Mid November of 2015 I was desperately looking for a dependable reasonably price moving company. it had to be a blessing to discover Anthony's Moving Service. Dena supported me with planning the move and gave me an unbelievable price quote. Enrique and Josh (I believe was the name of the other mover) were no joke! They loaded and unloaded our furnishings and boxes quite quickly with the utmost of care. To our surprise they arrived at our new Palm Springs residence 10 minutes after us. I am apprehensive to write this review, because the more people find out about them I fear they won't be available for me! I have worked with Dena and the team at Anthony's twice, once to move me and most recently to move my mom, and both times have been amazing experiences. It starts in the beginning with Dena, and the actual movers are great. They are very communicative, reliable, professional, helpful and beyond easy to work with. I hate that I couldn't remember the names of the first two gentleman I worked with, but if you are fortunate enough to work with the trifecta that is Frankie, George and Tim, your move will be an easy process. If you need a good moving company with reputable management, you need to consider another company. We contacted Anthony's Moving from a referral. A verbal agreement was reached for their services on a Saturday morning. They contacted us and asked if Saturday afternoon would be okay and we agreed for them to arrive right after lunch.Saturday at 1:00 pm came and went...then 2:00...then at 3:00, we called and spoke with the manager. She said she would find out where the movers were and call us back in 10 minutes. Ten minutes went by and we called back...no answer. Over the course of the next 3 hours, we called repeatedly only to have ALL of our calls go unanswered or to voice mail. Many messages were left and at 6:00 pm, we received a call saying the guys would be there in an hour and a half. At 7:30 no one was there so another call was made with no answer.We had to set my wife and mother in law up in a hotel since all beds had been disassembled. At 9:00 pm we got a call saying the guys were on their way. We told them it was too late and they would have to come the next morning. A time of 9:00 was agreed to. At 9:00 on Sunday morning, they were not there. The movers finally arrived at 9:30. The movers began to wrap and load our things. The manager called the movers and had them call another customer with whom they had a 10:00 appointment to tell their other customer they would be late. The mover was on the phone with the other customer for over 30 minutes which kept him from working on my move.The movers were very careful with our stuff but it took much longer than I had anticipated to move our two bedroom apartment (10 hours and we were only moving 2 miles).The manager had offered us a reduction of $10.00 per hour for not showing up on Saturday along with no charge for the tape. Due to it being a weekend with no way to contact another mover, we agreed to the reduction. As the movers were finishing up the move late Sunday night, I called the manager to negotiate reimbursement for the hotel room due to it being their fault that the room was needed in the first place. The manager refused to pay the cost of the hotel and told me that "I am not in the business of paying for hotel rooms", even though it was her company's fault in the first place. When I disagreed with her response, she placed me on hold with the excuse of having someone in her office (I don't know if anyone was there or not). She immediately called the movers and told them to stop the move until this was sorted out. I could hear the mover talking with her on his phone and the conversation lasted 18 minutes which also took away from my move. We were exhausted and needed the move completed so we didn't push the hotel issue. We had to pay the movers because they had to pay the company out of their pocket and if they didn't get paid, it would cost them money so I reluctantly paid the $600.00 to complete the move. While the movers themselves were good, the company as a whole leaves a lot to be desired. Their customer service is non-existent and the attitude of the management is totally unprofessional. If they are the only option, I will make my next move by myself. read more

What a pleasurable experience! A quickly scheduled move for my boss went off like clockwork. Checked out five companies. One had great response but was high priced. Anthony's was a personal referral. Called them next. Deena answered the phone. Was to the point and professional. Told her I would call her back. Called three others with no live person. Got pricing off websites. 2nd time using a moving company, and I was very pleased with these guys. I had Danny and Victor to help me move a 2bd 1ba apt upstairs to a 2bd 2ba 40 miles from Anaheim to west la. The movers arrived on time and literally started working the moment they walked in, one guy started carrying while the other did paperwork with me. I had zero marks on walls or carpet or anything. These guys were older men, professionals who were very cautious with all items. We packed almost all of our belongings in the days prior to the move and it only took 1.5hrs to pack the truck, about 2 hrs unloading and setting up, total of 5 hrs. Price was $600. I would've loved to give this company a 5-star rating like the others did but I was not given the chance. I talked to a girl but she seems like she was not paying attention. Finally she took my information, "locked" me in on the day and time I needed and said she will call me back in 20 minutes. Hours later and no call, nada. When I was on a way to new place. I followed mover's car but they took different way and I lost them. When I arrived my new place I was waiting for them to arrive more than 30mins. Finally they came in and told me they needed to stop for gas and the guy was holding scratch games in hand and played it in front of me. ~_~; Of course they charged me whole time they went to gas station and so on. It should be enough gas if they came with full tank of gas. They are charging by time so if they were well prepared I didn't have to spend that extra. read more

