I was super excited to bring my husband here for his birthday. I made reservations back in early February for dinner on 4/20. We were seated at a lovely table on the patio, by the entrance to the indoor dining area. I was somewhat disappointed that was our table as I was concerned that there would be a lot of traffic in and out. There was, but it can't be helped as that's the only way for the servers and guests to come and go. To add to the experience, there's a very noisy step that sounds horrible as everyone steps on it. Also, our table was very close to the host stand which was manned by a couple of girls. The employees congregated there and we heard all about a surgery someone was having, a birthday and graduation of one of the girls, her time off plans and her justification for taking the time and potentially leaving the business short staffed. They were so loud and distracting I had difficulty hearing my husband over their conversations. Our server, Britney took excellent care of us. She had great recommendations for apps, wine and dinner. Her service was fantastic. After paying the bill, I mentioned to the hostess, who had just won a bet with her manager, the prize being a Michael Kors item, that the experience was not what it could have been for those listed reasons. She then mentioned my comments to her manager and the way she did so was meant to shame me. Clearly she doesn't understand that when you're paying for fine dining the experience is part of it. I think this is the best Italian food we have had outside of Italy. Yes, you need reservations. Yes, this is a fine dining restaurant and is on the expensive side but you absolutely get what you pay for. I do not understand these other reviews that speak poorly of the service because the staff was wonderful. Any fine dining experience is going to take time so you can enjoy each course. Horrible booking. They use google assistant and then you don't know until they open at 3pm if your reservation was accepted. Today was my family's last day in town and my niece who just told use she was pregnant wanted to try the cheese wheel table side pasta. They leave in the morning to fly back home. This place is amazing! Definitely go try it! We got the Cacio E' Pepe, the pasta in the cheese wheel, for the experience. It was so good and fun to watch. Bear with me, I will be be very honest but very though on my review but for a good reason. First, this was our second time here, the first time being a few days after their grand opening and we were impressed then, so we came back. This time our expectations were to match the first time experience, but it fell short. We got there a few minutes early and were sat right away, but were told that they didn't have enough menus. We had been waiting for menus for about 20 minutes and got a call asking if we were going to arrive late or if we wanted to cancel! My wife called back to let the know we were already sitting at the restaurant. After about 15 mins the waiter realized that we didn't have menus and went to get some. We were not in any hurry but it is frustrating to wait over a half hour just to a drink. Bad start, and then we saw the menu which changed and included new dishes, many of which had the MKT for pricing and I was surprised to see steak dishes in that selection. No problem, except that my son asked for the Beef Wellington and that came to a whopping $98! For perspective, my wife and I were at Vegas two months ago and I had this dish at HK for $72 and then at the Paris restaurant for $74. To me, this means that if you're selling $100 dishes you are now competing with big names so they should be reviewed at a different level. The filet in the Wellington was good, but I still don't understand why not to use a fix price; I guess the filet market fluctuates quite a bit? The pastry in the Wellington was not crispy and was kind of whitish as you can see in the picture. On top of that, they pour two sauces on top which just makes the pastry soggy and completely defeats the purpose. I think that a fair price for this dish is no more than $60 on a good day. We also had two pastas and they were just not great. My wife even said that the tomato sauce tasted store bought. If it's of any help, I would recommend to go back to the original concept and to do it right like when the restaurant started. read more

Excellent service. My boyfriend's steak was cooked perfectly and was prepared by the chef himself which was a nice touch. I ordered the Acqua Di Mare, which is supposed to be the specialty dish of the restaurant. It was a little cold and bland, but after adding some salt it was quite good. Beyond tableside cooking, service is extremely hands on with multiple personal touches to each dish over the course of the meal. Ambiance is peaceful and intimate - I felt transported to the Mediterranean the moment I walked in. Service was friendly and efficient without being intrusive. The owner's passion for his food really shines through in every course. We ordered pork belly, lobster bisque, steak Diane/Nikola, carbonara, and crepe - impossible to decide on a favorite as all of the dishes were next level. I had such I hopes for this place, I took my sister here for her birthday, it started of well. It's