Last night I decided to take my two granddaughters to dinner here per their request, we were starving and wanted to have a nice sit down dinner, it was slow about 6:PM, we waited for a table to be cleared and were seated, didn't wait long for the server to take our orders girls took advantage of the colorings and activity sheet they were given, what my complaint is we waited almost 30 minutes for our food to arrive, my French dip was cold the roll was plain and hard , girls ordered off the children's menu and was quite pathetic looked nothing like the pictures that's for sure, meat was dry as a bone, fries were cold, I'm not one to complain although I wish I had just really expected more from this place, afterwards I ordered 2 kids sundae's took a while for them to arrive as well, I commented on how large they were coming from the Childrens menu 1.99$, server said nothing, I noticed today my fault again that I was charged and given large sundae's. For the lack of quality of food time it took to get the food and total cost with tip 55.00$ I will never step foot in the restaurant again. High priced Low quality Poor service read more

I just ordered from here with door dash. I ordered a clubhouse sandwich. The sandwich looks great but it was missing the fries. If you take anymore orders for the sandwiches please do not forget the fries. It is very disappointing when you have been waiting forthem. It completes the sandwich and is usually the best part. Ok Applebee's is a chain and they vary in many different ways. First, we waited a considerable amount of time before we were acknowledged. Our server was good and pointed out their 2 for 20 menu. My Wife had the Oriental chicken salad while I ordered the Bourbon street shrimp and chicken based on what I saw on the menu. We all know that food photography is a lie. The taste had some off-putting flavor. The shrimp were so shriveled that the chicken was like fillet mignon. If I ever eat at this chain again I guess I will stick to burgers. read more

Went last night to meet my best friend for a drink.... or 2. Took my husband too because well they have space dust on tap. We had a great time. Shameka our bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable. She didn't skip a beat with drink refills. When placing a food order she had a recommendation for wings (nascar style). The fry them, till them in Asian sauce and then grill them. Yummm. My only issue is the smell of funk. Like it needs a good deep cleaning. You can smell it when you open the first door. read more

I would of done a 1 1/2 if i could. We went last night to eat and it seemed pretty nice walkin towards it. But once u got inside someone had to tell us where to go to check in because all their doors are open..took about 5 minutes to get seated. We had gianna as our server. Uhh i could say for appearance i would not look like i just got outta bed. She took our order and asked if we wanted to have our salad before our meal (a classic cesar salad) we said yes and she said she would be back with our drinks. Our drinks came out and no body gave us straws. My bfs tea had iced tea with no ice in it and my frozen lemonade wasnt frozen anymore. We waited about 30 minutes for our food to come out. Once our food came out i had to asked about our salad that came out 10 minutes after our food came out. All in all i would not recommend this place to anyone and i work in the food industry as well read more

We have ordered meals from Applebee's (via Carside to Go) numerous times and have never been disappointed. We usually choose items off of the "2 for $20" menu. I always get the steak, whereas my husband has found the pasta entrees to be the best bet for a good meal. One occasion we actually went into the restaurant to eat, but were very unhappy with the service. This occurrence happened during the summer. Since Palm Desert is a 'resort town' of sorts, the restaurant was probably short-staffed during the summertime (the off-season). The food was still great, but we'll stick to ordering food "Carside to Go". read more

Stopped in here for a late lunch -- the place is of the nicer coffee-shop decor, i.e. more pleasant than Denny's or IHOP. The menu has a lot of tempting items, but my bride of 36 years and I decided on the 2-for-$20 deal. Surprisingly, we decided on the same entrees -- steak with fries. Except I like my meat brown all the way through, she prefers hers medium-raw. Pink, anyway. We shared the onion-rings appetizer, which were quite large and not greasy at all. The steaks apparently are not prime -- maybe choice, because they could have been more tender. But, what the hey, this isn't LG's, Morton's or Ruth Chris'. There, we would have paid five times as much and not even gotten a side dish. So I'm not complaining. We splurged on dessert, the 99-cent "Brownie Bite" which came with vanilla ice cream and a dash of chocolate syrup. It was more than just one bite, and actually was just enough for a peasant end to a decent meal. Can't beat it for the price. read more

