My go to drink is the strawberry yogurt.... It's refreshing and perfectly balanced not overly sweet, but a little tangy from the yogurt mixed with fresh strawberry flavor. The yogurt reminds me of Yalkult. Also, this spot is drive-thru only and usually there's always a long line!

Finally gave this drive thru boba a try and my impression so far is meh. The first time I got the strawberry yogurt with boba and it was so good that I went back the next day and it was a complete 180. Seeing that it's the same drink I ordered within 48 hours, I found a big discrepancy in the quality of the drink. The 2nd visit did not have the same texture or temperature as the first time and the boba was also much tougher. Unfortunately I'll give this place a break until there's a desire to come back.

Came in around 11 nice and easy drive through window only one person, ahead of me, ordered lard brown sugar boba and a haikkaido milk tea. Both tasted good and we enjoyed them and their large cup for the price is a good deal.

We tried the cheese grape drink and the peach & passion fruit green tea at Boba Ave. Both drinks were refreshing and tasted pretty good, especially the peach & passion fruit green tea. The downside is they don't have a huge variety of drinks to choose. The drive-thru line was also very long, so be prepared to wait during busy hours. Overall still a solid spot if you're craving a quick boba run.

Great staff however they don't have a nondairy milk tea option. I hope they will in the future! Also they only have fresh milk boba which is basically milk sweetened with boba which is their caffeine free option. Again, limited but still I think their customer service and crunchy popcorn chicken makes up for it. Also love hat their a drive thru that's open late!

They finally have little covers for lid so you can shake drink without anything spilling over.

I still visit Boba Ave when I need a drive thru. My dog appreciates the rides and we don't have to get out of car. But I'm sure it's getting harder to compete with all the drink places opening up down the street. Thank you boba Ave for being consistent with your drink quality and offering food snacks as well. They also updated their drinks to have a little cover so you can shake it and not fear anything leaking through the plastic lids. Thanks for wonderful service as well.

The convenience of a drive thru is the reason why I always come back. They don't have non dairy options so I tend to stick with the fruit teas. I recommend ordering 75% or 50% sugar as they do get pretty sweet. They use to have two windows in their tunnel but now it's one ordering window and a pick up window on the other side. I feel this does make the line go by faster!

Unevenly spiced -- here is one of many pieces of chicken -- half extra, EXTRA, extra spicy, half mild -- we ordered mild A lot of these pieces were way overly spiced & caked with powder to the point of 70% being inedible for either my partner (usually able to handle any spicy stuff) or I to finish. My partner tried to finish but had to throw out majority unfortunately :( -- was not even enjoyable at all, just pain -- helped me get my water intake in early for the day though :,) We love the sizes of the pieces & flavor here, been coming here for 2-3 years. But for some reason, the spices have been so patchy & inconsistent -- last month they added more pepper which threw the flavor off, this month it seems the spices are applied lazily and uneven -- asking for mild gets you extra, extra spicy. Sad we havent been able to enjoy this weekend's or last weekend's batch but we'll be taking a break for now.

Not the best boba you'll ever have, but it's not the worst boba you'll ever have either. The best thing about this place is the drive through. There are other boba places I'd rather visit, but sometimes laziness triumphs and the thought of getting out of the car (especially on a hot summer day) seems like the worst thing you can do. When ordering your boba, you drive up to the first window, pay, then drive up to the second window to pick up your goodies. If you'd rather skip the drive through, you can also walk in to place/get your order. Overall, quality was ok. My husband liked the boba, but they were just a tad too hard for my liking. I love the convenience of the drive through, so it's possible I'd come again. Hopefully other establishments follow suit and more of these drive thru boba places will open up in the area. read more

Boba places are a dime a dozen in the SGV. Boba Ave in Arcadia has changed the game with their drive-thru service. They are super fast and consistent. After 8 their drive-thru lane becomes an outdoor patio/lounge for hanging out. As far as food I only had their pop corn chicken which shits on the other boba spots nearby. It's sweet savory and perfectly crispy. So glad they play hiphop and alternative instead of typical EDM shit. Favorite boba place. Their dirty series is really good. Mango yogurt is also my favorite . I usually order 1/2 level sweetness so it's not too sweet. Drive thru makes it more convenient. Server was also kind and helpful. Definitely come back again! read more

