    Pumpkin Pie
    William O.

I was doing a little food tour for myself of the Bernal Heights area. I stumbled upon this tiny bakery on Cortland. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon walking in you you are greeted warmly by the staff and presented with some beautiful pastries.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything looked wonderful, but I had to try a slice of their pumpkin pie and their PB and J cookie sandwich. Black Jet had no seating so I took my pastries and found a nearby bench. I found the PB&J cookie sandwich to be really good, but a little too sweet. Their pumpkin pie was amazing. It had a very soft texture and the flavors were perfect. I loved their merch and the servers were very helpful. I will definitely come back sometime!

Really enjoyed the pastries here. The morning bun was the best I've ever had, flaky on the top and sticky with cinnamon sugar on the bottom. The ham & cheese croissant was also excellent, flaky and lots of flavor inside. The only downside is they aren't able to heat up the pastries you order, so will be room temperature unless you take them home. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a small spot with no seating, order at the counter and get your goodies to-go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The pastries are made in-house so you can ask the staff more about the pastries if you are so inclined. I would absolutely recommend this spot if you are in the area looking for a quick snack or treat.

This place makes me smile :) our weekend Bernal treat for Espresso tonics. I swear they used to change their flavors out more often, but lately it's been the same in rotation. Nevertheless 10/10. Almost every single bakery item we've gotten was a hit but we never not leave without a slice of pizza or their BREAKFAST SANDWICHES (i think certain ones are available on weekends only)

I am so amazed with the mini cupcakes so perfect. So delicious I highly recommend....

This is one of our Top coffee Spots ! I love their BLT sandwiches (add avocado) ! Their service is always Great and welcoming! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small coffee shop , no dine in[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . They worked fast and it's Great quality , coffee are always consistent!

I stopped by on a Sunday morning. Quite busy, but the line moves fast. Staff was super friendly! I got the blackberry scone, and it was great. Crumbly with some lovely crispy edges, just sweet enough from the fruit to carry the pastry, but not overly so. It was not as moist/buttery as I wish it was, definitely felt like I could have used a cup of coffee or milk to wash it down. Still much better than most scones , which I find almost inedible without a drink. Honestly weren't too many other pastries at the time that caught my eye, so not sure how fast I'll be back. Their pizza sounds amazing though!

Black Jet is my favourite local bakery in the Bernal/Glen Park/Noe Valley area. Most things here are good and some things are exceptional and I would go out of way to come here to get. My favourites first and foremost are the banana bread and the coffee cake. The crust that they get on the outer layer is what really makes these special. I also really like the pizza and the cardamom snail which is served in the weekends. The cookies and cupcakes here are also It's a grab and go situation as there isn't any seating in the store but you can find a bench in the neighbourhood area to sit and eat your goodies.

Banana pie was good; Apple pie was okay with a heavier crust. I personally didn't like the apple of choice used.

Yes, there's almost always a line, but don't let that discourage you--the staff keeps it moving quickly, making the wait fast and efficient. The pastries are incredibly delicious. Their giant croissants are buttery, with soft, airy layers on the inside and a perfectly crispy, flaky exterior. Every bite is heavenly! My personal favorite is the cranberry scone. It's tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. For the best experience, enjoy your pastries while they're still warm--they taste even better fresh out of the oven. Payment is easy since they accept both credit cards and cash. If you're a pastry lover, Arsicault Bakery is definitely a must-visit in San Francisco. We highly recommend it!

I came by on a Friday around 11 am and it was so hard to find parking. There's street parking available but it was all filled up and I ended up getting dropped off since I saw the line forming outside the bakery. The line was only formed because the bakery is relatively small and doesn't have a lot of wiggle room so they only let in one party at a time. There aren't any sit-down tables or chairs so this is a grab and enjoy somewhere else. Pastry: Kouign-amann (8.4/10): Oh this was yummy. I love a good kouign amann and Arsicault satisfied my sweet tooth. It was a little too sweet but had a good outer layer crunch and fluffy interior. Chocolate Almond Croissant (7.8/10): This one was amazing! I will say that this one is definitely on the sweeter side but it was still delicious. It's a pretty big croissant with a good crunch but not a lot of flaking :( I did really enjoy the almond paste that was smothered on the inside. My boyfriend really enjoyed this croissant and wouldn't stop talking about it for a few hours.

We waited about an hour on a Friday morning. On to the baked goods, it was some of the best bakery goods I've tried ever. Everything was delicious in every way. My favorite had to be the coffee cake, the elote corn, and the Lorraine. Wow, so damn good. I know their menu changes, but it's a must try as their base dough for all their items are PERFECT. Each bite is amazing with such a crunch. Their corn latte was also super delicious.

The namesake Pistachio Cardamom croissant was excellent for a filled croissant. It had excellent layers and the cream was just enough to add a lusciousness to each bite that wasn't too heavy. The madame lorraine was my other favorite. It was meaty and rich with the soft baked runny yolk and the light touch of rosemary was just enough to accentuate the bite. The not as good...a standard butter croissant. Maybe we got a dud but there was a serious lack of layers in ours and it wasn't as crisp or as buttery as I like. The elote corn croquiche filling was also quite salty which was a shame because the pastry layer was pretty good. I still have two more pastries to try but given the weight and the mixed bag, I definitely expected a lot more from Butter & Crumble. Pro tip: get a butter croissant at Arsicault, walk to B Patisserie and get a kouign amann. You'll have both before the line moves here.
