I've been a fan of this location since their opening. It can be a hit or miss with service but the cookies are what matters. I was shopping at Jimbos next door and decided to stop by to see what was available. They don't accept cask and it's a simple ipad payment. Yes there is an automatic service charge plus a tip page that will show on the screen. I was lucky that the chocolate chip cookie was freshly baked and warm. I like how they gave it to me in a small box so it was easier to take home. The cookie had a nice crispy exterior. The interior was too creamy for me (I can't say if it was under baked?) as it was a bit wet. I'm a chocolate fiend so I loved all the chocolate morsels inside the cookie. It's a pricier option to get your cookie-fix but can be worth it when the cookies are right out the oven :)

Since we were in Del Mar already, my husband and i ventured into this Batch and Box as suggested by a very nice lady we spoke with while in the Plaza. OMG the goodness, sweetness, chunky cookies were to live for ! Each has its own quality and they were very good! I had the Oaty, the Pink lady, the Brown Butter Chocolate Chips and more! My husband and i cheated so much from our IF and i don't regret it at all! The young man serving us was so patient and suggested "why don't you just get half a dozen since you have four already?!" I said "why not?" You don't have to ask me twice! Their front table is adorned by the cookies available and you a first eye-view of the cookies that you are going to get! The aroma of the baked cookies permeated the store and it smelled so so good! I hope you take the time to check them out. Even though it's kind of pricey per cookie, the taste is worth the price! Stopped by Batch & Box Signature Cookies while walking around the Del Mar Highlands Town Center and it was a solid dessert stop. The shop is tucked into a quiet corner of the center and has a clean, cozy, slightly nostalgic feel to it. Everything looked well kept and inviting, and the cookie display definitely pulls you in. The cashier was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which always makes the experience better. We ordered the classic chocolate chip and the Dubai cookie. Both were really well done with soft centers, great texture, and not overly sweet. You can taste the quality of the ingredients, especially the chocolate. The Dubai cookie stood out with its richer, more indulgent flavor, but the classic chocolate chip was just as satisfying. An easy spot to pop into for a treat while shopping or to grab cookies to-go. Simple, quality cookies done right.

I love Batch & Box! I always go with the classic chocolate chip cookies, and they never disappoint. I've also tried their sugar cookie and snickerdoodle, which are both pretty tasty. The best part is how soft they are in the middle, with the perfect chew and a lightly crisp exterior. The service is always friendly, too. This location is in Del Mar Highlands Town Square, which makes it convenient when you're shopping and craving a sweet cookie treat. Another bonus is the ample parking.

Stopped by here during a post-dinner walk. I'm a cookie fiend, but have been let down at other SD cookie spots more than once due to their focus on style over taste and non-homemade, uniform consistency. Batch & Box stands out above the other cookie chains. The flavor combinations are interesting, you can taste fresh fruit and creative textural elements, and the cookies appear handmade. The cookie texture itself is somewhat odd - - thick, a bit dry in some spots and moist in others but at least it doesn't taste mass produced. The Pink Lady, featuring strawberry chunks and white chocolate swirls, was my favorite followed closely by the zany, marshmallow topped pumpkin chocolate chip cookie.

During a girls trip to San Diego, for a concert, we stopped to eat an early dinner before arriving at the venue. After leaving dinner, the group agreed we needed "just a little something sweet". Several in the group wanted ice cream, but I am a sucker for a warm gooey cookie and happened to see Batch & Box. I can pass up ice cream any time but not a good cookie. While I waited for my friends to order their ice cream, I watched a steady stream of customers go in and out of this cookie store. Although I had never heard of this place before, I could tell they are a big hit in this area. So I jumped in line and was so happy I did! It is hard to tell by looking at their cookies that they are soft and gooey inside because they are a thick and tall mound of a cookie. No thin, flat cookies here. But trust me, if you like a soft cookie with melting chocolate bits/chips/morsels this is a must get when in the area. I am a big fan of an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and their Oaty Chip is in my top 3 of all time. Despite its heaping mound of dough, this cookie is NOT raw inside. The rolled oats, dark chocolate morsels (not semi-sweet) and sea salt is decadent. Two of us shared this cookie and the sounds of delight coming from our mouths was almost inappropriate! We had melted dark chocolate all over our fingers and the cookie was so soft that I couldn't safely get my phone out to take a picture. I was not going to drop any cookie bits. Although the cookie experience did not last as long as my friend's ice cream, it was by far, the best sweet treat ever! My only complaint is there is not a Batch & Box in my area.

