This place is more than a kimpbap place. They have tteokbokki (떡볶이), fishcake skewers, udon, dumplings, noodles, etc... Very friendly lady at the register. Cute little place to meet friends. Not to seat around for long time since the bench style chairs do not have cushion. Need to make mental note to bring my own cushion next time.
I came here with my parents on a Friday! The lady working the front is the sweetest. I also love that you're able to grab prepackaged things while you wait in line to order. It's a pretty small restaurant but about 5-6 small parties of 2-4 people will be able to find seating. Everything came out fresh and hot! We got the kimchi fried rice and the teokbokki. It was so flavorful. The rice cakes were so soft and chewy. The sauce was a perfect balance too. I would definitely recommend if you're in the area and craving Korean food!
Hidden gem! This adorable mom and pop Korean spot is perfect for a quick grab-and-go meal or a casual dine-in. The menu is packed with great options--kimbap, noodles, tteokbokki, and more. We ended up getting the bulgogi kimbap and sweet potatoes for the little ones, and everything hit the spot. The kimbap was fresh, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. Definitely a place we'll be coming back to!
Cute little spot with plenty of gimbaps and banchans to make your bellies full. The shop itself is small so seatiings are tight so mainly people do take outs but you can dine in if there are seats available. Their gimbaps selection was good, giving you options to do singles or combos with noodles or tteokbokkis. We decided to grab a few of their banchans (which are pre-packaged for takeouts), original tteokbooki and spicy pork gimbap - they were all yummy! Would definitely return to try their other selections. Service: 5/5 Parking: 4/5 (can be tight since the area is small) Price: 4/5 (banchan is a bit pricy but the quality makes up for the pricing) Food: 5/5
Very chic look and great place for some Gimbap. The place in a small plaza so parking can be a hit or miss. Clean and spacious and well organized shop. Self service on to go upon entrance to for available. There is a menu or highly call in for order so you will be guaranteed to have what you want. When we went, it almost noon so not much left but still good for quick snacks for the road. They do have dine in area and you can ordered and paid ahead of time. The place is pleasantly quite nice. Service is nice and quick. The foods are quite tasty and very goods, love it. The bottle of juice(s) are very refreshing and just deliahtful. Prices can be on the high end side but so worth it.
There are quite a few places selling kimbap and banchan in the area, but I keep going back to Baro Gimbap for a few items. My favorite is a newer menu item here, yuksu bulgogi. I also really enjoy the mini egg kimbap, spicy tuna kimbap, perilla oil noodles, and sashimi rice bowl. Note that before 9 am they only have kimbap and whatever banchan they have in the fridge area; you have to come after 9 am to order noodles. Expect a 10-15 min wait for most hot food orders. The interior is small but clean. I usually just get my food to go, but there are a few tables inside for those who would like to dine in.
I wouldn't have known this place if it were not for a friend of mine. They recommended the fish cake soup and their kimbap. I've had my share of both items and still have yet to find a place to beat the local restaurant by my area. First off this place is clean and freezing inside! You walk in and all the variety of kimbaps are along the left wall with various shelved items (perilla leave oil, sesame oil, dried anchovies, etc..) To your right are the tables and an area where you put your trays back. Why am I tipping again if I put my trays back? Nope, were not in Covid days anymore, sorry but no. I've worked in the Food & Beverage business and I get it, but if I didn't serve you or clean up after you and come around to ask I d you ned anything I don't think I will get a tip. That's just my opinion. Now if you're really friendly and you still didn't serve me or wait on me then maybe. But not this time homey. Back to the food...The fishcake as good, the broth I could careless about. But it's very important for the broth to be tasty you may say. Why yes it is! That's true, but sometime the fishcake is enough. In this case it was enough for me to say okay, I like it. Would I come here for fishcake? Answer is no. The soup is light and you can still taste the raddish but it's not to the point where you can get juggy just with the soup. Sorry, but the fishcake inside H-mart has more flavor. IYKYK!! Kimbap, I ordered the egg one. Boy was that the most plainest kimbap I've ever tasted. I knew I should have tried the bulgolgi one. I also tried the combo one and it was the same. There was no flavor. I had to dip it in the soy sauce. The kimbaps needed sesame flavor in them!! To each their own I guess. Come give it a try and lemme know what you think. I'm curious if it's just a one off day here.
Really big portions and great flavor. The service is great and the selection pretty decent. We did come a bit later, and they were limited in their selection of kimbap, but we found the egg kimbap that we got to be flavorful and well wrapped. The store itself is located in a small strip mall off Orangethorpe but is super cute inside and out. We'll be back for sure!
Since there's a great variety of premade food, service was very fast and friendly. We also ordered hot dishes which were delicious - everything was fresh. Clean shop with limited seating, would not recommend for large parties (5+). Parking is limited due to the plaza. Portions are a bit small for the price point but would definitely visit again!
Delicious kimbap and kalguksu (knife cut noodles)! They have premade kimbap if you want to take your order to go and there's dine-in options as well. My favorite is their tuna kimbap and egg. My husband tried their kalguksu (knife cut noodles) and the broth and noodles were very good. The kimbap prices are a bit on the higher end, but I can tell that they use delicious and quality ingredients. Credit cards are accepted. Parking is a bit limited because it's in a small lot
This is a cozy restaurant that is perfect for families to come to and friends to hang out in. The food is amazing, affordable, and presented beautifully. The service is fantastic as well... Oy feels like home, honestly speaking. I will take that this is family owned as the staff is like your mom making you home-cooked meals... With love and patience.

