RISOTTO!! I had a reservation on a weekend night, and while the restaurant is quite small- making it tricky for guests to move around if they weren't happy with their table or bar seat- the intimate setting added to its charm. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. For starters, I tried the Tuna Crudo. While the portion was disappointingly small for the price, the flavors were bold and well-balanced, making every bite count. For one of my entrée, I went with the Braised Beef Short Ribs, which were incredibly tender and packed with rich, savory flavor. However, I should've taken my server's advice and swapped the polenta for mashed potatoes- the polenta was too watery and lacked depth. The highlight of the meal, without a doubt, was the Risotto of the Day: a pumpkin risotto with shrimp. It was nothing short of phenomenal. The rice was perfectly cooked, the pumpkin added a subtle sweetness without being overpowering, and the shrimp melted in my mouth. It leaned on the richer side, and while my stomach was waving the white flag, my heart simply couldn't stop. Even though the risotto selection changes, I can't imagine it ever being a letdown. If you dine here, do yourself a favor and order the risotto- it's easily in my top three favorites of all time.

Cosy dining space in the north end with upscale modern sensibilities. Both our server and host took care of us well, with a nice birthday surprise in the form of a deconstructed tiramisu. Food was delicious- the seafood risotto, beef short rib over creamy polenta, and eggplant parm app were great.

As a vegetarian, there weren't too many dishes for me to try. However, the ones that I did saved this review. I ordered the pesto pasta and it was amazing. I think about it a lot. The ambiance was very fancy and it really felt like fine dining. The view from the window felt like a movie. One day when I return to Boston, I will make sure to stop by.

WOW! I have to say, Aqua Pazza did not fail to impress with their espresso martinis. This is a MUST get if you like coffee. The martini is well-blended, and has a chocolate rim that is a delicious addition. I also enjoyed the zucchini flowers and lobster pillows - both of which were also amazing. This is a cozy spot for a nice dinner for an event, a special someone, or a celebration with friends.

Really enjoyed Aqua Pazza the first time I came here, easily would have been 5 stars. However, the second time really tarnished my overall experience here, and because of that visit, I won't be back here again. First time here: Great service, most likely because we were one of the few tables here. Drinks were tasty yet strong. Food was so beyond amazing, and the complimentary bread came out piping hot with a delicious side of pesto. Calamari and the homemade spaghetti vongole was cooked to perfection. Everything was so great, that we decided we wanted to bring the rest of our family here. Now onto the second time.... HORRIBLE service from the get-go. Reservations were made in advance but pointless. We had to wait 40 minutes after our reservation time in order to finally get a table, and they brought us to a tiny table they insisted we must squish in. Bread was cold and hard like a rock. Felt like they took it out of the fridge and served it to us. When we asked about it, they said they didn't have time to warm it up. Shouldn't quality be the same every time regardless of when you dine at a restaurant? The food was quite average this time. It seems that they sacrifice on quality when there's a higher demand for quantity. So if you are planning to dine here, I'd recommend choosing a day when they're not busy.

Small space and very intimate so would definitely recommend making a reservation for a table over sitting at the bar. Had some great oysters there and the pasta was excellent

Finally! A place in Boston we all loved! This small quaint location seats about 50. Reservation is highly recommended. It's bright and clean inside. The service was outstanding. Our server "Willy" was attentive. He heard us talking about my sisters birthday and made sure to bring out a special plate that said happy birthday with a candle. He even sang with the other server to her. It was wonderful! The zucchini flowers were outstanding! I would return just for those. The manicotti was as advertised. Delicious. The seafood risotto was very good. It had a little more bit than I like but in the range of what's expected. The spaghetti was very good with the meatballs being great! The lobster pillows had some really nice claw chunks of lobster throughout and it was very tasty. It was a reasonable walk from Marriott Custom House as well. I highly recommend.

