I didnt get this place. There isnt any theme. The food is bland and overpriced. The music was classic rock - rolling stones. But then a pop song played. I didnt see much Shaq stuff on the walls. I think he's from the south, but it didnt have a southern feel. I just don't understand what kind of vibe they are going for. They should pick a theme and have everything match. I went during a busy time but only 1 other customer there. That's a bad sign. The place was too clean, like it just opened up. And yet it took a long time to get our food. Clean and friendly. Was looking forward to a non Louisiana style chicken sandwich. Chicken was cooked perfectly and was served piping hot. Mac and fries standard staples with our meal. Sigh! I'm sorry to say I don't think this location will last very long due to the severe lack of visible customers every time I walk by. I myself came here during its' first week and enjoyed my chicken sandwich and small fries (VERY small fries), but the food was not unique and unfortunately overpriced (a common complain here), and that's without going into detail of how unhappy the employees seem. Shaq certainly put on a good face when promoting this location, but I don't think his celebrity and positive attitude will able to keep the Shaq-attack going here much longer. read more

I have been to this place twice and have not been disappointed. I love there thin version of steak fries it the perfect combination of fluffy and crispy. This time I ate in and I tried the mustard sauce and the Carolina sweet and smoky I really loved the taste they were great as a dipper for your fries. I have had the big Aristotle and the big and sloppy. Both were great. The employees are all very nice and friendly willingly to offer assistance should you need it. I will definitely go back. We ordered...The Big Aristotle, the Crispy Grilled Cheese, Mac & Cheese, Fries & Banana Pudding.... Delicious! My favorite was the Aristotle! We will be going back for sure. I really liked the Shaqs chicken. The chicken was jucy and tender. The bun was light and fluffy the sauce was amazing on both sandwich and fries. The sweet tea is addictive so sweet. We ordered a few of the chicken sandwiches, popcorn chicken/tenders, fries and shakes. The chicken was not very good, it was greasy and not much flavor. The regular fries were served cold and did not taste fresh. The sweet potato fries were a little better. The shakes were the highlight of the trip. Both the Carmel and Oreo shakes were excellent. The restaurant was busy, it took about 15 minutes to order and 25 minutes for the food to arrive. Definitely longer then expected. With so many options in this area I would go elsewhere. read more

Came to Big Chicken in Gilbert on the grand opening day. Waited in line with light rain for 25 minutes and then found out we could have ordered at the bar with no wait. I ordered the M.D.E. with lettuce, bc fries and a cookie. Did not know how much the cookie was because the price was not displayed on the menu. When I reviewed the receipt they charged extra for lettuce and the cookie was $12.95. Overall, the food is ok and big but not much crispy crunch to the chicken. The extra charge for lettuce, cookie price and limp chicken may prevent me from returning. Expected it to be better than Dave's Chicken and Raising Canes but on the grand opening day it was not. So after a trip to Nashville, we found Big chicken. So to get the feel of extending the vaycay we decided to check it out. Honestly, I feel as though we should have just read the reviews first. Price, it was what it was. A bit high for the portion size, but we had our fill. The frys were nothing to talk about, but then the chicken was also. It was alright, but not a restaurant I'd go out of my way for. Atmosphere was good...walk up counter, dining room, patio and bar. Chicken was good, high quality and flavorful. Sides were a bit skimpy ironically and Shaq sauce isn't great. Felt it was overpriced as well. Two meals came in at $35. Terrible customer service from Big Chicken on Gilbert Rd and Elliot Rd in Gilbert, AZ. I ordered delivery from the Big Chicken app since DoorDash wouldn't let me order the sauces. Then after I ordered, I get a message that says my order was canceled. So I called the store and they said the driver canceled the order. Then after about 15-20 minutes of waiting to receive my order, they couldn't find a driver so I had go get the order myself. No compensation or no sincere apology from the General Manager working there. I wasn't offered a credit for delivery fee, since I had to pick it up myself! Then he didn't even have the bags warm. They were sitting on the counter and now my food is cold. I paid over $45 worth of cold food. And now I'm going to contact the Better Business Bureau so I can let them know what's going on. Big Chicken used to be my favorite place, and I love supporting Shaq, but it pains me because the customer service has been atrocious over my last two visits. We have been waiting to eat here since it opened and finally got our chance last night. We ordered 2 MDT sandwiches, 5 piece chicken tenders, three baskets of fries, and fountain drinks. Pros Great location, open till 10pm, inviting interior decor with TVs. Cons Overpriced fried chicken, everything was salty including the ranch, and staff was not friendly or helpful. All tables were dirty with dripped sauce and grease from previous customers. At 9 pm they we're already cleaning up and removing drink stations ( like tea), and never greeted us or offer assistance when we needed help. At one point I stood at the counter waiting to ask for a plastic fork and I count four employees that walked past me several time without my ever asking me if I needed help with something. Probably would not return. Not a great experience . I say go next door to LoLo's chicken and waffles for a much better experience! read more

It's over priced fast food with nothing special to it, everything seems to be seasoned with sugar and menu to plate is borderline false advertising, I've gone three times and tried a different sandwich each time just to be sure it wasn't a fluke and it wasn't one particular item. We spent a good amount of money to try a few things on the menu only to throw all our food away... the sandwich's were okay but the slaw in one of our sandwich's tasted four days old very soggy... fries were not crispy enough to hold the toppings and the Mac n cheese was very bland and under whelming. We sat at the bar just for the bartender to not acknowledge us or offer anything to drink. Until torwards the end of our meal I eventually had to ask for a cup of water... mind you we would have ordered beer but the service was terrible!! don't waste your money here.