I love it when I love a place. I do. But I am slightly uncomfortable with how much I loved my experience at this Applebee's. I mean, it's Applebee's! I heart this place. This SPECIFIC Applebee's, that it. Here's the lowdown: We had been playing tennis with my mom in Palm Desert (very ritzy, I know) and there were some hot air balloons going by oh way up in the sky and, lo and behold, one of them was a big old Applebee's advert. My bf, mom and mom's hubby were looking for a place to eat before we had to return to reality and, oddly enough - we all wanted Applebee's! (Excellent advertising, folks!) We were seated within minutes of arriving in a booth (the seats were oddly uncomfortable for me - my bf had no complaints) and our waiter took care of us right quick. I, of course, had to fall into line and go for the 2 for $20 deal with my bf (1 shared appetizer and 2 entrees for $20). I love that you can choose all this food and not pay, like anything for it. Does it taste like a nice sitdown at Spago? NO - it's Applebee's! But it is tasty enough to be worth it. Here is why I truly love this location - service, service, service! In the rush of the evening, the waiter took away my barely eaten dinner (I ate most of the dip, half a french onion soup and a good deal of my bf's meal). Now, I am the queen of leftovers. I rarely walk out of a restaurant without a styrofoam box or aluminum foil swan in tow. When I noticed my missing Riblet Basket (don't judge!), we flagged down the manager. He went to check in the kitchen and said that he didn't see my leftovers wrapped up so he went ahead and had them make me up a whole new order to go. Wow. I asked myself: Who does that? Could I get any better customer service? Did I really NEED an entire extra serving of the highest calorie dish on the Applebee's menu? Of course! At the end of the meal, the manager who helped us came by and chatted and we thanked him profusely. He gives my step-dad his card and says to ask for him next time they are in. This Applebee's guy is goin' places, folks. And this girl, with a wild 20's behind her that turned her memory to swiss cheese, can't remember the guy's name. The two stars is for the food, which I would've given higher amount... but We walked in at 12:30 and someone was getting sat before us... I asked a server who was standing by the host stand (needless to say, she was just standing there...not helping seating) if it was ok if we sat ourselves in the bar area. She hesitated and said "umm, yeah, someone will bring you menus". We sat in the bar...waited about 3 or 4 minutes before the bartender told someone to bring us menus. We got the menus and the bartender came over a few minutes later and said "Hi, Can I get you something to drink". To be honest, I prefer a "Welcome to ... Thanks so much for coming in today, can I interest you in... to start you off?" or give me something that makes me feel welcomed...We decided to do to 2 iced teas. The bartender gave us our iced teas and asked if we were ready? I hesitated, as I rarely go into Applebee's and wasn't sure what exactly to order. I didn't ask for any recommendations but it would've been nice to get something out of our server, or perhaps point us in the right direction, rather than just "oh ok, i'll be back". We ordered and the bartender gave me a refill on my iced tea (it was 109 outside, you know I'm drinking it pretty fast!). We ordered the Bleu/Blackened Burger and the Cajun Lime Shrimp and Rice Pilaf. We waited just over 10 minutes (not bad on timing) and we dug in. Ketchup on the table was low...I had to shake it just to salvage out enough for my fries. No one stopped by to ask if we needed anything else - we didn't need anything else and everything tasted fine, but a little ranch for my fries would've been nice, but I was fine with going without any. Towards the end of the meal, I was close to empty on my iced tea...instead of grabbing my cup one more time and filling it up, she dropped off the iced tea pitcher and left it on the table. What the? Seriously? I drank a good amount of iced tea, but C'MON! Ten tables in the restaurant at the time I was in there, Two servers and a bartender. The Bartender had cashed out a table right when we sat down which could've been the delay of our greetings, but after that she had us and 2 other tables (which had already had food by the time we ordered). She wasn't overwhelmed, so I can't imagine that being the issue in the service that day? Perhaps she was upset because we sat ourselves...?? Regardless, I don't want to have to come up with excuses for poor service. It wasn't necessarily poor service, but we got the BARE Minimum, and it didn't go above and beyond... which in my book is on the same level as giving poor service. Luckily we had gotten a gift card as a present...as I don't think I'd use my own money to go into this place! read more

