Sally Papa is no longer here next to the Big Catch. It's taken over by a new AYCE hot pot place, which opened recently. (Mini-So also moved over a bit, and Sephora replaces that old area.) There is a large parking lot, but it's shared by so many businesses, including Burlington. It gets crowded quick, so I'd recommend coming ~5 min early to get a spot. All That Shabu offers hand sanitizer at the entrance host table and around the buffet area. They also have gloves and napkins. Masks are required inside and when getting food at the buffet. The restrooms are in the way back. My first impression of All That Shabu wasn't great. They have a notebook for you to write down your name and number in the party. The girl at the register had like no role except to look pretty. The guy calling out names was short and rude. He would cross out a few names, so it made the wait time seem shorter than they quoted. If you checked with him after a while, you'd realize that he crossed out your name without actually calling it. He'd claim that he did. Everyone is literally waiting outside the building, so there's no way no one heard him. If I could change one thing, it would be this process. Perhaps they could look into the Yelp waitlist, like a program that can text people when tables are ready. When you get seated, you are offered choice of soup in your individual pot. You can adjust your own stove heat level. Then you can order 3 plates of meat at a time, but this is for your entire table. Best meat imo is the ribeye, offered at dinner and weekends only. You can see them cutting the meats, which was pretty neat. The rest of the food is self-served, including Pepsi fountain drinks. Notable items included shrimp, fish balls, tong ho, quail egg, bamboo, (blue?) crab, and lotus root. They had ramen noodles, but they did not have glass noodles. They had some side dishes like spicy cucumber and kimchi. There were hot foods like sesame red bean balls, fried chicken nuggets, chapjae (Korean glass noodle), fried rice, and orange chicken. They had a huge pot of white rice. The soft serve ice cream machine was down during my visit. Perhaps they could offer fruit, like orange slices. The sauce bar: sesame sauce and "ponze" were delicious, the spicy one was ok, and the wasabi ponze was interesting to try. For dinner they were obviously really busy. It was hard to find someone to refill soup or order more meat. Service, except that dude in the front, was otherwise good. Overall I enjoyed the meal. There was no sauce I did not like. 10/10. The Bad: Everything else. The service was awful. My friend and I were told to only old 3 meats at a time but we saw many other tables ordering more than 3. When we did order more than 3, they took 10+ minutes to get it out. Not only that, at one point the lady seem to have forgotten out order as she looked super confused and that was already 15min of waiting. So we asked another waitress and next thing you know our table had 9 meats of the same kind ALL AT ONCE. I now know where to go for my shabu shabu cravings. All that Shabu is fairly new because when I asked, server replied its only been 6 weeks. The restaurant is very clean and organized. Being a brand new restaurant, it is given. The interior is modern but kept very simple. I love that this place has so many options that other restaurants dont offer. For example, they got fountain drinks as well as green tea, black tea and lemon water all for self-serve. Salad bar has the most popular Korean food like Japchae, Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken as well as plain fried popcorn chicken, Kimchi and more. So for Shabu Shabu!! All I can say is that their meat is top quality. I have never seen such a high quality meat in AYCE Shabu Shabu restaurants. It does take time for you to get your meat because I believe they slice the meat upon every order. Thats probably why its fresh but kept high quality throughout your dining experience. My favorite meat was from the dinner option; Filet Mignon and Angus Choice Beef Chuck Flap. They both literally melted in my mouth. All other meat choices were beyond my expectation as well. I had Spicy Beef as my broth and I enjoyed it. Honestly, it wasnt spicy for me though it was very red. My mom had the bone broth and it was good too. Other choices are Orignal House, Miso and Vegetarian. You get 7 choices of meat for weekday lunch price $23.99 and it goes up to 11 choices for dinner & weekend for $29.99. Just for your information, after 3 PM, you will be charged dinner price. There are veggies and other nonmeat/seafood options available at the self serve area as well as the condiments including ponzu, peanut, sesame and more. Servers are generally nice and attentive but I want to say it depends on who you get. My first server was dry but my second server was friendly and quick. They will come and check to see if you need broth or meat refilled. Restroom is super clean, again, probably because this whole facility is