Came here for Christmas dinner and was let down by the service. Our appetizers were good, but the shrimp cocktail on the seafood menu was apparently one shrimp for $10.99? Insanity. Our server was not around a lot and we also noticed he did not tell us any specials unlike the other servers. My espresso martini also came spilled with the glass stem dirty and sticky. The food was okay. We asked for the gnocchi to be split between us, and it was a very generous portion even as half. It tasted like a loaded potato soup to me, so it was very rich and thick. The wagyu burger was okay - we were not asked for doneness so it came well done. The veal chop Milanese was fine but probably won't order it next time. It needed a little more salt. The insalata mista was very tasty and refreshing. The key lime pie was tart and sweet. We saw the tableside tiramisu which looked fun but we already felt the food was pretty richec and wanted something tart. The view is nice since it's on the corner but with so many restaurants in the North End, I'm not sure I'll return any time soon.

Came here after Christmas Mass. From the drinks to the salad to the entree and even dessert, everything was perfect! Had the octopus, burrata salad, short rib (insane!!), halibut, gnocchi and chocolate mousse! Service was great and the manager was personable and was a great person to talk to regarding food in the city! Thank you for a perfect Christmas dinner!

Celebrated here with friends and it was a lovely experience! A cozy dining room, bar and raw bar. The staff were attentive and friendly. Food was delicious, as well as the cocktails. The snowfall outside made the night all the more magical. 10/10 - highly recommend!

Aqua pazza deserves more than five stars!!! From the food, to the servers, to the seating, & music. I had a fantastic experience. I would like to first acknowledge our wonderful server Adele. She was SO insightful and welcoming! Also the manager Ciro was super nice he took care of everything and even sent us a complimentary appetizers and even ended it with desert. I had the opportunity to meet the cook, Sandro. He put together the most delicious dish I will tell all my friends and family about! Aqua pazza will definitely see me again. 100/100 recommend to anyone who wants a spectacular date and I almost forgot Bettina the bartender who made us custom drinks! Wow! Aqua pazza is amazing, everything is homemade. Ciro, Adele, Bettina, and especially SANDRO FOR MAKING OUR NIGHT! Best restaurant in Boston wow! read more

Absolutely delicious! We were looking for an Italian Seafood restaurant in the North End, but all of the classics were booked (it was Harvard Graduation). We happened to find Aqua Pazza and hesitated because there were so few guests--they'd only been open 2 weeks. We decided to take a chance bc the few reviews on Yelp so far were so good. We were so glad we did! The food and atmosphere is exactly what we were hoping for! We were DYING over the Zuchinnata (squash blossoms with tempura zucchini -don't forget to dip it tin the small dollops of ricotta with lemon zest) and the Burratina (mozzarella infused with cream). The Cappa Sante (scallops) and Zaffiro Atlantico (salmon) were also amazing. The service was wonderful! I would highly recommend this restaurant and would love to see it do well in the North End. read more

This is a great spot in the North End for both locals and visitors. The food is amazing and the service is always the best. We recently visited for a casual Sunday date night and we were waited on by the bartender, Chris. He was extremely knowledgeable and attentive, and you could tell how passionate he was about the restaurant and the food. He recommended the Bolognese and it did not disappoint. The fresh pasta was cooked perfectly and it was a unique and delicious spin on the traditional dish. I also highly recommend the crab cakes. As for dinner I'd give the scallop ceviche an A, the smelt an A, and the seafood in/on the risotto an A. I'd give the actual risotto a B or maybe a touch less, since it was a bit undercooked and wet rather than creamy. But they really nailed the seafood. Very nice. read more

This gem is a find in the overly saturated, overly commercial and tourist Mecca of Boston's North End! It's REAL GOOD FOOD, not a watered down, false gastronomic experience! The food was an hour from the ocean, pasta is created daily and deserts are to die for. Having covered all courses with incredible attention to details of the delicate tasting experience, you'll need a "RESERVATION" for sure!! (Comfortable, private but small seating!) read more

