This was my first time here and I am very very disappointed. I ordered a gluten free veggie pizza and the dough wasnt fully cooked!!! I even asked the employee if it was supposed to be that soft and he said gluten pizzas cooked differently ( which I understand, but I always order gluten free from other places and the crust is still crunchy...NOT THIS ONE) My pizza was so soggy and doughy, I couldn't even pick it up without it falling apart. I had to go home and finish cooking it in my oven like I ordered a pizza from papa murphys. What a disappointment. I often go to the one in Fremont and was worried about the consistency. But my worries were gone the moment I took a bite into that pizza. Blaze is by far my favorite pizza place to go to. Ingredients are always top notch and fresh with A LOOOOT of variety. Vegetarians need not worry! Blaze has a huge variety of cheeses as well as veggies! Not to mention, the people there are super friendly and welcoming. It's always a pleasure going and I have never had a bad experience. This place was good about two months ago but they got different people working there and it's such a trash place now. None of the staff wants to be there clearly because they stop making pizzas to tell the manager they want their ten min break when there's a line to the door. I finally tried this place on a day when the line wasn't going out the door. Great concept - it's like a Chipotle for pizza, except with way more ingredients. The staff was friendly as you went thru the different "stations". I came in with an idea of what I wanted (which were only about 4 toppings) and ended up with something that only slightly resembled that (with about 12 toppings). The size of the pizza was definitely a bit bigger than I expected, considering the reasonable price. It was cooked well (with only slightly browned crusts) and delicious. I came to this place with a group of about 8 people on our way to the movies. I had never been before and it was so awesome!! They have a few pizzas you can choose to be made or you can make your own. I made my own pizza.. They put the crust down, then you go through the motions of picking sauce & adding all the toppings, they have alot of toppings! They wasn't anything missing that I really wished they had. Well, I have heard good things about Blaze and decided to give it a try. I walked inside and can to the conclusion it must be good because it was packed. I ordered a two topping pizza, pepperoni and Italian sausage. I like the set up, reminds me of a subway style set up. When my pizza came out I asked it to be cooked for an extra minute. Only thing I didn't particularly enjoy was that it wasn't very sturdy. I ate it in the truck and the slices were flimsy. Overall it was a very good pizza. I had Blaze in Chicago and I'm so glad it made it to Northern Cali. I love how you can customize your pizza and load it up with unlimited toppings. Been here a few times now but recently when it was busy I had my worst experience. When there is a crowd the mentality of the workers goes from quality to quantity/speed. They undercook my pizza and I notice they were super shady on toppings. I even notice some people requested to recook their pizza as their cheese didn't even looked melted. I wish I could give zero stars. This a lengthy review, but if you value food safety please read. On Sunday 2/18 around 3:00pm I went to the Tracy location with another person. It was not very busy with only one couple in front of us. The first employee to help us wrote down our order and then helped the couple in front of us. The couple asked for pesto and red sauce mixed on her pizza. The employee turned around to look for a spoon in an area which had two bins with one labeled "dirty spoons." The employee took a spoon out inspected it, hesitated a moment, and then took it to the back and washed it. When it was our turn a different employee in the sauce area helped us. The person I was with ordered pesto and red sauce mixed. The employee turns and grabs a spoon out of the bin labeled "dirty spoons." We both froze because we could not believe it. The spoon was caked in sauce and was clearly dirty and used it on our pizza. I spoke up and said, "That spoon is dirty." The employee completely ignored me and passed the pizza to the cheese station. The girl asked what cheese and I said, "Can we get a new dough he just used a dirty spoon." The male employee then decided not to ignore me and said, "Oh it's not dirty it's just a mixing spoon and the bin is labeled dirty." Because that is so reassuring. Then the first employee who washed the spoon for the couple in front of us turns, I think trying to diffuse the situation said, "Oh yeah they're mixing spoons not really dirty." The customers behind us spoke up and said "Maybe you should change the language on your bins." The employees continued to pass the pizza along and make it. Nobody apologized or treated the situation seriously. The person I was with did not want to make a big deal about it but was clearly grossed out. We didn't really enjoy our pizza wondering about the cleanliness of the place. In addition, to the disgusting situation pizza above we got a third pizza to go which we discovered had a hair in it when we got home. That went right in the trash. The service here is always hit and miss, but I've never felt like food safety was an issue. I won't be back to this location again. read more
