Just tried their salads for a to go dinner. Mine was great lots of greens! I'll be short since salads are one of those foods s that the overall build needs to appeal to the individual. They have a great selection of Salads. I like salads I make at home but I don't build a ton of elaborate salads usually pretty simple and straight forward. So, for a selection of various salads built with different tastes, give them a try! We all enjoyed our respective salad! And, I'll be doing it again soon! The service has improved since we last came 8months ago, BUT, and it's a big but, the only person that seemed to keeping the dining room and kitchen running was the bartender (I think). He has curly hair, goatee, and runes tattooed on his right forearm. He was super friendly and helpful. I overheard him figuring out what was wrong with another table's order, and he went back to the kitchen and didn't come back out until he had their correct order. Hire 3 more of him, and the service would match the food quality. All the other servers were just kinda floating; they were there, but they didn't really do anything. read more

Very friendly and efficient service from the time we were greeted at the front door. Excellent innovative menu choices that stretch the boundaries of traditional Italian offerings. We found the prices to be quite moderate in this day and age. My one and only very minor suggestion would pertain to the olive oil and balsamic vinegar that is served with the delicious focaccia bread prior to your meal being served. I love me some Babbo! My biggest problem here is that I want to order one of everything. I honestly haven't had anything I don't like. Pasta, pizza, salads and drinks are all phenomenal and the quality is great. It's kinda sexy inside if you are looking for a cozy date place but they also have a private room with a tv for parties. We used to frequent this restaurant before COVID. It was our weekly "go to" one. The staff is what a restaurant is all about ..so enjoyed our meals back then.. But since that time, they have reorganized and have new management..and the staff leaves much to be desired. As she brought the drinks out, The waitress spilled water on my husband and had nothing to wipe it up with, so we used the cheap napkin and had to ask for more..which she never brought. We finally had to go to the Restroom to get paper towels. It was like she disappeared into thin air... When we finally saw her again...We asked about the "bread and oil/vinegar dipping sauce" they used to serve, and was told they do not offer it until you place your order..OK, so we placed the order and the bread never came until after we were half way thru the meal. There were three of us and we all had left overs..then asked for a box and was given ONE.. We had to ask again ..and she only brought one more. SOOOO we had to ask a 3rd time !!. what is wrong with the servers these days. We were so disappointed and disgusted that we will NEVER return and will let everyone know NOT TO GO HERE also. Called this place to ask about a potential reservation for Valentine's Day. The lady who answered chuckled when I asked if I could get a reservation for two and said they only do parties of 6 for reservations. I say "okay, if I got there around 4:30-5pm would you guys be terribly busy?" And she's literally laughing and in the most condescending tone says "yes. It will be busy, it is Valentine's Day." I understand it may have been a silly question for somebody who works at a restaurant but I was just trying to plan out a date. What a great place for dinner. First, we had an excellent server, Jay, who made our delicious meal even better. We had some wonderful dishes. My husband had the lasagna. It was plentiful and worth the wait. My friends had spaghetti and the Brussels sprouts salad. They loved the salad. It was tossed perfectly. I was going to just have meatballs but Jay suggested I get the meatballs with the zucchini noodles as I don't eat pasta. It was amazing and made my night. Jay came by to check with us and always made sure we had enough water and bread. He was attentive and had a warm personality. The food was okay. The menu is massive and I don't know why they keep lemons in pasta, they were not cooked and tough. I suggest you add lemon juice and take the quartered lemons out of the pasta sauce. There was an elderly couple sitting behind us. When they left she dropped a napkin on the floor by the bar. The hostess passed it 10 times and didn't pick it up while cleaning off the tables. All of the Servers and the manager walked past it in the middle of the walkway. In my previous job as a manager of a restaurant, we were always told if you leave garbage around where the customer area, that usually tells you something about the kitchen... Lazy, clean it up! I came here for Father's Day with a friend of mine. The ambiance was nice. The staff was nice and the restaurant was clean. I had the jambalaya which was amazing, which had big portions. My friend also enjoyed his food. Because of COVID19, you have to wear your mask upon entry, but once you sit down....the masks can come off. Good spot. read more

