After hearing great things about this place, I took my family here for a birthday celebration. The owners and employees are toisanese and very friendly. For a party of 4, we ordered 7 dishes. After questioning if the rectangular table for 4 could fit everything, the waitress moved us to the inside room which was nicely decorated for large parties with fancy napkins and all. The food came out in huge portions and good flavor. The toisanese cauliflower had great wok hei! The fresh pineapples in the sweet and sour pork were so refreshing. The French style beef were tender. The salted fish fried rice had big chunks of salted fish. Everything was good. The pork belly with preserved veggies dish had good meat but the flavor was a little off (too much dark soy sauce, not enough sugar), but it wasn't bad, just could be better. We got complimentary mango pudding for dessert. The waitress accommodated our cake and even helped light the candles. Overall, this is a new family favorite! I always come here to eat or take out breakfast meals. January 8, 2026 I stop by around 1030am, saw a waiter was smoking his cigarette at the front entrance door. He finished his cigarette and walked inside and touch all the utensils chopsticks on the table without washing his hands. I immediately left without buying breakfast. Due to sanitary issue, I called the restaurant and told the lady cashier. Dont understand why he smoke during working hour? Can he wait for his break and smoke at somewhere else or back door? This was the old Vietnam house restaurant but now a Cantonese restaurant and it's very tasty. Seating is tight so come early. It's a no frills place with good food. After placing your order it's swiftly delivered to you and you'll be fine in no time and leave a happy camper. I really enjoyed the cha siu and the sweet and sour pork with fresh pineapples. The greens were great and so was the tofu variety. I'd definitely come back to dine or takeout in the future. Still one of the best Cantonese restaurants in SG Valley. The quality and taste of their dishes remain consistent. There is a deli area inside where one can buy char shiu, roast pork and such. I love that the food is not greasy. My new favorites are the egg tofu mushroom and beef chow fun which has the wok hei taste! A huge shout out to the gentleman (manager?), the same one I mentioned in my prior review. He is always working hard to provide exceptional service. He is never without a smile. This is my new go to place for HK style BBQ. I've been here four times now and enjoyed my meal each time. The first two times here we did a bigger dinner (party of 7). We ordered walnut shrimp, sweet and sour fish, garlic bok choy, black pepper filet mignon and chow mein. The best things we had here were the BBQ dishes. Their roast duck was (in my humble opinion) one of the best in the area. Sometimes when you order roast duck at other places, you don't get much meat. Here, each time we ordered it the duck had a lot of meat on it. The roast pork was also amazing. It was very tender with just the right amount of fat. Also, the skin was crispy, but not chewy. Finally the BBQ pork was also amazing. The meat was tender, juicy and very flavorful. If you're not going for a big dinner, I suggest trying their won ton noodle soups. I've had the won ton noodle soup with both bbq pork and beef stew and they were both very good. Their won tons are pretty big and tasty. My dad is an old school Chinese man who used to work in the restaurant business, so he's always got something to say about everywhere we go out to eat. However, he didn't have anything negative to say about Auntie Kitchen. He really likes this place and has recently become a regular. Another new player in the Cantonese BBQ market, I drove by one night and saw the new place and stopped for roasted pork belly and char siu to go. Eating it at home made me come back to dine in person for lunch and they are getting added to me and my friends' regular rotation. The roast pork and char siu are excellent, I have also enjoyed classic home style dishes here such as stir fried cauliflower with preserved ham and xiaoxing wine, as well as a salted fish and pork patty which requires a lot of labour to beat and mix in order to get the meat texture bouncy. This place has limited seating and most large seatings were accommodated in a cramped space on the side of the main entry where they had four large round tables to accommodate groups of 8-12, or more comfortably 8-10 max per table. Service was friendly and courteous. All the food we ordered was okay, not great and there weren't any items that were worth raving about. Introduction: I first heard about this place from my best friend who says the dishes that are served here and the quality of their culinary execution are good. As a result, I decided to visit the establishment on multiple occasions. Food: Steamed Minced Pork with Salted Fish Rice: