    JW Chicken Al Forno

That eight year wait for the JW Chicken Al Forno was absolutely worth it. Great service, great food and great company.

I really liked the atmosphere here and great service and he was a bit standard Italian little pricey. The meatball app was good too, but only one meatball even though it was big for $28...tried their classic chicken dish which was good but I prefer my chicken a little better cooked. Not something I would probably re-order though the potatoes were delicious as was the pasta with pepper corns. Definitely above average

This restaurant really surprised me. I've been to many restaurants in the city and have don't often see a space this large and with this much open space. While normal for long islanders and other non city people, the beautifully decorated area was a welcome sight after spending all day in an office. The food delivered as well. I ordered the duck option and confidently say it is some of the best duck I have had. The sauce wasn't too sweet, and the skin almost had this crispiness to it that was delectable. The side order of potatoes is well worth it, served in a unique extra crunchy manner. Service was the only non perfect thing about this place. While not necessarily bad I wouldn't say we had a great experience either. Waters and drinks were left empty for a while with no one asking and food took a long time to come out. Overall it's enough for me to knock down a star but I still really enjoyed Barbuto and would go back.

Omg this might be one of my fav restaurant experiences I've had this year. Food was amazing, service was great, and the ambiance!!!!!!!! The slight breeze from the Hudson River, the light and airy seating area, the rustic chic ambiance-- chefs kiss. - Kale salad: 1000000000/10 (best salad I've eaten this year periodt) - Pizza: 100/10 (ok wasn't really expecting the pizza to be amazing but... truly amazing. Sad it was so small though) - Chicken: 100/10 (omg truly the juiciest and best cooked chicken I've had in a whileeee. Chicken is not dry at all and the herbs are really seeped into the chicken, making it super flavorful) - Gnocchi: 7/10 (honestly kinda underwhelmed. Wasn't too sure if the green bean(?) worked well with the gnocchi) - Limoncello sprit: 8/10 (refreshing and perf for the summer) I already recommended Barbuto to like ALL my friends. This might be my go to restaurant for a nice summer night.

Chicken - incredible. Salsa verde amazing. I don't typically love squash but the kubota squash was unreal with a sort of lebneh ricotta type cheese.

Finding the threads of beauty in New York City can be the stuff of adventure -- Barbuto answered the call this night. Having just shaved my beard, I relished the irony of seeking this place out. The contrast of of the dimly lit warehouse-y feel after strolling through the neighborhood-y West Village would have been jarring were I not immediately seated at a candlelit table with a breathtaking view of the Hudson. That's when I told the waiter that I wanted to go "full Waxman." (well half Waxman). Waxman's kale salad was tempting but the calamari and shrimp salad were calling me. A mix of texture -- crunchy greens, threads of soft cheese and perfectly fried shellfish made the salad a delight. Then came the chicken -- the saltiness of the salsa verde hit me like a pesto in a good way and was a wondeful complement to the crispy skin and juicy chicken. I usually never order chicken in restaurants but the medley was worth it. Service was on par - not pushy but very attentive. Memorable night. Thanks Barbuto team!

I could not recommend the Chef's Table experience at Barbuto more. I'm a bit of a picky eater, so normally I'm a bit nervous about family style tasting menus where I don't get to select what I'm eating. They brought us out SO many things and I was obsessed with each and every single dish. That literally never happens for me. The tasting menu seems a bit pricey ($100 per person) but when you consider where you are and the huge amount of food you receive it's absolutely worth the price. The meal starts out with an appetizer course, which could really be an entire meal in itself. Meatballs, pesto pizza, olives and focaccia and some delicious salads like kale cesar and radicchio with mushrooms. For mains we were served bucatini amatriciana, gnocchi, roasted cauliflower, crispy parm potatoes, sweet potatoes, frittata and an herb roasted chicken. Everything was 10 out of 10, but my highlight dishes were pastas and the salads. On top of it all, ALLL of this food was per four guests. So for our. party of eight we had duplicates of every single dish. It's an insane amount of food in the best way possible. Service is on point and they kept our red wine flowing all night long. The meal ended with the most delicious pumpkin roll which paired perfectly with an espresso martini. For a special occasion holiday lunch this is the perfect pick. There are so many restaurants around (and of course, Barbuto has their regular menu) but the Chef's Table experience was elevated and an amazing way to treat yourself and indulge. Just note that for the experience you'll need a minimum of 7 guests!

This restaurant always delivers consistently great food whenever I'm In NYC. My client and I dined like royalty on a perfect summer evening on Horatio Street. The only constructive suggestion (after having just read Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara ) is that it wouldn't kill the Barbuto staff to pay attention when patrons frequent your establishment from Dallas on the regular with clients / the restaurant was not busy and no management stopped by to see how our dinner was & the server had zero personality - which was disappointing as the staff brings the dining experience to life in my opinion.

Was able to make last minute weeknight dinner reservations 24 hours in advance, which was a HUGE lifesaver. JW does it again in the new space. Luckily had a group of 4 so we were able to sample a bunch from the menu. Started with meatball and the insalata di cavolo. Meatball was large but quite pricey for one piece. Salad was reminiscent of the best pizzeria caesar salad you ever had. Brought the group here for the chicken salsa verde and the potatoes. Unbeatable combination. Not usually a dessert person but made sure to save room for 1/2 the dessert menu. Not to be skipped!

