Biscuits is a cozy little diner in the Federal Way Crossings shopping center. It's bigger than it looks from the outside. They are only open for breakfast and lunch and serve basic diner fare. I had hot chocolate, orange juice, and egg white scramble with ham and Swiss, red potatoes, and biscuits. The cocoa was good - actually tasted like it might not have been made from a powder. The biscuits were dense, but delicious and came with butter and jam. The scramble is a scramble. Can't really mess up egg whites, diced ham, and cheese. One of the reasons this place only got 3 stars though is the potatoes. While delicious, they were barely lukewarm. Obviously they were put on the plate first and just sat there until the other food was ready. They do have gluten-free options, and a wide variety of items my toddler would love to eat. Not real impressed with this place. It is very noisy similar to what Applebee's is like everything bounces off the walls. Food was pretty amateur . Service wise, they took forever to come and take our order and when they did take our order we didn't get the food for a very long time. We actually considered leaving. I'm not sure if they were short staffed in the kitchen or what it was but they weren't very communicative about why anything was taking so long. I came in wanting to love this place... I'm all for local, smaller businesses, something other than IHOP in Federal Way. We came here on a Saturday morning. Everyone in my family, for some odd reason, ordered the Joe's Scramble. Eggs, spinach, tomatoes, bacon, potatoes. However, we asked for the potatoes on the side, thankfully. Otherwise, that would have been way too many carbs because you get bread or waffles on the side. Their wheat bread is delicious! They use the Daves Killer bread, I think. Very nutty and grainy. Just how I like my bread. Staff is extremely friendly and attentive. I also appreciate their rewards club, which if you sign up for, I think gives you $5 off. Only problem for me is that they don't demand face coverings for entering. I feel that is pretty dangerous. Otherwise great food, very fast, but could have better service. Definitely deserves more stars though for how good the food is. There is a sign outside that says they also use beyond meat but i'm not sure for what - maybe just the burgers you can get substituted? Maybe other things (sausage etc). The portion size is good and the prices are decent. Definitely worth a trip especially if you're in the area shopping at home depot or costco. read more

Hearty food, friendly staff, and very accommodating. I enjoyed the eggs Benedict with bacon and avocado. The hollandaise was very well executed and super yummy. The prices are a little on the high side, but I guess that's just part of the dining out experience now. I love local places. This is one of those places that definitely fares better than say...that diner which is black bear themed. Biscuits Cafe is clean and friendly -- so much more than you can ask for. I'm not a fan of eggs benedict because...well, I don't like hollandaise sauce. Try to order from these guys when they're not busy. Because when they're busy, their quality of service goes right out the door. I don't have an issue with the fact that the service is slow. I've worked in a breakfast/brunch restaurant before so I know how it is. However, two times in the last three days, I ordered from Doordash and both times the order was confirmed and ignored. Both times, a whole hour would go by and it would get canceled because the driver shows up for my order and they didn't even put the order through to the kitchen because they were too busy to do so. When speaking to the staff, they say that Doordash auto-confirms the order if they don't do it fast enough. If they have time, they will put the order in. When I asked them why they don't temporarily turn off Doordash orders if they're too busy to perform, they said it's just in case they might do the order. So many issues with this I don't know where to start. First off, if I walked into the establishment and ordered to go, they would put my order in. Using Doordash is equivalent to that. What they are not realizing is that the Dasher (driver) is using their time and gas to drive to the establishment. When they go there to find out the order isn't even acknowledged, they lose money. On top of that, us customers end up waiting for no reason and our orders are prepaid. Meaning a refund can take 3-5 business days to get refunded. Not to mention, how extremely unprofessional that is. If you don't have the staff to deal with the orders, then temporarily turn off the orders. But the whole notion of letting orders just come in just to pick and choose when to care enough to perform the task is beyond unprofessional. With how busy they are, they won't have to worry about me ever ordering from them both in-person and for delivery again. read more

