    House-made Cola
    Gearmo C.

Gorgeous outdoor space tucked away opposite Guisados. The staff are friendly, attentive and accommodating and have made this my favourite spot to bring friends for a chill evening hang that still brings atmosphere. The drinks are reasonably priced, the food slightly more on the higher side but is always high quality. I think the house made cola and the fish & pork sausage plate with sauerkraut are MUST tries here!

The garden patio is beautiful. The beer was the star of the show! The food was good but overpriced. This is a great place for a large group and the ambiance is worth it. Parking is tricky and be prepared on Dodger game day...parking will be impossible.

    Leak in men's room

Food and decor both earn a 4.5. Service earns a hard 2. Was just here... They forgot multiple things from our order. We asked about the items, the server said they'd get on it... and it never happened. After asking again, ee ended up waiting 30 to 40 minutes for one sausage. At the time, only six of the 20+ tables were even occupied, and most of the staff was spending most of the time standing around looking at their phones. At most other restaurants, you'd expect something to be taken off the tab, or a little something or other brought over as an apology... That never happened here. Just, "Hey, too bad that we blew it; you already had to pay and tip when you ordered, so... Tough luck." Here's a picture of their active leak in the men's room. I wanted to like this place, but it was a very bad experience.

    Helles (Bavarian Blond Lager)

Easily one of my favorite spots to grab a drink in the area! The beer they brew themselves is amazing, especially the Bavarian blond lager! The ambience is great, and the food is fantastic as well. My only complaint would be the food entree prices. It's something unique to the area, so I get it, but the food prices are just not approachable enough for a beer garden in my opinion. That being said, if you are looking for a nice outdoor space to grab a delicious beer or glass of wine, you will not be disappointed. That experience is worth the 5 stars alone in my opinion!

Best Lager & hefeweizen beer in California! Vinny at Russian River Brewing would agree, I think:)

Love Bia Om! Bia Om is a large "secret garden" to eat, drink and laugh on Sunset! I came for the amazing lager & wheat beers but stayed for the food! Potato finger noodles with cheese OMG! And the schnitzel!!! Kid-friendliness Yes, but like ALL restaurants kids are not allowed to run or walk freely around the restaurant potentially bothering guests! So Bia Om is great for kids as long as they are learning good restaurant manners from an attentive parent or guardian.

    Today's special!

Wonderful food, atmosphere and customer service! Can't wait to come back! Beer, wine, diverse menu including delicious desserts.

    Increíble ambiance!

A bicycling group stopped by for a quick breather in the lot before heading back out. Event organizers were shuffling unsuspecting casual onlookers into playing regulars. In and around the brewery, focused chess matches were set up in dimly lit cosmic lighting, a stark contrast to the commotions from the music and the Lakers game on TV. Upstairs inside the brewery the attendees traded the cool, evening air for a noticeably stuffier experience. The space contained mostly beginner mahjong games as well as chess matches. I had the chance to engage in both activities and had a blast even though I got my butt kicked. Would love to come back and play a few more rounds with a drink in hand.

I wasn't prepared for its intense cannabis aroma and flavor. For food we decided to go with the crudo. It was light and refreshing. Very different from traditional brewery grub. They do have burgers. Most of the time breweries don't really have the best food, but this one had amazing food! Service was prompt and very friendly. I got a blonde brew and it was so good and refreshing. We ordered many items on the menu but there were only two things we liked; the Mackerel and the Eggplant. Unfortunately the rest of the food was not good at all. Another thing was that none of us got buzzed from the beer. lol Majority of us agreed that the beer was watery but maybe that wasn't a bad thing. hahahaha Again, it's a cute place especially for summer time. And the Mackerel was really really good. I will probably go back for it.