Dena and her guys moved our stuff on a Sunday a few weeks ago into pods which went into storage. I couldn't have asked for a better team to move us. They were polite and hard working. Dena, the boss, knows her stuff and when she told them what she thought was best they listened and followed through. They respected her. After getting most in pods, they then moved our king bed to temporary housing. It was extremely difficult because of the narrow space going up the stairs, but they figured out a way. This was a long, hot day, but I never heard any complaining. I definitely will use this company again when we move to our permanent home. Highly recommend. read more

Run away from this company When I first contacted the owner She Seemed very nice. She told me she would drop off wardrobe boxes, and give me a quote. I called her twice before she actually did that, and to her credit, she actually did come by, and drop off wardrobe boxes, and gave us some moving tips. No quote in writing, verbal only.The day the movers showed up it was three guys, who immediately informed me that my payment would need to be in cash. I was dumbfounded. I said no one told me that, and who keeps $1200 in cash lying around?". They insisted that that was the way it was, when I called her her response was "well I gave you the cash price" to which I responded I didn't know there was a cash price. They took a 15 min. Break 30 min after they arrived, took 30 min to figure out how to move a refrigerator, tore my couch and broke my refrigerator door. Horrible. read more

My move with Anthony's went very well. I called only a couple days before the move needed to happen. Dena was great getting everything arranged with estimates and advice. I had stuff coming from Yorba Linda and being delivered to Asuza and Los Angeles. The two guys that were sent out for my move were Fantastic. Enrique and Ron both were hard workers and very responsible for the items that they were moving. They actually called a billiard store to ensure that their method of moving the pool table was not going to be an issue - it wasn't! There were no items that were in any way damaged - that is impressive given the size and number of the items being moved. They were friendly, helpful and in every way a great moving team. A few years ago (waited because my mom was scared the mover would retaliate because he was really mean) we used this company. They were supposed to show around 12-2. 5-6pm they finally showed up complaining about the last move they had took too long. Whatever we want our stuff moved you're here let's go. So through the moving process the main guy was rude. He was continuously complaining about how the office person didn't tell them they were moving a 2 story condo to another 2 story apartment unit. He wasn't happy. How that was our fault I don't know. So after all the move is over he's pissed at how late it is. When he is collecting money (they will not accept credit cash only) the guy commented about tip. COUNTED the money and made a rude comment to my mom about how much she tipped him. He said it's 20% like when you're in a restaurant. First off. We are all bartenders and servers. If I act a fool , am rude and complain the entire experience I don't expect a full 20% tip. The service u give is the tip u receive. Rude. Unprofessional. And made my mom extremely uncomfortable. And when he DEMANDED the tip. Sorry bro. You didn't deserve it. The next day I realized part of my book case was missing shelves. Found them outside by the garbage. My father was a truck driver and moved families across country. I lived in a truck as a kid and was around it all. I expect professionalism in this atmosphere. I understand the frustration but don't ever treat your clients like they did you wrong. They are trusting u with their belongings. Don't treat them like garbage . Don't complain. Do your job and get on with it. You get paid regardless. This review is a little overdue, but I wanted to make sure I shared my experience with the yelpers out there. My family recently just moved to Yorba Linda from Huntington Beach and Deena and her team were referred to us by some friends that recently used their services. I've used many other moving services in the past and they've all been pretty good..at least so I thought. Deena and her team basically just blew them other moving services out of the water, they have set the bar so high that I can't imagine ever having to use another moving service. Deena is awesome, she came out a week before the move to drop off wardrobe boxes and to evaluate the place. She was up front and honest and told me exactly what I would need and how many people. I will say they were a little pricier but you get what you pay for and the premium pricing was worth every penny. They deal typically with high end clientele and they're not afraid to admit it. My family likes nice things and we're willing to pay for them. So of course we hope they would handled with care. The guys showed up right on time and got right to work.. Now understand when I say right to work it meant prepping the house for the move..covering up the walls and floor so they would not get damaged. They wrapped every piece of furniture and carefully got everything loaded without a scratch. Once we got everything loaded in an impressive amount of time, we were off to our new home. Again, before they took one piece of furniture off the truck they went and covered up the walls and the flooring and basically made it so nothing would be damaged...afterwards they helped clean up and set up the furniture. Hands down, best movers ever and I would use them every time no hesitation. So to sum up...if you value your possessions and want people to handle them as if it were their own...then this is your company. Pay the difference and go with these guys...the piece of mind is worth every penny. read more

