So I've been to this establishment twice now. Overall the decor and ambiance is nice. Personally I think the food is pretty bland especially for how expensive it is. I had the steak the first time, and it was cooked to perfection but it tasted like cardboard. I had tacos de papas with steak the second time and those were pretty good but the steak bites were hard, overcooked, burnt, and gross. The drinks are very sweet and overpriced. The first time I went there was a party of 6 of us and we easily spent over 1K in total on dinner and drinks. We mainly paid for the atmosphere, not for the food or service in my opinion. I think this place is good if you just want to party, but not if you actually want to have a nice dinner. Plus they turn the music on while dinner is still going and turn it up extremely loud! Maybe wait until it actually turns into the nightlife scene before putting on blaring music while people are trying to enjoy their overpriced food. Understaffed for a holiday weekend. Went for brunch and they had one server for the entire place. He was doing his best, friendly guy trying to serve like 10 tables at once. The hostess should have been more welcoming and useful to the staff. She could have informed costumers upfront that it was understaffed and the wait time to get food would take FOREVER (like an hour). People were visibly getting hangry. Also, the table that we got seated had shoe prints on seats, sticky floor, and big chunks of broken glass on the floor where our feet go. Luckily we did not get injured but definitely a HUGE SAFTEY CONCERN - When brought up to hostess she seemed annoyed. Anyways... food was okay. Nothing special. Place looks beautiful. Probably best to go for the club part of it. Wouldn't recommend brunch time unless you want to end up hangry. read more

We had a reservation that included a high chair. When all our party arrived we let them know at check in & they said our hostess would come get us. She came and walked us to the table. Not only when we not all seated before she proceeded to let us know they had a 2 hour limit but the high chair was nowhere in sight. When I asked about it she said "oh we had one but someone else is using it" am I to believe the whole restaurant only has ONE high chair?! Few minutes later she brought out a high chair from the kitchen and it did not even have a strap. It was ripped and tied to the side so my toddler wasn't even secured. When our waiter came he took our drinks order. Brought them out and we let him know we were ready to order only to be told he had to take another's table order first? Hmm ok? Once he took our order he was nowhere to be found again. Not to offer refills on drinks or order more alcoholic beverages. We were able to flag down another waiter just to be told with attitude once they came back to let OUR waiter know next time. Umm if we knew where we had gone we would have flagged him down instead. Long story short no one got any refills on their beverages, no one checked on our party the whole time we ate no nothing. And since our party was a party of 9 including toddlers we were charged the gratuity included in our bill but we literally received horrible service. I went to Ay Mi Pa to celebrate my birthday. The aesthetic of the restaurant was amazing and so beautiful. The service was great as well but you need to keep in mind making a reservation with time since it does get pretty busy. They had a wonderful selection of Mexican dishes. They had choices of sushi as well. They had a menu for special birthday celebrations which was my favorite part! The restaurant as a whole was amazing. read more