I came here because it was the only place still open late. Big mistake. I ordered the bourbon shrimp/chicken and it was very salty. The lemonade and the peach ice tea were pretty bad. The lemonade taste it like Kool-Aid and that peach iced tea was just sugar and water. My kids pizza tasted awful it was like lousy school food. Very disappointing! Good food but the staff was less than helpful and exceptionally slow considering the restaurant was probably only 70% full. Although my party of 3 was greeted and seated right away, it took quite some time before a staff member stopped talking amongst themselves and took our drink order. Drinks took a little bit to arrive. Ordered an appetizer (Artichoke Dip) and it came out with no plates. I asked for some small plates. I think the young man went and asked a neighboring restaurant if he could borrow some because we were half-way through the appetizer before he came back. I should mention we were seated in a booth around the bar area--how far can some extra plates be? Along the same lines, our drinks weren't attended to either and when we did ask for a refill it took way too long. Bottom line: Food is great, service is poor. I came here while in town for business and it's simply Ok. The first night I came, by myself and they seated me in a booth all the way in the back, by the restrooms. Fine. My server that night was Ok but nothing spectacular. I'm thinking her name was Erica. It took about 10 minutes before she acknowledged that I was there and after that, my food came within a reasonable amount of time, but there was no extra service that would cause me to tip big. Just the minimum. I think I got more of a greeting from another server, just passing by than I did the one serving me. I try not to pass judgement unless things are really bad, but this place probably gets more business from tired travelers who are staying at the Marriot Courtyard, right next door. People, like me, don't know where else to go, so they hit Applebees. The second night I went there, service was a bit better, but again, nothing spectacular. Again I was seated in the same booth, at the back of the restaurant, probably because I was alone. To sum it all up, the food was decent, but the prices were inflated a bit too much, I think. $25 for one person to have a meal and lackluster service seems high to me. Whatever. My first dining experience here was mediocre. I was quickly seated at a table and that started the waiting game. After about 20+ minutes, I started to wonder if I was seating in a section without a server. The waiter finally showed up and took my order. He had like 3-4 tables max and yet was gone 99% of the time. I wasn't in a hurry thankfully, but other tables got tired of the long wait times and complained a lot! It felt like 35+ minutes before food got served and I just couldn't understand it. The restaurant wasn't that busy. I'll dine here again, but only when I have nothing else to do that day. Unfortunately this Applebee's didn't live up to the food and service standard that I've come to expect of this restaurant chain. Our server was pleasant but forgetful and quite slow. The food was the most disappointing factor. We opted for the 2 for $20 deal with the Artichoke Spinach dip to begin with, the Chicken Penne pasta for me and the Blackened Chicken pasta for my husband. The results: - dip left in oven too long = burnt cheese and edges - husband's "blackened" chicken looked (and tasted) no different than mine - the pasta with my husband's entree was so sparce you could see the bottom of his plate - the supposedly fresh bread sticks were lukewarm and absent of the oil & herb brushing - and finally it took 10 minutes wait after we finished eating to get the check and another 10 to receive the receipt Luckily this is not our home Applebee's so its no loss to us to never dine here again. read more

Have never really been a big fan of Applebee's, but this one was close when we were desperate for a lunch and didn't have much time. We were greeted by a very friendly and attentive hostess who seemed to like her job and was great with customers. Our waitress was attentive and friendly and helpful with her knowledge of the menu and how food was prepared. Service as fast and friendly and our waitress seemed to know how and when to check on us without being intrusive. The oriental chicken salad was fresh and tasty and the low calorie sizzling chili lime chicken platter was hot and cooked fresh. All in all not a bad experience when in a hurry. read more