My wife found this spot last week thru Instagram and we decided to find out the foods early today. First, tough to park the car, some parking spots only for 30 mins for pick up only, most of spots were taken. It was early morning 9:30 Saturday for brunch, I noticed many customers picked up the foods, looked so busy. We picked 2 kimbops, anchovy and fish cakes. I ordered pork cutlet. I liked all the foods but my pick was cutlet. Crunchy!! The sauce was well balanced w cutlets, even kimbops. My wife is always concerened about the service. She didn't like their service. Unfriendly, unwelcoming!! Well, we discovered a new Korean kimbop, snack restaurant near our home. I expect more friendly service at the cashier next time. The parking is not easy there. Too busy, tiny....many 30 mins only spots. How can you park to dine in??? The business opens at 8, close at 8. This is a great point for the customers who need to eat early morning. Overall the quality of foods are good. Variety of kimbops, tempura, ddeokbokki, and noodles....some side dishes you can buy. Hopefully the service is friendly and more customers are happy to eat there. read more

This small little Korean restaurant (I actually want to call it more a Cafe since it has cafe vibe with small but clean tables with good music). Their selection of Kimbaps huge from basic to fusion like spicy anchovy or Korean BBQ. Prices are reasonable and offer some other Korean boonsik menu like udon, tempura and stuff. They even have the Kimball platter that are humongous that is good for company potluck lunch or gift, just need to order in advance. Plus they got some house made Banchan and products from Korea as well. Try this place and you will find at least one thing you would like to buy or eat!! read more

I was really impressed with their gimbap. The set in the photo is Gimbap Part box 2, the $70 option with the two egg gimbap. It may sound pricey for gimbap but the quality, portion, and presentation made it feel worth it. The gimbap tasted fresh and premium, and it is honestly one of the best kimbap sets I have had. I would definitely go back for it. I also tried a couple of banchan on the side, including the salted squid and chili pepper, and both were very good. One important tip is that the gimbap set menus should be ordered ahead of time. The lady there was kind enough to accommodate us with about 30 minutes notice, but they usually prefer a few hours or even a day of advance notice. This place feels more like a casual Korean snack and takeout spot than a full sit down restaurant. Parking can be tricky because of the coin laundry next door. Overall, excellent quality gimbap and a place I would return to. read more