I really like the variety of drinks they offer: espressos, lattes, Vietnamese coffee, yakult, smoothies, fruity teas, milk teas and so much more. As far as their price goes, it was a tad on the high side for the small cup size ($3.29) and middle-of-the-road quality drinks. They charge extra to add honey boba (should be included imo), pudding, etc. I was really excited to try their Hokkaido milk tea since boiling point has been "out of stock" for the past few months! Compared to BP, the drink was not as flavorful. I wouldn't go as far as to say it was watered down, but it lacked the degree of flavor I was accustomed to. Overall, it wasn't bad. For those who are critical about their honey bobas, I thought it was a little too soft. It didn't bother me though because I'm not really particular about them. Other reviewers mentioned the flimsy cup and lid. I didn't have any problems with my drink spilling, but then again it could be because I had the automatic sealed lid while others had the plastic do-it-yourself lids. Neat drive-thru concept, but poorly executed. The windows were way too high to reach from the seat of your car if your car is low. You'll have to step out to pay and grab your drinks, which defeats the purpose of a drive-thru. The ambiance was okay. I like the artsy menu that's plastered across the wall when you walk in. It's nice to look at, but because of the small interior, you're almost right up against the wall, which makes it hard to browse the menu and decide what to drink. You'll probably have to end up flipping through their small paper menu like I did. Minor funny incident - the girl who called out my drink gave me a small straw even though I had honey boba! I grabbed my drink and a new, bigger straw myself - maybe it was a simple mix up, no big deal right? She stared at me the entire time like she's trying to telepathically tell me "lady, what are you doing? I have your straw right here!" Alright, so I lied, it wasn't funny, not even in the slightest way. But some of the flaws (high windows for drive-thru, over cooked boba, inflated prices, etc) make me believe these people are pretty inexperienced and don't really know what they're doing. In a competitive market like this, I hope they manage somehow. read more

I came by like around 8 pm and I think the cashier's name was Diane or something. I went through the drive thru and ordered a messy milk tea boba and they gave me a dirty tea latte( which tasted horrible). When I was about to pay this girl pulls her tip jar towards her as if I'm going to steal it or something like really dude.. If i could give zero stars i would.. I've been here about 3 times and today was by far the worst experience i could have imagined. I was greeted by a Asian boy not so much greeted..he did not give me the drive thru menus how they done in past. When i asked a for a menu he proceeded to tell me its on the wall. He was very rude.. when i asked for matcha green tea he told me they don't make those. WEIRD cause i have had them here before. So he finally decided that he will make me my drink but with a horrible attitude. Long story short an hour after drinking my boba i threw up in my car.. i was perfectly fine before visiting this place. read more

Why the mediums don't have lids anymore?

Because we redesign the cup and redesign the cover to make it more fit with each other. This kind of lid is made to open easily just like yogurt lids so you can drink or eat the cheese foam.

I tried their Mango Sweet Dew drink, which is a smoothie with jasmine green tea, mango, coconut milk, house made milk, agar boba, and grapefruit. It was pretty and each sip was a bit different - some I got more of a jasmine green tea flavor, others more mango, and others more of coconut milk. Loved that kind of surprise. My daughter got one of their matcha drinks and she thought it was alright. It tasted a bit more milky to her, but otherwise was good. My friend got their yuzu berry smoothie (berry purée, yuzu tea, diced pear) on numerous occasions and mentioned it was a good non-dairy drink as most of their other drinks contain dairy. Clean interior and the order process and pick up was straight forward. Nice staff here as well. There are so many other drinks I'd love to try, so I'll try more when I'm in the area again. Those mochi drinks sound so tempting!

They also ask you for your personal preferences as they put together your bowl. Parking is relatively easy. I never have trouble securing parking in front of the store or within the confines of downtown Monrovia.