The menu has plenty of variety across pastas, seafood, and cocktails, with some unique dishes that made the experience memorable. The drinks were a highlight, and the seafood options stood out the most for me. My Tipsy Tayke: The Fragola Fizz was juicy, fruity, and refreshing. The Forever Summer was another standout, with the smokiness of the mezcal blending really well with the fruit flavors without overpowering them. Both are easy recommendations depending on whether you want something fruity or a little more complex. My Taysty Tayke: Get Down & Dirty, Expeditiously: Seafood Ravioli Unique, flavorful, and packed with different seafood flavors. The ravioli itself was delicate and had a tendency to fall apart, but the flavor made up for it. Standout: Calamari Crispy, seasoned, and enjoyable. It had a slightly chewy texture, but I still found myself going back for more. The Carpaccio wasn't necessarily for me texture-wise, but I really enjoyed the greens and dressing that accompanied it. The garnish felt intentional and helped bring the dish together. The Pappardelle came with plenty of sauce but could have used more flavor overall. The complimentary bread was also tougher and chewier than I prefer. Desserts: The Lemon Sorbet was easily my favorite dessert. Bright, refreshing, and packed with real lemon flavor. The Mango Sorbet was another refreshing option with a smooth tropical sweetness. The Panna Cotta Cheesecake leaned closer to a mousse in texture and was definitely on the sweeter side. I especially enjoyed it with the cherry, which helped balance everything out. Service: Warm and attentive throughout the meal, fitting the inviting atmosphere. Plates From My Visit: Calamari Carpaccio Seafood Ravioli Pappardelle Lemon Sorbet Mango Sorbet Panna Cotta Cheesecake Fragola Fizz Forever Summer In Conclusion: A warm Chelsea Italian spot with strong cocktails, unique seafood dishes, and refreshing desserts. The Seafood Ravioli was the highlight of the savory side, but whatever you do, save room for that Lemon Sorbet. Stamped by Elajas

This was enough for both of us as we got a couple servings of the house bread. We then got to our main courses. While she got her seafood, I got the TORTINO DI MELANZANE. It didn't look like a big serving from the outside, but there was plenty of cheese to make it filling. All in all, very yummy food and we were done in about an hour. Can't expect anything more.

When we entered the restaurant and took the elevator up to the restaurant, we were delighted to find free wine provided for us to pour in the elevator. Admittedly, it was red wine, so not my favorite, and it did taste cheap, but still appreciated. To start off, we ordered the onion torta, focaccia, and smashed potatoes. The onion torta was surprisingly good and tasted like a form of french onion soup. As a focaccia enthusiast, the focaccia was fluffy and delicious. We also got the charred beans, carrots, ravioli, tagliatelle, ravioli, and trout to share. The charred beans were surprisingly the long beans and not the smaller ones we expected. However, they were very juicy and better than we thought they would be. The rigatoni resembled cacio e pepe with its pepperiness, the tagliatelle tasted like standard red sauce, but i did enjoy the ravioli and the ricotta inside. For dessert, we had the basque cheesecake which was alright, but I'm not the biggest fan of cheesecake. Overall, we had a great time at Ci Siamo and I would definitely recommend ordering the focaccia and onion torta and we could have skipped the carrots, beans, trout, and tagliatelle.

Instinctively I took a piece of that in to my mouth first and was met with the most rancid tasting cheese ever. The cheese was definitely not fresh and had a terrible smell on the outside. I moved this to the side to try the pasta which was honestly forgettable. There simply was not enough basil pesto in the dish, the sauce fell flat on taste and seasoning was nearly absent. The side of broccoli rabe was also so bad and forgettable. The stems were tough to chew, there was no salt and not a single speck of garlic in this dish. This is one of the priciest, grossest plates of pasta and vegetables I have ever had in the city. My friend ordered the eggs Florentine and said it was A-okay. The interior was completely packed, and the noise level was high enough for my smart watch to complain. To sample a bit of everything, we shared two orders of focaccia, four pastas, and one dessert. HOUSE-MADE FOCACCIA - 10 Super bouncy with a bit of chew, this was probably the best focaccia I've ever eaten. It came generously drizzled with olive oil and alongside chopped peppers drenched in even more olive oil, which added a nice little kick. We highly recommend starting with this. TAGLIATELLE - 27 Out of the four pastas, this was my absolute favorite. I love the thin yet chewy texture of the tagliatelle, and the bolognese sauce was rich and hearty. Finished with just the right amount of Parmigiano, both the pasta texture and sauce were sheer perfection. PICI 'CACIO E PEPE' - 23 This was such a simple pasta, yet so delicious. It was incredibly creamy and cheesy, with hints of fresh black pepper flavor that blew standard at-home black pepper grinders out of the water. Despite it being the simplest pasta of the night, I enjoyed it immensely. RIGATONI - 32 This pasta was simple yet slightly innovative, featuring sausage paired with a broccoli-based pesto. There was a slight bitterness that was polarizing among our group. While this wasn't my favorite pasta, I appreciated the creativity. PERCIATELLI NERO - 35 This dish packed in more components than just pasta and sauce: plenty of crab, tomatoes, and crispy breadcrumbs on top. However, the combination wasn't very memorable. None of the flavors really stood out, and it was my least favorite pasta of the night. OLIVE OIL CAKE - 14 Served with a pile of golden raisins and fancy whipped cream, this ended up being a bit of a miss. The raisins were a bit too sweet, and the cake's texture was uneven -- some bites were soft and moist, while others felt dry. A couple of others in my group also felt the same way. Overall, I'd give L'Artusi a 4.5/5; it was mostly hits with a couple of misses. The pasta portions are quite small. Since each dish is primarily carbs and sauce, I'd imagine you'll likely need an appetizer or a pasta and a half to leave full. Still, I'd definitely come back for the focaccia, tagliatelle, and the cacio e pepe.
