    Vegetarian Omelette was huge

I honestly never have been a big fan of Black Bear Diner regardless of their location and today wasn't any different. Their service and ambiance is great but I just don't dig their food! Perhaps it's just me but I think there is better. On a plus note their portions are huge!

The service was ok. We were seated quickly but it took a while for our server to take our order. The food was good. Pretty decent breakfast if you're in Reno.

I love this place so much! Every Black Bear Diner I've gone to is always so comforting to me. I don't know if it's the cozy cabin lounge style or the feel of back in the day easy-going breakfast grub, and with the sweet older folks there early morning just makes it more enjoyable (it's like having my grandparents there). The service is absolute welcoming all the time. I love it when places like this have the consistency of kindness. Call me lame but their newspaper theme of menu is my favorite. My go-to order is always homemade corned beef hash, ultimate fave at Black Bear. I do need to come here more often at later times because I have never ordered their lunch or dinner before. Waiting time is not bad at all, so no need to get frustrated easily. Thanks Black Bear Diner for being an awesome breakfast spot in the Western+Midwest, y'all are my favorite!

Denver omelette, breakfast potatoes, and biscuits and gravy. Enough for 2 people!

I had a GREAT experience ordering from door dash. Prices were fair- for 20.00 my husband and I could share the Denver omelette, breakfast potatoes- then we added gravy to the biscuits for a couple dollars and that was like a whole other meal! Will be eating here again. Thankful to have found a good breakfast spot with biscuits and gravy! Food was plated well and arrived quickly, speaking to good service. I have never been inside as we ordered door dash. But will go in person sometime.

Chicken 'N Waffle, Country Chicken Fried Steak, Breakfast Burrito, and eggs Benedict

We ordered the Chicken 'N Waffle, Country Chicken Fried Steak, Breakfast Burrito, and Eggs Benedict. The inside was nice and the server was great, which really made the experience enjoyable. The food was good overall, just not something that completely stood out. Everything was solid and we left satisfied. I'd definitely come back and try more items.

8/27 Family Breakfast with In-Laws while they visiting. Was greeted immediately and sat quickly table of 5. Wasn't too busy of a mid morning breakfast. Katrina was our server and she was great. Took our orders quick and food didn't take too long to come out . I had the classic eggs Benedict. It was decent not the best I have had but still good . Everyone seemed to enjoy their food as well. I would still come back try some other breakfast items . Typical diner with cabin like ambiance. Overall good experience. Enjoy !!!!

Bear's choice with cinnamon roll French toast.

Of the two locations I do prefer the layout of this establishment over their other counterpart. (They have a cool gift section) The service was great, and accommodating. They were fairly busy and our server checked on us regularly. I ordered the bear's choice which comes with two pancakes, waffle, or two French toast, bacon, ham, or sausage, and two eggs made to order. I ordered two eggs over medium and I chose ham. It was an up charge, but I selected the cinnamon roll french toast and it was delicious. Highly recommend. The only negative I'd note is that the portions seemed smaller than the other locations I've tried. The eggs and ham were certainly smaller/less when I compared my photos of the same meal. Perhaps this was just the day I went, but certainly worth noting.

Came here for lunch during a week day. We had the best server! I wish I could remember her name. She was funny and ensured we always had everything we needed. Our food came out fresh and it was definitely tasty, however the portions were so small compared to the sparks location. I felt like I ordered the kids chicken strip basket lol. Also? I loved their honey mustard. It was my favorite dipping sauce. I'd still come back though!

Popped in for a medical seminar. They served a number of choices. I opted for an easy go to. Taco Salad. Boy was i definitely surprised with the presentation not to mention the taste. Food came out hot to the table. The waitstaff was friendly and efficient for the crowd size. It was a relaxing experience, held in the back conference area.

    Dust corners
    Lauren T.

The service was great! The food was just okay. The most important part cleanliness is where it really disappointed. The booths had visible dust. I was having to tell my toddler to stay away from the booth corners because they were dirty. The photo frames were also visibly dusty. Won't be back due to concerns about how clean the kitchen might be.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing experience here from begin to end. The staff was kind and attentive, we had a waitress who sat us down and got us coffee and water, and after that it was uphill from there. We had three other servers stop to ask if we needed anything or wanted to give our order, and once we made up our mind the waiter who helped us did a fantastic job. No pen or notepad, he remembered our order with full detail and not one mess up. As we finished out appetizer, sides, and meal he continued to come by and take our plates, refill our water and my coffee. He was on point. By the end of the meal I paid the bill and gave him a cash tip and thanked him. He seemed happy and thanked us for stopping in and conversing with him. Highly recommend this place to anyone, oh, and the food was on point! Sweet, savory, delicious, and it made me wish there was a place like this back home!

The server was really good, helped me to find gluten free options and walk me through what I could eat and made a few modifications as well. I ended up having the chicken saltimboca and mashed potatoes. I didn't have any appetizers since most weren't gluten free and I hate olives. The food took insanely long, an hour and a half and everyone got their food all at once which I have no idea if it was planned or not. My mashed potatoes were cold but my dish was hot. By the time we got the food I was STARVING and I was too hungry to really slow down and eat to enjoy. The mashed potatoes were cold as I mentioned so the pacing was off. I'm leaning 3 stars for food, service was great but wouldn't come back if I was visiting because really, anything over 45 minutes to prep should be explicitly marked on the menu.

Zach greeted us as soon as we walked in, seated us quickly, and took the time to explain the menu and answer our questions. His friendly personality and knowledge made us feel right at home. I had a tough time deciding between the Homegrown Burger and the Alaskan Salmon, but I went with the burger. It was cooked exactly how I requested, juicy, flavorful, and easily one of the better burgers I've had in Reno. I'd give it a 9.2/10. My wife ordered the macaroni and cheese. She thought the flavor was delicious, but the sauce was a little thinner than she prefers, so she gave it a 6/10.