Had dinner at Aqua Pazza and ordered from the DineOut Boston menu. It was a great experience. 3 wonderful courses for $33 per person. We I ordered the Meatball and the Octopus appetizers and they were delicious! My husband had the seafood Risotto and I had the Aqua Pazza (Halibut, Mussels, Clams) in a delicious wine and garlic sauce. Both entrees were cooked well and were tasty. For dessert - the deconstructed Tiramisu was prepared table side and was very yummy - a great balance of flavors from the lady fingers, espresso, mascarpone, and shavings of Belgium dark chocolate. Giovanni our server was a delight - friendly and funny. read more

I have been to Aqua Pazza three times and absolutely loved it. The fish is fresh, the preparations are simple, elegant, and delicious. It's a very small dining area in the North End but during nice weather they can open up the windows for an al fresco dining experience. They are also extremely good at accommodating food allergies. We were told that the owner's wife has a food allergy and so it is very personally important to him that the restaurant be accommodating. He also makes a gluten- and dairy-free tiramisu that is absolutely to die for. read more

love this new, bright spot in the north end. my friends and i happened upon it after brunch to grab a drink, and ended up getting a seafood tower and overall great experience. while the restaurant is small, it feels super open with high ceilings and tons of light and there are a lot of seats available at the bar. our server was great, he gave great recommendations on the cocktails and we really enjoyed our prosecco cocktails. i tried the agrumi which was citrusy, refreshing, and of course bubbly while my friends loved the fragolina with strawberries and ginger. the seafood tower is a great deal for the price, and all of the seafood was super fresh and delicious. the three crudos were my favorite with various purees and pickled garnishes, and the oysters were very fresh and briny. read more

This place is fantastic! Love that it is off the bustle of Hanover. Great presentation. We had the Tonno, the zuchatinna, burratini, and 12 oysters to start. All of it was delicious. The burratini (think I'm saying that right) was a fresh take on your standard burrata. Olive oil is made in house too! For entree we had the burger (sneaky unreal), the scallops, and the orata. Will definitely be back! Service was very well done! read more

So we just came back from Italy and found ourselves showing a friend around Boston. Despite the dangers of comparison, we ended up in the North End. My teenage foodie fell in love with vongole in Naples and wanted to try it again. I warned him, this is not Italy so don't be surprised if you are disappointed. He ordered it anyway. Wow, it was fantastic! The service was wonderful and the food as close to the old country as one could get. Highly recommend! read more

My boyfriend and I came here for our third anniversary and had the most amazing night! The food is amazing and has a distinctly modern Italian flare. I had the scallops with cauliflower and truffles and my boyfriend had seafood risotto. The highlight of the night was when they brought us free dessert and dessert wine for our anniversary. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The decor is modern and fashionable and our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back! read more

Fantastic food; clean and elegant ambiance feels airy with tall ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, white curtains, breeze through the open windows... Friendly attentive service, inexpensive and very good wine. Two of us had the tuna crudo - flavors and textures were incredible in such unexpected combination - black garlic purée has some sweetness, rich, smooth, a little heat from finely sliced chili pepper, nice crunch of pickled watermelon rind, and the super fresh fish Crispy smelts, very light crunch and two dipping sauces Orata- very light dish, perfect for summer, crispy skin, so moist it melts on your tongue And the so highly recommend Aqua Pazza branzino. This is a whole fish braised in very delicious wine and lemon sauce. It is surprisingly easy to eat, it falls off the bones and is fantastic Easily the best dinner we've had in Boston! read more