new and I hope they keep it this way. Shabuya has dominated the AYCE Shabu scene in the 626 for some years now, but All That Shabu gives them a run for their money. At a similar price point, it comes down to quality of food, variety, and service. The meat quality was great, especially number 3, the marbling was even throughout. I believe they also have more meat options compared to Shabuya, and more beef heavy. Albeit I'm mainly there for the meat, I appreciated the side dishes, like fried chicken, japchae, and sesame ball. They also had ice cream (subpar, but it is AYCE after all so I'm not complaining) and a soft drink/tea station. Due to the restaurant being smaller than Shabuya, the meat seemed to come out more quickly when ordered, and the staff was very polite even through the hectic dinner rush. There was only a short 5 min wait for a party of 6 on a Sunday night. We were served immediately and had soups in our pots within a few minutes. Their menu says they have a 2 hour limit, but I'm not sure how strict they are with enforcing. They have 5 broth choices, but it seems like you can honestly mix and match their broths, since I did when I needed to add more soup. All the vegetables, seafood, carbs, sauces, Korean banchan, fountain drinks and soft serve ice cream are self service, but they do provide gloves at each station. Dinner/Weekend menu has 4 additional meats. I would say to order more meats when you're about halfway thru your first order bc they slice the meats as the orders come in, so sometimes it might take a little while. They bring out 1 tray of meat per person in your party. I personally liked #2, 3, and 9. I liked their Miso broth, but it did get to be a bit too salty after I cooked my veggies and meat so I added vegetable broth when refilling the soup. Next time I might try their Spicy Beef. My family and I have been here quite a few times with no issue, however, this time a greedy server was able to finesse a good $30-something dollars from us. Today 5 adults and one fourteen-month old baby dined in. Our server automatically charged gratuity, which is for parties of 6 or more. When asked about it, he replied "the baby ate, didn't she?" Mind you, we brought her own food from home and she snacked on a broccoli and some tofu from my soup. If you look on their menu, they don't start charging children until they are 4 years old. My go to for some great shabu! The space is very open and clean with plenty of seats. The place has gotten quite popular recently, though, so expect to wait during peak times. I love that they have a great selection of broths (that I recently found out you can mix and match!) and different meats. My personal favorite is a mix of the bone broth and miso. You can order up to three meats at a time. There is difference pricing for weekday lunch and dinner/weekends, and you get access to more premium meats for dinner/weekend prices. I personally don't know the difference between the meats once it starts cooking in the broth, though. Lol! Their topping bar has lots of different veggies, noodles, and even seafood to choose from. Lunch - $23.99 Dinner - $29.99 AYCE with self-serve salad bar and beverages The sauce choices were a huge miss for us minus the sesame and wasabi ponzu. The rest of the sauce had a weird aftertaste that dominated the entire palette. We loved how clean and attentive the servers were at this new location. Our favorite meats were #8 filet mignon, #9 signature beef ribeye, #10 beef chuck flap, #3 Angus Flat Iron Steak and #4 Angus Chuck Eye Steak. The only minor gripe was how the quality of meats started to diminish as you go through your next rounds. The first two rounds were perfectly thin slices that melted in your mouth. As soon as we got to round 3 and onward, the cuts were thicker, meat was frozen and wasn't light and melty as our first two initial rounds. This is where my -1 star comes into play. I hope they stay consistent with their quality of meats and don't fall into the same bad habit of Shabuya. Overall, great new addition to Alhambra. So the concept is you sit down, they cart in all your soup options then you order their meats. Afterwards you are free to explore the cold food, sauce, and hot food section. I like the individual soup pots. The jalapeño and wasabi ponzu sauce was good too. Now, my gripe is the paper thin meat you get. You literally can grab all the meat with one chopstick grab and eat it in one bite of course after it's cooked, but really it's so thinly cut. Maybe it's a way to hide the meat quality. As far as the cold items , we he best option I liked was the noodle section. The spinach noodles was my favorite. For dessert a pro tip. Fambam Dinnertime! This AYCE Shabu restaurant is ALL THAT plus a bag of chips! It has a big variety of everything, Lots of fresh veggies, seafood, seafood balls, quality meats, hot Korean appetizers, noodles, sauces and self serve sodas/teas & ice cream. After being seated, pick out your soup base for your