No one informed me how long the wait would be, and the employees seemed to be working without any sense of responsibility or awareness

A couple of days ago, I stopped by to buy a single roll of kimbap. There were a few customers ahead of me, so I expected a short wait -- but I ended up standing there for about 15 minutes with no update or acknowledgement from the staff. No one informed me how long the wait would be, and the employees seemed to be working without any sense of responsibility or awareness of the customers waiting. After 15 minutes, I decided to leave without purchasing, and honestly, I don't plan to return. The lack of courtesy and basic customer service was disappointing. Even if someone is only buying one item, they still deserve respect and communication. If you're considering kimbap in the area, I recommend going to Ga Ju Kimbap instead -- they offer much better service and overall experience.

Great little fast food shop in the Galleria Groceries in KTown. They have all kinds of treat here. My favorite is the Hwe Dol Bap (sashimi salad) and the taegu kimbop (spicy cuttlefish sushi). They also have freshly made Inari Sushi with tons of great toppings. Reasonable prices and good service!

I came here to get kimbap to-go, but the cashier didn't greet me or say anything, just circled the tip section silently, which felt rude. Even when I said "thank you," there was no response. On my way home, I started eating and found a piece of egg with strange blue and orange spots that looked like fungus (photo attached). It didn't feel safe to eat, and I lost my appetite. I will not be returning.

Pretty decent place to grab and go kimbap while at the koreatown galleria. No complaints. Not super expensive. This roll we got to share was $6 and we were satisfied with the purchase (it's in the supermarket by the way!)

This is our go to spot for getting a $130 sushi box for the Thanksgiving. Delicious and convenient. I wish they had a larger box option.

I highly recommend this place, whether you're looking for a delicious lunch or hoping to impress guests at an event. The food is not only full of flavor, but the presentation is stunning, and the service is top-notch. My American friends were thrilled to explore the variety of flavors, and I've yet to find a kimbap spot that does it as well as this one!

I've eaten at this place on many occasions. When i want a simple & quick lunch/dinner, I just drop by and buy a kimbap and other items. The place has all the products already made ahead of time and you can simply grab the product and pay at the register. Its super convenient, no waiting unless you order rolls or something of that sort! The food thats good and is a hearty korean meal! The kimbap is perfect with any hot soups! Overall, its a good place to try!

Ok, so I see either super positive or super negative ratings for this place. Most of the negs are due to poor customer services, including greetings and communications. I've been using this place along with many other places to purchase lunch for my crew & friends. Please understand that MANY, if not MOST of the low paying employees here do not speak fluent English. Some, very little at all, so they tend to shy away. you might be asking why employee these workers? Because there are NOT too many people who speaks fluent English working for minimum wage. Also, the is Korean supermarket, mostly used by Koreans. So, many of the inside vendors do not want to pay $25/hr for someone who speaks good English. If you keep that in mind, I would say this place deserve 4-stars. It's not super cheap, nor expensive. Just basic Korean rolls & shushi at reasonable price. If you want super nice services, then go to a sushi restaurant and pay 3X more.

I do wish that for this large plate they gave us more cabbage. We ended up ordering more for $5 but I think it should be included given the amount of meat. Parking was valet and it's a small lot. You line up outside to wait and the turnover is usually fairly fast. They will take your order as you wait in line so by the time you're seated, you're not waiting forever for your food. My go to is their spicy seafood kalguksu, which contains plenty of seafood and always hits the spot. I've also had their chicken and clam ones as well, which are both super flavorful. I enjoy the squash and potatoes that they put in their noodles though sometimes the potato is less mushy/cooked through than what I prefer. The portion sizes are generous so definitely come hungry or you can share as well. I've tried their bossam and jowl combo as well and both are definitely great in their own way, but I absolutely love the minced garlic sauce that comes with the jowl. The jowl is a fattier cut while the bossam is meatier.