OMG! If you love Italian food this is your place. I have eaten Italian food all over the world, let me tell you Aqua Pazza stands toe to toe with the best of them. If you're in the Northend of Boston you can not skip this place. Take it from me. This place is Awesome! Hats off to the owner as he pays attention to the smallest of details and it definitely shows. Excellent on all counts! Service was perfect the whole night. Our waiter was fast, friendly, and on top of everything. The food was outstanding! We had the Burratinna and the Zucchinatta to start. Both were amazing, especially the Zucchinata. My wife had the Wagyu burger and I had the Cappa Sante. Both good. Drinks were great too...I especially liked the draft beer, "Exhibit A". I DEFINITELY recommend trying Aqua Pazza. You won't be disappointed. read more

Best food in all of Boston. This restaurant provides a modern atmosphere with unbelievable food. The service at Aqua Pazza is top notch. There are also fresh oysters everyday, which I love. I would highly recommend this place to anyone walking around the North End looking for a good place to relax and eat good food. Incredible find in the north end. The food is absolutely some of the best in the north end. It is nice to find a place that has modern Italian. The service was so kind and knowledgeable . Fantastic atmosphere, great food and excellent service. Arrived on a Thursday night with another couple. Turns out I messed up the reservation on Opentable but the staff was very polite about it and they were able to seat us right away. Our server did a great job in recognizing we were catching up with old friends was attentive without being intrusive. Overall the food was great but the appetizer special, some kind of amazing wagyu beef sushi roll, deserves specific mention. Absolutely will return. read more

Absolutely wonderful service from Phillipe! We wandered by looking for dinner on a girls trip to Boston. Phillipe came out to hand us a menu to look at because the street was a bit dark and the menu posted outside wasn't as easy to read. It was so welcoming! We loved the food, the atmosphere, and the service! So much fun :) Phillipe even chased us outside when I left my scarf behind. Phillipe noticed that my teenage sister was very hungry at the beginning (based on her excitement about crab cakes) so he rushed them out for all three of us and was incredibly attentive! read more

The North End has needed a restaurant like this for quite awhile - So glad Aqua Pazza is here! Fresh food, contemporary setting. A great mix of tradition with unique fresh dishes. We had the black bass roasted in a salt crust - probably the best fish we have had in years. Our friends had the tuna and the scallops - five stars each Cole was our server and he was terrific - very knowledgeable and attentive. We would ask for him again. We plan on making this "our" new restaurant - see you folks at Aqua Pazza next week! read more

Mike and Patrick did an outstanding job in service. Attentive, generous, knowledgeable. Scallop ceviche was excellent: tender and served with orange: delicious. My husband had the scallop main and it was very generous and the scallops were sweet. I had the Carbonara and there is no doubt it was house made. The wine was delicious. Honestly, I would recommend this place not only for the location and the food, but also for the service. read more

The food was amazing (I had the seafood risotto), but it was the bartender who made me want to come back. I love classic cocktails and his Last Word was the best I've ever had. I heard him speaking with other patrons about wine and beer and he sounded just as knowledgeable about them. If you are dining alone the bar feels welcoming and fun. If I lived in Boston I would be a regular. read more

Upon entering this charming establishment, we were treated like family. The lovely server was kind enough to create a table setting for our whole family plus a stroller. Each special was described in delicious detail and after explaining several dietary restrictions, alternative appetizer and meal choices were offered to us. While waiting for our meals, our group enjoyed water (each water glass was filled throughout our evening, never needing to ask) and delicious wine and cocktails. Appetizers tasted even better than they looked. Each of our dinners looked like art work in a museum and each was scrumptious. The entire staff is professional, kind, and absolutely love being there... my wish is that I could give this establishment 10 Stars!!! So looking forward to visits for years to come!!! read more

My boyfriend and I wanted to try something less traditional in the North End. Aqua Pazza is that. Our server was amazing. The food was incredible. I hate the bolognese. The portions were perfect and didn't make me feel like I needed a wheelbarrow to leave. The Sommelier on staff was very knowledgeable and helpful with my wine choices as I knew nothing on the wine list, but know my flavor preferences. I would come here again in a heartbeat. The place itself is so open and comfortable with an entire wall of windows. Highly recommend. read more