Old review: taken nov 2020 The doodle: Omg. This was amazing!!! I love the bits of cinnamon sugar morsels inside. Reminded me of apple pie without apples. The lady: I love the raspberry bits in this. Tastes like a raspberry cheesecake. Would taste better w dark chocolate imo. I'm biased though. The Julian: Amazing! Apple pie in a cookie!! Cinnamony and delicious. Pumpkin spice: Pretty good. The white choco chips are a little overpowering though The sugar cookie: The frosting tastes like cream cheese and overpowers the cookie. The cookie is nice and soft though. The wonder: It's good but I think I would like classic better. Cocoa PB: This was good but the peanut butter flavor is strong.

We got half a dozen for $25 and tried The Classic x2, The Doodle, The Oaty Chip, The Pink Lady, and The Sugar. All were tasty, thick, and chunky. Crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside and they don't skimp on ingredients! My favs were the Pink Lady, as you can really taste the strawberries and it was a good amount of sweetness, and the Doodle, a classic snickerdoodle that wasn't overly sweet. We came on a weekday evening and were in and out quickly. Cookies were still fresh and moist the day after.

Small, cute, and very clean cookie shop. The employee was super friendly and offered us samples. I ordered The Pink Lady cookie and it was delicious. Tried their new Dubai chocolate cookie. $2 more than a regular cookie. Rich, dense, lots of pistachio flavor. It was tasty and fun to try - but ultimately I think their regular chocolate chip cookie is more satisfying. Glad they had something new and I got to taste it; just doing the same old stuff all the time is boring. But the Classic is classic for a reason!

The cookies at Batch & Box delicious and gourmet. The gluten free chocolate chip cookie is soft, buttery, and stuffed to the max with chocolate chips. I appreciate that the gluten free cookies are wrapped separately to prevent cross contamination. The shop is small mostly used for pickup but is modern and clean. I do wish sometimes there would be a different flavor for the allergen friendly option because I'm jealous of all the other amazing flavors my husband gets to try!

I'm a little perplexed by the very high ratings because I think Batch and Box cookies are just okay. They're pretty pricey and EXTREMELY sweet. My family and I can barely stomach 1/2 of a cookie each before we feel like we've exceeded our daily sugar intake -- and I love my sweets. For those of you who know Levain, I think Levain's cookies are amazing and a tiny bit too sweet, but Batch and Box's are probably twice as sweet. I do like that the cookies come warm and soft, but sometimes the middle is a little too underbaked for my liking. Batch and Box is a fancy cookie joint with fun flavors, but in my opinion, they are not the best tasting cookies I've ever had. read more

I really love these cookies because they come fresh baked and warm!! They remind me of the famous Levain cookies in NYC!! I tried the Classic Chocolate Chip and the Nutty Classic with Walnuts. If I were you I'd avoid this place. They put off a weird vibe and the cookies are not that great. I got the vibe the first time I walked in a few months ago when i reached for my wallet to pay in cash and they got all afraid and huffy saying they don't take cash. So. Ok I pulled out a card and that was that. I was a bit taken aback but it was spring time and Covid is still a concern even though even months ago cash was proven to not be a virus exchange method. So in five months ago around 40% of the businesses had no issue with cash. Fast forward to today, it's June and we are essentially at yellow and Covid is all but vanquished at Del Mar Highlands. Well except for batch and box. I was walking my dogs and after about half mile in, I decided to go all the way to Batch and Box for one cookie, I didn't have my wallet with me but I had cash and I forgot about the last cash experience. See, I have a disability and walking is extremely painful right now and so braved a long walk and finally limped into the place, when just then I remembered oh no this is the weird no cash place! So I spoke from the door and explained my plight! I asked if they take cash yet. Nope! Then I asked can I get a cookie now and later drive back and Pay you the $3.50. Nope! Ok? So I can I give you $5 to hold for me and when I return you can give it back? No! Can I talk to the manager? So Out comes the manager and a crowd is starting to show up wondering What's going on. The manager is barely 18 and just says the same things over and over. No we do not trust you to return. We will not do you any favors, and you have to come back later. No exceptions period. Exasperated because after all we all live here and it's not cheap, a wonderful lady stepped in and said I'll buy it for you! So I gave her $5 and she bought me a cookie with her card! Now that's a real neighbor. My summation? This place is likely the last business in California to only take credit cards and has no resolution for those without one regardless of the reason. The owner Meg must either be clueless how to run a business or is a complete control freak. Anyhow do not go there unless you are prepared to put up with silliness and a bad neighbor attitude. read more

