I wasn't overly impressed with the food in Cape Cod. That is, until I tried Anejo! This was a great Mexican restaurant. Good food, good vibe. I definitely recommend it. Don't be turned away from the long wait time. They have a good system for the waitlist where they actually text you when it's getting close to your time to be seated. This enabled us to walk around and explore the area instead of being confined to a bench outside the door. There are a lot of options when it comes to the food. Really it was hard to make a choice, and we definitely ordered too much. I just can't seem to pass up Tableside Guacamole when it's offered. And wow, I'm happy I didn't - easily one of the best guacs I've tasted. If you're in Cape Cod, this is a must have. It's definitely different than the pub and sea food that seems to dominate the area. read more

In my quest for the "Perfect Fish Taco" I have scoured restaurants world-wide, ordering fish tacos at every restaurant I visited that was near a water source that had fish available. Sadly I was usually disappointed, even once in Maui at a restaurant that was "known" for their fish tacos. However, tonight I found the Holy Grail of fish tacos. Anejo's is more of a Mexican-Fusion restaurant in my opinion and I was awed by the "weird" combination of sweetness and pineapple on the calamari appetizer. But the flavors really "worked." Then the fish tacos came out, complete with a local cod, and it was spectacular. A perfectly flavored fish in a taco that had just the right amount of aioli and a slight "heat" at the end that was a perfect compliment. This place is a MUST VISIT if you're in Cape Cod. Ask for Nikki as your server also. She's amazing. Hands down a FIVE-STAR restaurant. I will definitely return the next time I'm in Hyannis. read more

Awesome spot for Mexican. Great atmosphere! The mojitos are great and they have lots of flavors of margaritas. Naturally flavored and not super sugary or syrupy. They bring over chips and salsa right away and the table side quac is great to order with it. Meals are a great size. I got the chicken tinga tacos and enjoyed them. My family arrived at the restaurant for a super early dinner and was seated outdoors really quickly. For appetizers, we had the fried plaintains, mussels, and flautas. I really liked the plantains - they were cooked perfectly and the sauces that accompanied them were really flavorful and complementary. My brother ordered the spicy mango margarita and my mom got a coconut margarita. The coconut one didn't really taste like coconut. I ordered the enchiladas hongos for my main course and the portion was very generous - I ended up eating the leftovers for two more meals. The dish itself was pretty good, but a bit more cheese than I was expecting. My mom and sister got the shrimp quesadillas, my dad got the pork carnitas adobo, and my brother got the arroz con pollo. Long wait, but very popular amongst the younger generation. I came here with a party of six a few weeks ago and our service wasn't very memorable and neither was the food really but the vibe is what this place is serving. As well as the drinks hence the name. I would come back especially to take advantage of the outside seating area. It looks kind of cozy, we sat in door but had I known there was seating outside I would've rather been out there. We ordered a bunch of everyone got their own plate instead of sharing style which is how I like to eat when I go out. The salad my mother in law got looked large enough, my shrimp tacos were ok, and Lobster enchiladas were also just ok. I probably will have some more drinks next time I come here opposed to the food. I have driven by Anejo on Main St Hyannis several times and thought it looked too small to secure a table. I had ZERO idea how vast the restaurant's space is inside and out back under the gigantic beech tree. I'm so glad I gave it a shot, this place was fantastic! I honestly can't think of another time in my life that I returned to a restaurant two days in a row, but this menu (and drink menu!) was soo good that we did just that! The blood orange skinny margarita that I had with dinner was amazing / it was worth the visit alone, but the food was delicious too. I'm no stranger to Mexican restaurants but I have never had refried beans that were incredibly flavorful like these were. The verde enchiladas were great, but the honga (spinach, mushroom, corn) enchiladas were amazing. I will be back every trip to the Cape! Can't believe I waited so long to try it. New to Hyannis. Featured quite a variety of margaritas and different tequilas. We ordered the guacamole, which was very good. The menu has quite a variety of different dishes. My friend and I shared a meal of three different tacos. They were wonderful. This should definitely be a stop when in Hyannis. I will definitely be back! So glad we found this place. After days of trying seafood places in cape cod, we were ready for something different and had a craving for Mexican food. We both got margaritas (from a large menu) which were large and delicious. Chips come out still hot and served with really good salsa. Guacamole appetizer is delicious and large. I love Anejo and I have been customer since they open. In December my friend and I went for dinner and with the check we got red envelopes (free appetizers, dessert) went back in January to use those envelopes and I got free chicken wings but burned. They did not taste good and I did not complain only because they were free or maybe I should've. Other than that I like the place. read more

Awesome atmosphere, reasonably priced, amazing food, excellent service. i usually sit at the bar, any time i go in Im greeted by the bartender and servers. They make you feel like you're in the right place at the right time. Best tacos Ive ever had. They had a promotion going on in December where they would give you a red envelope, and if you came back in January with it unopened, they would open it for you and you receive a prize. I was rewarded with chicken wings, and they were spectacular. Good crisp and flavor was on point. I get chicken tacos with lettuce, pickles ( trust me ) chipotle aioli, and cheese. A must try. Anejo's food is consistently good . I like to be seated in the front part of restaurant facing Main Street ( beautiful washed wood ceiling and banquets) or the second level area near the bar. Last night we were seated in an annex bar area ( towards outside rear seating area) and it was terrible. Ugly lighted signs on the wall, ' tequila made me do it' blaring music, flat screen tv's. Let me start by saying we're from Arizona, we know Mexican food! The salsa and chips were really good. Got seated in the bar and the Bruins were playing to save their lives (that's playoff hockey speak) plus several tables of girls-night-out-dinner tables so it was loud... until the Bruins won and the ladies headed out! Ordered Tres Enchiladas (x2) , Carne Asada tacos & Mahi tacos. The mole sauce is fabulous! Seriously good! Chocolate and pepper goodness! Carne Asada tacos were on corn tortillas and covered with guacamole! Fish tacos also got rave reviews as well. Had the Casa margaritas and they are perfect- buckle up! Mexican restaurant on Main Street that is a notch above the others. 5 stars because service is great. They have outside seating, albeit limited. Free chips and salsa. Big portions on food and drinks. They are a bit more on the expensive side but considering it's cape cod during the summer, the prices are very appropriate and reasonable for what you are getting. Been there a couple of times and it was great except for slow service here and there but again, it's cape cod in the summer so it's busy. Would recommend/would go again. read more
