The best coffee and breakfast in Long Beach. I have tried them all in my time before work starts and the breakfast menu has so much quality i wish id have come here sooner. The parking bad especially only getting 30 min. But it has been more then worth the trouble. I would rate thier coffee as good or better then Recreational. Top top shelf. Well i been here before to get a iced coffee and they are good for that but decided to get a simple salad today i tried the mixed greens which is just tomato and red onions with a vinaigrette which is a balsamic vinegar i added avocado and got a small orange juice my total was $14 this will be my first and last time ordering lunch. Food is great, albeit very slow and VERY pricey. Still confused by the prices. Working in Long Beach temporarily which makes this a great place to grab a bite at lunch but the prices are more expensive than most places I go to in SF (where I live) so it's overall quite confusing. They also aren't the best at translating what you order into what you get. Consistency is not the strong point -- i.e. one day they tell me they have no balsamic vinegar, another day they say they only have oil, then the next day I get oil & vinegar. A little confusing. Nonetheless, my favorite lunch there is the Salmon and Avocado Salad (ask for some kind of dressing otherwise a bit dry) combined with the Heirloom Caprese Salad (none of them are quite enough individually if you are hungry). read more

Went here for the first time and wasn't impressed. I was actually looking for Trimina but saw this place. I ordered the Cubano which tasted like spicy mustard and pickles. I had to take the pickles off because that's pretty much what it tasted like besides the mustard. The Cafe Mocha was very bland and watery. This is a great little coffee place. People from my office come here often. They have better coffee than Starbucks down the street and fresh baked goods that taste great. The workers are also always super friendly and I just love the atmosphere of this place. It is cozy and welcoming. Also they don't use straws which I appreciate. read more

For a small cafe, this place has a great selection of pastries and sandwiches. If you love cookies, you should stop by and try their chocolate chip cookie. As an everyday coffee drinker, I stopped by this location to try their coffee. Customer service was amazing. My drink was prepared immediately and handed to me before I paid. I ordered a latte with almond milk and hazelnut. The drink was just the right temperature; hot enough to enjoy but not too hot for it to burn. I bought the smoked salmon avocado salad and paid $11.94 with tax. Hardly enough salmon and one slice of avocado cut to little pieces. Simply sad for the price. I wouldn't pay more than $6 dollars for this. You get 3 cherry tomatoes cut in half and you can literally count the think little salmon pieces. I've had better salad else where and a lot more. I love the coffee at this place and I actually come in often. The coffee the food....everything !!! Besides the girls working there :( They all looks so cute and sweet but most of them all seem to be quite stuck up and snooty! Never say thank you when I tip (I tip every time), barely smile and I've heard a couple of them make rude comments one directed at me and other directed at other people. It definitely seems like a certain type of look and attitude is hired here because it's clearly evident since all of them have a very similar look to each other! I work in the building and it's so great to have an upscale place like this where you can just drop in and get a great coffee or a lunch that's not crappy take out. People who work here are so great. Friendly, well-trained staff knows all the food on the menu, ask them questions about a sandwich or a scone or a juice and they know about it. (The pumpkin scone and the chicken pesto sandwich are awesome, btw.) The only cons: (1) a touch expensive to do more than once or twice a week. Bought half a dozen cookies or pastries for a last minute client visit in my office and it was damn near $30. They were lovely and tasted terrific but spendy. (2) I wish they were open past 3pm but I totally get why they close when they do. Love this place! So glad they're open. read more

I come here for espresso con panna in their cute little cups but I've also had their paninis. Veggie goat cheese and chicken goat cheese are solid choices. Today I caved and bought the Pumpkin Pie Chai latte. I noticed they use Torani syrup and I forget the other brand. I like that the latte is not overly sweet so they must be pumping just right. The food is pretty good, but a bit pricey. I mainly go here for the coffee. After you've had their coffee, you will be ruined. Unfortunately, they close after 3 pm, and if you want a coffee after that time, you will not be able to drink Starbucks down the block anymore. It's more expensive than the chain stores, but I'd probably pay twice as much for the quality. The cold brew is particularly good, and does not have that acidic lemon taste most other store-bought cold brews do. The outside area is nice to sit at and relax, although I haven't seen the fire pit lit up lately. Please come here if you work downtown so it doesn't close and leave me to the mervy of Starbucks of Kelly's coffee. They also have beer and wine. read more