The only reason I just downloaded the yelp app was to rave about how amazing my experience just was at Aqua Pazza. Not only was the food and drink incredibly off the beaten path amazing but the service and reception we received from both the staff and management went far beyond anything I've ever seen. I walk past this restaurant every day on my way home from work and will be hard pressed not to stop for at least one drink and appetizer - that's how incredible this place is. You have to go here and see for yourself how above and beyond they are in terms of both quality of food they serve and attentiveness to their customers. read more

We ordered a Diet Coke, the Scampi appetizer, Carbonara, and the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. The scampi was easily the best part of the meal. It was flavorful, cooked well, and made for a nice appetizer to start things off. Unfortunately, the pastas didn't quite meet expectations, especially considering the price. The Rigatoni Alla Vodka was $28, but the pasta wasn't cooked al dente and felt overdone. The Carbonara, also $28, was disappointing as the eggs had curdled and the dish ended up being much oilier than I expected. At $18, the scampi was enjoyable, but overall I don't think the food justified the price point. One bright spot was the service. Our waitress was incredibly kind, checked in on us frequently, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a very aesthetic design. I can definitely see why it's popular on social media. There is also outdoor seating, which I imagine would be a nice option on a warm summer evening. One thing I did notice, though, is how closely the tables are spaced together. Since the restaurant was mostly empty during our visit it wasn't an issue, but I could see it feeling crowded and fairly loud once the dining room fills up. I was honestly surprised by the meal because Gigi is part of the Mazi Restaurant Group, and I've really enjoyed some of their other concepts, especially Kava Neo-Taverna. Based on this experience, though, I think there are plenty of Italian restaurants in Boston that offer better food and better value for the same price. Overall, I'd give Gigi 3/5 stars. The service and atmosphere were both strong, but the food didn't live up to the pricing. If I came back, it would probably be for drinks, appetizers, and the ambiance rather than a full Italian dinner.

Even knowing it's a calorie bomb, I couldn't resist dipping it in more. Baccala Mantecato: Classic Venetian flavor. The salted cod was tender and delicate, almost like a light foam, somewhere between raw silk and mousse; the dark bread was simple yet not coarse, perfectly balancing the saltiness of the cod. The most surprising thing was the refreshing aroma of celery leaves that emerged in the aftertaste, lingering and persistent. Lumache: When looking at the menu, seeing "chili butter, Jonah crab, breadcrumb," I never expected such a distinct citric acidity. The subtle acidity was gently enveloped in the fatty aroma of chili butter, perfectly complementing the umami and sweetness of the crab meat with just the right amount of spiciness. The lumache were firm and chewy, the sauce rich and smooth, and the breadcrumbs light and crisp, creating a rich and distinct texture. The portion was generous; even after microwaved the next day, the sauce had naturally broken down and the lemon's tartness had dissipated, but the noodles mixed with chili oil still had a unique flavor. Tiramisu: Highly renowned, and the staff were quite confident. The surface was covered with a thick layer of crispy cocoa nibs, the cake itself is incredibly soft and moist, and digging inside reveals an "underground river" of coffee liquid, while its bitterness was perfectly balanced by the sweet Marsala. The scallops were incredible, and I loved that they served it with root vegetable chips instead of the typical tortilla chips. Sweet potato chips added such a unique flavor and texture. Absolutely delicious! For dinner, I had the sumac-crusted tuna with haricots and assorted vegetables, and it was fantastic. The tuna was flavorful, beautifully prepared, and paired perfectly with the vegetables. Between the food, the atmosphere, the energy, and especially the knowledgeable and attentive service, Row 34 delivered a dining experience that I'll definitely remember. This is exactly the kind of restaurant that makes dining out feel like an experience rather than just a meal.

We went here as a group of 4 for dinner, and were all incredibly impressed with the food. A lot of different flavors that just explode in your mouth. Not your typical North End restaurant. The manager Patrick O'Malley was very professional and friendly.