I really wanted authentic Korean food that was not kbbq and not tofu and this place delivered! This restaurant is in a small strip mall. The strip mall has other Korean food options. They have a valet parking system of sorts but we didn't pay, we self parked. The attendant told us we were fine. It was approx 9pm when we arrived and also a week night. I have no idea how much valet parking is here. We were a small party of two. Upon arrival, we were notified they were out of RICE. Um..what?? That's a good problem (for them to have) but not for consumers. I feel this really limited our options to just soup. I honestly didn't want soup but there wasn't much else we could order. The bowls were large and came out piping hot. It was a satisfying meal and not too heavy. The price point was on the pricey side. Our waiter told us business has not been the same post covid. Some dishes are between $40-$60. I asked for a soup and they were able to make it less spicy. My friend got a soup with dumplings in it. He put a good amount of soy sauce to give the broth some life. Also, the banchan is on point. We asked for a refill and devoured the second portions. If you wanna impress friends with Korean food, bring them here! Its a casual place.

Restaurant was half empty and no Ike which surprised us on a Saturday night. Ordered some bossam and chungukjang and it didn't taste the same as it used to couple years ago. Not sure what the issue was but it lacked flavor. Also they were cleaning the kitchen while serving food which was kinda not sanitary with all the water splashing on the floor of the kitchen while they were making food. Overall it's not what it used to be and cleaning the kitchen while making and serving food is not a good combo.

If you ever had Korean Bibimbop, this is similar but with some minor differences. This one uses a barley rice base (compared to white rice in Bibimbop). The barley rice is topped your choice of about 15 different side dishes of lightly flavored savory mountain roots, greens, mushrooms, and peppers. Comes with a soy bean paste that you use to further season. Just mix everything in a larger bowl and serve. OMG. Absolutely incredible!!!!!!!!!! Before this main course, you do get three small bites (pumpkin porridge, scorched rice/tea, and tempura). Additionally three different sides are also served (acorn jelly salad, Korean escargot/snail dish, steamed cabbage), along with perilla chicken soup, and soy bean soup, the latter which is the most traditional Korean dish. Last for dessert you get red bean porridge, dried persimmon rolls, and plum tea. Nothing like this in all of SoCal. A must come and try for all.

First, this being in KTown, know parking is always a big issue. Parking is available in the back usually. If not, there is street parking. Once you come in, there's a good number of tables; high ceilings; and a nice vibe overall with some screens that are showing nature + some K-Pop. The wait staff is also usually pretty nice and are able to do a good job to describe the menu / what you're getting. Most likely, you're here to get the banchan $35 set - an amazing value for the amount of food you get. Noting that this set doesn't include meat which you can order on the side along with some other dishes. But you get nearly 30 mini dishes such as barley rice, pumpkin porridge, scorched rice soup, spinach salad, stir-fried chili peppers, rice kimchi, perilla chicken soup, acorn jelly salad, snail salad, and corn porridge. It's basically a riches of really good side dishes, centered around some delicious barley rice/sesame oil. You may find a few of the side dishes not to your style, but most people will most likely find something that you really enjoy. For instance, I think the acorn side salad is absolutely delicious and saucy while the seasoned soybean paste is full of flavor and perfect with the barley rice. For the pricing, it feels like a steal. And has been consistent ever since I first had it back a few years ago. We've taken to go boxes each time I've went because it's so filling. Totally recommended!

In fact, we regularly brought visitors here. They raved about how good the spare ribs were and even insisted that their last meal before LA should be at Ham Ji Park.  Here's my belated review of what I consider the best spare ribs in LA. From the moment the Korean-style spare ribs arrived at the table, it was clear this was a dish worth savoring. Each rib bore a beautifully charred exterior--deeply caramelized without a hint of bitterness--offering that irresistible smoky aroma the moment it was placed before us. The glaze was nothing short of spectacular. A perfect balance of sweet and spicy, it clung to the meat with a glossy sheen that promised flavor in every bite. There was just enough heat to make your taste buds sit up and pay attention, but it never overwhelmed the deeper, richer notes of the sweet components. But what truly set these ribs apart was the texture. Beneath the charred surface lay meat so tender it practically fell off the bone with the gentlest tug of a fork. Each bite was juicy and succulent, the result of careful cooking and a respect for quality ingredients. Ham Ji Park, you will be missed. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for the food.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
