Do NOT sleep on this place. I'd been eyeing Blue Sakura for some time, and the one detail that stopped me from going for so long was that the pricing for meat on the weekends was significantly higher than some other hot pot places that I frequent. HOWEVER, you do not need to get the meat and seafood price at all. The regular AYCE for $29.95 is still an extremely good option, and that's what I got when I went. To be clear, the non-meat option doesn't mean that it's vegetarian. While it does exclude all of the raw meat and seafood that you put into hotpot, it still has a good amount of protein in the form of things like fish balls, tofu, imitation crab, fried pork, and ALL OF THE DIM SUM. The shrimp dumplings, soup dumplings, shrimp rice rolls, and fried pork shumai were all so so so so good. Let me say that it's probably not as good quality as an actual dim sum restaurant, but the AYCE component of dim sum is amazing, and they have a really large selection of items to order. We ended up ordering a LOT of portions of the soup dumplings and shrimp dumplings. On the sweeter side, the custard bun, red bean mochi, durian balls, and fried brown sugar stuffed rice cakes were amazing. If I had to pick favorites, the red bean mochi and rice cakes were on the top, but everything was really great and we got filled up before we could try all of the items we actually wanted. The variety here is really top notch. AND on top of that, there are a bunch of canned drinks you can order that are included PLUS the soda fountain is self serve. This is really a wonderful experience with so much variety. I can't wait to return!

After finishing a long and late shift at the hospital, I was exited my family found this place not to far and open late enough for us to enjoy. We ordered a variety of items equating to over 60 itemized orders for a party of 4. We thoroughly enjoyed the Japanese broth the most. Got plenty of the proteins, vegetables, and noodles. There's a build your own sauce bar for your unique customization. Overall, we walked out stuffed and happy. The staff were very nice and quick to clean the table up. This is a casual and comfortable spot where you should expect to walk out smelling like hot pot. Would come again!

This restaurant is very advanced. You order on iPads, and can have all the soda, other beverages (see the teas, lychee juice, ramune sodas etc.), appetizers, and desserts you would like, IN ADDITION to the all you can eat hot pot additions. Highly recommend you include the brisket/ premium beef (so flavorful), the tofu rolls, and the sweet potato noodles in your hot pot. The sauce bar is also highly important- be sure to include lots of garlic in your sauce: for flavor and medicinal value in the winter.

This spot is fabulous! Everything from the moment you enter is filled with a relaxing, enjoyable, and easygoing vibe perfect for enjoying the experience to the fullest. The menu has so many options and fulfills any hot pot craving you may have! As for the food itself, everything tastes perfectly fresh and high quality. Additionally, the broth and sauce options add a depth of flavor that is unmatched! This spot offers the most satiating hot pot experience filled with that traditional, comfort-food feeling. The dining experience as a whole couldn't have been better. From the food to the fast and kind, but not rushed service as well as the ease of virtual ordering and getting your own dish-ware, drinks, and condiments, this restaurant is perfect for a casual yet elevated dinner with friends or family. It's the perfect place to splurge for a celebration/special occasion or just reward yourself with some delicious food for the soul. Although it's pricey, it's worth every penny for the quality, amount, experience, and fulfillment you'll get with the food!

So they do bottomless meat (includes seafood) and drinks for $35.99 Dinner Time. Food - Everything was nicely portioned. They leave an IPad at your table and you order whatever you want however much you want, after you put in the order you wait 5 min until you can make another. I will say they did tend to run out of a lot of stuff we wanted and it was barely 6-7PM. They had ran out of kimchi, corn, or matcha ice cream sadly. Service - so kind, we had called earlier in advance and received a lot of thought and care about our dinner plans. Ambiance - I would say we were lucky to placed in a corn because the entrance is really hectic so my experience while there was really nice. I will def be coming back here :) I did not take pics of the food because I was so hungry lol.

I thought it was great! The meat isn't the best but for weekday lunch for $24 it was really good. It included meat, veggies and some dim sum. The lunch menu for the dim sum was limited and mostly sweet buns. I liked the molten lava bun a lot. The food took a while to come out so we ordered before we were ready/finished and it was fine. The sauce bar was great and had a lot of spicy options. I like how you order on the tablet.

I really liked the concept of one price for unlimited hot pot and it even includes soft drinks. We went in late May and wasn't too busy so didn't need a reservation. Beer is extra and they have both Sapporo and Aishi. I would recommend but not if I have to wait in a line.

New AYCE hot pot place in Allston (surprise!) and their twist is they serve dim sum! Except the dim sum is limited and not very good. The shumai is deep fried! You'll either love it or hate it. While it's AYCE, the pricing is different depending on the hour and day, we happen to have picked the most expensive time (Friday evening). Try to to go lunch time on a weekday, it makes this more appetizing. You are served what you order on the little iPad they give you, not a buffet style. Ingredients were alright, broth is too diluted, sauce station is on point, though. TLDR; ok hotpot place, go on weekday lunchtime

I have gone back a couple more times to give Blue Sakura another chance, and I've been so much more satisfied than my first visit! They've made lots of improvements in their service over a short period of time as well. Firstly, their broths have improved a lot. I think you need to order the right broth for your preference, and my favorite has been the Korean army stew broth. Soooo tasty with the toppings. Next, I've learned now to order the broth before anything else so that by the time your other foods arrive, your broth will be ready and boiling. Next, keep in mind that you have 90 minutes the moment you sit down. If you're with friends, I suggest talking and catching up after you order LOL or else you might not have enough time. Finally, experiment with sauces! They make a difference.

