Saw the truck as we were driving by and wanted to give it a try. Tried we did, and it was a disappointment. Ordered online at 510pm, pickup up option was "ASAP". Upon ordering, pickup time given "5:51pm". Think allowing a specific pickup time would be easier becos 40mins for pickup doesn't sound like "ASAP". Items we ordered as follows : 1) NY steak x 2 (tough n overcooked. One was medium well, the other was medium rare. Both were just well done.), 2) Filet mignon with shrimp n another with scallops (son liked the scallops, overcooked on the shrimp and steak - medium n medium well, but both was well done instead), and 3) Shrimp plate (this one was ok). The sad part was the rice was not good, tasted like overnight rice and the quality of rice used was not good either. How do u not make rice well?? Fried rice however, was surprisingly tasty n good (thanks to butter n soya?!) veggie on the side was ok too. Total cost $148 (tips included) Went on time at 515pm to pick it up. The lady gave us our order. All good? No. Got home, checked, and not it. Ordered 5 items, only got 4. They left out d filet and shrimp. Packed everything back, went bk to the truck. Informed the lady n had to wait for our order. Noticed there weren't any sauces, so asked the lady for it. In short, my expectations for food truck is that since we do not get any service but paying almost the same price as eating in a restaurant, the food HAS to be good. Furthermore, considering this wasn't a cheap meal, we expected better quality food and service, (ie. Just ordered this place through uber eats, expecting not benihana level, but atleast an average steak and shrimp plate. Unfortunately literally nothing was done, even remotely well. The steak was overcooked, not to the point of being overly dry but certainly not great. The seasoning on everything, was definitely lacking. The steak had a raw shrimp flavor in the background, suggesting cross contamination. The rice, was overcooked, and unseasoned, not much more to say. The shrimp wasnt awful, not completely unseasoned and probably the most edible thing on the plate other than the vegetables. Wouldve been fine quality wise if other elements were better. The vegetables however were also completely unseasoned, and not the greatest texture. Overall, you couldve added seasoning, and just avoided the steak raw shrimp flavor collision and I wouldve been pretty happy with it considering the time its available. Not even pricey or difficult changes. Just an overall lack of effort, and care. 2 stars because it was 1am and I didnt immediately throw it in the garbage to eat cereal instead.