Boba Ave Express is one of my favorite tea houses in the arcadia area. Yes, there are many and many and many of boba shops and speciality tea cafes, in fact it's almost endless and around every corner here. However after trying out so many of them, I would still stay that this place is one of the best around! They truly specialize in teas and are masters of making it. The atmosphere of the place is also really old school. It is one of the best around if you want to sit down with your laptop to work or study or smoking. This place truly has any sort of liquid drink for everyone. Even if you don't particularly like tea or boba, they offer a large variety of other drinks like, smoothies, yogurt drinks, juices, and even toast and actual food! There's something for everyone here, and it makes for a great place whether you come by yourself or with friends. WiFi is super fast which is a big bonus! The staffs are always so friendly & so helpful. If your not satisfied with your drink, they'll make the changes for you without any hesitation. The value that this place offers for your money is truly unbeatable! The drive thru was amazing for people like me who just doesnt want to get out of the car. You have to come here and try it out. Not the biggest select of drinks but they narrowed it down to a few good choices. The drink I orders was mediocre but good at best. What really gets to me Is the design of customer flow through the drive through. It's like helping one customer at a time. It doesn't seem like they put much thought of how to design a drive though. On a Friday night you can be waiting in line for over an hour and only 6th in line. Look at how in and out does a drive though. They have an employee outside taking orders and getting people out fast. If the building had one side taking orders and the other side was for picking up orders. That would be better, but it's not in this case. Your litterer waiting for the person in front of you to order and then waiting for them to get their drinks. But it's a really nice atmosphere and nice looking place. I just wish they thought of making it function better. read more

BAE is my favorite place to go to study and hangout. Parking is Super easy to find (there's extra parking behind the building in the back). They have a big variety of food and drinks that are not pricey. We ordered a honey green tea . You can upgrade your drink to a large for small amount of money. The honey green tea wasn't overly sweet and was still really cold even when I ordered it with less ice, which was nice. The pop chicken was also good, it had a amazing flavor and juicey taste. Drive thru is amazing.Came today for the dirty milk tea. what a rainy day today!! I mainly come here when I need to study or for the drive thru.It can get quite busy in the late afternoon to night, so I usually like to come in the morning to early afternoon when it's still quiet to study. Ordered a Hokkaido milk tea tonight with 50% sugar & light ice today as a little dessert after dinner, made sure to have them adjust the sugar level and ice level before I paid because I can't have my drinks too sweet, and wasn't in the mood for anything too cold, yet the drink tasted like liquid diabetes and the ice filled half my cup. Not even trying to purposely give a bad rating but just hoping that this review will spark some changes here! I don't know if the barista didn't calculate the sugar levels right or just doesn't know how to make drinks but in case of unhappy customers in the future, I seriously hope the baristas working in the back take customers orders respectively and responsibly, and learn to do their job right, especially for a simple request of lowering sugar levels and ice levels. read more

Honestly after looking it up on yelp, I did not have high expection for this place. I thought it was the closest to my workplace so I'd just grab a drink and go. I WAS WRONG!! They normally open at 11am but they offered to make me my drink before that so I wouldn't be LATE! The girl was also very nive and sweet too! FYI If you come too early dont expect to get boba CAUSE they make it fresh every morning! I didn't mind that, and thought it was very nice of them to make it fresh(alot of the other places have left over boba from the night before). I got one of the messy milks with lychee jelly, and I LOVED it. I have never written a review before but is glad to do so for this place. Waited 30 minutes in the drive thru with around 5 cars ahead of me. Avg 6 minutes per car. Ordered their house milk tea regular sweetness. They say I could try it and if I don't like it, I can bring it back and they'll remake it. Made a mistake and didn't try it at the pick up window. I would have asked for a refund. Didn't drink it til I got home. First of all, the drink itself is too sweet. I'd recommend 50% for those ordering this drink. Second of all, the milk tea tasted powdery?? Weird because they told me they blend their teas rather than shaking. Third, the boba is mushy and grainy. I also found a strand of hair wrapped around it. This place deserves 0 stars for ruining my car. Came here for dessert after dinner and who knew this trip would cost me a fortune. Ordered a brown sugar milk tea and a Thai tea. They helped to put my drinks in a cup holder which I placed behind my seat in the back of my car. Just got home and noticed that the brown sugar milk tea spilled all over my car floor with the thai tea leaking in the bag. Never had this happen to me at any other boba shops before considering how lids are supposed to be sealed shut. Their cheap foil lids don't even seal properly. This is definitely going to leave a stain. Interior cleaning gonna cost around $100. Who's paying. Their drinks weren't cheap either. Two drinks came out to around $13. read more

I was debating on giving a 3 or 4 for this review. This place is good but is always inconsistent. Some days my drink taste like condensed milk, other days it's perfect. I always order medium spicy fries and sometimes it's super spicy, sometimes it's mild. There's always a line going out into the street so it's for those who are patient and can wait 20 minutes in line. My favorite part about this place is that they have a drive thru. The workers are usually nice. Overall I would recommend this place. I hope they see my review and find a way to make everything more consistent. I never like to complain, especially since they always look busy but it's sucks to spend 5 dollars on boba and it being different every time. read more

