The BBQ short ribs at BCD Tofu House on Western were excellent..tender, flavorful, and perfectly grilled. Really enjoyed them. Only downside was the service. After they dropped off the food, no one came back to check . I had to flag someone down because part of my rice was burnt and I needed a fresh serving. Overall good food, just wish the service matched it.

Didn't enjoy BCD the first time I had it a few years back, so decided to give it another shot... but unfortunately wasn't much better. Got the galbi entree (upwards of $30) which I usually like, but it was so excessively greasy here. There was a decent amount of meat but I couldn't finish because it was so heavy and unpleasantly coated in oil. I don't think I'll be back.

I love soon dubu so much that I had to come to this location after having been to the one on Wilshire last night. This time I had the vegetable version, which was delicious, especially the oyster mushrooms. This location has the same polite service, but is quieter and less upscale. There's parking and today, no waiting in line.

The food here was very delicious. I recommend eating their Soon Tofu soup. And the small side dishes do not disappoint. Service was efficient and quick. It does get crowded during lunch, but it's manageable. Expect a wait time of 20-30 minutes.

Appeared to be free parking on the lot, but wasn't sure so we parked on the street. It may be difficult to find street parking. We came at 4pm on a weekend and street parking wasn't too hard to find. The place was starting to get busy at 4pm. By 5pm there was a line. Got the C2 Bulgogi Combo Sliced Rib Eye with plain Seafood Tofu Soup for $29.49. The bulgogi was too sweet that we didn't finish it. The seafood tofu soup was alright. It had 1 shrimp, 2 tiny clams, and 1 mussel. Plain soup was really plain and had barely any flavor. We also go the C8 Yellow Corvina Combo with plain Beef Tofu Soup for $28.49. The yellow corvina was alright, it wasn't as salty as the small side fish. The beef tofu soup had slightly more flavor than the seafood soup. We also go another seafood tofu soup (S3) for $17.99, but mild spiciness. It wasn't spicy and added a bit more flavor. Overall, we felt the quality of the food was not good. The waiters were very fast in taking the order, dropping off the food, and giving us the check. There was a water girl who did refill our water cup frequently. Felt like an assembly line. If you want something fast, be in and out in an hour, then this is your place. Not ideal for talking as it gets loud and you feel rushed to eat fast.

Love BCD, especially their combo meals which I think are such amazing value! In my experience, this location is typically less crowded than the one on Wilshire, even though it's smaller. Got the Galbi combo with beef tofu soup (mild, which wasn't too spicy at all), which was a sufficient amount of food for 2 to share. The meal also came with a stone pot rice, banchan, and fried fish!

BCD in K town LA was packed with a 30 minute wait but it was well worth it. There is an iPad in the front of the store where you can leave your name and then a heated tent to keep you toasty while you wait outside. The side dishes (banchan) are always great, with a personalized fried fish and various types of marinated veggies, savory jelly, potato salad, and squid. The tofu stew combos allowed me to have both dumpling tofu stew and stone pot bibimbap! The stew was delicious with lots of small dumplings and beef inside. The bibimbap had lots of different veggies and the stone pot left the rice extra crispy at the bottom of the bowl. Service was very quick and it helps to speak Korean since all of the serving ladies were fluent in it. Definitely will be back for more next time.

Great, healthy food here! My family and I came in for lunch and we were seated immediately...even if the place was getting packed to the brim! The service was excellent (most especially from the ajummas who were always around to fuss over you). Our drink orders were taken while we perused over the menu (and we only had hot tea all around). I ordered a combo...Chicken Teriyaki, with mild Seafood Tofu soup. It was excellent! The banchan that accompanied our table was plentiful. The banchan alone would be enough to fill you up... The place is nicely decorated. And the table arrangement is done for efficiency of the food delivery, for guest and service staff access. Well lit and comfortable to the eyes, with decor that suits the place. The price is so reasonable with the amount of food that you get...especially of you order the combo. Parking is a little tight. If you're out for great Korean food, this is the place to be...

Girly night done right! HIGHLY recommend getting the spicy / non spicy bulgogi and mushroom bibimbap to accompany your tofu soups! Service was quick and very accommodating for how long we were in there. It's a pretty tight space inside but nonetheless a great vibe inside! :)

Came here for that OG BCD! Been a while but it's nostalgically experiential! A bit of a wait since it gets pretty busy! Love especially coming here at night! Reminds me of college! Service is nice and fast in spite of the busyness and the food was therapeutic! Had the soon tofu, crispy garlic tofu bites, and the galbi! You can never go wrong with this place! Great for groups! Lots of parking for a k-town spot in the area!

What seemed like a deceptively simple bowl was one of the most delicious and flavorful meals I've had - I'll be thinking about my bowl for a long time. I got the plain kalgaksu, mainly because it included pork potstickers. The anchovy broth isn't fishy (which I was concerned about), it's deep and full in a way that's hard to describe. It penetrates the noodles and potatoes well. The broth is similar if not the same between most bowl types. The cold noodles were also delicious, which a couple of my friends ordered. Quite large portions, as just about everyone had to take some home. They also have bibimbap if you're craving a rice based meal instead. I can't wait to come back - maybe not on a Saturday night next time so I don't have to look so long for parking!

I really wanted authentic Korean food that was not kbbq and not tofu and this place delivered! This restaurant is in a small strip mall. The strip mall has other Korean food options. They have a valet parking system of sorts but we didn't pay, we self parked. The attendant told us we were fine. It was approx 9pm when we arrived and also a week night. I have no idea how much valet parking is here. We were a small party of two. Upon arrival, we were notified they were out of RICE. Um..what?? That's a good problem (for them to have) but not for consumers. I feel this really limited our options to just soup. I honestly didn't want soup but there wasn't much else we could order. The bowls were large and came out piping hot. It was a satisfying meal and not too heavy. The price point was on the pricey side. Our waiter told us business has not been the same post covid. Some dishes are between $40-$60. I asked for a soup and they were able to make it less spicy. My friend got a soup with dumplings in it. He put a good amount of soy sauce to give the broth some life. Also, the banchan is on point. We asked for a refill and devoured the second portions. If you wanna impress friends with Korean food, bring them here! Its a casual place.

Restaurant was half empty and no Ike which surprised us on a Saturday night. Ordered some bossam and chungukjang and it didn't taste the same as it used to couple years ago. Also they were cleaning the kitchen while serving food which was kinda not sanitary with all the water splashing on the floor of the kitchen while they were making food. Overall it's not what it used to be and cleaning the kitchen while making and serving food is not a good combo.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