individual pots. Choice from Original House, Miso, Vegetarian, Beef Bone and Spicy Beef. We chose House and Beef Bone and both were very good. I like grabbing extra flavor enhancers for the soup such as garlic, onions and shellfish! Then select your 3 meats at a time that they bring out to you. Brisket, Short Plate, Flat Iron Steak, Chuck Eye, Pork Belly, Pork Butt, Chicken Breast, Filet Mignon, Rib Eye, Beef Chuck Flap and Lamb Shoulder. We noticed that the meats are sliced super super thin, more than the usual thinness. This could be a good and bad thing. It cooks super fast (5-10 seconds) but also for the smaller slices, it shrinks and feels like crumbs. Don't let those pieces get lost in the soup! I had a big thick napa cabbage leaf as a floatation device for these thin small pieces and it worked perfectly! Our faves were definitely the Brisket, Filet Mignon (the itty bitty slices) and Rib Eye! Great quality and freshness too! Then we were off to the self serve bar for everything else! This was a large area and there are duplicate veggies and sauce stations so it's not all crowded at one spot. Lots of fresh veggies including napa, spinach, pumpkin, sprouts, baby corn, corn on the cob, lotus root, bamboo, mushrooms, black mushrooms (so crunchy!), onions, etc. Seafood included basa fish, shrimp, bay scallops, squid, salmon balls, lobster balls, crawfish, octopus, tempura, crab sticks, clams, mussels, etc. Korean banchan includes potato salad, kimchi, pickled radish, chap chae, fried chicken, fried rice, and sesame balls for dessert. Noodles include ramen, udon, and spinach noodles (my fave!) and dumplings. Sauce bar had 7 sauces and 6 add-ins. Sauces include SESAME (this had a strong taste to me), PEANUT (this was pretty good, not as thick as what you normally think of but similar to sesame goma sauce), PONZU (standard), ROOTY MUSTARD (spicy and good), PINE-CHILI (sweet tart spicy Pineapple sauce, this was my fave of the night and used this to pair with most of the food! Delicious!), WASABI PONZU (be careful how much you dip as they don't skimp on the wasabi lol), PERILLA WITH CILANTRO (this was interesting, I'm not a huge fan of cilantro but wanted to try it out, not bad flavor). Add-ins included garlic, radish, green onions, jalapeño, lemon slices and cilantro. I also saw another small area of bottled sauces but didn't get to investigate. Self serve drink station includes Pepsi products, lemon water, black and green teas. Ice cream station had vanilla, chocolate and swirl options. This is a newly opened establishment that serves Korean style ayce hot pot. I would say that this rivals shabuya. On the weekends, be prepared to wait for about an hour especially during peak times. They offer a variety of soups like miso, spicy bone broth, vegetarian and sauces like ponzu, sesame, and peanut. They also have green onions, garlic, radish condiments too. I tried half miso and half spicy bone broth. I tried a variety of the beef cuts but definitely go with the rib eye cut. It has the best amount of fat to beef ratio. That cut is only available during dinner or weekends only. The wagyu was ok but definitely had a lot more fat to meat ratio. I also tried the brisket and I felt like after trying the rib eye, brisket was just incomparable. Overall, the cuts of meat were above average. They also had a variety of seafood like fish, fish balls, crab, crawfish to add to your soup. They also have potato salad, japchae, kimchi, sweet sesame balls too. At $30, it also includes unlimited soft drinks including unsweetened matcha tea and soft serve ice cream so be sure to save room! Overall, this is a good option for ayce hot pot. I've worked and lived in the area since 2016 and I don't recall ever seeing this space occupied by any business prior. All That Shabu is a welcome addition! Came for their weekday lunch. We immediately were impressed by their set up. Huge, well lit + ventilated open space (once we left, we didn't smell like we stewed in hotpot broth for hours). We were allowed to sample all their broths before committing (You can even change your broth if you aren't happy with your initial selection so it's not a true commitment). The servers were friendly and attentive. I don't think we had to wave anyone down even once. We were constantly asked if we wanted more meat and someone stood by the self serving station to make sure every patron was wearing a mask and using disposable gloves. The selections were decent. It was too hectic for me but I was able to grab all the things I needed and headed back to the table. Overall, soups are bland, meat is good and you definitely need to grab sauces for some flavor. Came here at three different times: weekend dinner, weekday lunch and weekday dinner. It's slowly taking over as my #1 ayce hotpot spot in the area for the following reasons: 1) located inside a plaza with lots of parking spots 2) next to a lot of activities such as the movie theater, shopping areas and boba (more food!) 3) unlimited drinks 4) lots of hot Korean food selections, such as bulgogi, fried chicken pieces, japchae 5) good veggie and seafood selections 6) ice cream! 