LOVE this place. I first learned about this place when someone else brought it to another party I went to. It was so pretty the party box! Mom and pop, small little place but super cute and modern. Super tasty gimbap, they have side dishes that you can grab and go. This time, I ordered the party tray. They didn't have any English translation of what the party tray entails so I called hoping to get some help but, nobody was able to help me. lol. Old grandmas and aunties back there hustling and putting things together so you know it's legit! I ended up having a friend translate so I ended up ordering the party tray #2. My friend said it included roasted anchovy, a marinated brown root, smoked bulgogi, tuna, and Korean sausage. Party #1 and #2 are similar. #3 party tray has Yubu pockets with sweet vinegar rice. #4 has pork bulgogi instead of beef bulgogi like 1-3. Their party trays are great for parties and they are so beautiful! Everyone enjoyed it, there was something for everyone and everyone loved it and complimented on it! I also I got a container of marinated quail eggs. Delicious as well! read more
Amazing! I ordered a box 3 and the they were so accommodating, small shop locally owned. The people running the shop are doing the best they can. If you're ordering a party box - highly recommend ordering 1 day before out of respect for their time. I bought this set for Friendsmas and everyone loved it/ were so impressed! Cute restaurant that has been opened for just under a year. The inside is very adorable and they're featured in a Korean news station! The food was delicious. I really liked all the Kimbap we ordered, and if I were to rank them it would be 1. Bugolgi 2. Tuna 3. Veggie 4. Spicy pork The bugolgi had this smokiness that I didn't expect but enjoyed a lot. The tuna was very surprising on how good it was. So it caught me off guard. The veggie was stuffed with so much in it that it was so worth it and filling. The spicy pork ranked 4th for me, but it was still very good. I could eat that all day. The owner was very welcoming and playful with us. She was sweet, and I hope that this restaurant gets the shine it deserves. The food is great. The prices are good (in this economy). And the staff is so nice. read more
i love the egg kimbap, it's very fulfilling, the bulgogi kimbap is a little dry but my friend loves it!! our fav is tokbokki , it's not too spicy but still have enough heat to it, very worth it for the price u pay. the lady was really nice to us when checking us out as well! the shop is a small space, cozy and suitable for a quick lunch or just to-go (which we did) read more

Was hangry for some breakfast noodle soup and saw that the place was open early at 8am. I get there shortly after open time and impressed with first look upon walk in. Place was small but well lit and clean. Order area offers small retail store/display offering some Korean banchan and ingredients. Menu board posted on the wall offers large variety of kimbop along with some Korean comfort food. Noodle selection and various rice dishes sounded delish! So far so good! Then I come to order what I wanted but told kitchen doesn't open until 9am. ?!?!?! The cashier/staff didn't seem apologetic at all, instead was annoyed I wanted kitchen food. Even some of the kimbop were not available until 9am. For the first hour of open, it's very very limited kimbop selection. Would've been nice to have such warning posted outside, on menus, on website, yelp, google, anywhere! I would've come at 9am had I know they serve their menus at 9. For now I ordered some kimbop to go to try it out. I'd give this place slightly lower than 4 overall but was close enough to 4. Ratings per category: Restaurant appeal - 5 Packaging/presentation - 5 Value - 5 Food Quality - 4 (really packed carrots and spinach in the kimbop for volume enhancement - I would've preferred smaller kimbop with less of the two) Misc - 1 (false ad of open hours!) Service - 2 (server attitude seemed annoyed with me coming so early. And asking for food they don't serve yet. It was totally my fault for coming in only 30 min after open) Recommendation to the owner: Have separate business hours like many restaurants that have onsite shop. Baro kimbap has premade kimbaps for grab and go. Very efficient. You can pick out your kimbaps and also order entrees or noodles if you wish. We only tried the kimbaps for breakfast. $6 each for Odeng and gobo kimbap. In this economy, this is such a good deal. Biggest thing for kimbap is the rice to vegetable ratio and baro does it very well. I'd definitely come back here for the kimbaps! Located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking. read more