My experience at this place was very unpleasant. The service was poor, the food had no taste at all. We finished dinner and it took about an hour for them to bring us the bill. I asked the waiter if they could sing "Happy Birthday" to my wife, he said yes, but they never did. My babies ordered hamburgers without cheese and they brought it with cheese, we were told they would bring them new ones without cheese, but they were the same; they had just removed the cheese. We noticed because there were still cheese pieces on them. Finally, they charged us an 18% service fee on the bill, which was absurd given the bad service we received! I was at this place celebrating a welcoming for my friend and this family next to me were celebrating about their son going to college and how he just got out of highschool and can't wait for them to see where the future leads for their son. I thought nothing of it until i seen server coming up to him with a sign and with 5 shots of tequila on a tray. So if he just got out of highschool that would mean he just turned 18. That is publicly underage drinking and how irresponsible for this restaurant to not ask for id's before handing out 5 shots of tequila to an 18 year old. This just shows that this restaurant doesn't know how to handle their business and how willing they will be to give 5 shots of tequila to a teenager for money. Then once they were done doing that celebration, the man that was holding up the sign HIT me with the sign. We had a reservation arrived 10 minutes early, our group didn't get seating almost 30 minutes later after 8:30pm. The waiter came over and began with asking what drinks we were having. Drinks came out slow and at different times, I never received my drink after sitting there for an hour. After an hour and a half the waiter swung by and asked if we wanted more drinks. I had to stop him and say the group has been waiting to order food. Food came out after 10pm all random times and mixing up people orders. I ordered a tiger roll it was ok the tempura was so hard it scratched the roof of my mouth. This place is not a restaurant this is a club with extreme loud music and bad service. Tonight some friends, my husband, and I tried out Ay Mi Pa for the first time. We arrived first and as I was speaking to the hostess, I glanced over her shoulder and noticed a couple in a booth behind her. This couple had a dog with them. The dog was sitting on the booth seat, with its head all over the table, and the woman was feeding her dog off her plate with a fork. I mentioned this to the hostess as a "ew, gross" type comment and she giggled and said she knew, someone had already told her. The couple then proceed to allow the dog to lick each of their plates clean. Whaaaa! I know some people do this at home (ew, also gross), and I might halfway expect it at a McDonalds off Union...but this is happening at this $30 plus per plate restaurant? And the restaurant is allowing it because the hostess definitely already knew. So no thanks. I don't want to sit at a table a dog just slobbered all over, or have my table wiped up with the same rag the dog table got wiped up with. Or, eat off the same plates and utensils a dog licked clean first. Would have definitely turned around and left if it was just my husband and I for dinner. So me and my fiancé were doing a little shopping when we decided to hop in. Let me start with saying the place is beautiful! They did a great job with that so much that we felt extremely under dressed as we were just wearing shorts and shirts. The food was pretty okay, $20 for a small cup of street corn was a little crazy tbh. Went to have dinner with friends, big mistake! The food was tiny and disgusting. Couldn't finish my plate, it was that bad. The service was horrible, takes forever to sit down and order. We ordered our main dishes and it took almost 40 minutes. One of my friends ordered the steak special that comes with two drinks. Never got the drinks!! We had to flag a waiter down and explain to them and even then it took another 15 minutes to get the drinks. The place is very nice. Came here early during the day with my husband and they seated us right away, but didn't tell us there was only one server. It took about 45 min to get our appetizer after asking. The appetizer was okay but the service was poor. The server was very nice but he obviously couldn't handle the entire resteraunt on his own. We canceled the rest of our order. The people next to us had waited an hour and a half for their food. We refused to wait that long. This place did not disappoint! From the food to the service and to the music they played (it was a bit too loud but overall great music choice tonight). I honestly had low expectations of this place. Our table ordered the shrimp empanadas and tacos de papas for the appetizers, 10/10!!! So bomb. Their agua fresca de fresa was too sweet so 2/10 I didn't even finish it. I ordered the vampiro tacos, the meat had too much fat but I was able to remove them and they were a lot more enjoyable so 7/10. I love the celebration packages they offer. Definitely worth it and affordable! I got the $150 package which comes with the led sign, dessert platter (2 chocolate cakes, churros, and 2 ice cream cones), and a bottle of rose. They gave us champagne glasses for 7 of us to cheers for my friends birthday and I loved the energy of the staff that brought out the platter, sign, and bottle to almost every table that night including ours lol! Made the experience so much more enjoyable. The place gets lit at night and turns into a lounge/ club. Loved the music choice but it does get hard to hear. Our waitress was also very sweet and patient with our table of 7 and a toddler. I didn't catch her name but she had black hair, red lipstick, and spoke mostly in Spanish :) oh and the hostess girls were also very nice and accommodated our request to get a bigger table since we only anticipated 6 of us coming. read more

The food is good with typical price for going out. It is a very fun atmosphere inside with good music for sure. All the people that work there are super nice and fun. The only 2 thing that I feel like is expensive is those party packages that they do for you. Definitely will not do one of those again. That was a lot of money for the little show that they do. This lady charged us $120 of tip like really and they don't even put it as tip they put it as SVC. I get we were a group of 8 but damn homegirl. They're trying to have all the hype like what LA has, but we are not LA prices here yet. The atmosphere of this place was truly disturbing. While the food was decent, the service was another story; our server appeared to be intoxicated, and the bartenders were no better. It felt like a scene from a poorly made spring break comedy. We waited at least twenty minutes for attention from the bartenders, who were embarrassingly unprofessional. One bartender wore sunglasses at night, another had his shirt unbuttoned to his navel, and the third was dressed in a ridiculous outfit w/ a fedora of sorts. Our first bartender poured Buchanan's scotch down his throat before slamming the bottle on the bar. When we requested three double Tito's and sodas, we ended up with six cocktails instead. The other bartender was preoccupied, flirting with any girl who showed him attention. Having managed bars and clubs in San Francisco and San Diego, I can confidently say that this staff would have been fired in any reputable establishment. The crowd felt rough around the edges, raising safety concerns. It's clear that management needs to address why this place is being allowed to operate in such a chaotic manner. I would visit maybe during lunch or brunch. Sunday night is tragic. read more

we came here for my sisters 21st birthday brunch (table of 8). at first our waitress (zayra j) was very attentive to take our order but after we all got our food and drinks we could hardly find her. i had to share a water with my boyfriend because no one came around to refill mine. when i got my sushi they did not have chopsticks. not a big deal but its weird to eat sushi w a fork (personally). after we all finished eating she was no where to be found for us to pay so we had to call another server over to call her to our table. once she finally came to give us our bill, she said she could only do one check since our party was bigger than 6. this was absolutely ridiculous to us as we just saw the table right next to us (table of at least 12+) split their check in 4. i've also came here in the past with a table of 14 and split the bill in 4 no problem. the worst experience i've ever had with a server and on top of this 18% SVC was mandatory. i don't know if ill ever come back just because how terrible the service was. the restaurant wasn't even busy. read more