7) spacious and clean 8) I like their spicy beef bone broth The meat slices are similar to what you would get in other competitive restaurants. They also offer the premium meat during dinner and weekend prices. My family and I are fans of lamb (premium meat) so we prefer dining when it's available. Aside from that, everything else is the same during lunch and dinner. A tip is to arrive when they first open for lunch or early dinner time to avoid the crowd and to get better service. The meat turnaround time for us was significantly quicker than when we dined during peak hours. A note that they only let you order 3 plates per round. They also take reservations for big parties. I asked to mix two soups together to add more flavor. I recommend mixing together the spicy beef bone soup with miso soup. A1. They have a veggies, seafood, hot food, and fish balls bar which are all self serve. They also have unsweetened tea for drinks and ice cream for desserts. Servers were also very attentive. It's alright! Pretty good shabu buffet. 3.5* as restaurant 4* as a shabu restaurant in this 626 area. Meat cuts are extra shabu cut (very thinly sliced) compared to other spots. All meats we had were very high quality. Lamb wasn't gamey neither. The most off putting and what I would not recommend is the filet mignon because the texture comes awful the way it's prepared and cut. You do have 90 minutes, which was more than enough in our experience. As for getting meat... Sometimes it's easy to get meat, sometimes not so much (getting the attention of a server). Sauces are very Korean shabu spot expected. Wish they didn't put yuzu in wasabi soy already tbh. I liked their green tea. Tasted like refreshing water. Haha, perfect with the soup. I personally did not like the type of froyo they had... it's the watered down kind like Wendy's but I know people out there love their frostees. Notable things I appreciate from there is the bok choy menma baby corn and chinese/Taiwanese fish tofu. The seafood is just ehh, quality matches the price point expectations. Service was a mixed experience. Couple of good servers, one was a gen z server so didn't expect much in the first place, but man did he live up to the sad boi expectations. Coming to this gem in Alhambra for quite awhile now. Every time I come, I always get the consistent same level of great service and seated quickly. There are a lot of tables to seat small and larger parties. They have a decent size menu of meats you can choose from. The more premium meats are offered only on the evenings after 3pm and weekends. See the attached picture for updated menu prices. The buffet is good quality, and changed frequently when I was there to preserve freshness. There is a variety of vegetables, seafood, meatballs of different types, Korean specialties, and hot food. There is a flavorings buffet where you can customize your own sauces to your liking. There is a rice pot with a variety of flavorings and sauces to put in your rice. The soft drink bar has a variety of drinks and there is flavored waters and iced tea available. The tables have individual hot plates where your hot pot is placed to cook your food. There is a temperature control where you can regulate the temperature of your hotpot as needed. They also have a variety of beers and sake available to have with the hotpot. No cocktails are available. Order a drink, stock up with meats from the friendly servers, get some food from the buffet, and budget at least 1 hour to sit and enjoy the whole experience...best with a group of friends so you can chat and enjoy together. This is one of the few places that I have reviewed where I have consistently gotten the same high level of service. Highly recommended. The bathrooms are clean and refreshed frequently. read more

Woohoo! Yay! I love AYCE hotpot! All that Shabu has been my choice for celebratory meals for a few months now. All that Shabu is one of the better all you can eat hotpot's. The soup bases are okay. Chuck eye (# 4) and lamb (#11) are fantastic! Perfect amounts of fat to meat ratios that will always give you a juicy tender perfectly meaty mouthful. What makes it great is the vast array of vegetables, seafoods, hot pot yummies and sauces! A variety that makes the experience quite satisfying every time! The service is fast and very accommodating as well. You can order 3 meats at a time and can make another order almost immediately to get a good satisfying amount of meat without waiting too long in between orders! This is the go-to spot for me when I'm craving for a shabu fix. Coming here on weekdays is great but weekends can be very busy. It's located in a really convenient location which is also a blessing and a curse. Meat quality is good, it's not the best, but it's also not bad. It was more worth it when they had lower prices since they just recently increased the prices, but there still isn't any place close to here that I enjoyed more. The bar is cool and the sauces are alright, I've had better. But their bokchoy is awesome and it's a guilty pleasure of mine. Meats and bokchoy is the key to making me happy I guess. I usually just get the same plates over and over very quickly since I like to just eat the meats(and bokchoy). The service here is always fantastic for me, they get the meats out to me very quickly and since they see me eat all the plates right away, they overlook the 3 meat per table limit. 