We ordered the Clams, Oysters, Escargot, Ong Choi Beef Salad, Grilled Shrimp, and Fermented Bean Curd Duck Hot Pot. The clams were my favorite of the night with a nice kick of spice and plentiful clams full of meat. The oysters seemed to have more toppings than actual meat, but both the toppings and meat had a good flavor. The Escargot was my least favorite with very chewy meat and plenty of gritty sand within. The Ong Choi Beef Salad was one of the top 3 dishes with a fresh, zesty sauce and good quality beef. The grilled shrimp was reasonable with a quality you would expect. The Fermented Bean Curd Duck Hot Pot was the second favorite dish of the night with tender, tasty meat. The broth was fairly light which allowed the meat to highlight the dish. It was over an hour wait for OC & Lau so we figured we'll try this place. It's a great alternative since there was little to no wait! So I opted for the Seafood Thai Lau instead. We also shared the scallops, grilled squid, and razor clams. All of which were good. The seafood thai hotpot was definitely on the sweeter side. It had a nice flavoring to the broth and came with fish, quail eggs, lots of veggies, clams, and squid. It was perfect for two people. The scallops was 6 delicious scallops tops with lots of goodies. Yum! The grilled squid was okay but came with a yummy green sauce. And the razor clams were also good but a little bland to me. I love that they have so many different options in their menu. You are bound to find something you like. For all that food we paid about $80 (without tip). I thought that was very reasonable considering it was all seafood and we left satisfied and full. I told them to cancel, and then ended up at another restaurant, which appreciated my business. They rarely apologized to us but kept talking blah blah blah. It's nice and meaty with a crispy exterior, though the crispness can vary depending on which part of the fish you're working on. That aside, it's super affordable here - for $45, you can get a medium sized catfish with all the fixings. This can easily feed 3 people if you're ordering other things to share. If you're looking for said other dishes to share, I highly recommend getting the Coconut Swirly Escargot with Basil Leaves ($12.99). You get a plate full of small swirly patterned snails in spicy coconut milk. Do yourself a favor and spoon some of that sauce over rice. It's so simple, yet so damn good. The mango squid salad ($13.99) also hits every single time. The squid is cut lengthwise and has some sort of sear on the outside. It's mixed with tart mango pieces that are fashioned into skinny noodles, mint and topped with peanuts + fried shallots. It's incredibly light and refreshing.