I'm familiar with Baro Gimbap from their LA location. This place is known for their Gimbap (Kimbap) where the outer layer is made with a thin layer of egg "crepe" covering everything including the seaweed. You walk up to the counter with whatever you pick up that are premade, or you can order from their menu. Their ingredients are very fresh and they sell premade banchan too. Although they're a Kimbap place, they have various noodles and other items you can order as well. It's a cozy store (more than a restaurant) and the service depends on who's working and how busy they are. Sometimes, they'll bring the food to your table and sometimes you need to go pick it up at the counter. They're also a bit on the pricier side for what you get. The best item that I like is the fried stuffed peppers. P. S. I really hope the tables and the benches were a bit larger and more comfortable. read more
I am so happy I found this place!! I was on the way home from work and starving. I remembered this place is close by on my way home and Kimbap is a great quick bite. Upon entering, the place is very clean, open, organized, and aesthetic. There were a lot of kimbap options, I decided on the bulgogi kimbap. Pricing and taste were 5/5. The ingredients tasted fresh and light. I thought the place had only kimbap and sides but there was a whole extensive menu to try and you can even order party platters! I'll be back to try more on the menu and to try more of their quick bites! read more
Service was great from the start, you walk in and there was plenty of things in the frig that you could buy like kimchi/quail eggs/radish. You order at the counter. Small spot with 4-6 tables. They had many Gimbap options which I loved. They had combos with rice cakes or spicy ramen. Place was super clean, price was really good for the amount you were getting. Tried out a small kimbap spot with my sister and it was such a cute little place. Not many tables, but the owner was super sweet. She had ready-to-go sides and a good variety of kimbap to choose from. The balance of rice, veggies, and meat was honestly perfect--everything tasted really fresh and flavorful. She also offers party boxes, which are a little pricey, but honestly... that's expected nowadays. read more

Such a cute little gimbap and banchan spot! There is a lot of options to choose from, to pre made meals and to eat there, fresh and hot. I just grabbed a few gimbap, spam and the bulgogi. The lady working was really nice that had a welcoming, warming charm. They also had the fish skewers! Felt like I was walking on the streets on Korea It's their grand opening! Had lunch on a Monday. It was not at all crowded, with maybe with two tables seated. There was an uncleaned table but the rest were clean. We ordered the spicy pork kimbap , yubu chobap (the inari ) and teo oden. The kimbap was precooked and on the shelf bur the yubu had to be freshly made along with the oden. Oden and the soup was pretty good, the broth had a peppery taste so had a slight kick. The yubuchobap came out pretty warm, the rice inside was a little too salty - i think since they had to freshly prepare, they overdid the seasoning. The kimbap, is great - and i love that I don't have to go all the way to ktown Galleria to get some. They only have lukewarm complimentary water which was a slight bummer for the random 90degree hot day in March. But they do sell soft drinks. I probably will come back to try their other food, like the kkomak bibimbap (cockle) or the bibim jjolmyun, the cold noodles. read more

Meet up here with a friend after work for some tasty Korean Kimbap and I was not disappointed! We were looking for something on the healthier side and Baro Kimbap was the perfect option! Overall, the kimbap was big and stuff with so much food inside! Perfect ratio between fillings (veggies and protein) and rice! I can taste all the flavors working so well together. As a big guy, I def can get full of just one roll of kimbap! I would go back to try other types of kimbap!! What we ordered: Tuna Kimbap - not my go-to protein for kimbap, but I was feeling for some tuna mayo flavor that day. It was so good and def got my tuna craving satisfied! Bulgogi Kimbap - my friend order the Bulgogi Kimbap, so I got to try a piece of her! There amount of beef inside were very generous! Love the sweet and savory bulgogi flavor! Odeng Soup - the soup was good! Pair well with the kimbap! Vibe: The Korean lady who took our order was super nice! There were so many options to choose from, so it took us a while to decide. The foods are quite ordinary, not really standing out. The prices are pretty average too. It's similar to many other Korean restaurants. They don't have a serving process, you order and pay right away. The place is clean, but one downside is they don't have a restroom available for customers. read more
Came here with my girlfriend. She was craving kimbap! She said this was a newer location for a kimbap business in ktown. The kimbap was incredible. Fresh seaweed, crisp rice, delicious and perfectly pickled vegetables. It was hard to stop! They have more sit down options as well so will definitely have to come back! Nice small cozy sit down area if you're eating there with nice wooden interior design. Definitely recommend if you love kimbap! read more