1 star off because on weekends it can get very busy randomly. Not having an online waitlist is a pain but what can you do about it. There is a parking lot thats free behind it. This was our third time here, and unfortunately, it might be our last. We chose to come during a quiet time after lunch and before dinner to avoid the crowds, knowing how busy this place can get. To keep it brief, it felt like the staff was disengaged, and it was difficult to get their attention for ordering meats (at one point, I did not see anyone on the floor, it was as if they were all hiding). While the service wasn't bad, it was definitely just the bare minimum. The food was also below average. It might just be me, but I find it ironic that the Filet Mignon cut is their worst one. Two main issues stood out: Since it was downtime, they didn't refill the salad and sides bar. What was leftover from lunch was all that was available, and I can confirm that nothing was restocked during my 90-minute visit. The second issue was that a server came right after the 90-minute mark to drop off our check without any interaction. It was a check-drop-off drive-by, if you will. While it may not seem significant, and I understand that our time was up, it added to the feeling of being rushed. Who doesn't like AYCE... Decent price with decent selections of food $35/person. However, I decided to give 3 stars because the services I received was not great at all. Our server seems grumpy and rush thru everything. The attitudes such as, "ready to order?" "What broth do you want?" "What meat you want?"... After first round of meat, the server never came back until I asked for the broth to be refilled. Then she just told someone else to do it. She never came pick up any empty plates. Then I guess by close to 90 mins, she didn't even bother to ask if we need anything and just drop the check to us. As I say, food was decent. Came around dinner time so had a long wait before the table was ready. The ribeye was the best one I want to say personally it was nice and tender. The broth for miso and spicy beef weren't that flavorful I want to say on its own. Usually when you go to these places they put a ton of seasoning in it so it can hold up with the meat and vegetables you put in. Had to add lots of meat and kimchi before it was a good enough broth I want to say. The parking situation is okay you just have to walk a good amount to get to the restaurant. Staff are really nice. At times you will have to flag them down but it was busy so it was expected. Price is about $30 per person for dinner. This place has a lot of sides like kimchi, Cucumber, and soy sauce garlic with radish and onions. Kimchi and cucumber were very good but the soy sauce garlic wasn't that good since it was a bit old. They do give you japchae and ice cream with the price which is good. This place didn't have any enoki mushrooms so it was a little disappointing. read more

Came here to try the newest ayce shabu shabu in SGV. I came here for lunch and the price was 23.99 which includes broth, meat from #1 thru #7, hot foods, seafood, veggies, sauce bar, drinks and ice cream. Besides the broth & meat everything else is self serve. Got seated at my table and the server asked what soup we would like. Made our choices and she pushes a cart with soup in plastic containers and proceeds to pour the soup tableside. Turns on the tabletop to heat up our soup. She then took our meat order and they allow 3 orders at a time. That's when we went to look at the selection of items since it's self serve. There's a decent selection of everything. I had the spicy beef broth and my friend had the miso. My spicy beef lacked flavor but the miso was great. When I refilled my broth I chose to add miso instead. They allow you to choose a different one if you want. You don't have to be stuck with the same one which was cool. Here's a quick run down. Meat quality was great here. Hot foods were ok. Veggies were fresh. Seafood was a bit mediocre. Sauces were good. Drinks were normal but I do like the fact they have both black and green unsweetened tea. Ice cream machine is a basic vanilla and chocolate one but pretty cool to have a lil dessert at the end. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It was clean, big and spacious. The servers were really attentive. Anytime we finished the meat they immediately cleared the plates. Broth refills were on point.
