downsides is that it's Echo Park, so parking can be tough, though if you're lucky you might be able to snag a spot in their small lot. We took a bunch, and ended up ordering the tuna tostada, all of the tacos, the prawns, and the duck mole. 5/5 -there were favorite dishes but not a single miss. First, the practical stuff. Easy parking in echo park? Count me in! Small private lot directly in front of the restaurant. Service was efficient and friendly. The server anticipated our needs (fresh plates, more tortillas? Etc). Our server also took the time to make recommendations and walk us through his favorites. Now for the food: A Ti martini (5/5)--spirit forward yet refreshing Strawberry angua Fresca (5/5) -- non alcoholic cocktail that took traditional Mexican strawberry juice to another level. It felt very spirit forward despite not containing any alcohol. Fried quail (5/5) -- fried quail dressed with a refreshing array of herbs (think cilantro, dill) and a yogurty sauce. Our server rightly instructed us to drop our silverware and use our hands--he was right! Finger licking good haha. Sweet potato taco (5/5) - Japanese sweet potato taco was a nice spin on the Wes Avila style potato taco. This was sweet and savory at the same time and had a great texture. Crispy beef tacos (5/5)--classic La style crispy beef tacos (think chuys). The beef was tender shredded beef packed with flavor. Served with a side of salsa which improved the texture (softened the crunch) but didn't add much flavor. Duck confit mole (5/5) -there main event. This was the most substantial and flavorful dish we ordered. One crispy yet tender confit duck leg served in a wonderfully chocolately mole sauce and with a side of pickled onions (or were these beets?!) and crema. The dish came with the a side of fresh tortillas to make little tacos. I wish I could eat this dish every day it was so good. Dessert date tamale (5/5)--did we need dessert after everything we ordered? No. Am I glad we ordered anyways? Heck yes! Love the addition to my neighborhood. A Tí reminds me of Mexico City, it's cool without trying, chill, incredibly friendly folks, confident, laid back, and a delight for the senses. My husband and I had an early Friday dinner date and started with the the guacamole w chips. The guacamole was chunky and simply prepared balancing well with the tostadas (loved the limey rub on the raspadas/tostadas). We split a tuna tostada which had I believe chile ancho which gave it a layered smoky flavor that still allowed the freshness of the tuna to shine and blended seamlessly with the cream). We rounded out apps with the quail which was such a delight. It's like old school dry rub crunchy fried chicken. I kept smothering it in the sauce and the meat would easily fall off the bone. This dish was a highlight for sure and I see myself coming back for cravings. We ordered 2 of the tacos Al pastor. I'm not a big fan of Al pastor because it is rarely done well. Here the cuts of meat were large enough to be coated in the seasoning and still retain juiciness. It was actually spicy so the fresh chunks of pineapple were a welcome combination so you could cook your mouth to taste the crema and exploding flavors. So dang delicious. The tortilla is hecha a mano which just elevates and adds the respect this taco needs to deliver a knockout flavor. We shared the duck mole (the dish that drew me in). The mole was light, complex, and coated the duck (which was cooked beautifully) perfectly so you could drop it into the warm handmade tortillas and eat it as a taco. The last time I had duck mole that left me dreaming of it was in Mexico City. All around a delight of flavors. We had a cocktail but switched to the sippable Agua de Sol Mezcal. My husband ordered the date tamal and I had the dark chocolate ganache/mousse w the sea salt and olive oil. I'm not a fan of sweet tamales in general but I commend the creativity of their twist. None of those are things I'd typically go for, so I definitely should've checked the menu beforehand. That said, I'm not a picky eater--I just found the options limited if you're not into more adventurous proteins. The portions are described as family-style, but they were on the smaller side. You will be the judge. For dinner, I ordered Tuna Tostada, Crispy Duck Mole, Fish Taco, Scallop Aguachile and dessert. I enjoyed everything. The only thing I wished it was a bit better was the Tuna Tostada. It was good, but I felt like it was missing something. I didn't taste the tuna since all I tasted was the oil. The reviews and small hype were better than the dinner I had. First, there are a few parking spots in the lot if you are lucky. If you are even luckier, maybe you can find a spot on Sunset. Parking on Sunset on a Saturday night is one of the most impossible things to accomplish. It's like praying to all the gods and entering the fifth circle of hell to find a spot somewhat close to where you're going. If you can get a parking spot on a weekend night, kudos to you. I made a reservation and was promptly seated. The dining room is small and there's an awkwardly placed two-seater that blocks everyone from walking. We asked to sit at the bar which was granted. The cocktails were great and the bartender was a true hustler. Sadly, the 3 stars is for the food quality. Tuna tostada: great salsa macha! Tuna was buttery. Fried quail: fry on this was nice and crunchy; the aioli left much to be desired. This needed better spices and sauce. The meat was a bit overcooked. Shrimp: these were grilled with hardly any sauce or flavor. It just tasted like grilled salty prawns. This desperately needed a sauce. These were overcooked slightly as well. Duck mole: I came to this restaurant specifically since I was craving this dish. The duck skin was crispy. The mole was flavorful and beautifully complex. I wish they gave more mole. I expect more out of a hyped Echo Park restaurant. Two of the dishes were good but the others had quality and recipe issues. I hope they can rework some of the dishes for better flavors and audit their operations for the overcooked meat. read more

Food is king. To have a successful restaurant you need ambiance, good service, and consistency. But none of that matters if the food isn't good. A Ti is a top notch Mexican location with it all, and above all, incredible food that leaves you wanting more. The chef and owner Andrew brings great technique, high class seasoning, and a his journey to his dished that you taste with every bite. Nothing highlights that like the crunchy taco that is inspired by Tito's tacos. I was lucky enough to spend some time talking to Andrew while I was there. It was right out of a Netflix documentary. I was excited to finally this place! We live nearby and it's been on my list. The Tuna Tostada ($18) was the highlight--fresh and flavorful. The Crispy Duck Mole ($27) was also surprisingly good (and I'm not usually a duck fan), though it needed more mole for the tortillas. The Scallop Aguachile ($22) was underwhelming, and the Caesar with boquerones ($30) was soggy and not worth the price. My Margarita ($14) was very watered down with too much ice. I was also disappointed that tacos I'd seen on Yelp--like al pastor--weren't available. Been following Chef Andrew for years at his various pop ups and his food just gets better and better!! You can really feel and taste his love for LA poured into every dish. The combination of flavors and textures are unreal. My go-to's at A Ti are always the duck mole, tuna tostada, Al pastor tacos, crispy beef tacos, and sweet potato tacos. But basically everything on the menu is superb. The yuzu inspired margarita is also delicious! I don't usually revisit restaurants but I literally keep coming back and bringing new friends because it's THAT good. There's a reason it's getting such great reviews in the food world, too. I even decided to do my birthday dinner with 8 of my closest friends and they were so accommodating with a little set menu that made everything super easy. I had the best time!