Unlimited drinks and food! Everyone gets their own personal pot and broth so nothing gets lost. There's a sauce bar where you can make your own sauce. They have a wide selection of items but beware the portions are small when they come out to limit waste. We didn't like the shrimp paste here because it was too doughy. There is also dim sum you can order as part of AYCE! This place is good for dinner and catching up with friends. The server was nice and fast with bringing all our food items.

    Hursuong V.

Filling but the great price reflects the fact that the AYCE price does not include meat and also reflects the lower quality of the side dishes. Thoughts: 1) Large selection of other side dishes and dim sum like chicken wings, shrimp buns, etc. With the tofu and fish/meat balls included, you don't even need to order meat to get your protein in! However, most of the items tasted like frozen, pre-packaged food and wasn't super tasty. 2) Free soda! 3) Easy tablet ordering! Dishes are delivered to you (and pretty fast too) so you don't have to get up a bunch. 4) Personal hot pot 5) Ice cream options were great (cookie dough, vanilla, matcha)

Loved the service, the hostess and waiters were all very friendly and welcoming and explained everything to us well. The setting was great with nice tables and plenty of room for several parties. The food was just not what I expected. I got the Szechuan spicy, extra hot. And boy was it spicy. I didn't even notice my lips were swollen until our waitress came over asking if I wanted more broth T^T. I do love spicy food, but the broth didn't have much flavor. It was just spice. Aside from that, the meat was the only thing that costed extra. It was alright for me. I do love their takoyaki appetizer though. Very good, I ordered like 6 balls. Veggie portions were just enough. Dim sum variety was mostly dumplings and steamed buns. I was hoping for chicken feet and rice rolls, but I hoped too much. Lychee mojito didn't even taste like a mojito. Tasted like straight up vodka with lychee syrup. No mint, no lime juice, no bubbly soda. It was $12 so I was disappointed. Overall, I wouldn't eat here again.

Definitely wanted to try this place out since it's a new all you can eat hotpot that opened in boston. It is similar to spring shabu where meat and seafood is a la carte, but this place offers A LOT more - including dim sum, appetizers, and hot side dishes. I tried to order a few of everything but I came late at 9:30 on Wednesday and last call is at 10. It's nice out the portions are smaller so you don't waste food, and you order everything via an iPad. I got the sukiyaki chicken broth, it was alright nothing too fancy. Everything was pretty standard and with a price of $25 before tip and tax, excluding a la carte, that price is hard to beat. They have a sauce bar as well as a soda fountain that is included. The place isn't too big but it isn't small, so I can definitely see this place getting packed on a weekend. It's very clean and very modern. What is also amazing is the SERVICE! Even though they knew last call was at 10, they made sure my food came out quickly and let me know when the kitchen is closing multiple times. I believe my server was Mikael (it was the only name on the receipt) but he was super accommodating and even recommended that the mango bun pairs well with ice cream which he was not wrong. All the other servers were also great as well, especially for being so late at night with a few customers left. I definitely would come back!

I am always surprised at how full I am when I leave! I'm stuffed every time. There is complementary miso soup with all of the bowls I've tried, outlined below. I really loved all of the bowls I've tried but my favorites are probably the Sake Aisuru Don and Kuromon Don. I just prefer more salmon to more tuna though, and they're all very good! Food: - Sake Aisuru Don: their classic all-salmon bowl! I loved the larger cuts of salmon, and I was pleasantly surprised that even the more pulverized salmon was flavorful! - Kuromon Don: loved the yellowtail in this! Each fish comes with two pieces (except the mackerel for which there are four), and I liked the sampler style for the salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and izumidai. - Maguro Toro Don: so much tuna! And all such high quality. The otoro was so fatty that it practically melted in my mouth without chewing. - Sake Maguro Hamachi Don: a mix of salmon, blue fin tuna, and yellowtail. I liked the yellowtail in this a lot and found that it stood out the most from the other two fish in this particular bowl!

The second time I went back, I ordered take out so I could eat it at the airport for dinner. I ordered the Sake Maguro Hamachi don, added ikura and negitoro. Again, so impressed with the quality of the fish and the size of it. They didn't skimp out and really enjoyed the thickness of the sashimi despite it only being 3 pieces. It was a very satiating bowl. Cant wait to come back next time again!

When we walked into Legal, the place was dead, the music was awful, and the vibe was just not there. So we sat at the bar and grabbed a drink while searching for a place to get an actual dinner where we could find last-minute reservations. Shojo in Chinatown came up with great reviews and after looking at the menu and seeing that we could get a reservation, we headed over. It was a short walk from the Ritz and Chinatown is just such a fun place with great energy. When we walked in, we knew we had made the right call and were easily able to switch our reservation from a table to bar seats, which is always an added bonus. The place is low lit and the music is on the louder side, but nothing was excessive to the point that we didn't enjoy our time there. We ordered a variety of drinks while there - a Toki Highball draft, a spicy tequila drink with lemongrass, a few different types of Japanese whiskeys as well (they have a really extensive list). As far as food goes, they categorize their menu into Snacks, Baos, and Rice, Noodles, and Dumplings. There's a lot of vegetarian friendly options, which is always a plus for me. My highlights were the 7 vegetable stir fry, fried eggplant bao, edamame dumplings, and the Thai veggie spring rolls. The salt and pepper calamari was also really great. Everything was terrific and really unique. Service was good - not great, but they took notice of empty glasses and were quick to bring out food, so I have absolutely no complaints. Shojo is somewhere I'd absolutely return to when staying in the area, I'm really happy we all turned what would have been a very touristy, depressing experience into something with a WAY better vibe and time!