All about the Boomtown Brewery!…read more This Arts District favorite is a beat away from Union Station where I typically make my way over from to enjoy all the good good that Boom has to offer. Located on Jackson Street between N Vignes Street and Center Street (but actually on the corner on Vignes) you can find local street parking throughout the area, but nothing beats a train ride or a ride share to enjoy responsibly. Always have a great time here on the inside or their long patio with flat screens outdoors (as well as in) to catch the latest events. DJs always spinning the best beats. The brewery where the make the magic is pretty spacious yet intimate. Was able to go on a tour here and learn more about the ins and outs. The taproom is stellar for group hangs and socials. Pool tables, photo booth, arcade style games, loungey area, communal seating, and local food vendors who come out and serve up great eats. Not as many vegan friendly spot, though the few that are on select days and times are pretty solid. If you're an IPA enthusiasts they have at least 6 on the rotation including the Nose Job (7% abv) and a personal fav. Their Hydration Break WC IPA, is a little more of India Pale Ale punch (7.4%), but you can't go wrong with any. Flights are still a recommend if you want to feel out the variety. For Hard Seltzer lovers, you've got the Frosty Fresco or Al Fresco. Fruit Snacks Lager is surprisingly epic as is the Brett Michael's Blonde Sour. I do miss some of their more seasonals such as the red lager aka Part-Time Lover but do enjoy all that's on the rotation. You can pop in for events like Friday Karaoke, Tuesday Taproom Trivia or Open Mic Mondays. Book a private event for all style of events. Family and pet friendly until 7pm. Beer and wine packages available with up to 300 person capacity. No matter the day... Still come for the beer, stay for the cheer. Take in the rustic decor, artsy vibes outdoors. Planty vines and nothing but things that make you thrive. Boomtown Brewery always gets me feeling the good vibes.

Overall it's a laid back cool spot to down a few rounds with friends, and we did end up singing along a lot of times... so we kinda got a performance in lol. Some performers clearly outshined others but was a good time! I also liked that it's a dog friendly establishment so best believe I got some good pets in with the furry friends. Here's your review:…read more --- **1 star. Rude staff, blatant favoritism, and a ruined first experience.** I came to The Douglas on Sunset specifically to watch the FIFA match. We were seated in a shaded, well-positioned spot with great ambience, ordered food and drinks, and settled in for the game. Around halftime, staff switched our screen to the Dodgers game without asking us. When I flagged it to a female bartender, her exact response was "hold on, I don't care, I'll go see what I can do" -- and then she simply walked off and never returned. A different staff member, a man, was genuinely helpful and got our game back on. He deserves real credit; he was the one bright spot in this entire visit. Shortly after, while I was placing another food and drink order at our table, a second bartender confronted me -- rudely and aggressively -- demanding to know if I was "the one who asked for the game to be changed." He then informed me that FIFA couldn't be shown where we were seated and that we'd need to go watch it in the parking lot, in direct sunlight, despite the fact that we'd already been sitting there comfortably for half an hour with food and drinks. It was obvious the switch was to accommodate a small group of the bartender's friends who wanted the Dodgers game instead -- actual paying customers were an afterthought. This is Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. The Dodgers game is playing on every screen in every bar within a mile. We asked for one screen, in the shade, for one soccer match, and were treated like an inconvenience for it. Bottom line: favoritism over customers, condescending staff, and a complete lack of basic hospitality. The one exception was the male bartender who actually helped us -- everyone else made this a first and last visit.

The fries were not good. It was also kind of creepy the way he brought it out to me not even speaking, I wasn't given any napkins, and it was heavily sauced with mustard. Definitely bar food would only like it if I was intoxicated, not a place I would go to for a quick bite. Service was lacking on both ends. I would say the nicest gentleman was the one dumping the trash. 2 stars because their bathroom was clean.

Their menu consisted a huge selection of beer, sausages and dipping sauces for fries. We opted for the Duchesse sour, Dr. Browns Black Cherry pop, Duck sausage, Buffalo sausage, and small fries with curry ketchup. The ambience was great! It felt like a beer hall since it had long tables and benches in the middle, everyone was drinking beer having a great time. There were also smaller cozier tables on the side if you wanted a more intimate space. We enjoyed our drinks and people watched while we waited for our food. The Duchesse red ale sour was really yummy, it was a good balance of sweet and tartness. We got the duck, bacon, and jalapeño sausage with sweet peppers and caramelized onions, the hot dog was delicious!! The sausage was a bit rich but the savory flavours were incredible, it was grilled well with a nice crispy skin and paired really well with the sweet peppers. You also get a huge selection of different mustards to try - yellow, dijon, seeded, honey, brown, you name it, they've got it. The buffalo, cherry and mint sausage was very good as well, but it's a bit more dry and gamey than the duck. The grilled bun is just ok, it's a solid blank canvas to highlight the tasty sausages. The fries are fat boys and seasoned very well. I normally am not a fan of thick fries but these changed my mind, the curry ketchup gave it a nice complexity as well. I just wish they gave you more sauce since the fries are so chunky. :) Had a really fun time overall and can't wait to come back and try their other sausages and beer options.
