Their Eggs Benedict are awesome!!! I ordered Dos Caballeros and it was amazing. Its like mixing your regular eggs Benedict and taco together. Meaty and filling. Don't forget to order their freshly squeeze orange juice, too. My only concern is their peanut butter pancake cause it was dry and not enough sauce, but overall experience is satisfying. The food is usually delicious but lately the place has been slacking a lot. We have gotten stale tortillas under our Juan Wayne, and when calling in to place an order we will be immediately hung up on. Whoever the woman is answering phones will hang up on you the minute you ask to place an order despite us regularly calling in. With recent renovations in the kitchen and maybe a shortage in employees, we noticed a decline in customer service and food quality. read more

I love breakfast places. For the longest time I finally have the chance to come here since it has been on my bookmark and take a break from the IHOP. Yes, it is popular on the weekends so wait time was average but I wasn't dying of hunger so no rush. There is no private parking so park in the neighborhood the next street over. So worth it and tastes soo good. The Griddlicious Combo was the best French toast I've had in a while with fresh cut strawberries, smoked bacon, pork sausage, and scrambled eggs. What I love about this breakfast spot is that the food was not expensive but they have generous portions. It was not a typical breakfast that you eat at a regular chain restaurant. Been here a few times now for brunch. We like to come here bc it's dog friendly on the patio. The food is great, however... they have a pest issue. Dozens of FLIES pestered us to death the entire time. Landing in our food, hitting us in the face, etc. Maybe the staff cannot control this, but it does not change fact that this was an unpleasant dining experience. Located on the corner of a nondistinctive corner where there will be no parking lot but ample parking in the neighboring street behind the restaurant. The restaurant itself is a decent size to fit approximately 30 people or so? I can't imagine too crazy of a wait for this place. Okay now onto the foods and drinks. We both ordered chai tea lattes, one hot and one iced. I would say either way to skip on the chais, they are a little watered down and have no distinctive taste either way. My sister ordered the peanut butter, honey, and banana pancakes which were tasty but because of the peanut butter was too dry to eat too much. Even with syrup I would say it is difficult to work through the two thick pieces. I ordered the Eggs Neptune which is essentially eggs benedicts with avocados, Hollandaise sauce, and shrimp! This was the dish that saved the four stars I would give to this restaurant, the dish was delicious to me and worth the $8.95 price tag. If we come back I would definitely stick to benedicts and I would want to try the french toast that most people are raving about. read more

We dropped off my kids at LAX and went here for breakfast at about 9:30 on a Saturday. Chose it after reading reviews here so expected parking to be tricky and anticipated a wait for a table. Had neither LOL. After we got seated there was a wait! Charming but crowded space. Bright walls with art for sale on them. Took awhile for server to see us. I had the mocha coffee and the eggs Benedict with fresh fruit, hubby had tender corned beef hash, eggs and fresh fruit. My Benedict was good but not exceptional. Needed a little lemon in the hollandaise and they used what looked like deli ham instead of Canadian bacon. The fruit was amazing: Lots of it and super fresh. The Mocha was crazy big and had an island of dense whipped cream 1/4 inch thick on top. Server was excellent: didn't hover but checked in. But hold on, I got this kind of dish for a reason. Because.... - Side of Pork Sausage (x3): Very juicy and savory. I ordered this on the side because my plan was to butterfly cut it and stick the meat into my Eggs Flower Benedict. Which turned out freaking AMAZING!! To the owners: You really don't have to say "fat Elvis". You could have just said Elvis. Why must you be so disrespectful? You think you're being cute and funny but in actuality you are angering the fans that love and adore Elvis. And in turn alienating us from your business. I will never recommend this place if this is how you want your business perceived. On a side note, why is it not allowed to do 1/2 beans and 1/2 potatoes as the side? Is it really going to set you back that much? Based on your prices, I doubt it. What happened to the customer is always right? She explained that she was referring to the pancakes as fat and not Elvis but understood how it could come off wrong. I said a simple comma after the word fat would've changed the game. I was at Blackbird Cafe last week for breakfast. Being a Thursday, it was not crowded which was good in regard to parking. This location only has street parking, at a fairly busy intersection. Considering that the restaurant was not very busy, I was a bit disappointed with how long it took for our food to be prepared & delivered. When our food arrived, it was very good. My girlfriend had scrambled eggs, sausage and a pancake. The eggs and pancake were perfectly prepared and the sausage was very flavorful. Have visited twice in last month. Breakfast is amazing. Service was great the first time. No parking lot, and street parking is scarce. Giving a 4 rating for the food, but a 1 for service experience the last visit. This is a great little café in the Bixby Knolls section of Long Beach. I ate there for breakfast a few days ago for the first time. They have an eclectic menu offering of different breakfast dishes to choose from. And they have corned beef hash! Service was great and our food came out fast. They have a small patio in front. Food -whole wheat pancakes- I love eating pancakes but I am also trying to get abs (unsuccessfully for the last two years :/) , so these pancakes were the perfect "healthy option". They are topped with honey and strawberries so they are not too sweet. -Dos Caballeros Benedict-Mexican style Benedict with corn tortilla instead of an English muffin. Tons of flavor and very rich. -Egg Flower Benedict-my girlfriend ordered this one and liked it a lot. It has a great mix of toppings and the sauce pairs well with all of the ingredients. Service -Quick and friendly service. Our waitress made us feel welcomed and struck up some small talk. Environment -Close to the beach, the restaurant is not too large but they have outdoor seating. I recommend sitting outside when the weather is nice. Overall, this is a great place to get our brunch on.