a small quaint place that gives a nice European feel. Sadly from there forward it would snow ball. Let's start off with the fact that there was about 10+ flys that would NON STOP FLY AROUND OUR FACES AND FOOD . We started off with the bursts appetizer which was good had nice flavor . Sadly we had a little black hair about half way through so we stopped and waited . We then .... Finally got to order our main meal. We ordered a schnitzel dish , the Wellington and the oh so talked about cheese wheel. Upon arrival everything looked great, minus the flys... they started the cheese wheel pasta and it was a wonderful presentation, but the actual flavor was awful we didn't even finish . It was luke warm at best and tasted SOOO HEAVY in alcohol. I'm unsure if that's how it's suppose to taste or if the preparer just did an awful job. We each had one bite and couldn't tolerate the rest . Then the Wellington came out which I do have say was great . Zero complaint on that. The flavor had nice depth and it was cooked to perfection. The schnitzel was nothing to brag about it but it was good, again nothing spectacular though. To say the least we spent about $400 after drinks and can safely say we checked it off the list and would gladly spend our money else where. This broke my heart as I had such high expectations for this place . My sister said the same thing, she stopped recommending it to people to try since we actually got to experience it. Very nice music, great outdoor seating, an attentive staff, and the chef comes out to cook the flambe dishes at your table. The chef frequently came out to ask how we were enjoying his meals. Truly a foodie restaurant with Greek style seafood, Italian pasta, and French meats and soups. The lobster bisque which we both had was the best I have ever tasted, very delicately balanced. The Lobster di Mare was cooked at the table and I have never had a lobster so perfectly cooked. My wife had the Steak Nicoli which was an incredible cut of Argentinean meat. This place is a hidden gem! When we want an actual nice night out with great quality food - this is our go to place. The service is incredible, the food is even better! What a wonderful Valentine's Day meal! The ambiance was lovely sitting outside under the outdoor heater listening to the Italian music. Our server was Rachel and she was down to earth and very friendly. She provided us with fantastic recommendations. I had a French martini and another mango cocktail and both were great. We had the branzino fish and truffle pasta which were outrageously delicious. For dessert we had the tiramisu. It is so nice to have such an elevated dining experience close to Chandler. Everything was A-MA-ZING!! Dined there last night for a date night. Very quaint restaurant in downtown Chandler that made you feel like you're in Italy. We started with two specialty cocktails- the French Martini and Tangueray Tin Negroni. Both were good. Our server, Rachel, not only provided outstanding service but also made a lot of good recommendations. She didn't rush us any gave us a lot of time to enjoy our food and drinks. We started with fried squid (aka calamari) which was excellent - choice of two sauces, both were good. We then shared the lobster bisque which was by far the BEST LOBSTER BISQUE I've ever had. Nice big pieces of lobster and the soup was so rich and creamy. For entrees we had the lobster ravioli and the Pocchetti Ala Nikola ( Rachel's favorite, named after the owner). It was fantastic!! I resisted the urge to eat it all so I could bring some home to enjoy today... and save room for dessert! For dessert we had the homemade Tiramisu. I'm a sucker for anything with "homemade" in the description. It's assembled table side which is kind of neat. I had read in another review that someone didn't like the lady fingers because they were still a little crisp. Personally I much prefer them that way as opposed to soggy ones so this dessert was for me! We go to a lot of high end restaurants all over the valley but this has to now be one of my favorites. Wait staff and chefs eating (or sneaking bites) in front of guests, in the viewable kitchen and behind the bar which is in the main small dining area. Bathrooms unkept. My husband and I had a strange evening here. I hope it was an anomaly because it was raining. They clearly had a full reservation list and had to rearrange the dining room to bring tables from the patio inside. We were sat in the corner next to one of the wine fridges, so I had to move my seat every time they wanted to get in there. They also have this rolling stone where they make some dished table side. While I'm sure it's lovely typically, they should have scratched using it considering how packed the tables were. The group next to us seemed pretty nervous every they brought a hot plate near them. The food and drinks were good but overpriced given the atmosphere. We shared the bruschetta, spaghetti carbonara and the steak Nicola. It was the right amount of food for us and the pasta is to die for. That's why people should come here - the pasta. We also were introduced to 3 different servers, and our final one was doing her best but clearly frazzled. We were right next to the kitchen window and could hear everything - all