It's always a difficult job moving but this move involved clearing out my parents' home. So many memories and going through all of their belongings was heartbreaking. I knew I needed help and a close friend referred me to Anthony's Moving & Storage. I contacted Anthony's and was impressed that the Owner Dena Cohen with 25 years experience and her Supervisor Abel Azevedo immediately scheduled an appointment to come over and assess the moving project. I found Dena and Abel to be very kind and at the same time very take charge. I was so relieved by the end of the meeting because I knew Anthony's was just the right moving company for me. Little did I know how "right and amazing" they would turn out to be. I worked with Dena and her team Abel, Frank, Tim and Ronnie for about a month and was amazed everyday at what they accomplished, how quickly they worked and how organized they were. They exceeded my expectations. All my items were handled with care and expertly packed. Several large dumpsters were filled and and some of the furniture pieces had to be broken down. I really wanted to give this company my business. I appreciated that Dena came to our home to get us an estimate and tried to provide great service, but in the end I was annoyed by a few things and did not end up hiring them. First, she added a 20% additional charge on top of the hourly fee that she did no quote me on the phone. Then started adding a bunch of other fees on top of that. Every other company I called just had a flat hourly fee. Second, she was supposed to come to my house at a certain time, and she called to confirm the night before. I didn't get a chance to call her back until after hours, and left a message on the office number she gave me. Then she didn't show up and called me later saying she didn't get my confirmation so she didn't show up. If she knew she wasn't going to be at the office she should give me her cell number. We had already set the appt a few days before, she shouldn't have assumed that the appt was off. Overall I felt like she was trying to give me good service but I felt like I was being hustled on pricing, which annoyed me. So I ended up going with another company. read more

I used this company a little over a year ago and will be again shortly! I kept saying I would write a review but ya know when things are bad somewhere we always make the time to tell everyone and when they are good we just go about our day forgetting to praise them. Well that's what I did. This was my third moving company I used in 2 years in the OC and by far the best. The first charged me and arm and a leg taking forever but were careful then the second was way cheaper but broke 2 lamps and scratched multiple items. So I guess third time was the charm. And it's true fast isn't cheap and good isn't cheap. With Anthony's they are competitively priced but it's there overall service that makes their price cheap. Talk about more bang for your buck. They wrap everything and will even box and pack for you if you haven't finished. They have these great wardrobe boxes. I seriously didn't have to lift a finger and they totally wouldn't even let me when I have even wondered why I paid other companies cuz I did so much. I moved out of a two bedroom apt into a room I rented. So I had two stops one to a storage and one to my new place. These guys were great about it. It didn't even phase them having to deal with two stops and an upstairs storage unit with a not so easy apartment complex to get into. he worst move ever!!!!! Totally unprofessional, took over 17 hours to move from a 2 story apt. to a 2 story house. Didn't fit all my things in the truck (never viewed them, but asked over the phone a week from the move) Refused to put my things together after 2am and they were tired. Left my desk with hutch in my dining room downstairs. I had to have friends come at 2am help unload the truck into the garage where they quickly tossed my boxes and heard glass shatter. Tried to work with them but refused to pay over insurance amount, which I would expect under normal conditions (professional moving things, not unprofessionally tossing my belongings because they were tired) but still was not cooperative and took over 2 months to give me an answer. I even had someone help at the first end taking boxes to the truck to save time, yet still took over 17 hours. I've moved the SAME furniture before into/out of a 2 story house, and the longest move took just over 8 hours and a 30 mile drive, not just a short hop like this move was. Should have hired REAL MOVERS with more than one review here on yelp. read more

I called around to many moving companies and really did my homework before booking anyone to help move our family on a local move. Each and every time I spoke with Dena she was so helpful. We had a couple last minute hiccups that were out of our control and caused a lot of stress on our end. When I called and explained the situation to Dena she was beyond FANTASTIC and went to work with problem solving and helping us make back up plans (she acted like a friend not just someone doing her job). The morning of the move there was a car accident right in front of our house which blocked the moving van from pulling up. The movers and Dena were on top of it and so helpful in trying to figure out how best to do the first portion of our move so that we weren't delayed. As for the movers they were hardworking, respectful and treated our belongings the way anyone would want their stuff treated, with care!