I'm not sure what others find amazing about these cookies. Actually, I do not even consider them in a category with a cookie but rather a blob of chips, which change with the name. All are under baked, and have a dense doughy taste. The take on snickerdoodles was just to throw in a bunch of cinnamon chips. The oatmeal blob had butterscotch chips and a handful of oats thrown in. The chocolate was brown with chips and the cool lime was a sugar cookie with a thick powdered sugar glaze, crumbs and a lime wedge. The only thing that gave it flavor was the lime wedge. The website toutes fresh, premium ingredients but does not give examples. I do not consider butter, eggs, sugar and flour to fall into that category. No mention of the types of chocolate used. The chips do not seem premium at all. I also did not taste any spices in any of the cookies, so I'm mot sure what premium spices are used. I just happened to have picked up some Prager Brother's shortbread cookies and that rendered the Batch cookies at the bottom. The last great cookie in SD was Blue Chip at Horton Plaza years ago. The chocolate cookie did not come close to B. Patisserie's chocolate cookie or their chocolate chip. There are great chocolate chip cookies with flavor, Sunset mag recipe (also the Doubltree) has a great flavorful cookie. None of the cookies we tried even came close to something I would ever try again. read more

Wasn't expecting to get cookies yesterday, but I'm so glad I did! I got the wonder cookie, which was so good! It's got chocolate chips, walnuts and coconut. It comes nice and warm so it took quite a bit of will power not to eat the whole thing when I got it! Staff was also super friendly and helpful. Literally the peanut butter cookie is off the CHART! The best I have ever tasted. Let's start with the crunchy outside edges, perfect color producing great flavor and texture! Next the softer inside of the cookie with a touch of warmth from the oven, than the bomb..... I think they spread peanut butter in the middle of the cookie or drop a spoon full layering inside the cookie, , genius! Lastly the large sugar crystals add another texture to close the deal.. I got a box of 6 cookies, because it's the best deal. But also, it gives you a chance to try more flavors. My favorites were the rose and the lady. I'm usually a chocolate chip girl, but the two colors surprised me. One had raspberry's and the other had strawberries. The tartness from the berries paired well with the chocolate. My husband loved the gentlemen and the Wally. Both are dark chocolate cookies which is his favorite. I'll definitely be back to grab a box the time I'm in the area! read more

Really nothing special. I got the gluten free chocolate chip and it was really salty and cold (it was also 4.00, as opposed to 3.50.) I was not impressed but decided to come back and try again with the regular chocolate chip. It was warm and gooey, but still salty. The taste was really nothing spectacular or special. I honestly love chocolate chip cookies & have tried many gourmet cookies but these were just regular over priced cookies. read more

Okay, I've read and heard that these cookies are among the best so, being a pastry chef who has worked for 2 cookie businesses, I thought I needed to see if I would like and/or be able to make anything close to these touted cookies. I bought the signature box and went home to try them out. The all chocolate one, which may be the gentleman...not 100% sure since the website doesn't list the cookies, or components. Anyways, the all chocolate one was very good....just chocolate and sugar, more chocolate, more cocoa, more sugar...okay, you get it. The other dark cocoa one was also good as were two others that had chocolate chips in them and were golden brown. Two of the golden brown cookies had combinations of spices in them and were not too sweet, were a bit undercooked in the middle, so I didn't get beyond one bite....just not for me. The problem for me is that I couldn't tell anyone what the names of the cookies I liked and didn't like were called as they have names, but the site doesn't define them clearly. If I could easily pick the ones I liked and order them I would again. I hope they do a bit of site updating and make it crystal clear as to what each cookie is called and it's defining components. read more

My favorite by far is the Pink Lady but I'm a sucker for Strawberry-flavor cookies. But I know some people don't like artificial strawberry flavor. My girlfriend likes the Nutty Classic and it did not disappoint! Gotta try it. read more

A-MAZ-ING! We stopped by on opening day and bought a box of 6, but never expected them to be this good. We had a plan to make them last a few days. Fast forward a few hours and they were all gone ‍ The Classic is their chocolate chip cookie, and it totally lives up to the name. There is a bunch of different flavours and styles, and every single one just tastes like heaven.