Walked in with my parents, hoping to have a nice lunch. We walked in the bar, as it's opening seating. It was not packed, so we thought nothing of it. The bar tender walks up to us, and says "What are you doing? You need to be check in by the hostess" then left. Kinda surprised, so we go back to check in, and the hostess said that we didn't check in, as it's the bar, with open seating. So we go back in the bar, and waited for Jessica, the bar tender. Someone else walked in the bar, sat down and Jessica was there, to help serve the person, with no hesitation. 10 minutes later, Jessica finally comes over to take our order. Never made eye contact with any of us, very short with her answers, rolled her eyes a few times. After she took our order, I went to talk to the manager(s) about Jessica, as she came across very rude. They said they we're going to take care of it but never did. My moms drink had no alcohol in it. Long story short, don't go here, unless you like rude bar tenders and drinks with no alcohol in them. read more

Worst Applebee's ever. Came in on a Friday 7/21/18 for a couple of drinks. The staff in the kitchen were belligerent and extremely loud. Yelling and banging as if at an NFL game (not exaggerating)...and don't get me wrong, we love our drinks and being loud but this was out of control especially coming from employees at an establishment. They were louder than the entire restaurant, our server had to raise his voice to speak over the noise. We were in shock and decided to leave. Awful experience. My husband, daughter & I came to eat here we both ordered a steak we requested for it to be cooked medium well and it was cooked well done it was so dry & burnt! Its the little thigs that make a meal great - or aweful. When I come to Applebee's I expect some level of quality service, and usually, they deliver. Not this one... Ot could have been the fact that they served our appetizers with the meal, or the 10 minute wait for the refill on soda, or the fact that nobody bothered to ask if we were enjoying our food the whole time (like I said - the little things). My wife and usually go to the movies and cheese cake factory for many years. We went to new movies in La Quinta and stpped buy Applebees, Issaac our waiter seemed ok, until I told him I didn't like the onion soup appetizer serve 2 min before my steack, soup was cold, slice of wheat bread ontop a some chewie, cheese? The steavk was ok, veggies were bland,seemed micro waved, and ,"the works" mashed potatoes were cold and not all that. Will never be back, bad food opinion ated server, " you should have told me about soup, I attempted to explain why and he walked away. FIVE STARS TO JOJO!!! We prepartied here before Coachella and JoJo was one of the best servers I've ever had anywhere. I worked in the industry for years and it takes a lot to impress me. She was so attentive and on top of it - she should be working at a high end spot. No doubt she'd encountered a lot of annoying drunks Coachella weekend but she was pleasant as can be. The next day we came back before boarding the shuttle and the service was lackluster at best. Took over 10 minutes for anyone to come over and our server was clueless. I ordered a vodka soda and she asked if I wanted Diet Pepsi, pepsi..... I said no, club soda. She replied, oh, like Sierra Mist? More training for staff is needed but by God do whatever you can to retain JoJo and her talent and attitude. read more

Applebee's is always a trustworthy franchise, you can never be disappointed. At this establishment, the service was above average and the employees made the experience memorable. We tried the Bacon Cheeseburger, which was great and recommended, but have had better. There is a wide variety of food and drinks. We also had the boneless wings appetizer, it was very crunchy and tasty, also recommended. With COVID-19, there were lots of precautions they made. Every table was 6 ft apart, and all the workers had masks. They have dine in available and it almost felt normal again. They also have paper menus that they do not reuse to be sanitary. Horrible customer service from the moment we walked in. We were not greeted by the hostess. She just looked at us until we told her how many were in our party. Once we were seated, the server was the same way. She never introduced herself. We placed our drink and food orders together as we were very hungry. We received our waters a few minutes later. Our on-tab beers came out seconds before our food was placed on the table which was roughly 15 min after ordering it. The wings tasted like they had freezer burn. The server quickly asked how our food was as she walked by our table and did not stop to wait for a response. We asked for our check and did not receive a "thank you for dining with us" of any kind. We were extremely polite the entire time and initially very understanding. I now remember why I don't eat at Applebee's. read more

Let's just begin with: I had never eaten at Applebees before. the service was good. mango iced tea was delish. Chili Cheese Nachos were beyond disappointing. There really wasn't much on the nachos... well plenty of lettuce and a giant dollop of sour cream. I got the french onion soup, which I had also never had, but thought it was pretty good.