Finally decent Korean street food place around. This place is aesthetically satisfying and also the food was very satisfying. I love kimbob with noodles ! I tried egg kimbob and jjomyun. Seasoning was bit too much (salty). They also have yubu (inari) with topping on top but seems like it is very limited. they cook in the morning and once it is out of stock. that's it. So exciting to welcome new businesses in the area! This is a wonderful spot to pop into for Gimbap rolls. There is plenty of choices ready on the counter for you to choose from as well as seating if you choose to have you quick meal here. They accept card/Apple Pay as well! I ordered 4 different rolls and they were delicious and tasted low in sodium. Perfect for what I was looking for. Service was friendly. Plaza is in a questionable area but the establishment itself is very nice inside. read more

Disappointed and Unsatisfied - Not Returning I've given this location more than one chance, hoping the first experience was just an off day. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. Compared to the original Los Angeles location, the quality here is significantly very lacking. The gimbap, which is supposed to the specialty here in particular, has been consistently underwhelming--both in portion size and fillings. For example, the spicy anchovies were nearly nonexistent. (Please refer to attached photos for reference.) Even more disappointing was the response from management. When concerns were brought up to her, the staff was neither understanding nor accommodating. For the premium pricing, this level of service and quality is simply unacceptable. Frankly, I could prepare something comparable at home for a fraction of the cost--and I just might start doing that more often now. Sadly, I won't be returning to this location, and I feel compelled to share this experience so others can make an informed decision. ; ( read more
serving korean street food in a more elevated setting, the interior at this restaurant was very peaceful and clean. it was a pretty small place but good for a nice lunch. they had great gimbap but their other dishes i felt were just okay. however, i did like that they had lunch specials! Tteokbokki with "dumbbells"? (김말이) these spicy rice cakes were a bit too watery in texture for my preference, and on the sweeter side rather than spicy. not my favorite but also just not how i like my tteokbokki personally. the gim-mari was fried to perfect with chewy glass noodles inside. would definitely get this side again! Gimbap + Ramen Combo this place offered combos with choice of a fish cake or burdock gimbap and a selection of noodles, rice cakes or fish cake soup. honestly more expensive than it's worth imo, but the gimbap but delicious and i liked how they added a lot of veggies to the ramen. however, the broth was too watery and not spicy for my taste, but the noodles were cooked well. read more
Baro Gimbap reminds me of food shops in Seoul. It has wonderful and tasty food that can be taken to go and for dine in as well. After a day at Disneyland, I like to swing by Baro Gimbap to pickup my dinner or a snack since I just don't always want to cook. I like that the store has a variety of banchan (pickled and marinated vegetables) that go so well with the gimbap. So far, I've had the gobo gimbap (5/5), the small fish gimbap (4/5) and the egg gimbap (4/5). I only just noticed they serve noodle dishes so I'll probably give those a try on my next visit. While the food served here isn't fancy, it's perfect. Homestyle food, executed with care, and delicious. Love it! Service here is so friendly and sweet. They package up the food very well and take great care by wrapping up the banchan separately so it doesn't accidentally spill into the food. It's these little things that make a big difference. Parking is usually not a problem. It's a busy little strip mall especially with the nearby laundromat. There are always a flow of patrons visiting this shop for dine in and a lot of to-go. On a recent visit, I saw tons of bento boxes ready for pickup. So I think that's a very good sign. I wish something like Baro Gimbap existed near my place. I think I'd eat here a few times week.