The first time I had their Steamed Minced Pork with Salted Fish it was very good: the texture of the steamed minced pork patty was bouncy as can be expected from a steamed minced pork patty that was properly made. By properly made I meant the chef actually took the time and effort to beat/slap the meat paste of the minced pork patty during its making process. When the restaurant just opened not too long ago, the patrons could hear the chef pounding and slapping the meat paste in the kitchen; however, as time went by, the chef stopped putting in the work and the steamed minced pork patty became different from what it used to be. The texture was no longer bouncy and hence it doesn't taste right even though the flavor(s) may be good. Egg Tofu with Mushrooms: I liked the egg tofu here: the texture of the tofu was wholesome, silky, and very smooth. It fulfilled all the criteria of how egg tofu should taste. Service: The manager of the establishment, Ken, is a great guy. Every time I came here he was friendly, nice, and courteous; he always greeted me properly and tried his best to make me feel welcomed whenever I visited. For that I am appreciative and grateful. Ambiance: Casual Price: Reasonable Overall: The flavors of the dishes here are good and legitimate; the only issue I take with this place is the fact the quality of their culinary execution is not consistent. There's a guy with a tie on, the manager? The lady taking orders at the cash register and filling orders. There's a guy who looks like the waiter and food runner. The manager looked at me and I said just one. He said give me a minute. Others walk in and said how many in their party and the waiter seats them. Another group comes in while there are others standing around waiting to order our pickup their order. The party that walked in was shown to a table. Do you not have a number or ticket system? With limited parking and without having to be rude, I highly doubt I will come back. The same food that you can order here you could order at any Chinese cafe for the same price or less. I ordered for take out. Service is fine at the order counter. They have Chinese BbQ available and that seems to be popular among the people ordering for take out but we didn't try the bbq today. We ordered a couple entree's here - french beef, pork hand with tofu skin, and seafood chow mein (fried noodles). The food here is tastier than that of phoenix inn and delicious food corner. Pricing is on point - cheaper or comparable to these quick Chinese bites places. I would say they give fairly decent portions and the food is well seasoned and not too oily. Raised pork belly is a bit sweet to my taste but the meat is super tender and juicy. Roasted duck is a bit salty but the skin is very crispy while the house chicken is tender and flavorful. I think this is their 3rd location in the SGV. I use to frequent the El Monte location so it is nice to see them expand closer to home for me. Small place but very solid! Came for dinner on Christmas. Staff was very cordial. I can tell that they are close knit just from their interactions with each other (we were the only customers). We got a plate of roast pig and the skin was perfectly crisp and the meat was nice and juicy. Only note is that it was very room temp, wish it was a bit hotter. The green beans were not on the menu, however the staff said they could make the dish for us. $12.99 I believe? We were surprised it wasn't on the menu since it was pretty good! Green beans could've been in the wok for a tad longer but the toppings they put in were quite generous. Biggest letdown was the braised beef intestines dish we ordered (don't know the English name, sorry!) but my parents were unimpressed by the flavor that they said was too heavy on the black bean sauce, plus the dish came out room temp to us again... maybe even close to just cold haha. Surprised to receive mango pudding as dessert! Overall the prices here are very fair compared to most Chinese restaurants nowadays. We've been going to Mama's Lu for over 5 years and the service and food has been on a downward spiral. We came across Auntie Kitchen and lets just say it was a blessing to have found this place. Great food along with great courteous service are what we have been experiencing here at Auntie Kitchen. I am pleasantly surprised with the portion size considering the quality ingredients they use and not charging the customers more. Tried this place after looking for somewhere new with Cantonese BBQ. I ordered beef chow fun and 3/4 pound of roast pork to take out. The chow fun was very good with a large portion. The noodles were soft and the flavor just right. The roast pork was just ok. I didn't order the pork belly but maybe should have. The piece they cut for me was a little chewy and the skin was not as crisp as other BBQ places. The flavor was good but some pieces were tough. I'll need to try other items on their menu.