the drama. The atmosphere just kinda ruined the experience. Finally, I don't usually care about this but the owner was schmoozing the table next to us quite a bit and didn't even acknowledge us shoved into the corner right next to them. I was very shocked about the food experience given all the great reviews. I don't by any means intend to be a Debbie downer , this is just an honest review and my opinion does not matter just want to share our point of view. First , our waiter had another waitress help us when the place was empty , he just came and grabbed the bill. Not personable at all, and not to mention the waiting for an empty restaurant was not ok. Second, the steak we got looked like it was boiled , they brought out a table with burners as if they were going to finish cooking it but they just unwrapped the steak and put it on a plate. I made reservations for 2 at 8 and thought that showing up about 5 min early we could wait at the bar or by the host stand. Unfortunately the host informed us that we could wait outside or go to another bar for drinks, but she said it wouldn't take long. Still waiting outside with 100 degree weather is hot, maybe if they had misters or something by the front entrance to help out with that. So when we got seated the host asked if there was anything special about tonight and I said it was my girlfriends 30th birthday and she said happy birthday but that was the last time we heard of that. (Also when making a reservation online, they had a message box and I said it was for a birthday) Throughout the whole night there was no mention to our table about a birthday, but I did overheard the host tell our server "by the way table 4 has birthday." So I left it at that but late on the night ther server went up to the table next to us asked if it was any of their birthdays and they both said no. I will say this the Lobster Ravioli was outstanding and the cocktails were flavorful. The recommended table side tiramisu was the highlight of the evening with the hints of orange and creamy richness. But the Pork belly I felt missed its mark. Tonight, my wife took me to Acqua diMare for dinner to celebrate my 71st birthday. It was excellent! Our server di d a great job and paid very good attention to us. We started with the octopus which was super tender and by far the best octopus I have had to date. She had the arugula and strawberry salad which was also fresh and delicious. For our main courses, I had the Acqua Di mare seafood pasta. I was very tasty and filled with an array of seafood. My wife had the lobster pasta which was filled with lots of lobster meat and was also delicious. Finally the waitress asked what we wanted for dessert and we told her the canolis which she said were on the house because it was my birthday. I took my partner there for his birthday this past Saturday night. I reserve this table 2 1/2 months in advance and we drove 45 minutes to get there because he was really into the Parmesan pasta wheel we had seen on Instagram. The food was great, we had the octopus, oysters, lobster ravioli, the seafood pasta, and the parmesan wheel pasta. We had a couple of cocktails and a bottle of wine to share between 3 adults. On the reservation, and when we arrived, I made it clear it was for a birthday. While we were wrapping up, I had casually mentioned it again, because obviously I wanted to order dessert to make it special and the server was surprised because nobody had told him I guess. He said he would send out our dessert and another server brought it out and gave it to the table right next to us instead. I could tell my partner was disappointed because we all knew it was for us, and the wrong table got it. At that point he just wanted to leave he didn't want to stay any longer so we left and didn't say anything because we didn't want it to be weird. I gave 2 stars because the food was pretty good. The service is horrible! We did not have a reservation, but were given a table and told we needed to be done in 1.5 hours, no problem. However the service was so slow we rushed our order, and even our dessert order only to wait. Our drinks were never refilled, even water! From the smiles on everyone's faces and the positive responses, I'd say absolutely no one left disappointed. The available wines are superbly selected. With the help of our wonderful server, Kaci, we were able to easily find just the right wine for each course. My husband had the rack of lamb which was cooked to perfection and had a seasoning reminiscent of one of the most memorable Easter feasts of my childhood. The aroma and taste took me right back to that very special meal that I enjoyed so very long ago. But honestly, everything we had the pleasure of trying exceeded every expectation we could have imagined: the very fresh and homemade bread, the aromatic and flavorful lobster bisque, the perfectly grilled scallops, and finally, dessert. The desserts we tried were phenomenal! My husband had the strawberry crepes, and I experienced an ecstasy not often associated with food as I enjoyed bites of the absolute best tiramisu on this planet! We are looking forward to our next visit when we will bring a couple more people, so we can share the large tomahawk steak meant for at least two people.