We just ate dinner tonight at Babbos in Suprise on Bell. I ordered a build your own bowl with brown rice and red quinoa. When my food came with the others there was no Quinoa on the plate, only rice that looked sticky and wet. I explained this wasnt what I ordered to the runner, (not waiter) and they said they would remake my plate, since 1/2 of the plate was correct I asked them to just bring me the correct rice and quinoa on a seperate plate. This was all seperated on a plate not a bowl. As my wife and son finished their meals, and I had already eaten the other items on the plate, the waiter came back (approx 15 minutes later). I explained that the rice and quinoa was not correct and the person never brought the rice and quinoa like I had asked for 15 mins prior when it was delivered. He quickly said we are out of quinoa. I was suprised as I was not told this when I ordered it and told him I would have ordered something else. I only ate 1/2 my plate, and was not offered any other food option. He came back later with the check and advised the manager Joanne had disounted my meal due to the incorrect oreder with no quinoa. I looked at the check and saw the discount of $1.32. I was insulted by this, and to not have the manager swing by the table to make it right made it worse. I also left hungry. On the way out I spoke to the waiter and asked for the managers name. He did not see to me concerned. I advised I would be writing a review of my service. Here is the service I exected: 1. tell me you dont have the food when I order it 2. If I tell you its wrong and you say your going to remake the side and bring it out, then do it 3. if you can see I was not happy, send the manager to my table 4. offer me something else to eat since my meal was not correct. 5.if your going to offer my a discount for compensation, dont insult me. I called the restaurant and they said they'd either make us a new one, which we'd have to pick up, or I'd have to contact Uber Eats for a refund. Well, the reason I used Uber Eats wasn't out of laziness. I legitimately could not leave my house at the time, so picking up a new pizza was not an option. I haven't been able to reach anyone at Uber Eats, so I'm literally out $25. Pretty sad that Babbo couldn't do more to rectify the situation. Why. Just why. Why, in 2019, are there still restaurants without vegan offerings. SMH No vegan indicators on the menu. No vegan protein options. We ordered the roasted Brussels sprouts beet salad with NO CHEESE and it of course came with cheese and had to be re-made. Salad was ok but not anything I would want to return for. We also ordered the Pasta Primavera with marinara instead of white wine garlic butter sauce. Did not specify that we did not want cheese and the entree was not listed as having cheese on it but guess what!?!? It came with a ton of Parmesan cheese on top. Yes it had to be re-made. No it was not worth waiting for. Not vegan friendly at all and I will not be back. No compensation for having to wait another 10 minutes while the rest of our party ate their food. Babbo is clean and inviting, but I found the menu offputting. It's very new age, all about the pasta, fresh vegetables, and sauces... with a little meat thrown in here and there as what feels like a grudging concession to the unenlightened. Don't come looking for the classic Italian warhorses like veal parmigiana, chicken cacciatore, or saltimbocca... instead, you can "add a (dash of) protein" to any of the dishes above, if you can't do without. Or try the eggplant parmigiana, it's better for you! Even their lunch Italian Sub is high on the white meats and short on the spicier Italian cuts. The meal was well executed for what it was, and the service was friendly and prompt. If you're into the high-veg, high carb, non-keto fare, by all means, try it. But I prefer the dishes my Italian momma used to cook. read more

My first time here. Service was fantastic at the go where I was greeted and seated quickly. Most of the booths were occupied and there was a large group outside, so that was a good sign. I ordered some wine a small salad and the sausage/pasta dish. I also was given some delicious bread/olive oil. As I was enjoying my food, there were many folks who arrived to pick up their orders (another great sign). Portions are extremely generous (had to take some home for lunch). But to be honest, when she saw what was going on, I would say she was extra attentive. I did a couple cokes in a row to get my blood sugar up. She brought us three or four. It wasn't busy for a Friday night. I didn't see the manager walking around greeting anyone asking how things were, that is always one of the best signs of trying to keep the standard high. Food: it was a good drink menu had a nice bar inside. I eat mainly plant-based. And there was such a variety of things I could pick from and each thing I could pick from had such unique flavors. They have an option to build your own bowl with different starches veggies. I don't usually eat the bread but damn it was good. I only had half my meal because of all the bread and Coke I had to eat. The leftovers were just as good the second day. My wife got some kind of chicken and beet vegetable thing. I tasted the chicken so moist. If you're getting plant-based you definitely have to go here. I was here a few weeks ago with a few friends of mine who had never been to Babbo's before. I had and truth be told, I hadn't been back in quite a few years. As where the ambience of the restaurant was nice and the service was good, the food was much to be desired. Italian restaurants in my locale are usually a hit and miss. Usually really good or really bad. I had a pasta dish that was totally flavorless. It wasn't inedible but it sounded much better than it actually was. Another of my friends had scampi. While in Surprise, we faced the very unexpected heat of AZ. I was absolutely not prepared in the slightest for how intense the summertime heat is there, and it definitely affected our ability to be motivated to go anywhere. That is how we found Babbo. Babbo was the closest restaurant to us that was air conditioned and served alcoholic drinks, and that was enough to give it a try. The location was very convenient off the main thoroughfare in downtown, and the parking lot was well lit and full of plenty free parking spaces. Once inside, I was getting the feeling it was at one time maybe a Cheesecake Factory or a PF Chang's, it had a very similar atmosphere to it. We were seated promptly, and were pretty impressed with the menu at first blush. To start, we ordered the moz balls, and were given starter bread to get our tummies going. Drinks were next on the list, so I tried their aperol spritz and mom got a strawberry mojito. The moz balls were very underwhelming, and the drinks were overly sweet and seemed really watered down. For dinner, I opted for the creamy mushroom pasta and mom ordered the red sauce over zucchini "zoodles." The problem with zoodles, is if they are done wrong, the heat from the sauce causes the water from the zucchini to seep out and turn your sauce into a swimming wet mess. My pasta was really heavy and bland, despite me adding asparagus and sundried tomatoes. The best part of this experience was the service. Our waitress was super friendly, warm and accommodating, and was prompt and attentive during our meal. Neither of us finished our entrees, or our drinks, which I think should have been something she should have asked about, but that was my only constructive feedback about the service. Prices are very low, but I also believe the quality of the food and general taste of the food is about equal to the low cost. Service is great, but it can't quite make up for the flop of the food and drinks. Would definitely go elsewhere if I returned to the Surprise area. read more

We were greeted with the infamous bread (all-you-can-eat) with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.2 of us ordered the Parmesan Chicken Pasta. It has Crispy Chicken, Marinara, Melted Mozzarella. Served on Linguine. One order of Pasta Valducci. Artichokes, Kalamata Olives, Sun Dried Tomatoes, and Garlic, in a Pink Sauce. Served on Penne. Finally an order of 1/2 Sandwich & Petite Salad. The Sausage & Peppers sandwich. We all enjoyed our meals. Good size portions. My only critique is the price for lunch. Almost $24 with a tip for lunch. We could make going to Babbo's a habit! Have gone two Sundays in a row. Adore the roasted brussels beet salad and I don't even like beets or brussel sprouts but this salad is so good.