They truly thought about the wait and placed edgy wall arts and graphics so we may feast our eyes as we wait for our boba and Taiwanese snacks to be ready (July 25th). We came back 3 more times after our first visit and loving their mango yoghurt blended, jasmine tea (no milk) with crystal boba. I have a very happy experience here today I always spend time with my friends at boba ave 8090 which located at San Gabriel. This is my first time to try this boba ave Arcadia because they have a drive through!! When I first time come here there were so many good choices to choose. I will helped us out and recommended a few drinks to to us. The Rose Green Milk Tea was one of the first drinks I tries when I first time come here. It was really good and it has a strong flavor to the drink. I have been to many boba shops and tried rose milk tea but I think here is best! You've got to try it! For the other drinks is Hokkaido matcha. The matcha flavored is very good, this is different startbucks matcha, and the matcha mixes really well with the sweetness of the Hokkaido. If you are a fan matcha, I'd say get this drink! I stopped by this drive-through boba shop on Saturday, and I was thoroughly impressed! The service was top-notch - friendly, efficient, and attentive. But the real star of the show was the drink itself. I ordered the strawberry yogurt smoothie with crystal boba, and it was absolutely divine! The smoothie was incredibly creamy, with a rich, velvety texture that tasted just like strawberry cheesecake. The crystal boba added a delightful chewiness to the drink, and the flavors all worked together in perfect harmony. Overall, I'm so glad I stumbled upon this hidden gem! Came here to try the drive thru and was totally disappointed. The workers are extremely rude when I was asking about the types of drinks they had.. and even gave attitude. I'm pretty sure all their 5 star reviews are fake.. if you actually look at all their profiles and read their reviews you can see that they all comment about the great service which they do not have. The drinks are super watery and they give way too much ice even when you ask for less.. theres no tea flavor and the boba is rock solid hard. How can you mess up on boba? Can't believe I paid $6 or a watered down drink with tons of ice and hard boba.. waste of money. Do not come here. 0 STARS read more

My experience at Boba Ave Express was unfortunately disappointing and frustrating. During a visit, my friend found pieces of hard white plastic in his drink, which is concerning for safety and quality. After contacting them, they promised a refund, but even after several weeks and a follow-up visit, the refund was not processed, leaving the issue unresolved. Additionally, the quality of their popcorn chicken is inconsistent; sometimes it's enjoyable with large pieces, but more often, it consists mainly of small, less appealing scraps. Due to these issues, I've decided not to return and feel compelled to share this negative review to inform others. read more

I waited 40 minutes just to get to the ordering window and have them tell me that their internet was cut off and that they were only accepting cash? I ordered a brown sugar milk tea with boba and it was definitely not worth the 40 minutes I wasted in the damn line. I don't understand why they even have a drive through because their system is so inefficient and if they have a manager he/she probably sucks at their job! If McDonalds can do it why can't they?? Their damn line even blocks off half of Baldwin Ave. and I'm constantly scared I'm gonna get into an accident or pulled over by cops because the long line seems far too dangerous. read more

I love their spicy fries and there drink because it taste good and the drink look better then the other stores I've seen I'd love to bring friends here to eat and drink while we talk about our own stuff I recommend that you come to this store because they close late and you get to chill at the out side chairs it's fresh and it's calm area if you like to know why I say this is because I always come here for food and drinks and it's better then the other boba shops that I've been to so I would totally recommend you to come to this store and get some fresh food and boba drinks and they also have nice customer service. read more

I thought it would be faster to order in store instead of ordering through the long drive-thru. After ordering I wanted to sit inside to wait for my drink, however a worker rudely told me that I was not allowed to wait inside and that I had to wait outside instead. Keep in mind it was freezing outdoors especially since it's winter time and the drinks were estimated to take about 30 minutes to make. I personally do not recommend coming to this boba shop as the workers have no regard to its customers. All in all, I gave it two stars because the drinks are decent, but the service attitude of the clerk is really bad! read more

Boba Avenue is a great boba shop that serves delicious drinks made with high-quality ingredients. The milk teas are creamy and flavorful, and the boba is always cooked to perfection - not too chewy and not too soft. The service is also great, the staff is friendly and always willing to help. The shop is also very clean and well-maintained. I really love how they repurposed a car wash/drive thru and really made it work as a boba shop. It looks super nice and the benches with car brands is a nice touch. Overall, I highly recommend Boba Avenue to anyone looking for a great boba experience. read more