My s/o and I went to this restaurant right after they opened and it was great. That was several years ago. We went there again today and it was an awful experience. It was almost 1pm and the restaurant was almost empty. The hostess promptly seated us, at a dirty table. Our waitress took our order less than ten minutes later. When the hostess brought the milk for my s/o it was in a dirty glass, with dried milk all around the rim. S/o got the chicken fried steak breakfast and he said it tasted good. I had a classic sub and it was so poorly put together it was hard to eat. The bread wasn't sliced so I had to tear it apart and I had to take a huge chunk of lettuce out. We were given a small ramekin with ketchup in it and it had something dry and gross on the rim. The fries were slightly warm at best. When we were ready to leave we hadn't been give a check yet so the hostess said it came to $45. I had to request to see the breakdown to make sure Needless to say, we will not be going to this restaurant again. Was in the area, searched for breakfast near by came across Biscuits Cafe. Decided to give it a try. Walking in we were greeted by Jesse who was probably the best server they have here. Very fast at attending his tables. However, very disappointed with our Server Alondra. It appears she has never been a server at all. Took 20 minutes just to come take our order, never once greeted us (this was our first time in this place). Took our order because I told her we were ready to order. We waited 22 minutes for the food to arrive (I ordered the biscuits and gravy my husband ordered the original breakfast) However, Alondra forgot to bring my husbands pancakes. After, 30 minutes of waiting for the pancakes my husband said out loud that he was going to have to serve his own coffee the BusBoy heard him and brought us coffee and I then asked him to please let Alondra know that she had not brought our pancakes. When Alondra finally brought the pancakes not once did she apologize just placed the pancakes on the table and left. Alondra never once came to check on us and after we were done eating we had to wait another 20 minutes just to get her attention to checkout. When she finally came to the table she noticed my husband had not eaten his two sausage Patties and she pointed out that she doesn't like them either, my husband However, told her that it's not that they aren't good the problem was that they were burnt, she would of known this if she would of came to check on us at least once while we were eating. Very disappointed because overall my biscuits and gravy were good. Food is great, our waitress was ok, she was a little confused when I asked for the receipt before paying because she just told me the total which was odd to me. Usually they print out what you ordered before paying or give a visual. Anyway, the wait was very long to be seated and longer waiting for our food. When we got there the hostesses said their would be a 30 min wait. We waited watching 2 others go ahead of us, I asked one of the hostesses why and he mentioned they came in and put their name and number down and asked us to called them back because they did not want to wait inside. It would've been nice to have that option told to me when we had a wait as well....I think everyone should have that option, or am I wrong? They may need to also check the water before serving it as well had something floating in one and the other was not clean it was cloudy. This was my first time coming here and I was extremely disappointed from the service to the food. I did a call in order for carry out told it would take up to 30 minutes. Went to go pick up my order and I asked for the two orders to be on two separate tickets and both ladies helping me we're annoyed by my request. I get home and see my order which cost $15.40 soggy, gross and filled with onions which I'm allergic to all in my eggs. I picked them out to show a handful of onions in it. I would have called to get the order corrected and waited another 30 mins plus the drive but seriously wasn't worth it to me to see how the second one would turn out. Very dependable breakfast diner. Waitstaff is always friendly and hard working. Kitchen staff works like a pitstop crew at the Daytona 500, quick and accurate. Food is not at a 5 star level compared to a "high end" restaurant but that is not what I expect coming here which is why they get 5 stars anyhow. It is everything I expect when I need breakfast in a hurry. The only negative might be they can get extremely busy with up to a 20-30 minute wait on some mornings so don't always expect to be seated right away. A group of us went here on Monday. This place wasn't amazing but not terrible. The server with short hair shaved on the back has a horrible attitude and has no sense of customer service. The younger girl was kind and asked us for our drinks right away. The server on the other hand spoke to some of us that were stupid. I hate to give one star reviews but this place just sucks ass. I came here with my S/O and we made sure to come before they close, roughly an hour beforehand . First of all, it took about 20 mins for our order to be taken and then we waited about another 30 mins just for food to arrive. My bf and I joked that they would packed our food to go because at this point they were just few minutes off to closing. I told my bf if food is not out in 3 mins we are walking. I ordered coffee and I never received it until I had to search and flag down our server. The staff seems friendly but very absent ( maybe focusing on closing and forgetting they had customers). At the end, we requested the check and for the first time, the server was very prompt. Brought the check and less than a minute of us putting the card Down the server grabbed the check and returned it. That was the only the fast service we got. I think the server checked on us once, seeing we hardly touched our Luke-warm / cold food and just not as happy. But other than that, nothing exceptional. I remember coming here long ago when they freshly opened, I didn't remember why I never return. I just remembered I didn't liked it as much. My bf on the other hand comes here every now and then with his fam and swears to me this place is good. Because of him, I decided to come back and give this place another shot.