My favorite veggie salad with goat cheese. It's amazing and a great portion for lunch. Yes it's a $10 salad but I think it's worth it. Also they have larger than average size cups for water which is a plus! You order at the counter and then they bring you your order. Lots of healthy snack options as well. Alright, I have to be honest, when they first move into our office building, I was like "The price seem very high." Well, I avoided this place like the plaque when it first arrived, but after time passed, I got stuck for lunch and needed to eat. I went down stairs and looked at the menu. I order the vegetarian eggplant panini (verdur) and a caramel mach coffee. Man, what the hell was I thinking when I avoided this place, that freakin sandwich was out of this world. Ok, second visit and time for a review! The Place: the building has been newly renovated, super cute Mad Men Feel all throughout and the cafe goes with. We have our offices here in the building so we are very happy to have such a fresh and trendy place to take our clients for coffee. The cafe obviously strives to set themselves apart from the so-called competition around here and they've done wonderfully -KUDOS! The patio is IDEAL in the mornings! just a gorgeous peaceful view! The staff is friendly and informative, kind to make suggestions and not rushing anyone to already know what they want, lucky for me because I read everything on the menu -TWICE before deciding! The Lattes: between my husband and I, so far we have thoroughly enjoyed the: "filthy Vanilla Chai Latte"/His, "Filthy Pumpkin Chai Latte"/ Mine, Vanilla Chai Latte/ Me Today! Oh My, Oh My, we like our Chai and I HAVE to say, So GOOD. SO VERY GOOD. I've spent quite a few "BUCKS" (hint hint) on other chai Lattes that were watery and and just not savory. Aroma Di Roma (ADR) has what is the creamiest most flavorful Chai Latte I've ever had. I was so pleased and savored every last drop. Now THAT, I am willing to spend the $3 on! (give or take some change) The Food: just had their sexy breakfast panini w/ bacon and SO GOOD! -can we just take a moment here to appreciate all the "filthy" "sexiness" going on at this place?! I am a morning person myself, but I'll bet that even if you AREN'T -the playful vibe here is bound to get you feeling more delicious before you even take your first sip. Just sayin. Back to the food, the panini was so yum and without the obvious huge slab of cheese that they could have added for a salty punch but would have had me sluggish and sleepy by 9am. Nope, not this panini. they opted for flavor from Fresh tomato, basil, olive oil. I mean, complex flavors that complimented each other so well AND still felt light and refreshing. Fuelled me up for my Thursday morning. Was it cheap -NAH! $10 about, but my husband and I split it and I'd say the panini was about twice the size of the hot sandwiches I've had at my beloved starbucks so... again, you're either willing to spend that or you're not. -no judgement. ^_^ Looking over the menu, I'm really thrilled to have a refreshing new option to get away from the basic SUB places I'm surrounded by down here! (don't get me wrong, Mike's way and a Coke gets me through a long day for sure!) but somedays, a girl needs some heirloom tomatoes, mozzarella and balsamic... mmmmm. So here's the thing, Aroma Di Roma seems to be trying to step it up and offer a little more 'fancy' -dare I say 'sexy'?-to your weekday and I'm thankful for that. I'm so happy I found this place. It's tucked away on the first floor of the building, and the sign is not huge, so I probably walked right by them hundreds of times and never knew they were there. They have a ton of speciality drinks that sound delicious! Today I went with the Caramel Machiavelli and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be heading back to try one of their sandwiches for lunch sometime soon, and perhaps grab a cold beer as well! read more
